Behind him, a massive, ten-foot-tall dark brown bear had appeared at some unknown point. This grizzly was enormous; a single, casual swipe knocked out a crater over a foot and a half in diameter where he had just been standing. That wasn't all—the bear roared and charged toward him again. Just as he was about to sidestep, several thorns suddenly erupted from the ground surrounding him, forcing him to meet the heavy impact head-on. The immense force slammed him straight into the steel door behind him. When the dark brown bear finally backed away, he was practically mashed into the steel door and the surrounding wall.

The dark brown bear roared once more and swung its colossal paw down viciously toward Zheng Zha, who was now flattened against the steel door. But before the giant paw could reach Zheng Zha’s body, he thrust out a hand and grasped the paw's thumb. As he wrenched it backward, Zheng Zha’s muscles swelled dramatically. With a mighty shout, he actually hauled the massive dark brown bear into the air and kicked it squarely in its massive mouth, sending the huge creature flying several meters away.

Just as Zheng Zha prepared to rush forward and engage the bear in a desperate fight, another figure suddenly charged in. Two fists, one aimed high and one low, struck toward his head and chest. Left with no choice, Zheng Zha could only raise his arms to block the two blows.

The fists struck like iron pillars. After just those two blocks, his arms were already going numb. He used the force of those two punches to leap backward, finally getting a clear look at De Chai, who was now standing there. He oddly sported four arms, and an identical second head had appeared near his original one.

De Chai and Zheng Zha began trading blows.

The dark brown bear unexpectedly spoke in human language: "Captain, truly worthy of being your main body. That combat power is certainly something to behold. The reaction speed is startling, and the strength is even greater than mine. I fear both De Chai and I will have to put up a serious fight to take him down."

The scarred Zheng Zha ignored the bear and muttered softly, "Your development directions for both of you are decent, but having only entered the Demonic Reincarnation Squad for three horror movie worlds, your attribute enhancements... and your use of those attributes are still clumsy. For example, as a Druid, your strongest transformation enhancement should allow you to become a Western Dragon, a beast over thirty feet tall. That form would allow you to easily handle any horror movie world that isn't some inexplicable war scenario. Take De Chai, for instance; his fighting spirit is still rudimentary, and his double-head, four-arm configuration is far from sufficient. Once his fighting spirit strengthens, combined with the enhancement for three heads and six arms, his close-quarters combat will be terrifying. Use him as a training dummy. If you die, it only proves your strength is lacking. Dying sooner might even be better. Of course, I can use the Scripture of Resurrection to bring you back. The required reward points and sub-plot points can be covered by the team jointly, but this resurrection opportunity is only available once. If you don't want to waste this chance, then kill him!" The massive dark brown bear seemed genuinely afraid of the scarred Zheng Zha. It let out a roar and then lunged at Zheng Zha again, this time using even greater force. The ground seemed to tremble with its sheer momentum as it ran.

Zheng Zha was about to retreat when several stone spikes suddenly erupted behind him. Looking up at the winged Zheng Zha, he saw that figure holding the thick, black Necronomicon. He appeared utterly unconcerned by the fight below. However, every spell cast by the winged figure completely disrupted Zheng Zha’s next move, leaving him only able to absorb their attacks head-on. For instance, this time he was violently slammed into the stone spikes, causing him to let out a loud cry and spit up a large mouthful of blood. This impact had indeed caused internal injuries.

(No, continuing like this will only lead to being worn down to death by their rotation tactics. Also, Zhan Lan's scanning is disabled, which means their scanning must be disabled too. There must be a way!) With his mind made up, Zheng Zha took the calculated risk of being hit by the giant bear’s paw, turning his back to the massive creature. He then pushed off the bear’s body with his feet. Simultaneously, the bear’s massive, thick paw struck his back, sending him flying off the skyscraper’s roof like a broken kite. Under the watch of the three figures, he struggled to flip over, orienting his face downward.

The giant dark brown bear muttered, "Is that it? Too weak, isn't he? Someone at this level dares to confront our Demonic Reincarnation Squad—" Before the bear could finish its sentence, it was suddenly struck by an immense force and sent flying. The scarred Zheng Zha now stood exactly where the bear had been.

The man spoke with chilling indifference, "You dare call yourselves members of the Demonic Reincarnation Squad? Don’t think your meager strength qualifies you. In my experience, no more than four people in this entire team deserve that title, and you are absolutely not one of them. You’re only slightly stronger than an average Reincarnation Squad member. Look at your bear-like state..." The scarred Zheng Zha seemed to realize his last word was ill-chosen, as the Caucasian man, Francois, indeed looked like a bear. The dark brown bear scrambled up from the ground, wiped the blood from the corner of its mouth, and stood rigidly without daring to move.

The scarred Zheng Zha spoke impatiently, "To become true members of the Demonic Reincarnation Squad, you must continuously become stronger, perpetually stronger. Currently, only myself, Chu Xuan, and Zhao Zhuikong in the entire team are qualified for that designation. Do you know why we, the weaker ones, managed to enter the horror film first during the last collision with the Celestial Team? It was because we were weighed down by weaklings like you. Damn it, we only managed to retreat without a fight thanks to Chu Xuan’s intellect. For now, wipe out the entire Zhongzhou Team first. Francois, De Chai, you two use that Green Devil Skateboard. Make sure that once you find him, you tie him down relentlessly so he absolutely cannot escape. I don't want the Dark Cage to become our team’s cage. That’s final."

With that, he spread his fleshy wings and soared off to track his quarry into the darkness below the skyscraper.

As for Zheng Zha, he had been propelled into mid-air. He furiously adjusted his body to face downward, completely shifting his center of gravity. Simultaneously, he retrieved the Air Cannon from his storage ring. At this moment, he was not using his full Genetic Lock state. In this current state, he rapidly estimated his distance from the ground. Upon reaching a certain altitude, he slammed the button on the Air Cannon. Only when he was mere meters from the ground did the shockwave blast out, driving toward the earth. The recoil force simultaneously propelled Zheng Zha upward from the ground. By the time he landed, his downward velocity had become extremely high, allowing him to stand firmly on the ground. However, the ground beneath him cracked and shattered; the Air Cannon’s shockwave had pulverized the immediate area into rubble.

Only then did Zheng Zha let out a long breath, immediately followed by coughing up another large mouthful of blood. Those previous evasions were all thwarted by the stone spikes, forcing him into several consecutive, direct collisions, and those impacts were with the incredibly powerful dark brown bear. Compounded by attacks from the four-armed, two-headed Muay Thai fighter, under such fierce assault, an ordinary person would have been flattened into a meat patty. The only reason he wasn't dead wasn't because they held back, but purely because he was tough and resilient. He had barely survived their linked assault.

(Guerrilla warfare then. I need to seize that flying skateboard while I have the chance, or I won't make it back in time to save everyone.) Zheng Zha knew that given the current situation, the Demonic Reincarnation Squad had likely already dispatched teams to pursue Zhan Lan and the others. Even if he rushed back now, it might be futile, but a sliver of hope remained in his heart. He would absolutely not give up until the very last moment. No matter what, he had to try and stop the other group; otherwise, he wouldn't die peacefully.

Thinking too much now was pointless. Zheng Zha engaged his Genetic Lock to the third stage and constantly reviewed Zhao Yingkong's stealth movements and techniques in his mind. Before the sound of the skateboard flying overhead reached him, he had already silently slipped into the dark smoke, becoming utterly soundless, without even a trace of killing intent. He merely lay in wait quietly in the darkness.

Not long after, the sound of the skateboard slicing through the air finally echoed from above. Two figures stood on the board—both large, stout men. Squeezed onto the board, they were clearly both very uncomfortable. De Chai was jostled a few times by Francois, and he finally couldn't stand it, jumping down from the board. He declared, "I'll search below. Damn it, I'm not a homosexual."

Francois laughed heartily, "This is about individual endurance, isn't it? If my endurance were worse, I’d be the one jumping down now. Hahaha, thanks, De Chai. I finally get to use the board alone, hah!" The Caucasian man piloted the skateboard, skimming back and forth about twenty to twenty-five feet above the ground, performing various maneuvers as he went.

De Chai called up loudly, "Be careful not to get killed, or the Captain will be furious!" He watched Francois gradually move away, then shook his head helplessly and started walking down the alleyway.

(He likely has a Psychic Chain connection, so I must kill him in an extremely short time frame.) Zheng Zha remained stealthily hidden. Only after De Chai passed behind him did he silently follow, walking deeper into the alleyway.

Leaping towards...
