Li Yundong and Su Chan reached the main hall entrance, only to hear a commotion erupting behind them, punctuated by cries of alarm.

Su Chan couldn't help but stop and glance back. She saw everyone crowding around Shen Wancai, looking utterly panicked and craning their necks. The young girl asked in surprise, "Yundong, it looks like someone has fallen ill. It's President Shen!"

Li Yundong also looked back. He shook his head subtly. "This President Shen has too tyrannical a nature and is excessively demanding. Earlier, I noticed his complexion was sallow, his eyes were shadowed, and a significant portion of his hair was already white. For a man his age, that’s far too much gray. It’s clear his liver and kidneys are failing. And just now, I saw him drink so much, coupled with his poor control over his temper and emotions. Drinking while enraged injures the liver, severely depletes qi and blood, leading to a relapse of his heart condition..."

Su Chan hesitated, then asked, "Yundong, should we save him?"

Li Yundong sighed softly and replied, "The Nine Revolutions Jade Dew Pill I offered earlier was the perfect panacea to save his life, but regrettably, he refused it..."

Su Chan started slightly. "Then we aren't saving him?"

Li Yundong looked at the scene of utter disarray in the hall. He remarked to Su Chan, "This is his fate; it cannot be forced!"

Su Chan cast a sympathetic glance toward the people inside the hall. Especially as she glimpsed the eyes-closed Shen Wancai through a gap in the crowd, she sighed inwardly: You refused a pill more potent than Dragon Liver and Phoenix Gall when it was offered. Now look... Perhaps Yundong is right; this is simply his destiny?

Just as the two were about to walk out, they suddenly saw a fire-engine red Lamborghini sports car approaching. Li Yundong froze upon seeing it. "President Cao? She came too?"

But quickly, the car stopped right in front of him and Su Chan, and it was Yin Mengfan who alighted. Yin Mengfan jumped out anxiously and hurried, spotting Li Yundong and Su Chan preparing to leave. "Ah, Li Yundong, you're here? Am I late? Are you leaving already?"

Li Yundong looked back, shook his head, and smiled sympathetically. "Not too late. You can still offer President Shen a final farewell."

Yin Mengfan was utterly confused. She looked into the hall and was instantly startled. "What's going on?"

Li Yundong smiled but didn't answer, instead pointing at the crimson Lamborghini. "Why are you driving President Cao's car? Where is President Cao?"

Yin Mengfan said quickly and anxiously, "My car is being repaired, so I borrowed hers. Hey, what exactly is happening in there?"

Su Chan explained from the side, "President Shen has had a heart attack. Hurry up and check on him; perhaps... this is the last time you'll see him!"

Yin Mengfan turned pale with shock. She didn't even have the presence of mind to chastise Su Chan for being too blunt. "What? How could this happen?"

Li Yundong smiled and said, "President Yin, you should go quickly. Su Chan and I are leaving now."

Yin Mengfan had witnessed Li Yundong's transcendent, almost celestial methods more than once. She knew he was no ordinary person, especially after he had once saved the heart-attack-stricken Cao Kefei. Seeing him intend to leave now made her desperate. "Li Yundong, you can't leave! Hurry up and save him!"

Li Yundong shook his head and said with a meaningful smile, "Some people don't welcome me; I can't help them."

Yin Mengfan stamped her foot. "This is hardly the time for such talk!"

Su Chan couldn't help but quickly explain the situation that had just transpired to Yin Mengfan. Only then did Yin Mengfan understand, but she remained unwilling to accept the situation. "Li Yundong, I know you are an extraordinary man with a generous heart, someone who wouldn't stoop to pettiness like a child, right?"

Li Yundong smiled faintly. "They aren't children; they are close to my age."

Yin Mengfan urged him on, "But you can't just stand by and watch someone die! Do you know why we looked for you when you and Su Chan were at that small hotel last time? It was because I saw you cure Cao Kefei, and knowing my uncle's heart condition, I wanted to ask you to examine him. I forgot to tell you later because of some issues. For the sake of the Buddha, please, just help out, okay?"

Li Yundong felt a jolt. He finally understood why Zhou Qin and the others had appeared at that small hotel when he and Su Chan were first reaching the Foundation Establishment stage.

Su Chan looked enlightened too. She pulled Li Yundong's arm and whispered, "Yundong, in that case, we owe President Yin a huge favor... If it weren't for her, I'm afraid you and I would already have..."

Li Yundong smiled, patted the little girl's hand to show he understood, then turned back to nod at Yin Mengfan. "President Yin, let's go. We'll go in and take a look."

Yin Mengfan was overjoyed and eagerly pulled Li Yundong toward the entrance.

The trio entered the hall only to find everyone tightly clustered around Shen Wancai, none paying attention to Li Yundong’s return.

At that moment, a mature woman whose fading beauty still held a strong allure was kneeling on the ground, cradling Shen Wancai's head on her lap. She looked up and shouted towards Shen You, "Has Xiao Xian not brought the medicine yet?"

Shen You seemed very intimidated by this woman and muttered quietly, "Perhaps there’s too much medicine; she’s still searching?"

The woman sneered, "Is it that hard to find? I think she's hoping the old man dies sooner so she can run wild without restraint, right?"

Shen You’s face instantly flushed crimson. He glanced at the surrounding guests and managed to suppress his anger. "Aunt Zheng, how can you speak like that?"

The Third Madam, known as Aunt Zheng, said with a face full of sarcasm, "Isn't that the truth? In this family, aren't you and she the ones most hoping the old man dies soon?"

Shen You shrieked like a rat whose tail had been stepped on, "Nonsense! We absolutely are not!"

Seeing that Shen Wancai was unconscious and his family was bickering openly in front of outsiders, Li Yundong frowned slightly and asked Yin Mengfan, "Who is that?"

Yin Mengfan whispered, "That is Shen Hui’s mother, and also Shen Wancai's Third Madam."

As she spoke, she noticed a woman of about fifty years old nearby trying to interject softly, "There are so many outsiders here; try to keep your voices down."

Li Yundong asked again, "And who is that?"

Yin Mengfan explained in a low voice, "That is Uncle's Second Madam, surnamed Ma. Uncle’s legal wife suffered a stroke thirty years ago and has been paralyzed in bed, essentially a living corpse—no sensation, no thought. But because she helped him build his fortune from scratch, Uncle has never divorced her. Since he had no heir from her, he took the Second Madam. The Second Madam fortunately bore him three children, one boy and two girls, but sadly, two died, and the surviving daughter is abroad and rarely contacts the Shen family."

"To ensure lineage, Shen Wancai then took the Third Wife, the one speaking now. The Third Wife was very beautiful when young and was greatly favored by Shen Wancai, but alas, she failed to conceive. Out of necessity, Shen Wancai took another woman, Li Xiaoxian. Li Xiaoxian proved fruitful immediately, giving Shen Wancai a son, Shen You. But two years later, the Third Wife also gave birth—Shen Hui. Because Shen Hui was clever and lovable from childhood, she received the most affection from Uncle..."

Li Yundong let out a soft sigh. "The relationships in these large, wealthy households are truly complicated!"

While they spoke softly, the argument in the center raged on. Aunt Zheng sneered, "Can you keep it down? If it weren't for this unfilial son, would the old man have been so enraged?"

Shen You couldn't help but retort angrily, "Am I the only one to blame? Didn't Shen Hui also say things that angered Father?"

Shen Hui, filled with immense regret and terror-stricken tears, heard Shen You say that and couldn't help but cry out, "I know I was wrong! Stop arguing, both of you!"

Shen You became triumphant instantly. "Hear that? She admitted her mistake herself. What does that have to do with me?"

Aunt Zheng flew into a rage. "Nonsense! You started it! Do you think I didn't hear you?"

The Second Madam looked worried and tried to placate them. "Oh, stop arguing, stop arguing!" She turned to look toward Butler Zhang with a sigh. "Hurry and check on Xiaoxian! Has she found the medicine yet? Why is she taking so long?"

Butler Zhang acknowledged her and was about to head upstairs when he heard Li Xiaoxian's voice arrive before she did, shouting, "I'm here, I'm here!"

Everyone immediately looked toward the staircase.

Li Xiaoxian rushed to the stair railing, her face ashen, and said in terror, "All the medicine is gone! I can't find any!"

The crowd erupted in an uproar!

The Second Madam, naturally gentle, couldn't take the shock. Her eyes rolled back, and she began to fall backward, but Butler Zhang reacted quickly and caught her.

Aunt Zheng froze for a moment, then her eyebrows shot up in anger as she roared, "Li Xiaoxian, what kind of garbage are you spouting? I saw half a bottle yesterday! How could it be gone today?"

Li Xiaoxian shot back angrily, "You with the surname Zheng, watch your mouth! Since when is it your place to lecture me in this Shen family?"

Aunt Zheng was furious. She shoved Shen Wancai aside onto the floor, jumped up, and raged at everyone, "Since everyone is here today, let everyone see! This woman has always coveted our Shen family's assets! She's been wishing for the old man to die quickly so she can hoard the fortune! Today, she’s using this opportunity to try and kill the old man! Everyone must clearly see her true face—a human in appearance but a beast at heart! I swear to Heaven, I saw half a bottle of medicine in the old man's vial yesterday. If I have spoken one falsehood, may I be reborn as a whore trampled by a thousand men and mounted by ten thousand!"

The crowd gasped. For a woman to curse herself into such a fate was an incredibly malicious oath. Their gazes immediately turned to Li Xiaoxian with suspicion.

Li Xiaoxian, feeling that Zheng had hit too close to home, her face burning red, grit her teeth and retorted, "You are slanderously accusing me! Since when was this house yours? I, Li Xiaoxian, also swear publicly today: if I have uttered a single lie, may I be struck by five thunderbolts!"

Su Chan watched this scene unfold. She subconsciously recalled the internal strife that occurred when she had first returned to Fox Zen Sect. Already burdened with worries, seeing this triggered her emotions, making her increasingly tense. She gripped Li Yundong's hand, lost in thought.

Li Yundong noticed the little girl's distress but didn't dwell on it. He simply turned to Yin Mengfan and said, "If we let them keep arguing like this, President Shen might actually die!"

Yin Mengfan felt that since she wasn't a direct relative, she was technically an outsider and shouldn't interfere. But now, with Shen Wancai’s life hanging in the balance, the Third and Fourth Madams, who usually didn't get along, were ignoring him to curse and swear publicly—it was utterly improper!

Yin Mengfan couldn't stand it anymore. She stepped forward, embraced Shen Wancai, and shouted fiercely, "Stop arguing! Do you all want Uncle to die?"

Everyone paused upon seeing Yin Mengfan. The Third Madam’s expression softened slightly. "It’s little Yin, isn't it? Good, you’re here. You were here yesterday too, weren't you? Was there still medicine in the old man's vial? Tell us, quickly!"

Li Xiaoxian’s heart tightened, and she immediately snapped, "How would she know? She’s an outsider; why is she butting in here?"

Yin Mengfan also couldn't help but roar, "All of you, shut up! Do you really want Uncle to die?"

Li Xiaoxian secretly wished Shen Wancai would die immediately so that the Shen family fortune would unquestionably fall to Shen You. Then, as a mother exalted by her son, she would have limitless power!

However, the Third Madam did not want Shen Wancai to die. If the old man truly passed away, how much of the Shen fortune she might inherit was uncertain. Furthermore, she always suspected the old man favored Shen Hui and might leave the estate to her. Thus, she harbored a secret, unacceptable thought: with her grand plans not yet realized, Shen Wancai could not die now!

The Third Madam’s heart suddenly clenched. She immediately rushed anxiously to Shen Wancai, gently massaging his chest while shouting loudly to Butler Zhang, "Old Zhang, hurry and call! Call the old man’s private doctor! Quickly! If it’s too late..."

She stopped mid-sentence, her mouth opening wide, the words catching in her throat.

The Third Madam froze, her hand trembling as she moved it from Shen Wancai’s chest toward his neck to check his pulse. Her entire body shook, and her face contorted in terror and despair as she stammered, "The, the old man, he... he... is dead!"

Everyone present was struck with horror!

Just then, the Second Madam was regaining consciousness and happened to hear those words. She immediately fainted again without a sound. The hall plunged into chaos. Only Yin Mengfan remained relatively composed. She shouted, "Quiet, quiet! The old man can still be saved!"

Saying this, she yelled toward Li Yundong, "Li Yundong, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and save him!"

This single sentence caused all eyes in the room to swivel directly toward Li Yundong.
