Zege said with shame, "We have used up all nine of your high-grade energy stones, yet we could only manifest a single pair of wings behind this energy figure; it's far from the six-winged configuration you requested."

Liu Hui inquired, "Only one pair of wings? Is the energy circulation within it operating normally?"

Zege replied, "Those Cygnus scientists said the reason for only one pair of wings appearing is insufficient high-grade energy stones. If they had enough, they could certainly fabricate an energy figure with six wings on its back. However, even with just one pair, the energy within this figure is immense, and the mutual generation and restriction among the nine types of energy stones are producing a potent new energy."

Liu Hui paused to consider. With Alexander currently facing the threat of the Nature Goddess's Emissary, he had no choice but to try this last-ditch effort—to send this one-winged energy angel to challenge the Emissary and see how things unfolded before deciding on the next course of action.

So, Liu Hui said, "Respected Mr. Zege, I'll trouble you to trade this energy figure to me. I have an urgent need for it right now. As for the rest, we can discuss it later!"

That evening, Liu Hui sought out An Qi, ushering everyone out of her laboratory. He then stealthily secured the door, much to An Qi's amusement as she watched his actions, already knowing he was about to unveil a treasure.

Indeed, once they were alone, Liu Hui retrieved the single-winged angel-like energy figure from his spatial storage and placed it before An Qi. Although An Qi had mentally prepared herself, she still couldn't help but gasp in astonishment when she saw the shape of the one-winged angel.

An Qi was surprised, not because the energy figure resembled a single-winged angel, nor because the angel's features were distinctly that of a pure-blooded Huaxia native, but because of the intensely rich spiritual energy fluctuation radiating from it. The moment the single-winged angel appeared, the entire laboratory filled with light, accompanied by a divine, sanctified aura. Despite her exceptionally powerful mental force, An Qi felt an impulse to bow down and worship the moment she saw it. This single-winged angel was immensely powerful, incomparable to the previous energy figure.

An Qi looked at Liu Hui and asked, "What... what is this thing?"

Liu Hui was quite pleased with An Qi's reaction, mirroring his own surprise when he had first traded for this one-winged energy angel from Zege.

Liu Hui explained, "An Qi, this is the energy figure manufactured using a God-grade Energy Crystal Core."

An Qi suddenly understood. "I see. No wonder there's such a powerful spiritual energy fluctuation within it! It's because of the God-grade core! Look closely at the space surrounding its body; it’s already beginning to subtly warp. I can see mysterious energy entering its body from the void with my naked eye."

Liu Hui pressed, "Didn't you say before that the energy figure couldn't allow the battle puppet to exert its maximum combat power? Well, look at this single-winged angel before you. What do you think? Is it capable?"

An Qi grew more excited as she examined it, nodding repeatedly. "Although I haven't run tests or analysis on its data yet, I am certain it can enable the battle puppet to unleash its strongest combat potential."

Concerned for Alexander in the Magic Plane, Liu Hui urged, "An Qi, you've already done extensive research on integrating energy figures with battle puppets and smart mainframes, haven't you? So, I need you to immediately replace the old energy figure with this single-winged angel so the battle puppet can achieve its peak combat function right away. As for researching this new one, that can wait."

An Qi responded, "No problem, I can start this immediately. However, after the single-winged angel, the battle puppet, and the smart mainframe are integrated, it will still require a period of debugging before it can exert its absolute maximum combat power."

Liu Hui asked, "What is the soonest I can have it?"

An Qi calculated, "It should be ready in three days."

Liu Hui pressed, "Can it be any faster?"

An Qi replied sternly, "This is science, Liu Hui; it brooks no impatience or recklessness. I said three days to ensure absolute perfection. Do you want a flawed product?"

Liu Hui immediately apologized, "An Qi, I'm sorry. I was too hasty. Then, please deliver the integrated battle puppet to me in three days!"

That night, Alexander contacted Liu Hui. Alexander informed him that the massive army gathered by the Great Elven King was approaching the territory of the Church of Light, and the two sides were locked in a tense standoff, on the brink of all-out war.

The Pompeian faction, upon hearing the news of the Nature Goddess's Emissary descending, began to waver. Their army's advance slowed, failing to reach the front lines for deployment. Thus, the Church of Light was essentially facing the Great Elven King's allied force of hundreds of millions, along with that terrifying Emissary, entirely alone.

Although Alexander possessed Liu Hui's high-tech weaponry and his army numbered thirty million, he felt panic when confronted solely by such a powerful alliance of Elven races. The Emissary, who could potentially appear at any moment to conduct a decapitation strike against the Church's leadership, only compounded his terror.

After acquiring the single-winged angel energy figure, hope surged back into Liu Hui's heart—he just needed time. He instructed Alexander to stall for as long as possible; three days was all he needed to provide the necessary aid.

This was Alexander's first encounter with a war of such immense scale, coupled with the seemingly invincible Goddess's Emissary, making a degree of panic inevitable. However, once Alexander made contact with Liu Hui and received his affirmative reply, he immediately calmed down, focusing on devising a strategy to manage the crisis—either by delaying the Great Elven King’s assault or preventing the Emissary from directly targeting their leadership.

After that night, Liu Hui worried constantly about Alexander's safety. For the long-term future, Liu Hui even considered telling Alexander to retreat if things became critical; as long as his life was spared, with Liu Hui's continued assistance, Alexander could surely rise again someday.

Unexpectedly, upon receiving Liu Hui's assurance, Alexander's intelligence soared. He initiated negotiations with the Great Elven King, seeking a peaceful resolution to the standoff. Because Alexander constantly presented a facade of weakness during the talks, and the Great Elven King was overly confident in his own strength, he became careless, allowing Alexander to successfully stall for two days.

However, by the third day, prompted by reminders from his staff officers, the Great Elven King finally realized the situation. He issued an ultimatum to Alexander, demanding the immediate surrender of the Church of Light, threatening a devastating offensive otherwise. Furthermore, the Great Elven King warned Alexander that the Nature Goddess's Emissary was fully prepared and could strike down Alexander at any moment.

Alexander faced his most dire predicament, but he still managed to contact Liu Hui to report the desperate situation. Liu Hui was anxious, lingering outside An Qi's laboratory. According to their agreement, the final modification and debugging of the battle puppet would take two more hours. At this critical juncture, Liu Hui could only repeatedly reassure Alexander that help would arrive in two hours, urging him to hold on.

The Great Elven King's final deadline for surrender was only one hour away, meaning Alexander needed to hold out for one more hour to receive Liu Hui's support. Yet, Alexander possessed a blind faith in Liu Hui and decided to push his luck, aiming to stall for two full hours before receiving the assistance.

An hour passed swiftly, and Alexander ceased contacting Liu Hui. Liu Hui knew that the full-scale engagement between the Church of Light and the Great Elven King's army must have begun. He wondered about the current outcome—had the Church been defeated? Had the Nature Goddess's Emissary intervened? Was Alexander still alive?

Liu Hui was beside himself with worry, pacing like an ant on a hot pan. He desperately wanted to contact Alexander for an update but knew that Alexander would be engaged in battle and unable to answer a call.

Liu Hui waited anxiously. Another hour passed. The door to An Qi’s lab opened. An Qi emerged, looking exhausted but with excitement shining on her face. She told Liu Hui, "Liu Hui, I've finally completed the integration of the three components! After debugging, I found the battle puppet is in excellent condition and ready for combat at any moment."

Liu Hui was overjoyed. Entering the lab, he saw a tall, single-winged angel kneeling on the ground, its pure white wings spread out behind it, enveloping its entire body. Currently, no spiritual energy fluctuations could be detected emanating from the angel; instead, mysterious energy continuously streamed into its core from the void.

An Qi explained, "Everything about this single-winged angel is perfect. You can fully control it now."

Liu Hui attached his spiritual sense to the battle puppet and immediately felt the presence of a smart mainframe within. By controlling the battle puppet, he realized he could command the mainframe, which in turn directed every movement of the angel.

Under the mainframe's precise control, the vast spiritual energy of the external single-winged angel flowed into the battle puppet's internal formation, activating the sealed, powerful arcane arts within and unleashing tremendous combat power. Depleted spiritual energy was instantly replenished, ensuring that the angel's spiritual reserves would virtually never run out.

Time was too critical for Liu Hui to linger and study the single-winged angel in detail. He made only simple preliminary settings, bade farewell to An Qi, stored the integrated angel in his spatial storage, and returned to his office.

Liu Hui closed his door and began calling Alexander, but received no response. Liu Hui was deeply worried. The battle must have been raging for at least an hour and twenty minutes by now. What had transpired during this time? Was Alexander dead?

Liu Hui kept calling Alexander relentlessly. After another ten minutes, Alexander finally answered the Plane Trading Device. On the screen, Liu Hui saw a large gash on Alexander’s face, blood flowing freely and staining his entire countenance. Alexander was panting heavily.

Though wounded, Alexander was alive. Liu Hui immediately let out a breath of relief. He said, "Alexander, don't say anything. Let's conduct the trade first."

With that, Liu Hui placed the integrated single-winged angel onto the trading platform and initiated the transaction. Alexander clicked trade as well, and the kneeling angel, currently enveloped by its wings, materialized in the Magic Plane.

Liu Hui spoke quickly, "Immediately smear your blood onto it, and then you can issue commands, tasking it to help you in battle."

Alexander immediately swiped his hand across his face, collecting a handful of blood, which he then placed on the single-winged angel's head. The angel instantly absorbed the blood, followed by a surge of sacred white light shooting toward the sky. The kneeling angel on the ground stood up straight, its wings spreading wide, suspending it in mid-air.

In the initial setup, Liu Hui had designated a secondary master for the battle puppet. Thus, after the recognition ritual, Alexander instantly became the single-winged angel's second master, capable of commanding it in combat. However, Liu Hui remained the primary master, an assignment that could not be revoked.

Upon achieving recognition, Alexander paused only briefly before fully entering control of the angel's detailed functions. But before Alexander could issue a specific command, the room he occupied exploded violently. The ceiling was blown away, and a similarly pristine white-robed figure appeared in the air, staring coldly at Alexander on the ground before raising a hand and unleashing a divine beam of light aimed at him.

Liu Hui gasped in alarm, hearing a chaotic roar of explosions before the Plane Trading Device abruptly shut down, severing his connection with Alexander in the Magic Plane.

The moment Alexander activated the single-winged angel, the Nature Goddess's Emissary had tracked him down. A fierce battle erupted in that room, causing the trading device to cut out, leaving Liu Hui ignorant of the final outcome.

Liu Hui had done everything he could for Alexander; now, it was up to the angel and Alexander's own performance. If they were still unable to overcome the combined might of the Nature Goddess's Emissary and the Great Elven King’s army, there was nothing more he could do.

Liu Hui could only wait silently for the end of this war, as he could no longer influence any aspect of the conflict.

Thus, Liu Hui remained in his office, awaiting the conclusion of this grand war between the Church of Light and the Great Elven King in the Magic Plane. Everything else held no interest for him. Since trading the single-winged angel to Alexander, Alexander had never contacted him again, leaving Liu Hui without any understanding or control over the situation in the Magic Plane.

By the evening of the second day, Alexander still had not contacted him. Liu Hui assumed Alexander had been defeated and killed, believing he had lost access to that resource-rich, Magic Plane version of the Primordial Era plane. Suddenly, his Plane Trading Device vibrated. Liu Hui instinctively answered the call and saw an utterly exhausted Alexander appear on the screen.

Seeing Alexander alive, Liu Hui sighed in immense relief. Regardless of the war's final result, as long as Alexander survived, there remained a chance to stage a counterattack.

On the screen, Alexander, who had looked utterly worn out, suddenly displayed a look of deep respect in his eyes upon seeing Liu Hui. He spoke reverently, "Respected Teacher, with your help, we have repelled the offensive of the Great Elven King's allied forces. And the Nature Goddess's Emissary was slain by your Angel. This time, we have won again."

Hearing of the Church of Light’s renewed victory, Liu Hui finally let go of the anxiety that had held him captive. He asked, "My dear Alexander, how is your body? You look severely injured?"

Alexander managed a weak smile. "Teacher, my injuries are not fatal."

Liu Hui inquired, "You just mentioned that the angel you gave me killed the Nature Goddess's Emissary—is that true?"

Excitement flared across Alexander's face. "Yes, Teacher! Your Angel is incredibly powerful. While the Nature Goddess's Emissary was formidable, he was no match for your angel. Your Angel and the Emissary battled in the sky for a full day and night. In the end, your Angel successfully executed the Emissary. With the Emissary, who was slaughtering our forces, gone, we were able to use your powerful weaponry to repel the Elven army's initial attack."

Liu Hui sighed. "Thank heavens for the victory. Your triumph was hard-won! A battle involving over a hundred million soldiers must have been truly staggering?"

Alexander confirmed, "Indeed. In this large-scale conflict, apart from your Angel, the Dark Mages were the most instrumental. Our current Dark Mage corps consists entirely of mages at level ten or above. Through their desperate summoning, they conjured no fewer than ten billion undead forces. Although these undead armies were weak, mostly cannon fodder, their sacrifice bought crucial time for our electromagnetic cannon units, enabling us to drive back the Great Elven King's first assault."

"When the Great Elven King realized his Nature Goddess's Emissary had been killed by your Angel, he grew fearful and began a slow withdrawal. However, because our Church of Light forces also suffered grievous losses under the Emissary's slaughter, we did not press the pursuit."

Liu Hui asked, "How many soldiers did you lose this time?"

A shadow of sorrow crossed Alexander's eyes. "We began the campaign with thirty million soldiers; we now have fewer than twenty million. The final casualty count is still being tallied, but we are severely depleted. However, the Great Elven King suffered even greater losses, exceeding seventy million troops."

Liu Hui was secretly startled by the sheer scale of warfare in the Magic Plane, where casualties were calculated in the tens of millions as a matter of course. Still, even with a loss of over ten million soldiers, the Church of Light had secured a preliminary victory, which was worth the cost.

Alexander then grew slightly animated. "Teacher, although our losses were heavy, the morale of every believer has soared, because we have finally witnessed the might of the God of Light. Under the guidance of the God of Light, we will surely vanquish the evil Nature Goddess and completely defeat the Elven race that oppresses us humans."

Liu Hui was somewhat impressed. Alexander's proselytizing for the Church of Light had verged on fanaticism; he seemed utterly convinced of the God of Light himself. Yet, this 'God' was an entity Liu Hui and Alexander had fabricated—no such deity existed. But then again, the primary prerequisite for missionary work is self-belief, otherwise, how could one convince others? From that perspective, Alexander showed considerable professional integrity.

Liu Hui asked, "My dear Alexander, how is my angel now?"

Alexander replied, "Teacher, after slaying the Nature Goddess's Emissary, the wings on your angel visibly shrank by one layer. Otherwise, its condition remains excellent, sustaining no damage."

Liu Hui instantly felt completely relieved. The current state of the One-Winged Angel was merely due to overdrawing the spiritual energy stored in the wings behind it; given a period of recovery, it would surely return to its former self. He had previously worried that the One-Winged Angel wouldn't stand a chance against the emissary of the Nature Goddess, so the fact that it had actually slain the goddess's divine messenger left Liu Hui immensely exhilarated.

Liu Hui said, "My dear Alexander, you look utterly exhausted. You should step down and rest now! Only then will you have the energy to handle what comes next. Make good use of the angel I gave you; it will guarantee your safety."

Alexander gave Liu Hui a respectful glance before closing the planar communicator.

Even after Alexander’s image vanished from the screen, Liu Hui remained slightly stunned. He had never expected that the One-Winged Angel, which he had conjured up almost haphazardly, would actually manage to take down the Nature Goddess’s divine emissary. Furthermore, due to the superb performance of the One-Winged Angel, the followers of the Church of Light had become even more devout in their faith toward the God of Light. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks to the book friend: ☆☆ for your support!
