The Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover, held tight in his hand, shot out from Nezha’s grasp, heading straight for Chi Yixiu. He resolved to burn this creature to ashes.
Seeing Nezha unleash the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover, Ye Jingyu’s heart lurched, and he prepared to intervene. But Yan Senxu, standing beside him, instantly transformed into a streak of fire and shot forward. His body actually slammed into Chi Yixiu, knocking him aside, and Yan Senxu himself was enveloped by the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover...
Witnessing this scene, Ye Jingyu was struck dumb with shock. Since when had Yan Senxu and Chi Yixiu become so close? To risk his own life for Chi Yixiu?
“That fellow seems to want to absorb the power of the nine fire dragons within that artifact!” Zhurong, who watched from the sidelines, saw the situation clearly and offered an explanation. A look of yearning appeared in his eyes; clearly, he was also intrigued by what was inside. However, constrained by his duty to protect Jiufeng and the others, he did not move to act.
Hearing Zhurong’s explanation, Ye Jingyu finally understood, while the aerial battle raged on overhead...
Nezha’s Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover had been struck aside by a flash of fire, filling him with rage. Yet, he couldn't dwell on it for long. Though this newcomer was a master of the fire attribute, could he really withstand the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover refined by his own Master? The nine fire dragons within held cultivation levels no less than his own. If he entered, he would only become nourishment for them.
Ignoring the issue of the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover, and enduring the throbbing pain in his severed arm, Nezha gripped his Fire-Tipped Spear and charged towards Chi Yixiu. In his heart, he swore an oath: he would utterly annihilate this foe, or how could he ever avenge his lost limb?
Yingkong Shi naturally would not lag behind. The Blue Demon Spear in his hand flashed, and his figure appeared before Nezha, intending to block him.
“Seeking death...” Nezha scoffed coldly. The Gold Brick and the Universe Ring were unleashed simultaneously, hurled at Yingkong Shi. The Universe Bow and the Heaven Shaking Arrow in his hands were once again drawn, and a Heaven Shaking Arrow streaked forth...
Yingkong Shi had loved spears his entire life, cherishing the weapon above all else. Seeing Nezha’s unique spear techniques, he had stepped forward to challenge him, expecting a spear-versus-spear duel. He had never anticipated Nezha would employ artifacts as weapons, and so many at once!
With no time for further thought, he swept his Fire-Tipped Spear, knocking away the Universe Ring, but his shoulder was struck by the Gold Brick, shattering the bone. And that Heaven Shaking Arrow instantly pierced his heart...
A spray of blue blood erupted from his body, and all his strength seemed to drain away rapidly, as if sucked into a black hole. Yet, Nezha showed no sign of stopping. His Fire-Tipped Spear thrust forward—aimed precisely at Yingkong Shi’s brow...
Yingkong Shi...
Seeing this scene, Ye Jingyu and the others felt their hearts clench. Ye Jingyu tensed, ready to rush forward and save him, while Xuanyuan Jing also took a step; the moment Ye Jingyu moved, he would move as well...
Ye Jingyu knew that with Xuanyuan Jing intervening, he would certainly be unable to rescue anyone, and their premature actions would only throw the battlefield into chaos. This was Yunjing City, home to the citizens of the Southern Cloud Empire. How could he allow disorder here?
Though Chi Yixiu possessed immense strength, his speed was lacking. Even though he was closest, he stood absolutely no chance of intercepting that spear thrust...
Was Yingkong Shi truly about to die?
Just as the spear was about to pierce Yingkong Shi’s brow, a black light shot out. It lightly tapped the tip of the Fire-Tipped Spear, just enough to deflect its trajectory. However, the spear grazed Yingkong Shi’s ear, shattering it, and his body dropped straight down. Fang Zhuguo and others rushed out without hesitation, pulling him back to safety...
Seeing that his strike had failed to kill Yingkong Shi, Nezha grew even angrier. He turned and saw Liang Xiaokou floating over with a grin; his injuries were already more than half healed, but his Spirit-Binding Silk had been shredded by the Immortal Trapping Sword...
The Immortal Slaying Sword, the Destruction Immortal Sword, the Immortal Trapping Sword, and the Immortal Ending Sword—these four malevolent swords circled around him, exuding a palpable, sharp killing intent...
Chi Yixiu also stopped to the side, his eyes fixed on the Universe Bow and Heaven Shaking Arrow in Nezha’s hand. The power of those arrows was considerable...
Nezha was battling four great generals of the Southern Cloud faction alone, exchanging one maimed arm for one severely injured foe and another trapped within the Nine Dragon Divine Fire Cover. On the surface, it seemed he had gained a tremendous advantage, but only he understood that this was a humiliation, a profound disgrace.
Who was he? Nezha, the Great God of the Third Lotus Platform, renowned since the War of Investiture, an absolute powerhouse who achieved physical sainthood. Later, he was appointed Third Prince, one of the Heavenly Court’s most formidable generals. Even when the Monkey King caused havoc in the heavens, Nezha could be considered gloriously defeated. But now, to be wounded by these youngsters, beings he always viewed as mere ants—how was this not a monumental shame?
The pure Immortal Energy within his body surged, and the arm severed by Chi Yixiu began to regrow at a visible rate. In a short time, it returned to its original state, with only a slight paleness to his complexion.
Seeing Nezha preparing to attack again, Liang Xiaokou dared not be careless. With a single gesture, the Diagram of the Immortal Slaying Array manifested, and the four malevolent swords soared into the air. Ten thousand beams of sword energy tore through the void, instantly forming the Immortal Slaying Array. Chi Yixiu retreated, already inside the formation of the four swords.
“Nezha brat, do you dare enter the array to fight!” Liang Xiaokou shouted loudly towards Nezha from within the Immortal Slaying Array.
Nezha paid no mind to such insults. To be called a brat by a mere zombie fueled his rage. The Wind Fire Wheels beneath his feet spun, and he plunged directly into the Immortal Slaying Array.
Seeing Nezha actually dare to enter the Immortal Slaying Array, Liang Xiaokou was first startled—surprised that he truly dared enter—and then delighted, happy that he could now rely on the array’s power to bully him a bit.
If his cultivation was inferior, he could only rely on the Immortal Slaying Array.
However, Ye Jingyu, watching from below, frowned deeply. He did not believe Nezha was truly brainless. Despite his arrogant nature, he would never rush into the Immortal Slaying Array, which had shocked the Three Realms, without absolute certainty. Did he possess some hidden trump card?
The crescent moon wheel on his forehead slowly emanated a gentle silver light, seemingly trying to discern something. Yet, for some reason, he felt as if something was obscuring his vision, leaving everything hazy, unable to grasp what might occur.
“Nezha brat, take this...” Liang Xiaokou’s figure vanished into the grand formation, unleashing the full might of the Immortal Slaying Array. In an instant, countless streaks of sword energy shot toward Nezha.
Facing the howling torrent of sword energy, Nezha merely sneered. With a grab, he produced a banner from an unknown source. It was engraved with numerous tadpole-like script characters, and it was unclear what material it was made of. Facing the roaring sword energy, he simply waved the ancient banner. Immediately, he felt an incredibly strong power erupt—like a torrent—shattering the ten thousand beams of sword energy. Even Liang Xiaokou, who was operating the array at full power, was jolted by the backlash, spitting out a mouthful of blood, his face filled with utter horror. What artifact was this? How could its power be so immense? It could shatter sword energy directly?
“Insignificant clown, how dare you act presumptuously before this god! What do you think of the power of the Pangu Banner!” After shattering Liang Xiaokou’s incoming sword energy with one sweep, Nezha wore a triumphant smile. If he hadn't possessed this Pangu Banner, bestowed by the Grand Pure Lord of Heaven (Yuanshi Tianzun), how would he dare enter the Immortal Slaying Array? Back then, this menacing array terrified the Three Realms; unless one was a major Sect Leader, anyone who entered was doomed to be annihilated.
Pangu Banner? The Pangu Banner, possessing the greatest power? Liang Xiaokou’s heart turned cold with terror. This was surely a super-artifact on the same level as the Four Immortal Slaying Swords, possessing the supreme power to shatter the void. No wonder it could so easily blast away his sword energy.
Knowing of this famous artifact, Liang Xiaokou once again frantically activated the Immortal Slaying Array, sending countless sword energies toward Nezha again. Both were innate supreme artifacts, and he had deployed the Immortal Slaying Array first; he refused to believe he couldn't subdue this fellow.
“Although the Immortal Slaying Array is the number one killing formation in the Three Realms, what fraction of its power can you exert in your hands? You think this little bit of might can kill me? You must be too naive!” Facing the sword energy shooting toward him once more, Nezha laughed coldly, continuously waving the Pangu Banner in his hand, smashing the incoming energy to pieces. Meanwhile, the Immortal Energy within his body was rapidly depleting.
However, after cultivating for so many years, his Immortal Energy was supremely pure and vastly immense. Since the Pangu Banner was gifted by the Primeval One (Yuanshi), the restrictions on its use must have been removed; he didn't need to expend much Immortal Energy to wield it.
Not a single beam of sword energy managed to strike Nezha’s body. He moved as if traversing an uninhabited realm, walking step by step toward Liang Xiaokou, who stood on the altar.
The Immortal Slaying Array was unpredictable; logically, Nezha should not know the location of the altar. Yet, for some reason, Liang Xiaokou felt that Nezha’s eyes seemed to see right through him. No matter how the formation shifted, the distance between them steadily closed.
Could it be because the Grand Pure Lord of Heaven had imparted the secrets of the Immortal Slaying Array to him?
The thought that the Grand Pure Lord of Heaven and the others had once entered the Immortal Slaying Array reminded Liang Xiaokou of the truth, but even if he knew, what good did it do? Should he simply retreat?
In the clash of armies, morale was paramount. Yingkong Shi had nearly been killed; their morale had already plummeted. If he were to flee now, how could they possibly continue the fight later?
This thought agitated Liang Xiaokou, yet he was helpless. He could only desperately draw energy from the Haotian Pearl, channeling it into the Immortal Slaying Array to increase its power further...
Just as Liang Xiaokou and Nezha were locked in a stalemate relying on the supreme artifacts granted by the two great Sages, the battle in the skies was rapidly approaching its conclusion... .C
