Xue Tian looked at Qin Fen as if staring at a monster: "The Federation hasn't explored that yet. Are you talking about aliens that only exist in science fiction novels? Check the Terrorist Watchlist website. There's some relatively simple information there. If you complete several missions and are interested in becoming a bounty hunter for terrorists, you can apply for a license. Or, just become a mercenary. That way, you can access deeper networks where the bounties for terrorists are higher, and the personnel and intelligence are much more complete."
Qin Fen nodded slightly. It seemed there were many ways to make money in this world that he hadn't known about before.
"So? After demobilization, why don't you join me as a mercenary? We have brains and skills that the other guys lack, so we can be the best mercenaries! What do you say? Decide now! The more annoying and dangerous the job, the easier it is to earn big money. We could get rich!"
Qin Fen looked at Xue Tian again, always feeling like the guy had a pair of dark horns sprouting from his head and a long, thin black tail behind him—exactly like the devil tempting mortals toward corruption in legends.
"I'll consider it..."
Just then, the elevator doors slid open. Xue Tian whispered expectantly, "I'll wait for your partnership anytime."
The concert was entering its final countdown phase. Because of the Curve Blade organization's sneak attack on the bodyguards of the Fei Xin Girl Group, the entire Seoul police system was on high alert.
If a terrorist attack were to occur during this highly publicized anti-terrorism concert, it wouldn't just be a resounding slap in the face to the Seoul police, but also a resounding slap in the face to the Federation.
Qin Fen followed Phoenix into the intensely prepared concert venue and noticed quite a few police officers concealed in the shadows. The security here had clearly been significantly upgraded. Furthermore, judging by the basic hidden sentries, the person commanding the security detail here was quite seasoned.
It was a shame that the combat strength of these police officers didn't quite meet the requirements for optimal formation deployment; there were still some minor gaps.
On the massive stage, hundreds of people bustled back and forth. Among the backup dancers, some radiated a palpable police aura, clearly officers positioned among them.
What drew the most attention on stage wasn't these backup performers, nor the men in dark suits, their faces grim with killing intent, ever vigilant like professional bodyguards.
It was a woman! A beautiful woman dressed in sharp, coffee-colored business attire, clutching a walkie-talkie and constantly issuing directives.
"You! Faster, faster!"
"Lighting, why isn't it ready? Didn't you eat enough this morning?"
"You backup dancers, your movements need to be more standardized! This is a top-tier concert! Not some small unit's social gathering."
"You are...?" After issuing several commands, the woman finally noticed Qin Fen's group.
Or rather, she noticed Phoenix! Phoenix, in her crimson ladies' suit and carrying an LV bag, was in no way inferior to the commanding woman in terms of aura, looks, or bearing.
"Spec Ops."
Phoenix replied simply.
"Oh? Why are you only arriving now?" The commanding woman had a very strong presence. "Go check the surroundings first. See if there are any ambushes or safety hazards."
Phoenix smiled and walked onto the stage, her eyes fixed directly on the other woman. "Manager, right? Hyping and packaging stars is your expertise. Safety matters are not for you to order around." A wave of distinctly displeased tension rolled out.
Phoenix said nothing, her hawk-like eyes coldly pinning the other woman. People from the military were not to be bossed around by some manager.
The two stared coldly at each other. Qin Fen vaguely sensed the intense collision of the two women’s auras.
Phoenix, having served in the military for years, possessed an unyielding, iron-blooded military pride. The female manager, having commanded others for years, was equally accustomed to asserting authority and met the challenge head-on, showing no weakness.
Xue Tian covered his mouth with his hand and yawned lazily. "Such a beautiful woman isn't a star? She's a manager? And she carries herself with the assertiveness of a man. Is she psychologically twisted?"
Qin Fen secretly gave a thumbs-up. As expected of someone who hit it off instantly with Lin Liqiang. In this scenario, Lin Liqiang would probably say the exact same thing, right?
The woman clearly didn't have time to pay attention to Xue Tian; her focus was entirely on Phoenix, adopting an attitude of not backing down until she had completely dominated the other.
Qin Fen shook his head, genuinely puzzled. In this situation, how could this woman be so competitive, completely unwilling to temper her personality for the sake of the concert's smooth operation and safety? He couldn't imagine how she had ever succeeded.
The other staff members had clearly sensed the standoff between the two women and were cautiously stepping aside.
It looked like this confrontation would take some time to resolve. Butcher and the others had already begun implementing the arrangements they had made beforehand.
Qin Fen, carrying his large case, didn't immediately head for his sniper position. Going too early would only risk exposing himself.
Xue Tian followed Qin Fen, and Qin Fen walked with Butcher and the others backstage. Since it was a rehearsal, the two stars of the Fei Xin Girl Group should also be present.
Arriving backstage, amidst the crowd, two young women sat quietly. Although Qin Fen had never met members of the Fei Xin Girl Group, he could easily single out these two as the real focus of the event.
Each girl held a sheet of music and was quietly humming along, concentrating intently. Dressed in matching "Chun-Li" style outfits, they were dazzling figures in the crowd. Qin Fen's eyes immediately lit up.
"These two really look exactly alike," Qin Fen murmured in admiration, following Butcher forward.
"Hello. We are here to protect you."
Butcher approached the two girls, his expression as cold as ever.
The two girls looked up at Butcher simultaneously, then both stood up and bowed to him, speaking in unison: "We trouble you."
"Good. We expect your cooperation." Butcher opened his luggage case and took out two exquisitely designed bracelets. "These are 360-degree monitors. I can observe your surroundings through them. Please wear them."
"Okay, thank you."
The two girls spoke in unison again. Qin Fen was somewhat surprised; their demeanor was completely different from the rumors of them refusing autographs.
"Strange, isn't it? I heard they are monozygotic twins," Xue Tian whispered into Qin Fen's ear, sharing his profound knowledge of beautiful women. "I heard they have telepathy and often say the exact same things at the same time."
Qin Fen nodded. These two girls, who looked almost identical, were indeed hard to tell apart.
Butcher laid out several other requirements, which the two girls also fully complied with according to his suggestions.
With all preparations complete, Qin Fen dragged his suitcase over to the pair.
"Are you here to protect us too?"
The two young women looked at Qin Fen with slight disbelief. This person, who seemed to be their age, could at most be a rookie. Weren't the files saying that the protectors assigned were all Special Forces soldiers? A Special Forces soldier this young?
"Yes."
Qin Fen opened his suitcase and took out the stack of white T-shirts he had purchased, along with a black oil-based marker pen.
"Can you sign these?"
Qin Fen offered the T-shirts to the two girls, stunning every staff member present. No one had ever seen anyone like this. Upon meeting someone famous, they didn't profess admiration or affection; they immediately produced items demanding autographs. And not just one item, but dozens of T-shirts! Didn't he know that the manager, Huoniangzi Cheng Yan, forbade staff from asking for autographs?
"Ah? Is this part of your mission too?" The two little girls looked slightly flustered but accepted the T-shirts Qin Fen offered.
Qin Fen paused, then said, "Perhaps you could say, it's my mission."
The two girls didn't understand the implication of Qin Fen’s words. They diligently and swiftly began signing their names on the T-shirts.
After signing about ten shirts, one girl asked curiously, "This mission is strange."
"Can't be helped. I'm poor, and I can't pass up a chance to earn money," Qin Fen said frankly, looking at their curious faces. He didn't want to deceive them. "Your signatures can sell for a good price. T-shirts signed by you can sell for an even better price."
"You're going to sell them?" The two girls, who had been signing, froze instantly, instinctively stopping their work. The surrounding staff members were utterly dumbfounded upon hearing this. To take the hard-won autographs and sell them? Wasting the goodwill of the Fei Xin sisters? This kind of person should be dragged out and executed immediately!
Dozens of vicious, cold glares shot toward Qin Fen. Xue Tian shivered repeatedly, waving his hands frantically. "I have nothing to do with this guy, absolutely nothing. I don't even know him. If any of you decide to make a move, don't hit me by mistake as his accomplice."
Qin Fen completely ignored the angry looks. None of these people had ever known the agony of not knowing where the next meal would come from. So what if he sold these signatures? It was the result of his labor.
"Are you the one assigned to protect us this time?"
The two little girls were also a bit curious.
"Yes, Miss Yaxin," Qin Fen nodded to the girl who had asked.
"Oh? How could you tell me apart from my sister... Oh... You saw our signatures?" The girl was curious at first, then immediately realized.
Qin Fen collected the signed T-shirts. "Yes. I hadn't paid attention to you before, nor did I know your names. I know now, so if we meet again in the future, I won't mistake you."
