"To brave the cycle of reincarnation and thus achieve eternal existence?" Luo Feng murmured, this so-called 'braving the cycle' likely being a grand secret of the Sea of Universe.
"However, it is still incredibly distant for me."
Luo Feng pushed all thoughts aside, peering through his golden domain but finding nothing exceptional within this grain of sand space. Then, he departed the space, riding the Star Tower.
He searched the molten lava flow cavern for a long time afterwards, but his good fortune did not strike again. From the messages left by the powerhouse Jiefanzi and Zhenshuang from some long-forgotten reincarnation era, it was clear that the lava flow cavern region was already part of the core area—a zone where even the most powerful beings in the universe could perish.
"I was lucky enough to discover a mere trace left by Jiefanzi from a distant era; that is fortune enough."
This core land was not a place I could carelessly venture into at my current stage. If the Star Tower were to become trapped somewhere, never to return, regret would be useless. Luo Feng immediately turned back, retracing his path through the familiar cave passage.
The return journey was entirely smooth.
Having clearly marked the path before, Luo Feng and the Star Tower made quick progress, arriving back at the "Winged Space." Ignoring the shrill curses of the "White Winged Spirit," he spent another two months traversing the entire Winged Space before finally reaching the original entry cave.
Upon reaching the body of water, Luo Feng had no inclination to search for treasures; he immediately set his course back to the Original Universe.
One month later, in the Original Universe, within Human Territory, on Earth.
Inside a casual restaurant in a city on the Asian continent, a young man with black hair, dressed in leisurewear, sat in a corner, sipping tea from a pot and cup—pouring for himself alone.
"This investment in the Moya star system—joining forces with that star system's local emperor was meant to make things easier for many endeavors. Giving him 10% of the shares was a huge mistake! This star system's local emperor is simply too greedy, constantly siphoning money... Hmph, he really thinks because we're far from the Qianwu Universe Nation, we can't touch him. Hmph, playing him to death would be too easy!
If this weren't a test from the family, with every move under scrutiny, I would have already orchestrated his downfall through the upper echelons long ago."
"Still short, just a little more to become an Domain Lord."
"It's not easy, is it? To be able to have children on Earth, I bribed three life planets!"
Various conversations drifted from the surrounding tables.
Hearing this, Luo Feng couldn't help but chuckle. Those living on Earth were the elites and great families descended from the lineage of Earthlings; one could draw this conclusion just by listening to the trivial talk in a single restaurant.
"Ah Feng." A voice sounded.
Luo Feng looked up.
A middle-aged man, appearing remarkably humble, approached, smiled at Luo Feng, and sat down opposite him.
"Wei Wen," Luo Feng returned the smile.
"They can't hear us?" Wei Wen glanced around nervously.
"When we speak, our presence won't even register in their minds," Luo Feng stated directly.
"Impressive." Wei Wen gave him a thumbs-up.
"Well, you should see who I am," Luo Feng teased.
"You are formidable." Wei Wen conceded. "Who doesn't know that Luo Feng is utterly incredible?"
"Why choose this place?" Wei Wen asked.
"To listen more, to observe more. Those living on Earth are the elite of the Earthling lineage. From their conversations, I can gauge the general situation of the entire Earthling race," Luo Feng explained.
Wei Wen nodded.
"Wei Wen, why are you still stuck at Domain Lord Tier Nine? The resources I gave you... it should have been easy for you to cultivate to Undying." Luo Feng reflected on their close bond—they had grown up together like brothers, comparable to his relationship with Luo Hua. When Luo Feng served as the Supervisory Emissary for the Qianwu Branch, Wei Wen was already a Star Traveller. He quickly advanced to Universe level, and with the supplied resources, Luo Feng ensured his parents, wife, brother Luo Hua, and Wei Wen could all reach the Undying level. In contrast, his sons, Luo Ping and Luo Hai, faced much stricter requirements.
As for his grandchildren and countless other descendants of the Luo family... they had to rely on themselves.
There were no more endless supplies. For the brothers Luo Feng had befriended on Earth back then, while closer ties afforded more help, it was still limited.
"Isn't there still plenty of time?" A Domain Lord can live for a million years; I'm not rushing yet." Wei Wen chuckled. "Alright, alright, I'll reach Sector Lord soon enough."
"That's the spirit."
Despite his continuously rising status, Luo Feng never put on airs with his own brother. Because their relationship remained one of equals, Wei Wen, though aware of Luo Feng's elevated standing, could converse quite casually since Luo Feng always treated him like an ordinary person.
They drank tea and chatted until dusk before parting ways.
Walking the streets, Luo Feng’s thoughts drifted wildly.
"I have three matters before me now."
"First, I need to reclaim the White Wing. However, that requires tempering my will—reaching the will of a Universe Supreme Being. The Three Great Fated Lands all have places to hone one's will."
"Second, Jiefanzi's hidden treasure. Jiefanzi, oh Jiefanzi, I know your power was immense. It was one thing to leave the map and token in the core area of the Qinfeng Realm, but leaving your relics and treasures deep within the Universe Boat—isn't that just torturing me?"
"Third is Teacher Primal Chaos Master. Judging by the broken White Wing, and the fact that Jiefanzi and Zhenshuang from the distant reincarnation era sought the cycle of reincarnation, it seems even Universe Supreme Beings have numerous burdens. For Primal Chaos Master to expend so much energy cultivating a disciple, even gifting him an ultimate treasure, I can't believe he has no hidden agenda," Luo Feng mused inwardly.
Luo Feng kept Primal Chaos Master’s potential schemes in the back of his mind.
Though he respected and trusted Primal Chaos Master, he needed to maintain a degree of vigilance, lest he be fooled into helping someone else achieve their goals.
"Primal Chaos Master's matters are still far off. Regardless, the stronger my strength, the more means I have to deal with various predicaments," Luo Feng reasoned. "Right now, the focus is enhancing combat strength."
"Reclaiming the White Wing."
"Moreover, the White Wing is damaged and requires swallowing massive amounts of precious materials to recover. Jiefanzi's remaining treasure is perfectly suited for restoring the White Wing," Luo Feng's plan seemed sound, but clearly, both the White Wing and Jiefanzi's treasure were hard to obtain. Jiefanzi's token itself was placed in a perilous spot previously.
It was in the core area of the Qinfeng Realm. "Luckily, I was fortunate enough, riding the Star Tower against the current in the cave, to stumble upon that treasure."
But retrieving the treasure from the 'Universe Boat' would allow no such shortcuts.
There was a map, but he would have to venture there himself!
"Hmm!"
"In that case, I will conveniently choose the Universe Boat as the place to temper my will," Luo Feng decided. "Before making a move, I need to gather more intelligence on the Universe Boat. That is one of the Three Great Fated Lands. Venturing deep inside, even Primal Chaos Master might perish. I cannot act rashly."
Jiefanzi's remaining treasure was clearly not intended for any disciple, but for a powerhouse of a similar level.
Because of where they were placed—both the Qinfeng Realm core area and the depths of the Universe Boat—even Primal Chaos Master wasn't confident he could reach them safely.
"Reincarnation."
"It seems the depths of the Qinfeng Realm harbor reincarnation."
"Perhaps many treasures left behind by past Universe Supreme Beings, or remnants from those who failed to brave reincarnation, are hidden deep inside," Luo Feng surmised that the core area likely held artifacts from previous Universe Supreme Beings, but he dared not seek them out recklessly.
Luo Feng began collecting data on the Universe Boat.
In the vast Sea of Universe, within the inner domain of the main peak of the Qinfeng Realm, two figures stood amidst howling cold winds.
"Primal Chaos Master, whether you fight today or not, you must fight." A figure clad in golden armor, possessing three faces and eight arms. Each of his eight arms held a divine hammer, varying in size, and invoking a secret technique that caused a massive phantom image of a great hammer to materialize behind the golden armor.
"Secret technique phantom?" Primal Chaos Master looked from a distance, clad in golden robes. "You are from the Purple Moon Holy Land. I haven't seen you, nor have I heard any records of you. You must be making your first venture out of the Holy Land Universe. Perhaps you chose me as your opponent for your trial battle?"
The Sea of Universe had two major Holy Land Universes.
The smaller one was known as the Purple Moon Holy Land.
"As expected of Primal Chaos Master. Yes, my trial battle is against you." The golden-armored figure had three faces—a ferocious one, a benevolent one, and an indifferent one. At this moment, the ferocious face was directed at Primal Chaos Master. "If I choose, I choose the strong. I disdain picking on weaker Universe Masters."
"Truly troublesome. Let's begin," Primal Chaos Master replied.
"Good. I must see just how powerful the Primal Chaos Master, so famous among the strong ones of my Holy Land Universe, truly is." The golden-armored figure instantly vanished into nothingness and commenced his attack.
"Rumble..."
It was like a gigantic wheel slowly turning. The eight divine hammers, large and small, dissolved into blurry phantoms, merging with the phantom image of the great hammer behind the figure, solidifying into an impossibly colossal divine hammer! The hammer moved slowly, crushing every inch of space, causing it to annihilate.
"Starting immediately with the ultimate secret technique," Primal Chaos Master shook his head slightly.
"Chaos, open." Primal Chaos Master met the attack with one palm.
His hand rapidly expanded, transforming into a massive, golden palm, within which a universe began to gestate, giving rise to myriad energies like the five elements, metal, wood, water, fire, earth, wind, lightning, thunder, light, and darkness.
"Clash!"
The gigantic golden palm slammed directly into the world-destroying great divine hammer.
"Boom!"
The massive divine hammer instantly shattered and dissolved. The golden-armored figure, still gripping the eight hammers, was flung far back, crashing into the howling cold wind in the distance, freezing him instantly. Then, with a loud crack, the ice shattered, and the golden-armored figure emerged, crying out hoarsely, "Powerful, truly powerful! Worthy of the title Primal Chaos Master, worthy of the Ancestor calling you the next most promising candidate to become a Universe Supreme Being! I was defeated by your opening palm strike; I was arrogant!"
"Boom!"
A streak of light flashed, and the powerhouse was gone.
"The next most promising candidate to become a Universe Supreme Being?" Primal Chaos Master muttered softly, shaking his head with a sigh. "The Universe Ancestors of the two Holy Land Universes—none of the three reincarnation eras have seen them. For the Purple Moon Universe Ancestor to say such a thing about me causes the Universe Lords emerging from the Purple Moon Holy Land to constantly seek trial battles with me."
It was too frequent.
Primal Chaos Master often encountered challengers from the two Holy Lands. In terms of divine body, he was far inferior to beings like the Star River Master; his physical body was only average in volume, incomparable to heaven-defying special lifeforms.
But his combat power was universally acknowledged as immense! And he was considered highly likely to become a Universe Supreme Being.
"Chaos, Chaos."
"Hahahaha! I struck great fortune! By sheer chance, I obtained a Great Axe, an ultimate treasure, and it has successfully recognized me as its master! Hahahaha! Tell me about the other Universe Lords of the human race! This is a massive event for our entire human race! Hahahaha!" Just then, Giant Axe Creator sent a message to Primal Chaos Master in the virtual universe.
"An ultimate treasure? Giant Axe obtained an ultimate treasure?" Primal Chaos Master was instantly beside himself with excitement. This was a monumental occasion for the entire human race. Forgetting everything else, he immediately relayed the news to the other Universe Lords of humanity.
Soon, Luo Feng, Dark Lord, Void Gold Master, and others all received the news, each one utterly shaken and exhilarated!
PS: Two chapters complete! Tomorrow is Saturday...
Recently, some readers have been dissatisfied with the pacing. Tomorrow, during the rest day, I will reorganize the plot points.
Regarding the complaints in the review section that Luo Feng found relics too easily, suggesting he was too lucky: I must explain that there have been too many Universe Supreme Beings throughout history, dying in successive waves; their numbers are vast. Therefore, discovering small tokens or hints left behind is quite common.
