"The Fen Tian Mo Clan knelt before my land, their expressions solemn; their bodies bore no indication of the obscure darkness, yet they shone forth brilliantly, originating from the spiritual ripples radiating from the three, already permeating the earth, and still extending deep within Snow Dragon Mountain.
The Yin Gao Clan's bodies differed from humans, their constitutions leaning toward the soft and yielding; their physical structures seemed designed to maximize the power of their souls.
As the three leaders of the Fen Tian Mo Clan, their understanding of the Main Soul and the Sea of Consciousness far surpassed that of Shi Yan, Di Shan, and Yu Rou. Even the God Realm experts of the Boundless Sea would likely concede defeat to them in terms of Main Soul comprehension.
If a direct soul confrontation occurred with them, the God Realm martial artists of the Boundless Sea would almost certainly lose.
Three waves of soul undulations, so subtle that even Shi Yan couldn't detect them, drifted slowly within Snow Dragon Mountain, gradually burrowing toward the mountain’s core and base, seeking to sense any potentially existing frigid yet mystical life fluctuations.
Naturally, various forms of life existed on Snow Dragon Mountain—some level four or five monstrous beasts, and insects hidden deep within the soil. As long as these creatures lived, their life force would ripple outward.
As the Fen Tian Mo trio released their soul waves, they immediately sensed countless lives responding; their spiritual signatures roamed Snow Dragon Mountain, constantly perceiving all manner of living beings.
To find the specific life form Shi Yan had mentioned—one possessing an ice attribute, deeply concealed, and yet incredibly powerful—amidst the countless life fluctuations was not an easy task.
Shi Yan watched the three quietly, refraining from sending the aura of the Profound Ice Chill Descendant into the mountain mass again. However, he also cautiously extended his divine sense deep into the earth, but found nothing.
With his divine sense unfurled and his mind settled, he could perceive extremely faint undulations through the soles of his feet. This tremor originated from the deep earth, as if another mystical heart of the Divine Thought Continent was quietly trembling beneath the ground. Yet, due to the immense distance, it became faint to the point of being almost imperceptible by the time it reached his soles.
But he had sensed it nonetheless.
It was because of this that his Main Soul harmonized miraculously with the rhythm of the Rhyme, causing his Sea of Consciousness to ripple and the elemental light clusters within his body to undergo subtle changes, subsequently breaking through to the third level of the Earth Realm, placing him extremely close to the Nirvana Stage.
Observing quietly without immediate gain, Shi Yan was not discouraged. He naturally refined the spiritual energy of heaven and earth, gathering the surrounding energy toward the Black Kui Lotus Tattoo on his chest, absorbing spiritual energy five times faster than martial artists of the same level, refining it into essence, and pouring it steadily into the essence light cluster near his Dantian.
Without wasting a single moment, he continued to cultivate even during these brief lulls.
Whenever a realm advanced, the physical body's craving for essence would become intensely hungry. At such times, diligent cultivation was crucial for the rapid growth of true essence.
The surging heaven and earth spiritual energy flowed into his chest. Shi Yan secretly perceived the subtle changes occurring within the Black Kui Lotus Tattoo, concentrating on allowing the tattoo to transform that heaven and earth energy… “Tsk?”
A strange, cool sensation suddenly arose from the tattoo on his chest. The ambient spiritual energy surrounding Snow Dragon Mountain converged at the tattoo, and during its hazy transformation, a faint, cool aura began to be released—an aura like cold air that pierced directly into his body.
He perceived it closely.
He could see wisps of cool energy weaving through his meridians, seemingly converging toward the essence light cluster in his lower abdomen.
This cool energy, though not as potent as that emanating from the Profound Ice Chill Descendant, was still distinctly frigid. As it moved through his meridians, Shi Yan vaguely felt that the flow of power within them was slightly sluggish.
“Sizzle, sizzle!” A strange throbbing suddenly radiated through Shi Yan’s body. The cold essence hidden within his meridians began to tangle and refine itself.
“Shh, shh, shh!” Soon, the cool energy that had permeated his body suddenly coalesced into a single stream, forming a small, icy-cold loach weaving through every corner of his body, seemingly searching for something.
This icy spiritual entity darted swiftly, wriggling back and forth within his meridians, incredibly agile and quick.
Shi Yan’s divine sense followed it closely and discovered that the creature, after darting in and out of his body, gradually moved toward the hand holding his Blood Patterned Ring.
“Hmm?”
His heart skipped a beat. Shi Yan dimly realized something and suddenly transmitted a message to the Profound Ice Chill Descendant: “There is an aura similar in nature to yours beginning to move toward that direction. Sense it.” A bone-chilling coldness instantly spread from the Blood Patterned Ring; within a breath, Shi Yan’s finger turned into an icy, crystalline structure.
Faint, minute Profound Ice lightning flickered across his finger and suddenly lashed out toward the small, loach-like frigid entity. Before the little creature could react, the lightning violently enveloped it.
“Roar!”
The small creature, refined from wisps of cool energy, instantly dissolved into a thin, white thread and shot away from his finger, instantly plunging deep into the earth, tunneling downward. “The ice-cold aura below is moving into the earth, follow it!” Shi Yan’s body trembled slightly, and he suddenly spoke sharply.
The Fen Tian Mo trio, sitting cross-legged with closed eyes, abruptly opened them, all looking toward the direction Shi Yan’s finger had pointed. They nodded and intensely pursued.
“It’s coming for me,” the Profound Ice Chill Descendant swayed gently within the Blood Patterned Ring, appearing as a ball of frigid, white flame. “The moment I sensed its aura, it sensed my extreme coldness. This thing is very cunning; it didn't confront me immediately but first dispersed its aura into countless streams, using the time when you were refining the heaven and earth energy to stealthily permeate your body, then recombining within you. Its control over power is not inferior to mine.”
“Ice-cold energy, slippery like a loach…” Shi Yan whispered hoarsely, then his eyes suddenly lit up. “Could it be an Ice Bone Crystal Dragon? Legend says this Snow Dragon Island was once a domain saturated with the essence of an Ice Bone Crystal Dragon. It’s said the former Snow Dragon Mountain was that dragon's lair. Did you sense any monstrous beast aura?”
“Ice Bone Crystal Dragon…” The Profound Ice Chill Descendant chewed the name, seeming somewhat unconvinced by Shi Yan’s assertion. “It doesn't seem like it. Creatures like the Ice Bone Crystal Dragon don't possess high intelligence. Even an evolved Level Eight Ice Bone Crystal Dragon would not wield the power of ice with such exquisite control as that thing. It should not be an Ice Bone Crystal Dragon.”
Since the Profound Ice Chill Descendant said so, Shi Yan did not press the point. His knowledge of monstrous beasts was clearly inferior to the Chill Descendant’s; his understanding of the Ice Bone Crystal Dragon came only from legends Lin Da had mentioned, certainly not as profound as the Chill Descendant’s.
“I just feel that thing is not very similar to a monstrous beast. Monstrous beasts are huge; if it were still within this mountain peak, it should have been easily detected,” the Profound Ice Chill Descendant pondered deeply. “Be careful. That thing’s mastery over the frigid energy is so adept; its true power must be formidable. If it attacks suddenly, it might be difficult to handle.”
Shi Yan nodded silently, remaining inwardly cautious.
While he communicated with the Profound Ice Chill Descendant, the Fen Tian Mo trio continued tracking the strange cold force that had burrowed underground. Shi Yan quietly observed the three and noticed they kept their brows deeply furrowed, seemingly making little progress.
Suddenly, Fen Tian Mo snapped his eyes open, a sharp light flashing in his pupils.
Shi Yan’s expression tightened. “Have you found something?”
Fen Tian Mo nodded, then shook his head. Under Shi Yan’s puzzled gaze, he said, “Indeed, there is a discovery, but it has nothing to do with the ice-cold aura that burrowed underground. Instead, a God Realm expert has descended upon Snow Dragon Island…”
“A God Realm expert…” Shi Yan murmured softly, then gave a faint smile. “It seems we have company. Well, let’s temporarily set aside this matter here and see what sort of company has arrived.”
Zha Meng and Kaba, hearing his words, also retracted the spiritual power they had permeated into the earth. Their expressions were complex, tinged with frustration.
“It’s truly strange. Even the soul probing of the three of us couldn't locate its exact position. Such a life form is extremely adept at concealment; it probably isn’t a low-intelligence monstrous beast,” Kaba pondered deeply. “Fortunately, we are still on this island. Next time, I can try a secret technique, and perhaps we might gain some insight.”
At his suggestion, Zha Meng and Fen Tian Mo seemed to recall something, their eyes suddenly brightening.
Seeing that Kaba appeared somewhat confident, Shi Yan took mental note but did not dwell on the topic, smiling instead: “Let’s go; let’s meet the guests.”
An elderly man in a green robe and a grizzled old fellow walked side-by-side through the void above Snow Dragon Mountain, seeming to tread upon an invisible staircase as they slowly descended.
“This is my first time on Snow Dragon Island. Hmm, quite a few restrictions seem to be laid out here, many of which restrict soul probing. They are indeed quite prudent,” the green-robed elder nodded slowly, speaking to the old fellow beside him. “Do you think the remnants of the Yang family this time really came from the Abyss Battlefield?”
“Yang Qingdi was sealed in the Fourth Demon Domain; that was confirmed by the two Demon Emperors themselves,” the old fellow said with a grave expression. “I have never heard of the Fourth Demon Domain being connected to the Abyss Battlefield. Moreover, even if they were connected, Yang Qingdi could not have escaped. I wonder which God Realm master is on this island.”
“At a time of such sensitivity, the Yang family is causing trouble again. Alas, what a headache,” the green-robed elder shook his head with a wry smile, then a subtle glint flashed in his eyes as he addressed the old fellow. “If they make things difficult for us, perhaps the two of us should join forces and eliminate this hidden danger before the true guests arrive. What do you think?”
The old fellow’s expression turned solemn. “Besides you and me, the member from the Three Gods Cult probably can’t stand still either and might arrive soon. I heard there is more than one God Realm expert here, so if that’s true, we should be extra cautious. However, I doubt there is truly a God Realm expert here. Perhaps it’s just their illusion, mistaking a Quasi-God Realm figure for a true God Realm master.”
“I think so too,” the green-robed elder chuckled lightly."
