With a soft hiss, the muzzles of five pitch-black guns simultaneously spat out long tongues of fiery red muzzle flash, yet the sound registered in the ear as a single report. The precision training of the Delta Force was evident; they weren't aiming at Fang Senyan, but at a two-story villa roughly a hundred meters behind him. Instantly, a human body tumbled backward out of a window there, clothing shredded and scattering, still trailing remnants of blood and flesh. Yet, this body managed an aerial backflip, raising a uniquely shaped "Uzi" submachine gun to aim back across the distance.

"Rat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat! Rat-a-tat-tat!"

In a flicker of light, the large police vehicle was suddenly wreathed in smoke, revealing a neat row of perfectly aligned bullet holes! Having taken the concentrated fire from the Delta Force, the figure somehow managed to adjust its balance mid-flight and counterattack! Even more terrifying was that the Uzi, typically a close-quarters weapon due to its high rate of fire, delivered such precise, level fire at a distance of a hundred meters. Its sheer defensive capability and mastery of marksmanship were astounding!

Who was this man?

The dark silhouette immediately dove into a blind spot upon landing, frustrating any pursuit from the Delta Force. In the blink of an eye, another figure leaped from the window of the distant two-story villa and sprinted toward the Delta Force position in a desperate dash. Fang Senyan recognized this man instantly—it was the bearded figure he had brushed past when first entering this world.

“Right, I remember getting a prompt when I approached this area, saying I was the second Contractor to activate the regional branch storyline here.”

Fang Senyan’s eyes narrowed, flashing with a cunning light. Seeing that the police and Delta Force were entirely preoccupied elsewhere, he felt no immediate urge to flee. His mind raced:

“So, this bearded man must have been the first to activate the area mission? And that dark shadow that dared to take direct fire from Delta Force—was that... a Terminator? It seems the T-750 models dispatched by Skynet have different specializations. Clearly, the one I encountered excels at close-quarters combat, and firearms seem to be its weakness since I never saw it use one. Therefore... this Terminator specializing in shooting must be weak in close combat?”

In that brief moment of hesitation, the large police vehicle sped away without stopping, heading directly toward the landing site of the first T-750 Terminator. Just as Fang Senyan was about to twist the accelerator on his motorcycle, he spotted scattered droplets of blood on the ground. A thought struck him, grasping at some crucial detail. He didn't linger, instead steering his motorcycle in a wide arc into a narrow side alley.

Fang Senyan dismounted at the end of the alley and pried open a nearby door. The owner was clearly absent, saving him considerable trouble. He made his way to the bathroom, thoroughly washing off all the grime and blood from head to toe, then stripped and tended to his own injuries in front of the mirror. Only then did he begin to examine the unfamiliar information feedback he had received after killing the melee-focused T-750 Terminator.

The first priority was the Summoning Key. Fang Senyan held it, scrutinizing the object. Besides resembling an ordinary key, it possessed a muted grayish-blue color and a distinct sheen, like stainless steel. The surface was etched with dense, intricate patterns, giving it the feel of futuristic technology layered with the patina of deep history.

Fang Senyan attempted to focus his consciousness onto the key. It emitted a soft glow, and immediately, a chest appeared before him, its color identical to the key’s surface. The box was about the size of a large suitcase. He inserted the key into the lock; without needing to turn it, the lid automatically sprang open. Inside rested two items:

Cobalt Steel Alloy Exoskeleton (Left Hand Component) (Incomplete) Origin: Skynet Ninth Assembly Line, Michigan. Equipment Rarity: White. Equipment Effect: Increases your unarmed attack power by 3–33 points. Equipment Requirement: Strength 10, Stamina 8. Equipment Slot: Hand. Material: Cobalt Steel Alloy, hardened. Attachable Device: Flesh-Plastic Sheath (Function lost). Magnetic Weapon Detection and Adsorption System (Lacks necessary components). Weight: 4.8 Kilograms. Length: 352 millimeters. Weapon Special Effect: Has a chance to ignore enemy defense during attacks. Repair Count: 0/1 (Repairing may upgrade equipment grade). Evaluation: This thing isn't hard to repair—unless you can travel to 2029 and make friends with Skynet. Combat Score: 12.

Main CPU Chip (Incomplete) Origin: Skynet Assembly Department 7, Michigan. Item Rarity: Light Blue. Equipment Slot: Miscellaneous/Backpack. Weight: 3.77 Grams. Length: 32 millimeters. Usage: Grants a branch mission. Sale: Grants 400 Universal Points. Evaluation: To some fools, this is trash; to other fools, this is the entire world.

Fang Senyan looked at the two items and, without hesitation, equipped the Cobalt Steel Alloy Exoskeleton. The appearance, however, was quite bizarre; it looked as though his entire left hand had been replaced by an oversized, skeletal metal gauntlet reminiscent of a Terminator—similar to the hand covering when a Saint Cloth is donned. Fortunately, he soon discovered the Nightmare Imprint provided a camouflage ability; as long as he wasn't engaged in combat, the equipment could be disguised as an ordinary glove, eliminating the worry of shocking onlookers on the street.

Upon touching the Cobalt Steel Alloy Exoskeleton, the Nightmare Imprint also prompted: Do you wish to attempt repairing this equipment using available materials? Yes/No. Inquiry confirms you currently possess no repair capabilities, and only rudimentary tools and materials are on hand. The success rate for repairing this equipment is 0.03%. Repair Attempts 0/1.

Fang Senyan naturally selected 'No.' This equipment only had one repair attempt, and wasting it meant it was gone forever. Even if he were foolish, he wouldn't gamble on a 0.03% chance.

He then swung his left fist a few times, feeling a definite, substantial boost to his striking power, and nodded with satisfaction. Afterward, he picked up the incomplete chip, immediately triggering a prompt from the Nightmare Imprint asking if he wished to accept the associated mission. Fang Senyan hesitated briefly, then chose to accept.

Branch Mission: Contact. Difficulty Factor: F. Mission Objective: Deliver this chip to Engineer Vincent at the Cyberdyne Systems Corporation. Mission Hint: Engineer Vincent always takes his three meals a day at the Buster Steakhouse on the right side of the company building. Mission Advice: Vincent is a stubborn and paranoid individual; attempting to persuade him is a futile endeavor. Mission Deadline: None.

“Cyberdyne Systems Corporation?” Fang Senyan’s memory was excellent, and he immediately recalled that this was the company that manufactured "Skynet." This corporation maintained extremely close ties with the US military in numerous high-tech fields, granting it an exceptional status across America. This mission required him to deal with a senior engineer from this very company?

Fang Senyan pondered briefly and decided to shelve the task for the time being. Before tackling this mission, he needed to gather more intelligence on Cyberdyne Systems and that Engineer Vincent. The sudden triggering of the Terminator incident had been unexpected, so caution was not misplaced; this approach might help him avoid numerous dangers while potentially gaining significant extra rewards.

At this moment, Fang Senyan received another prompt: “You single-handedly killed Terminator T-750. Do you wish to spend 100 Universal Points to acquire detailed data on this model of Terminator? Yes/No.”

Fang Senyan hesitated. Although he had a general understanding of the T-750’s capabilities, after careful consideration, he chose to acquire the detailed data anyway. After all, it would surely help him understand the world's final Boss—the T-800 Terminator. Even obtaining a single valuable piece of information from this data would make the cost worthwhile. Upon confirming, a new box immediately popped up before his eyes, listing the relevant detailed information.
