Only moments later, Chu Xuan finally guided the Green Goblin Glider out of the seawater. The air outside remained scorching hot, and distant, orange-red fireballs could still be seen burning incessantly. The gigantic bee-like insects had not ceased their assault; just as anticipated, they were unleashing their fury upon the warships monitoring the island from the coastline. Of course, the first casualties were the fortified buildings on the shore, where soldiers were already screaming in agony, and countless troops began surging toward the insecticide deployment zones near the barbed wire fences.

After rising from the sea, Chu Xuan piloted the Glider directly toward the nearest warship. However, to evade radar tracking, the Glider flew almost skimming the surface of the water. This was agony for the three people dangling beneath it; they were completely tossed about on the water’s surface. Fortunately, it was the darkest hour before dawn, and the distance made it difficult for those on the warship to easily spot any movement on the water.

The Glider continued toward the closest warship at this altitude and speed. It was a Battlecruiser, the largest vessel in the fleet. The warship was currently in an uproar, spotlights constantly sweeping the surroundings. Not only that.

The four of them also spotted several surface-to-surface missiles being erected on the warship, ready to bombard the shore at a moment's command.

As they drew ever closer to the warship.

Zheng Zha suddenly felt a wave of danger pierce up from beneath his feet—a chilling intent of death.

Without a second thought, he roared toward Chu Xuan, “Ascend!” Chu Xuan reacted with equal speed, rocketing the Glider skyward instantly.

With the Glider’s superior performance, it burst upward more than ten meters in an instant. Simultaneously, a massive circular orifice appeared on the ocean surface. The teeth within this orifice were as thick as a middle finger, densely packed, filling the entire maw. When the owner of the orifice finally revealed its entirety, they saw it was a colossal starfish, or perhaps a sea-star-like creature.

Had that strike connected, the group would have been instantly shredded into mince meat; this much was evident from the terrifying orifice alone.

The three swallowed hard, exchanging glances that sent chills down their spines. Other fates were acceptable—dying in battle, for instance.

Being shot dead.

Or even being killed in direct confrontation—these held little resistance for them. After all, among the four present, one had no concept of fearing death, another had long ago cast life and death aside, and the remaining two were battle-hardened military types who lived on the edge. Death itself wasn't frightening; what was terrifying was being chewed to death by such an orifice, knowing exactly how they were going to die. This kind of end was simply too horrific.

Chu Xuan’s voice cut through, “We’ll proceed at this altitude, then, though everyone might have to take a bit more risk…” Before he finished speaking, the Glider violently accelerated, reaching its absolute maximum speed. The rushing wind buffeted them, and then the massive warship loomed directly ahead.

Zheng Zha silently counted the time and distance. When they were about five hundred meters from the warship, he bellowed, “Attack! Commence fire!” Simultaneously, the Hyper-Explosive charge he had held for so long was armed and thrown. A violent explosion instantly erupted at the center of the warship. Soldiers within a radius of several tens of meters were engulfed by the bomb’s immense force, and the warship’s main cannon at the epicenter was completely destroyed. However, the charge failed to detonate the ship’s surface-to-surface missiles or any other ordnance—that was the only flaw in the execution.

Tyrant’s tubular pulse-launcher roared to life. The weapon’s power found its maximum expression descending from the air. The massive force of the projectiles rained downward. When the needle-like rounds struck the warship’s surface, an appalling sound of tearing metal echoed across the deck, traveling from the deck all the way to the ship’s keel. It sounded as if a giant cleaver was brutally ripping the vessel apart. Whether the bullets pierced entirely through the warship was unknown, but under Tyrant’s frenzied barrage, all personnel on the deck were easily shredded, and much of the deck-mounted weaponry was also torn apart by the rounds’ intense power. Under Tyrant’s sweep, the entire warship seemed no different from a model ship enduring a bombardment, utterly failing to convey its might or defenses as a huge maritime weapon.

Zheng Zha and Wang Xia stared at each other in shock. Although this weapon was labeled high-tech, its destructive power was terrifyingly excessive. Moreover, it was high-tech with infinite ammunition, which further amplified its capability. A continuous sustained assault might allow Tyrant alone to contend with an entire warship.

Tyrant’s firing was fierce and direct. As the Glider swept over the warship, his rounds scythed across almost the entire circumference of the deck. Furthermore, the terrifying projectiles directly struck several surface-to-surface missiles. Instantly, a horrific torrent of explosions erupted on the warship. By the time the Glider cleared the ship, the three felt a wave of thermal energy wash over them from behind. A massive cloud of flame soared into the sky. When they looked back, the entire port side of the warship was engulfed in a fiery inferno; the port half was virtually annihilated into dust, and internal detonations began slowly spreading throughout the vessel. Before long, the warship began to list slowly toward the sea surface.

Aside from Chu Xuan, the other three felt a degree of dread regarding the power of the weapons they held. This was especially true for Tyrant and Wang Xia. First, there was the terrifying power of Tyrant’s firearm—its capability was frankly astonishing. Though dubbed a high-tech weapon, its destructive force surpassed that of many energy weapons, and its range and rate of fire were equally terrifying. Assuming infinite ammunition, this weapon was the undisputed king of mid-to-long-range combat. Wang Xia, however, was unnerved by the explosive yield; a tiny charge could easily affect an area spanning tens of meters—a power comparable to a miniaturized nuclear bomb. If a nuclear warhead were scaled down to the size and mass of that single charge, its explosive power would hardly be greater. Worse still, he possessed many such timed demolition charges. In essence, given sufficient planning and the Green Goblin Glider, he alone could sink a warship.

Chu Xuan suddenly commented, “…Tyrant, your muzzle must be extremely hot, correct?” The three looked toward the tubular pulse-launcher in Tyrant’s hands and indeed saw the barrel glowing incandescent white. The temperature at the muzzle was clearly far hotter than red-hot steel. Yet, the weapon’s composite metal was peculiar; even under such extreme heat, there was no trace of softening or melting—a true testament to future high-tech ballistics.

“Tyrant, stop using your gun. The weapon’s original firing cycle included a few seconds of firing followed by a cooldown period for reloading. But an infinite ammunition weapon eliminates the reload cooldown. Continuous use will cause excessive metal fatigue. So, if you don't want this gun to break down, I suggest you refrain from using it for the next half hour.”

Chu Xuan said this calmly as he steered the Glider toward another Battlecruiser not far away.

“Wait, hold on! Didn’t you just say Tyrant’s gun can’t be used right now? Then what are we going to do?” Zheng Zha exclaimed in shock.

Chu Xuan replied coolly, “Didn’t you hear the ‘Main God’s’ prompt? Each of us received 1000 reward points. And sinking one warship might be dismissed as an accident. But what about two? Since we already took one out, adding another won't make much difference, right?” Chu Xuan’s words did not falter, and the Glider continued its relentless dash toward the second warship.

That warship had already fixed all its spotlights on them. Several carrier-borne attack helicopters took off. Moreover, a dense barrage of battleship fire rained down crazily upon the four. Fortunately, the Glider’s maneuverability was exceptionally superb, and Chu Xuan was currently operating in a state where his genetic locks were released. Despite the bombardment, he continued to pilot the Glider, weaving through the air and pushing straight toward the warship.

Tyrant repeatedly attempted to squeeze his trigger, but seeing the distinct white glare from the muzzle, he lifted the gun several times only to lower it again. Simultaneously, surface-to-air missiles launched from the warship. These missiles were already programmed with tracking sequences, and combined with the air-to-air missiles fired by the attack helicopters, nearly ten missiles converged on the group. They were still two kilometers away from the incoming ordnance.

Zheng Zha’s eyes suddenly glazed over in a vacant stare. He aimed his rotary cannon toward the tracking missiles. The trajectory of every missile seemed to be calculated and displayed in his mind. Then, he pulled the trigger on the rotary cannon aimed at the missiles.
