Looking at the three items he had acquired, Fang Senyan’s first impulse was to combine the Troll Soul Relic and the Giant Troll’s massive leg bone to forge a silver plot-related piece of equipment! Even though there was a warning that if the Soul Relic’s compatibility with the used equipment was insufficient, the Relic itself would be damaged. But even with his underwear on his head, he knew the compatibility between these two items would inevitably be 100%. Yet, Fang Senyan abandoned the thought as quickly as it formed.
In a space where life-or-death threats could emerge at any moment, enhancing his own strength was unquestionably the top priority. He knew he wouldn't be able to equip that massive Troll leg bone for a long time, so selling it or trading it was the best option. Relatively speaking, the Soul Relic, which could elevate black-grade equipment from quantitative change to qualitative change, was the one worth keeping, as Fang Senyan already possessed two pieces of black-grade equipment—upgrading any one of them would result in an enormous boost to his power!
Having made up his mind, Fang Senyan checked his inventory and discovered that the Soul Relic could only be used within the Nightmare Space, forcing him to temporarily set it aside. Although his strength didn't see an immediate boost, the haul left Fang Senyan quite satisfied. At that moment, the train whistle blew, and the three of them rose in unison and headed for the carriages. They knew this train would only stop for fifteen minutes; missing it meant waiting until the next day.
Ten minutes later, all three were seated on the train. Fang Senyan was extremely weary. He also knew time was precious, so naturally, he planned to catch up on sleep during the journey, allowing him to arrive at Diagon Alley refreshed and ready to strive for that +3 All Attributes title. During the trip, he asked Gree about title synthesis, but it seemed the man didn't know much either. The only thing Fang Senyan managed to grasp was that title synthesis definitely existed.
Just as Fang Senyan was drifting off into a haze, someone knocked on the door of their compartment. He immediately became vigilant, only to see Das and Gree rush forward with joyful expressions, hastily opening the door!
Fang Senyan was slightly taken aback to see a middle-aged woman pushing a cart outside, asking them with a wide smile if they wanted to buy anything to eat. He instantly realized they must have stumbled upon a hidden event. According to the original plot, this vending woman only appeared on the train during term start or holiday transport. Their encounter now must mean one of the three of them had struck an incredibly lucky streak.
Because they were slow to jump into the fray, Fang Senyan couldn't buy anything even with money. The items they managed to snatch up were as follows: Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans x2: A unique food item in the Harry Potter world. You might randomly taste coconut, mint, spinach, liver, tripe, pepper... or even snot and earwax. There is a 50% chance of tasting a normal snack flavor: Instantly restores 15% of maximum health. There is a 33% chance of tasting an odd flavor (like liver, tripe, pepper): All base attribute values temporarily increase by +1 for 24 hours. There is a 10% chance of tasting a disgusting flavor: Maximum health instantly decreases by 5%, but all attack power increases by 10% for 12 hours. Chocolate Frogs x2: A unique food item in the Harry Potter world. Consuming one restores the rate of spiritual power recovery by +50% for 120 minutes. Upon opening the wrapper, there is a 50% chance of obtaining a collectible Wizard Card. Selling a single card yields 100 Universal Points. Collecting a full set (12 different Wizard Cards) unlocks a hidden quest. Mars Chocolate Bar: A unique food item in the Harry Potter world. Consumption restores 33% of health and 33% of spiritual power within 30 seconds.
These items could be paid for directly with the wages Hagrid had previously given them. Fang Senyan spent less than 10 British Pounds (and these were not considered rare items), yet they could fetch at least 2000 Universal Points if sold back in the space. Keeping them for personal use was also a great option. After the frantic purchasing spree, no other extraordinary events occurred. While waiting for the train earlier, Fang Senyan had suddenly considered a question and couldn't help but bring it up now: “Why hasn't anyone targeted Harry Potter? Even if he’s little, he’s still just a child, right?”
Gree burst into laughter as if he’d heard something hilarious: “Sailor, do you really think Harry Potter is as safe and harmless as he appears in the movies—a child whom even someone terrifying like Voldemort couldn't kill! How could one possibly measure him with the eyes of a normal person? I once heard someone recount that Harry Potter carries three layers of blessings: the eighth-tier Blessing of Protection through Love cast by his mother Lily with her life, possessing terrifying damage reflection capabilities; the seventh-tier Blessing of True Luck cast by his father; and the seventh-tier Blessing of Magical Affinity cast by Dumbledore! If you attack him, you need to be prepared to meet God within seconds!”
“Indeed,” Das added seriously. “Aside from the abilities Gree mentioned, Harry Potter possessed the powerful ability to transfer objects to other planes from a very young age. Do you remember the scene in the film where he visited the zoo with his aunt and uncle’s family?”
“Harry Potter wanted to embarrass his cousin, so he moved the glass enclosure holding the snake. It took a full few minutes before it reappeared! This proves that if he wished, he could move any visible, similar object. If this ability further strengthens under a life-threatening emergency, it could very well include your weapon, your head, your arms, legs, or even your internal organs!”
After hearing their analysis, Fang Senyan suddenly felt that Harry Potter was no mere child, but rather a super-light armored self-propelled fortress. He immediately abandoned any thought of bullying a child, collapsed onto the train seat, and fell into a deep, peaceful slumber until he was jolted awake by the conductor at Platform 9 and Three-Quarters in London.
Three and a half hours of sleep was quite substantial for a Contractor. Fang Senyan splashed some water on his face in the station, feeling his spirit recover by 80%. He then got into the taxi Gree had called and returned to the bar where they had been recruited—The Leaky Cauldron in London.
It was not yet five in the afternoon, and the bar was empty save for Old Nick meticulously wiping a glass with a rag. Upon seeing the three of them, he slowly said: “Gentlemen, turn right outside, thirteen meters down is the Leaky Cauldron Café; their honey cakes are quite good. If you have the nerve to touch the thirteenth server there, you’ll find her hands feel rather pleasant—why are you still standing here? I swore to Barry that I wouldn't sell a single drop of any alcoholic beverage before six o’clock.”
The most charming among them, Jess, naturally stepped forward to deal with the plot character: “Hey, Nick, a friend told me the thirteenth server at the café next door is a man. Are you perhaps into that sort of thing? Also, we aren’t here for drinks; we need to get to the back of the bar.”
As he spoke, Jess presented the badge representing a Hogwarts Gamekeeper. Old Nick showed no objection, but he meticulously inspected the badges of the other two before allowing them passage. Fang Senyan was quite thirsty at this point. He knew his meager points in charm likely hadn't left much of a good impression on the plot characters, so he casually grabbed a bottle of beer from the counter nearby, easily popped the cap, and tilted his head back for a long gulp.
Old Jack immediately roared in fury: “Hey! I said I wouldn't sell a single drop of any alcoholic beverage before six o’clock!”
Fang Senyan let out a satisfied burp and casually tossed the beer bottle away: “Old man, if I drink it and don't pay, doesn't that mean it wasn't sold?”
Old Nick was instantly stunned. He felt something was wrong but couldn't articulate it, scratching his head in frustration as he retreated behind the counter.
Gree, who knew the procedure for entering Diagon Alley, was already standing by the back wall of the bar. It appeared to be an old, crumbling red brick wall. At eye level with a person, there was a cruciform indentation—Fang Senyan thought it looked quite similar to the Chevrolet emblem on a car. Gree curled his fingers and gently tapped the wall next to the indentation in a clockwise motion. The brick wall began to rotate, opening up a passage.
At that moment, Old Nick’s raucous, enraged voice echoed from the front: “You damn fool, you haven’t paid for the beer yet!”
Fang Senyan laughed heartily, took off running, and quickly vanished into the bustling crowds of Diagon Alley. Gree and Das both raised their hands innocently as the panting Old Nick chased after them. The old man was already quite aged, and looking at the dense sea of heads in Diagon Alley, he rubbed his eyes, completely unable to spot a single figure.
This was the first time either Fang Senyan or Das had visited Diagon Alley. It was the marketplace for all wizards, its congestion and liveliness rivaling the area near Westminster Abbey. Most of the buildings here were small, two or three-story wooden structures from the sixteenth century, their eaves covered with triangular tiles. These leaning houses were packed together, giving the feeling of tightly grasping passengers in an overstuffed bus—a curiously staggered beauty.
Almost every house was a unique, independent shop, and their signs had all been elaborately designed. Under the eaves of the shop opposite Fang Senyan hung a wind chime that automatically performed pull-ups. The sign on the shop to his right would grab a rag and wipe itself clean. Suddenly, Fang Senyan heard the sound of a train whistle and whipped his head around. It turned out to be a teapot sitting atop the sign of a shop behind him, vigorously spewing steam. When it saw Fang Senyan looking, it even blinked and blew a few puffs of steam directly towards him...
