With the experience of opening previous keys, Fang Senyan was naturally quick and familiar with the process this time. Two items appeared in the box; the main CPU chip (incomplete) dropped out again. But the second item was something that looked quite peculiar, seemingly completely out of place in this world.

It was something rolled up into a cylinder, looking only about twenty centimeters long. The first impression was that of a miniature map casually rolled up and placed there, its surface emitting a faint glow.

Fang Senyan reached out, and his fingertips registered a soft yet substantial texture, as if stroking yellowed parchment from the Middle Ages—ancient and mysterious, thickly layered with the sediment of history. Immediately afterward, the Nightmare Imprint flashed a notification:

"You have acquired the Light Firearms Proficiency Scroll."

Light Firearms Proficiency Scroll. Rarity: Light Blue Effect: Grants you mastery of the basic ability advancement: Light Firearms Proficiency LV1. Requirements: Agility must be no less than 15 points, Perception no less than 10 points, Strength no less than 8 points. Description: Scroll-type abilities are usually divided into three tiers: Mastery, Proficiency, and Specialization. Specialization scrolls are the rarest but offer the best improvement upon use. Additional Notes: Light Firearms Proficiency LV1 allows you to skillfully master the use of pistol-class/light submachine gun-class firearms, setting fixed accuracy (ten-ring hit rate on a 50-meter target) at 85%, and moving accuracy at 45%. Ammunition reloading speed is increased by 10%.

"Agility... no less than 15 points?" Fang Senyan's eyes widened. To be honest, he was quite fond of that .500, and he was definitely envious of the image of Little Ma Ge in a black trench coat, machine gun in hand, hitting every shot. Thus, seeing the description before the scroll, his heart was greatly moved. But the moment he saw the requirement of at least 15 Agility, he froze. One must remember that in this world, because Fang Senyan was a newcomer, all his attributes had been enhanced by 50%, bringing his Agility to only 9 points! How could he bridge such a massive gap?

"HIT." Fang Senyan cursed in frustration, tossing the scroll onto the table. He then discovered a further prompt on the back of the scroll: You must have your Basic Ranged Combat skill leveled up to LV4 or higher to fully utilize the benefits of Light Firearms Proficiency. This undoubtedly made him even more dejected.

Fang Senyan hadn't felt this sensation of soaring expectation being doused by icy water in a long time. Because of this gloom, Fang Senyan paced around the room with a furrowed brow, glaring at the scroll with an expression of deep grievance, wishing he could snatch it up and tear it to shreds two or three times over.

But as he paced, Fang Senyan suddenly understood: wasn't this very sense of setback and failure what he desired? Wasn't this life full of challenge and stimulation what he had always yearned for deep down?

He pulled a bottle of red wine from the adjacent cabinet, took a long swig, and burst into loud laughter, instantly feeling relieved. With a slight, knowing smile, he pushed the feeling to the back of his mind.

Although his body was tired, Fang Senyan had no intention of sleeping. The events of the day battling the two Terminators replayed one by one in his mind. Amidst the feeling of exhilaration, there was also a lingering taste of lingering fear. The two Terminators he first encountered seemed to have obvious weaknesses; in fact, even if their artificial skin was damaged, exposing the metal skeleton, contact with water would not cause a short circuit. The places where the two Terminators fought today were those already pierced by the power of the temporal rift, which is why that low-level malfunction occurred. What should he do if he encountered a 100% functional Terminator next time? Fang Senyan genuinely had no clue.

After summarizing the gains and losses of the battle, he casually turned on the television nearby, sat on the sofa, and ordered some late-night snacks. Suddenly, an emergency broadcast news item caught his eye:

"Los Angeles has recently seen a surge in crime, and the public security situation has deteriorated significantly. According to insights from crime experts, this is likely related to the recent rampant activities of Colombian drug traffickers and the Mafia. At 9:13 PM tonight, two criminals infiltrated an apartment in the fourteenth district of Los Angeles, attempting to commit a crime against the resident, Mordecai Samson, but were immediately killed by guards stationed in the area."

"Mordecai Samson?" Fang Senyan suddenly felt the name was somewhat familiar. This was the time to put that thick phone book to good use. After a non-complex search, Fang Senyan's expression immediately darkened, because written right next to the name Mordecai Samson was the title: Senior Engineer at Cybdyne Systems—this fellow was the chief designer of the "Skynet" system later on!

It was clear that the two individuals who were killed were most likely Contractors who had also entered this world. These two probably had some knowledge of the movie's plot and had keenly sensed that Mordecai Samson, a key figure who had not yet garnered attention, held enormous secrets and benefits.

Regrettably, since the Los Angeles police could deploy the military's Delta Force to maintain order in critical moments, places like Cybdyne Systems, which had close ties with the military, must also possess extremely elite secret service protection—this was entirely logical. It was the same principle as how Qian Xuesen, the nuclear weapons expert, was secretly guarded 24 hours a day by a force like 8341 in his time.

(Note: The First Guard Regiment was renamed the 8341 Unit by the Chairman himself; the name reportedly also carries mystical significance. The Chairman lived to be 83, and from the Zunyi Conference in January 1935, when his leadership was formally confirmed, until his death in 1976, he held power for exactly 41 years, totaling 8341. The appointment of the main leaders of this unit required the Chairman's personal approval; no one else had the authority to appoint them. Every time a new recruit joined the 8341 Unit, the Chairman would personally receive them... Of course, later rumors claimed that the formidable Zhongnanhai Bodyguards were their alias.)

Watching the two bodies covered in white sheets being loaded onto a vehicle on the television screen, Fang Senyan narrowed his eyes. He was certainly no fool, and the principle that greater risk equals greater reward was deeply ingrained in him. He could deduce that if he managed to eliminate—or even control—Mordecai Samson, a figure crucial to Skynet's birth, he would undoubtedly reap immense rewards. In other words, the judgment of these two attackers was sharp, but they attempted something beyond their capabilities and paid the ultimate, heavy price.

"The final deadline for returning is around four o'clock tomorrow afternoon; what should I do in the meantime?" Fang Senyan leaned back on the sofa, thinking lazily. It seemed this world was filled with opportunities everywhere, but behind every opportunity, immense danger still bared its fangs.

Just like the unexpected Terminator pursuit today; Fang Senyan had merely intended to scout the area beforehand but ended up drawing out the two terrifying future assassins, Terminator T-750s. Even though Fang Senyan was prepared, he still had to fight a desperate, near-death battle to achieve victory.

Of course, it must be noted that Fang Senyan only encountered such immense risk after choosing to actively engage in combat. The missions assigned currently offered a great deal of flexibility, leaving participants with wide latitude in their choices.

For example, regarding the two Terminators encountered during the day, if a Contractor felt their strength was insufficient, they could easily choose not to confront them head-on but instead evade and flee, stalling until the police and the Delta Force arrived to contain the threat, thus completing the mission safely, albeit without extra rewards—the bearded man probably did just that. Of course, the conservative approach yielded no extra benefits.

"If my deduction is correct, then as the most critical factor in Skynet's birth—Cybdyne Systems—there might also be a regional mission nearby, likely triggered by a Contractor entering the company area with high-powered weaponry. Then Skynet’s automated defense functions would be successfully activated. However... judging by the fate of those two unlucky fellows on the television just now, fighting in that vicinity would very likely mean facing a dual assault from FBI agents and Terminators!"

"Forget it..." Fang Senyan took a sip of red wine, shaking his head slightly. He was well aware of his own strength; if he ran into a Terminator T-750 head-on, his chances of winning were only about fifty-fifty. If other forces intervened, survival would be a near-impossibility.

Moreover, for a system like Skynet, which possessed intelligence, would it foolishly send out two more T-750 Terminators to their deaths after the previous two were killed? This meant that if Fang Senyan were to activate such a regional mission again, he would very likely face two T-750 Terminators, or perhaps even their evolved version, the T-800!

Courage is a virtue, but recklessness is foolishness. The gruesome fate of those few men was still fresh in his mind, and Fang Senyan had no intention of following in their footsteps. Therefore, he chose the most prudent plan:

"Cybdyne Systems is out... but Buster's Steakhouse is still worth a visit."
