To the Troll, the few small bugs before it felt like disgusting flies, buzzing around just out of reach. Even worse, a venomous wasp was hidden in the distance, continuously spewing stinging barbs right at its eyes! The monster was gradually succumbing to weakness from massive blood loss and omnipresent pain throughout its body. Its remaining, fiercely glaring, small triangular eye darted around, and it actually turned, clutching its head with both hands, and bolted back toward its lair.

Faced with this turn of events, everyone in the group was utterly stunned. It was Crowbar who reacted first, stamping his foot and shouting in exasperation:

“Chase!”

To be honest, the remaining members of the Symbiosis Society were almost completely exhausted. Their pre-stocked medicines were nearly depleted. Indeed, they were more fatigued than sex workers during the World Cup, and more unhealthy than white-collar workers after fifteen consecutive days of overtime. However, thinking of the massive reward for killing a Legendary Creature, as well as the strict rules and regulations of the team, the remaining Contractors could only muster up their last reserves of strength and pursue relentlessly.

The Troll was tall, with long legs and huge feet. Since it currently held the advantage, it could decide when to arrive and when to leave, seizing the initiative. Thus, amidst the "thud-thud" sound of splashing mud, the distance between it and the Symbiosis Society members quickly widened. The Society members hurried along, panting like dogs with their tongues hanging out, only able to watch the gap between them grow larger.

Fortunately, this chase lasted only a few minutes before the Troll stopped dead in its tracks and plunged headfirst into its lair! Its frantic demeanor was much like that of a young woman, desperate to buy an iPhone 4, throwing herself into the arms of a sugar daddy she hadn't seen in days. The few Contractors from the Symbiosis Society instantly breathed a sigh of relief. In their view, the Troll was just another beast; despite its massive size and abundant strength, hadn't it just been beaten badly and fled back to its den to play the tortoise?

Driven by this thought, these few Contractors naturally let down their guard. Of course, they dared not press directly into the dark lair, instead blocking the entrance and discussing whether to smoke it out with fire. Just then, Fang Senyan was also moving through the jungle. Staying far back behind a tree, upon seeing this group from the Symbiosis Society clustered at the cave entrance, he shook his head with resignation and sighed softly:

“Oh, damn it, are you trying to commit suicide?”

No sooner had Fang Senyan's voice faded than an invisible shockwave burst forth from the pitch-black maw of the lair!

Troll Special Ability: Heartrending Shriek!

This damned monster had held back this final trump card! As the shockwave rippled outward, even the falling drizzle of rain was bent aside, followed by the Troll’s furious roars.

The four Contractors gathered at the entrance were instantly slowed by 70%! Each could see the look of terror in the others’ eyes, desperately trying to scatter, but their bodies could not keep pace with their intentions due to the powerful deceleration effect.

It turned out that the Troll, sensing the situation was dire and realizing it could no longer use its special ability, "Root Disaster," had immediately rushed back to its lair. Its goal was not to escape! Rather, it was to turn back and retrieve its heavy club weapon, which it usually favored. The group from the Symbiosis Society had completely misjudged the current situation and could not escape this terrible doom!

With a loud "crack," the Troll rushed out of its lair and slammed its left foot heavily onto the muddy ground. Amidst the splashing mud and water, it roared loudly and raised an even thicker, massive tree trunk high above its head, then brought it crashing down heavily.

This blow finally connected. The remaining members of the Symbiosis Society were already wounded and weary, and on top of that, they carried the monstrous 70% Slowing DUFF. The Troll's incredibly fierce strike instantly knocked one fleeing Contractor flat onto the ground, pinning him from shoulder to back. He became as flattened as if run over by a road roller, and the mud beneath him immediately turned bright crimson! Smelling the blood, the Troll lifted its massive club and screamed in excitement, ignoring the bullets still flying from the darkness in the distance. It snatched up the still twitching Contractor and, opening its mouth wide, began to chew, tear, and devour!

Witnessing this scene, Fang Senyan in the distance showed an expression mixing gravity and sudden understanding, nodding slightly, clearly having gained some insight.

After devouring the unlucky fellow in a few bites, the Troll, with thick, foul blood still trickling from the corners of its mouth, grabbed its great club and fiercely pursued, baring its teeth. By all rights, the strategy of splitting up adopted by the remaining Symbiosis Society members was not wrong. They might have felt a sense of security believing that plunging into the dense undergrowth and woods after a mad dash would keep them safe. But the cruel reality was that in such terrain, the Troll’s movement speed was only slightly affected, akin to a normal person walking through knee-high grass. For the Contractors, however, their movement speed would drop by at least half, constrained by the jungle.

So, predictably, about two minutes later, another Contractor was caught up to by the ferocious Troll, and within moments, he met a gruesome death under the Troll’s massive club. Undeniably, his corpse's destination shifted from the grave to the Troll's stomach once again. The Troll shrieked wildly in excitement, its previous grievances completely swept away.

Although the Symbiosis Society members were being slaughtered and wounded, it must be noted that the gunfire echoing from the darkness never ceased. Das was relentlessly keeping up his fire, aiming at the Troll’s only remaining right eye. It was clearly visible that the area around that right eye was riddled with scars, the eyeball itself was fiery red and bloodshot, and blue fluid was constantly oozing out—it was clearly on the verge of collapse. If losing one eye was merely a quantitative change, then undoubtedly, being blinded in both eyes would constitute a qualitative leap!

From another angle, once the Troll’s eyes were both blinded, Das might very well be able to take down this ferocious and powerful monster single-handedly in the ensuing battle!

The situation suddenly became bizarre. Crowbar and the remaining Gree took the opportunity to hide. At this moment, the inevitable infighting resurfaced among the last three members of the team—though by now, both Das and Crowbar had completely overlooked Fang Senyan’s presence. This wasn't entirely their fault; the sheer visual impact of the Troll’s previous "Primitive Home Run" ability was so overwhelming that no one expected this sailor, treated as cannon fodder, could still be alive.

Losing the target in its vision, the Troll naturally focused its main attention on Das, who was still shooting from a distance! It protected its right eye with its hand, rubbing it painfully a few times, before suddenly exploding in savage fury. It let out a wild roar, and the arm holding the great club began to swell abnormally again, clearly preparing another vicious "Log Throw Kill!"

As the saying goes, a single stumble can prevent ten falls. Since Das had already suffered from the "Log Throw Kill" once, he was naturally on constant alert for this move. However, where risk meets opportunity, the Troll, when throwing its weapon, could not maintain its continuous protective stance over its right eye—this was the best chance to inflict serious damage upon it!

Das had already silently calculated his approximate damage output. He was almost certain: if he could land a three-hit combo successfully this time, the Troll before him would likely be completely blinded! The subsequent pursuit would cease, and if he chose to retreat now, he might not evade the knockdown effect stemming from the Log Throw Kill, and would then have to face the Troll’s relentless pursuit—in that case... he would likely have no chance at all, and would surely die!

Therefore, Das had no intention of dodging the massive club flying toward him. Instead, he pressed close to the tree he was using for cover, aimed precisely at the Troll’s only remaining eye, and pulled the trigger.

Three searing bullets shot out in rapid succession…

Ability Three-Hit Combo… Activated!

Fang Senyan, watching from afar, couldn't help but internally praise Das’s decisiveness—not everyone can make the correct judgment when facing imminent life and death.

But even the most meticulous plan can have a flaw. Das had miscalculated one thing: he had underestimated the Troll’s intelligence. The previous "Log Throw Kill" failing to severely injure the enemy had left the monster deeply aggrieved. This time, the Troll deliberately adjusted its throwing angle, causing the hurled club, while striking the tree, to also sweep across Das right after he fired! The explosion occurred afterward.

When the tree and the club detonated simultaneously with immense force, wood splinters, leaves, and mud sprayed everywhere. Das, already heavily wounded and not fully recovered even after using medicine, was blasted seven or eight meters by the direct hit. His head struck a rock, causing secondary damage. The damage to his head exceeded one-third of his maximum capacity, causing him to immediately fall into a coma. Blood trickled profusely from his nostrils and ear canals, looking particularly stark against the mud.

Of course, the Troll wasn't faring much better after taking the consecutive hit. Its incredibly shrill cry echoed through the air, and then it clutched its face with both hands, the shattered eyeball tissue and pale blue fluid still oozing between its fingers. For any sighted creature, plunging abruptly into endless darkness under normal circumstances is undoubtedly a terrifying experience. The Troll began wildly attacking the surrounding trees, rocks, and anything it could reach amidst its frantic screaming… Wherever it rampaged, it left devastation in its wake, utterly brutal.
