The Centaur’s four legs were immensely thick, covered in a layer of smooth, inch-long black hair that looked as if coated in slick, transparent grease. The muscle contours were bulging and full, radiating a sense of power and rugged fitness.
His face was obscured by a thick, dense beard that hid most of his features. The edges of his nostrils were moist and wrinkled, but the only clear feature was his eyes, which were steeped in an indescribable shade of red—if one had to draw a comparison, they resembled the eyes of a condemned man, thoroughly drunk before his execution, filled with desperate savagery.
(Mobile Access:)-=Member Hand-typed=* "Foul human! I smelled your disgusting stench from three thousand Qian (Centaur unit of measure, one Qian approximately 0.3 meters) away.
By Sumeng God, I will tear out your entrails and use them to strangle you, only then can I slightly wash away the sin of you defiling the alfalfa!" Fang Senyan dismissed the giant’s words as nonsense. His eyes fixed on the Centaur’s waist, where three distinct hooks hung.
Two were empty, but the last hook held a black spear. The spear's surface was rough and uneven, appearing as if coated in a layer of pale yellow, transparent pine resin.
The blunt tip was stained with a dark viscous fluid, dripping drop by agonizing drop. Fang Senyan immediately used his Insight ability.
With a flash of light, it was evident his perception far surpassed that of the brute before him. The creature’s attributes immediately surfaced: Hertzrour Bloodmark Race: Centaur Identity: Vice-Chieftain of the Kokaal Centaur Clan Height: 7 feet 2 inches (2.15 meters), Weight: 183 kg Strength: 22 Agility: 12 Stamina: 6 Perception: 10 Charisma: 10 Intelligence: 9 Spirit: 8 Base Melee LV3, Base Ranged LV3, Base Prayer LV1, Base Meditation LV1 Unique Special Ability: Black Voodoo LV2.
Hertzrour Bloodmark has mastered some simple black sorceries, which he combines with plant extracts to form a new, vicious technique. He coats his weapons with this concoction; each successful attack deals toxic damage to the enemy lasting 15 seconds, triggering every three seconds, with total damage ranging from 12–27 points.
(Subject to enemy resistance.) Warning: Each tick of Black Voodoo damage has a chance to critically strike! Unique Special Ability: Spear Slaughter.
Hertzrour Bloodmark is naturally fierce, thus eschewing bows for long spears to attack enemies. Upon spotting an enemy, he throws his spear, inflicting weapon damage + bonus damage determined by the difference in Strength between the two parties.
-=Member Hand-typed=* If the enemy closes the distance, he unleashes a slaughtering frenzy with the spear, unlike other Centaurs who might panic. Unique Special Ability: Blood Draw (Black Magic).
Can instantly burn his own vitality (lifespan) to restore Health Points, recovering up to 25% of his maximum HP. Centaur Special Ability: Swift Pace.
Allows him to maintain normal speed across most terrains. Centaur Special Ability: Throwing.
Centaurs are skilled at capturing prey with lassos; thus, even without a bow or wooden spear, he can pick up stones anywhere to launch ranged attacks, though the power is significantly reduced. Centaur Special Ability: Robustness LV3.
Grants him an additional 1200 Health Points. Looking at the Centaur, "Hertzrour Bloodmark," Fang Senyan couldn't tell if his luck was good or bad to encounter a 'Small B' level opponent right away.
However, seeing the creature's personal stats brought him a measure of calm. While its Strength was high, Stamina was its weak point; combined, they only totaled 28 points—less than Fang Senyan's Stamina score alone.
The 22 Strength meant that Hertzrour was unlikely to inflict that devastating crush attack he was capable of against Fang Senyan. The second factor was parrying and blocking.
If an enemy's combined Strength and Stamina exceeded his own, even a successful parry action would only have a 10% to 15% chance of success. Conversely, if the enemy’s combined Strength and Stamina were lower than his, the success rate for a parry exceeded 50%.
Of course, even a parry usually reduced some health; a complete deflection of every blow was exceedingly rare. The sun had now pierced through the mountain mist, casting a blinding glare.
The fierce-looking Hertzrour Bloodmark stamped its hooves, sending fragments of grass and leaves flying wildly behind it. The very ground trembled slightly as the massive Centaur roared, drawing the wooden spear and sweeping it in a horizontal arc!
This was Hertzrour Bloodmark’s signature move! Spear Slaughter!
Fang Senyan held his axe horizontally and blocked the blow with a loud peng. He stumbled back three or four steps but still lost nearly forty points of health, demonstrating the attack’s immense power.
Yet, Fang Senyan couldn't help but feel it was nothing special—after enduring the horrifying 35-point raw strength baptism from the adult Mountain Troll, this level of damage no longer imposed any psychological pressure. In fact, the brutal beating suffered during the fight with the Mountain Troll had been so vivid and memorable that Fang Senyan had seriously considered acquiring a shield.
If not for the need to learn the Shield Mastery skill to utilize one effectively (otherwise only achieving 80%–90% efficiency), Fang Senyan likely would have spent every resource in the Nightmare Space to buy one upon returning. Hertzrour Bloodmark swung the wooden spear wildly, dragging and stabbing through the air, resembling a giant serpent frantically trying to swallow its prey.
The spear vibrated with a low hum as it moved, and phantom illusions of ferocious, screaming ghosts with contorted faces materialized around the tip, their wails piercing the heart. Fang Senyan remained impassive, gripping his one-handed axe steadily as a guard.
He took a spear thrust to his left arm, the wound momentarily turning black and festering, but his defense, bolstered by thirty-one Stamina, was truly outstanding in the current difficulty world. The continuous damage disappeared quickly, but despite this, his health rapidly dropped, falling below 200 points.
Perhaps sensing that Fang Senyan managed to parry most of his attacks, Hertzrour Bloodmark roared and attempted to quicken his assault. His thick-knuckled hand gripped the spear shaft tightly, and several incredibly agile afterimages appeared during his vigorous swings.
The venomous and malevolent weapon shrieked in the air with desperate cries, seemingly longing to claim more lives and taste more warm blood. Suddenly, after enduring a sweeping spear blow, Fang Senyan advanced instead of retreating.
He roared, bringing his dark axe down in a heavy horizontal cut, slamming it into the giant monster's waist. Axes excel at cleaving, and this strike nearly unbalanced Hertzrour Bloodmark’s massive frame, causing him to scramble sideways half a foot on all fours.
Centaur defense was never high to begin with. Where the axe passed, it tore open a massive, bloody gash; blood jetted out, nearly exposing his internal organs.
A quick side note: the Centaur race’s Stamina truly cannot be higher. Their health pool is comparable to a Terminator’s, plus they possess ranged and melee capabilities, can apply poison, cast Black Voodoo, perform divination, and remain unaffected by terrain—even traversing dense forests, they could still maintain a speed comparable to a large ocean motorcycle.
If their defense and health were any higher, what chance would the legendary creatures have… Despite suffering such a potentially fatal blow, Hertzrour Bloodmark seized the perfect opportunity, howling wildly as he thrust the spear straight at Fang Senyan’s face. Fang Senyan barely managed to deflect the axe’s block, shifting the spear point only half an inch; it still plunged deeply into his abdomen!
This thrust hit a vital spot and was incredibly fatal. Fang Senyan’s health, already under two hundred, plummeted by nearly a hundred points after being impaled!
Furthermore, he was now suffering from both bleeding and poisoning effects. Hertzrour Bloodmark was ecstatic from his successful strike.
It was unfortunate, however, that the Centaur had not witnessed Fang Senyan dispatching the vampire Edward that day, or it would certainly have adopted extreme vigilance immediately. Fang Senyan clamped down hard on the spear shaft.
In his left hand, he produced an antique-looking black firearm, aiming coolly and steadily! Killing intent immediately surged and roared like a tidal wave, Spilling out in all directions!
The black, gaping muzzle seemed intent on drawing all vitality together, transforming it into hysterical death! With a deafening boom!
Hertzrour Bloodmark felt an overwhelming force impact his foreleg, followed instantly by excruciating pain and a void. He couldn't help but cry out in agony, letting go of the hand gripping the spear!
Ambition, the firearm from the Caribbean, once again displayed its terrifying power as one of Davy Jones's prized possessions! “Your weapon: Ambition will deal 140 theoretical damage to Hertzrour Bloodmark.” “Flintlock Weapon Special Effect: Buildup has been triggered.
The additional critical hit rate granted by Buildup is now 50%.” “Your weapon: Ambition has scored a critical hit this time!” “The critical effect triggered by Buildup will be increased from 200% bonus damage to 250%.” “Your theoretical damage has been increased to: 140 x 250% = 350 points!” “You successfully struck Hertzrour Bloodmark’s left foreleg. Your weapon: Ambition deals an actual damage of 328 points to Hertzrour Bloodmark!” “The cumulative damage inflicted on Hertzrour Bloodmark’s left foreleg exceeds 1/6th of its total health, inflicting a Crippled effect!” A thick, bloody foreleg struck the tree behind him and bounced back onto the damp earth and soft moss.
An ant, fleeing in terror, was drawn by the scent of blood. Before the warm leg had even finished twitching, it began happily running off to call its friends for a grand feast… “You have severed Hertzrour Bloodmark’s left foreleg!” “Your lead projectile remains lodged in Hertzrour Bloodmark’s body, inflicting continuous bleeding damage!”
