This was a crude and squalid room. The sheet beneath him, ostensibly white, was actually yellowed and marred by large, inexplicable stains. The surrounding furniture was aged and simple, coated in a thin film of dust. The ceiling felt oppressively low, making the space feel stifling, almost robbing one of breath, while the broken clock on the wall indicated the time as four fifty-one minutes and four seconds past the hour.

"My injuries... seem to have vanished completely?"

Fang Senyan opened his eyes on that very bed. He didn't rush to rise, instead taking a moment to meticulously sift through the bizarre sequence of events he had just endured. Only then did he undo his shirt to examine the strange mark on his chest before sitting up.

Even as a child, he had exhibited a composure and shrewdness beyond his years, but now, fully concentrating, he displayed a profound stability and competence he hadn't shown before. Yet, he felt no sense of jarring abruptness regarding the preceding strange experiences; rather, there was a smooth, inevitable flow, even an undercurrent of wild ecstasy, as if he had been through this countless times before.

The floor of the room was equally filthy, littered with numerous beer bottles. These bottles were brown, with thick waists and slender necks, their labels entirely in English. Although the bottles looked quite new, in Fang Senyan’s eyes, they carried a profound sense of age. He picked one up and saw clearly inscribed upon it: 1984, Milwaukee Beer.

"What is this?" Fang Senyan paused, slightly startled. He was a man adept at social navigation, having made several friends during his time as a sailor. Especially as he was soon to be promoted to First Mate, his social sphere had broadened considerably.

One friend, Williams, whose family was in the steel business—a genuine second-generation heir who spent money like water—had a peculiar hobby: collecting various beer bottles. He had once hosted a party to proudly display his collection, which included everything from the earliest 1874 bottle of English Fuller’s to bottles from China’s first brewery, the Urulubrevsky beer bottle. These bottles were now valued at over one hundred thousand dollars each.

This particular Milwaukee Beer bottle was part of that collection. At the time, the beer had a significant reputation, touted as the "Super Beer," and once dominated the Colorado market before being acquired by Anheuser-Busch in the late 19XXs. Because its bottle design was considered highly stylish back then—even influencing the shape of bottles produced by the Coca-Cola Company—its collector value had remained consistently high.

Staring at the clearly freshly produced Milwaukee Beer in his hand, Fang Senyan’s suspicion deepened. Had he been transported back to America in 1984? Was the power behind that mysterious voice so immense that it could traverse time itself? Then... what exactly did the mysterious voice mean by completing enough tasks?

Suddenly, a faint tap-tap-tap sound echoed in the silent room, emanating from a table in the corner. Fang Senyan immediately sprang up from the bed, turning his head alertly. Having already taken several lives, his readiness for combat was palpable.

The faint sounds came from an extremely old typewriter on the table. Though no one was physically striking the keys, the mechanism moved on its own, and clear script rapidly appeared on the yellowing paper beneath:

"Contractor No. 1018, welcome to the Nightmare Space."

"This is your first Nightmare World experience—the world of The Terminator."

"As this is your inaugural Nightmare World, if you do not understand aspects of this world, you may consult the relevant materials next to you. Note: Under normal circumstances, only this world grants this privilege."

"Warning: You may interact with plot characters, but you must not, in any manner, attempt to reveal information about the Nightmare Space or the real world to them."

"Warning: You must complete the assigned Main Mission within forty-eight hours, or you will be eliminated."

The word eliminated was specially highlighted, glaring as starkly as fresh blood, immediately inspiring a sense of ominous finality, suggesting that this was definitely not a favorable outcome.

"Main Mission: Clear the Temporal Nodes."

"Mission Brief: The Skynet system has long been preparing to send Terminators back in time to assassinate key historical figures. However, to successfully traverse spacetime, a large number of stable temporal nodes must be established within the current time frame to ensure the Terminators are transmitted intact."

"Mission Objective: Eradicate the temporal nodes established by the Skynet system in this world."

"Mission Hint: You are likely to be attacked while clearing the temporal nodes."

"Mission Hint: Upon accepting this mission, you will temporarily possess innate True Sight, allowing you to see through disguises and directly perceive the temporal nodes."

"Hint: You can acquire the following Milestones in this world (including this world and its extensions)."

"The Just": Completing the final step of a Main Mission without harming any innocent individuals.

"The Butcher": Accumulating the killing of over one hundred innocent civilians across Terminator series worlds. (This Milestone can only be completed using melee attacks; your damage to the civilian must exceed 50% of the total damage dealt to qualify for statistics.)

"Enemy of Machines": Accumulating the killing of over three Terminators. (Your direct cumulative damage to that Terminator must exceed 50% of the total damage dealt.)

"Electrifying": Sarah Connor’s Favorability Rating toward you exceeds 50 points.

"Friend of Sin": Accumulating the killing of fifty police officers. (Your direct cumulative damage to that Terminator must exceed 50% of the total damage dealt.)

"........."

"The following Milestones are unavailable due to insufficient Merit Points."

"Acquiring the relevant Milestones will unlock corresponding Titles."

"Each Contractor may possess multiple Titles, but only one can be equipped at any given time. Titles grant various special effects, and in most scenarios, you cannot change your Title once combat begins."

"Warning: From the moment you accept the mission, you will face immense danger. Conversely, behind immense risk lies equally great opportunity."

Fang Senyan read this sheet over and over, examining it meticulously three times, as if trying to dissect every character, absorb it into his very being. Then, he closed his eyes for a moment to think before turning to look beside the typewriter.

There lay a magazine.

The magazine appeared brand new, jarringly out of place against the filthy, aged surroundings. The word "Terminator" on the cover was perfectly clear.

This was clearly the relevant information for this world. And judging by the Mission Brief, this was a courtesy afforded to those entering the world for the first time. This meant that, barring unforeseen circumstances, it wouldn't be available next time.

July 30th, 2029, 2:23 AM. John Connor, leader of the Human Resistance forces, led a contingent of special forces from California in a fierce assault on the Skynet base. On July 31st, in the early morning, after suffering massive casualties, the Resistance forces successfully captured the Skynet base. Connor and Resistance Lieutenant Reese, disregarding the danger, rushed toward the core area. At that moment, Connor saw a T-800 robot vanish in a flash of lightning!

After a cursory examination, Connor discovered this was a time machine, sent back to 1984 with the objective of killing his mother, Sarah Connor, in order to create a temporal rift and alter history. Reese volunteered to protect Sarah Connor, and Kyle Reese himself plunged into the still-open time tunnel, saying just before he left: "Trust me, I'll be back!"

Two days later, John Connor emerged from the base himself. On August 5th, the Resistance Headquarters officially declared Reese "missing."

May 12th, 1984, 1:52 AM. The T-800 model robot arrived in the present day via the time machine. At 2:01 AM, Reese arrived in the present day via the time machine. Because population records had been destroyed in the war, Skynet could not find detailed information on Connor's mother. The two men, pursuing different objectives, began searching for Sarah Connor using the telephone directory. On that day, the first Sarah Anna Connor and the second Sarah Louise Connor—both named Sarah Connor—but neither was the mother of the future leader.

The killer robots arriving from the future world were collectively known as: Terminators. The story began here.......

Although this information was incomplete, Fang Senyan was already familiar with the world of The Terminator. This data aligned generally with his own memories, thus confirming one thing: he had been sent back to 1984, the world of the first Terminator movie! In that case, the information stored in his memory could certainly be put to use.

As Fang Senyan familiarized himself with the mission, the script typed by the machine on the paper gradually faded, appearing as if it were dissolving or evaporating into the air. However, he could recall the contents at any time via the tattoo—the Nightmare Mark—on his chest, and he could pose questions to it as well, though whether he would receive a satisfactory answer was uncertain.

Once the Main Mission was confirmed, a rapidly pulsing red number appeared before Fang Senyan: forty-eight hours, with five minutes and thirty-one seconds remaining until his official entry into the Terminator world. Below the countdown was a series of menus that sprang open as soon as Fang Senyan focused his mind:

"Time: May 12th, 1984, 11:00 AM."

"Location: Los Angeles, Michigan, USA. (42°19' N, 83°02' W)"

"Scene: The Opening Act of The Terminator."

"Difficulty: Extremely Easy (E Rank)"

"Pain Attenuation: 70%"

"Personal Ability Enhancement: 50%."

"Current Scene Exploration Rate: 0.31%"

"Supplementary Note: This scene is a peace zone; Contractors killed will not drop any items. The Digital Character Information module is simultaneously active. Contractors may check their personal attributes via the Nightmare Mark on their chest at any time."

"You will automatically master the relevant language and can interact fluently with the world's characters. This knowledge will be forgotten upon leaving this world."

"Missions Accepted: 1"

"Your appearance has been modified and will automatically revert upon returning to the real world. You may also adjust appearance settings within the Nightmare Space. If you have questions, you may silently recite them via the Nightmare Mark to query. If your access level permits, you will receive an answer."
