Liu Hui was utterly astonished. "It's the HIV virus, but wasn't that strain only prevalent starting in the 1980s? How could you have manufactured it? Have you been alive in this world for many years?"
The "Professor" recalled, "Indeed, I have lived in this world for a long time—I am older than most of the people in this room."
The "Professor" paused, then continued, "I was convinced that this AIDS virus would quickly eradicate all of you humans, allowing our tribe of chimpanzees to rule the Earth and transform it into the happiest place possible. Since this virus is intrinsically linked to your human reproductive system, there was no way you could evade its deadly attack. But to my utter surprise, the transmission and lethality of this virus were not as effective as I had imagined; it couldn't wipe out humanity immediately. Furthermore, your HanTang Hospital suddenly emerged and achieved the complete cure for this very AIDS virus."
Having heard the whole story from the "Professor," Liu Hui suddenly understood. "So that's how it was. I remember Europeans sneaking into HanTang Hospital back then, trying to steal our top-secret data. That European must have been one of yours, right? And later, someone repeatedly tried to hire assassins through the 'N' killer organization to murder me—the mysterious figure behind the scenes, that was you, wasn't it?"
The "Professor" replied, "Yes, everything you just mentioned was my doing. Because I intended to destroy humanity, but you insisted on saving these people. You severely obstructed my plan, so I had to deal with you. But to my disappointment, the infiltrator failed to steal the secret data, and the assassins from the 'N' organization were useless. Not only did they fail to kill you, but their entire base was wiped out by you, and even their leader, Duoming, died at your hands."
Liu Hui inquired doubtfully, "Since you are such a high-level, God-tier master, why didn't you take action yourself back then? At that time, I hadn't even met Hu Xian'er, so she couldn't protect me, and Zhou Tengyun was just an ordinary person. If you had acted personally, wouldn't it have been easy to achieve your goal?"
The "Professor" sighed, "If I had been a God-tier master back then, I would have stormed in personally and finished you all off; I wouldn't have needed to orchestrate all these schemes. After witnessing the demise of the powerful Duoming, I completely abandoned the idea of hiring others to kill you. I started practicing martial arts myself; I wanted to kill you with my own hands. I no longer trusted the capabilities of you humans."
Liu Hui now grasped why the "Professor" was opposed to him: the "Professor" wanted to kill, while his HanTang Hospital sought to save lives. This completely shattered the "Professor's" grand plan, which is why he listed Liu Hui as his greatest enemy, constantly wishing him dead.
However, Liu Hui immediately thought of another question. "Duoming died only a few years ago. Did you go from knowing no martial arts at all to becoming such an incredible God-tier master in this short time?"
The "Professor" scoffed, "Naturally. That's why I call you humans waste. Your physical bodies are too frail. You need decades of continuous practice, plus exceptional talent and immense luck, to break through and become a God-tier master. I achieved a level even superior to human God-tier masters in less than three years of training. This further proves that our chimpanzee race is better suited to rule the Earth than you."
Hu Xian'er asked, "Chimpanzee 'Professor,' based on the skills you just displayed, it seems you practiced Shaolin martial arts..."
The "Professor" replied, "That's right. My instructor was an old monk from the Shaolin Temple."
Liu Hui and everyone else were stunned. They weren't surprised that a Shaolin monk taught the "Professor," but rather that the Shaolin Temple had never produced a God-tier master. This implied that Shaolin martial arts were not truly orthodox. If the "Professor," learning non-orthodox arts, could become a God-tier master in just a few years, wouldn't he become even more formidable with more time, potentially breaking past the limits of a God-tier master and becoming unstoppable?
The "Professor" suddenly looked crestfallen. "I had a brief meeting with Binar in America last time, and I left him my contact number. Binar then found me through that number, saying he was coming to assassinate you, and claimed that eight God-tier masters would participate in this assassination attempt. I thought the operation was a sure thing, and given the accelerating growth of your 'Star City,' I feared I wouldn't be able to deal with you later, so I let go of my usual caution and accepted Binar's invitation. But who would have thought our operation would still be ruined by Black? I truly cannot accept this."
Liu Hui sighed, "Professor, you and your organization hid so deeply, yet you were foolish enough to expose yourself and walk into a trap. Honestly, if you hadn't exposed yourself, we would never have found your lair or had any way to deal with you. Hidden in the shadows, you posed a much greater threat to us."
The "Professor" sneered, "Liu Hui, the development of your 'Star City' has now severely impacted my plans, especially your research into gene drugs, which renders all my virus research against humanity useless. So, if I don't eliminate you now, should I wait until you are fully grown to seek trouble with you?"
Hu Xian'er scoffed back, "Professor, since you came looking for trouble, don't blame us for not being polite. A loser must accept the reality of being a loser. You can save that grand ideal for your next life! By the way, even in the next life, don't make enemies with us, or it will still be a dead end."
The "Professor" suddenly burst into a strange laugh. "Black, do you intend to kill me? But you cannot kill me."
Hu Xian'er stated, "Killing you would be as simple as slaughtering a chicken. What is there for me to fear?"
The "Professor" chuckled, "Black, do you think I would dare to assassinate Liu Hui in 'Star City' without any backup? You know I am always careful; I must have left myself a means of survival. Liu Hui, do you remember that super gorilla that appeared in 'Star City' last time?"
Liu Hui nodded, "I remember. That super gorilla was over a hundred meters tall, immensely strong, and caused tremendous destruction. But we eventually managed to kill it. What about it?"
The "Professor" said, "Liu Hui, you should know by now that I was the one who released that gorilla, right?"
Liu Hui replied, "Yes, we knew you released that gorilla long ago, but we couldn't find your lair, or we would have eliminated you sooner."
The "Professor" laughed, "Then, do you think we only have one such super gorilla? I made arrangements before I left: if I cannot return in time, the super gorillas in my laboratory will immediately riot. They will escape the lab and enter human society to slaughter you humans wantonly. Remember, those super gorillas are incredibly powerful, and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of them. Once they start fighting, countless humans will die at their hands."
Liu Hui sighed, "Professor, speaking of these super gorillas, I must admire your superior intellect and powerful research capabilities. You actually managed to reverse-engineer the genetic technology hidden within the AIDS drugs by analyzing data on the physical changes of patients we cured, and then you partially deciphered this technology, successfully applying it to those gorillas to create that super gorilla."
A smile spread across the "Professor's" face. "Since you know how formidable those super gorillas are, you should let me go back. Otherwise, even if you kill me immediately, my gorillas can drag more humans to be buried with me. Liu Hui, frankly, I admire you. You managed to develop such perfect gene drugs; even I am envious. If we could join forces, this world would belong to the two of us."
Liu Hui did not respond to the "Professor's" solicitation, chuckling instead, "Professor, you can never deceive me. As far as I know, your genetic technology is fundamentally flawed. Successfully manufacturing one such super gorilla is already remarkable. Saying you have hundreds or thousands more is truly laughable! Besides, if your super gorillas were to cause trouble, they would do it in other countries, and other people would die. What harm would they cause to our 'Star City'? Why would we let you go?"
The "Professor" was momentarily stunned. He hadn't expected Liu Hui to know so much about his genetic technology, nor had he anticipated Liu Hui's apparent disregard for the lives of people in other nations. But he quickly recovered and sneered again, "Liu Hui, even if the genetic technology for those super gorillas is immature and poses no direct threat to your 'Star City,' do you think you can just kill me? I have more than one means of survival. Let me tell you the truth! In my laboratories scattered across the globe, I haven't just been modifying those gorillas to become stronger; I have also left behind vast stores of gene viruses. These brand-new gene viruses are specifically engineered against you humans, incorporating some of the genetic technology from your drugs, making their technical content extremely high. Once you humans are infected, you will die in a very short time. Moreover, these gene viruses are highly contagious. If they spread, all of humanity will be wiped out immediately."
Liu Hui laughed, "If you claim these gene viruses are so powerful, why didn't you use them? Why risk your life coming to 'Star City'? If I'm not mistaken, that gene virus research of yours isn't complete, is it?"
The "Professor" cackled strangely, "Heh heh, the reason I haven't deployed those gene viruses immediately isn't that I haven't succeeded; it's because I haven't formulated the antidote yet. Otherwise, do you think I wouldn't have used them right away?"
Liu Hui waved his hand, "Professor, all your threats are useless to me. I know your genetic technology isn't up to par because my genetic expertise is far stronger than yours. If what you say is true and your gene viruses are that potent, then I certainly won't let you go back. If you return, you'll release those viruses, and we'll all die. So I have no concern about your gene drugs. You are destined to die here."
The "Professor" suddenly sighed, "Liu Hui, I know I can't hide it from you. The reason I didn't immediately release those gene viruses and instead came to 'Star City' to kill you is because I feared you might develop an antidote for those gene viruses, thus rendering all my efforts fruitless."
Hearing the "Professor's" words, Binar and the Maoshan Sect Master, still immobilized on the ground, began to sweat profusely. They realized the "Professor" had used them. If they had succeeded in assassinating Liu Hui, the "Professor" would have surely released those gene viruses upon his return, leading to the immediate doom of all humanity. Everything they had done was merely helping the "Professor" complete his plan to eradicate humanity, and all their personal ambitions would have come to nothing. Thinking of this, they were consumed by regret.
Liu Hui chuckled, "Professor, this means that from the moment you stepped into 'Star City,' you were already in a death trap. You are not going back."
Seeing that all his trump cards were useless against Liu Hui and his entire plan was on the verge of collapse, the "Professor" finally grew anxious. "Liu Hui, as long as you don't kill me, I can hand over my subordinate organization to you. You know my organization controls many excellent enterprises. If you take over my organization and those superior companies, your strength will increase dramatically. I also know your ambition is to build an ideal world, which is essentially consistent with mine. We can work towards it together!"
Liu Hui shook his head. "Professor, I know how you operate: by adopting human orphans from a young age, controlling them with both benevolence and might, making them worship you like a god, and then using those grown orphans to control the enterprises of others, thereby gaining some influence. But I have no need for those companies now; they are too insignificant to catch my eye. And the members of your organization are merely handsome men and beautiful women who enjoy seduction; beneath their radiant exteriors, they are overgrown with weeds, offering no help to my cause. Furthermore, my ideals are for me to realize; why should I rely on you, a mere chimpanzee?"
Liu Hui paused and then added, "Oh, by the way, that environmental protection organization called 'Protect the Earth,' that was also secretly organized by you, wasn't it?"
The "Professor" stated angrily, "That environmental organization was naturally started by me. The Earth doesn't belong exclusively to you humans. Why must you ruin the planet like this for your own benefit? You humans benefit from destroying the Earth, but have you ever considered us? What are we, the other races living on this planet, supposed to do? Unfortunately, the powerful vested interests among you humans are too strong, and our 'Earth Protection Organization' achieved nothing; the environment continues to deteriorate."
Liu Hui nodded to Hu Xian'er, then turned back to the "Professor." "The matters of humanity should be resolved by humans ourselves. As for you, ape, you can go realize your ideals in hell!"
Receiving the nod from Liu Hui, Hu Xian'er flicked her finger, and the white light sword shot out, piercing the "Professor's" head instantly, killing him. Just then, the "Professor's" body exploded, emitting a cloud of white smoke from the corpse.
Liu Hui cried out in alarm, "Xian'er, be careful! This smoke might be the gene virus he mentioned!"
Hu Xian'er let out a soft cry. Her white light sword suddenly burst open, transforming into a transparent light screen that completely enveloped the white smoke, preventing a single particle from escaping. The transparent light screen then began to compress inward until the white smoke was condensed into a tiny, soybean-sized white sphere.
Hu Xian'er picked up the white sphere, infused it with spiritual energy, and instantly sealed the suspected gene virus.
Liu Hui retrieved a sealed syringe from his breast pocket, loaded the white sphere into it, and placed it back inside.
At this point, excluding the immobilized Binar and the Maoshan Sect Master on the verge of death, the entire group of God-tier assassins sent to kill Liu Hui was annihilated. Hu Xian'er showed no mercy, launching two more sword energies that dispatched Binar and the Maoshan Sect Master, thereby ending their suffering.
With all enemies eliminated, Liu Hui turned to look at Hu Xian'er. She had already put away her white light sword, and no one knew where she had concealed it.
Liu Hui started to speak, "Xian'er, it turns out you..."
Hu Xian'er interrupted, "Water Buffalo, let's discuss things when we get home! Just remember one thing: no matter what I become, I am still your wife, and I will always stand by you."
Before Liu Hui could say more, sounds of victory calls echoed from outside the warehouse. Desheng was shouting, "Boss, are you inside? Did anything happen?"
Liu Hui immediately pushed open the warehouse door and stepped out. "Desheng, I'm fine. Immediately dispatch men to secure this warehouse and transfer everyone inside to a safer location."
Desheng and his men entered the warehouse and were shocked to see the corpses on the floor and the terrified women and children, immediately sensing the gravity of the situation.
Liu Hui turned to the women inside the warehouse. "Don't say anything for now. Go with Desheng immediately for relocation. We'll talk about everything when I return."
Though the women inside the warehouse had many questions, they understood this was an extraordinary time. They suppressed their doubts and left with Desheng.
Liu Hui turned to Hu Xian'er. "Xian'er, please take care of them."
Hu Xian'er knew Liu Hui had many matters to attend to and nodded. "Water Buffalo, don't worry! As long as I'm here, no one can harm them."
Having witnessed Hu Xian'er's power firsthand, Liu Hui no longer worried about her ability to protect these women; he trusted her one hundred percent now.
So, Desheng began the relocation with the women and children, casually cleaning up the corpses on the ground before leaving half his men behind for Liu Hui.
After Desheng and his group left, Liu Hui ordered those remaining men to guard outside Warehouse No. 1, forbidding anyone from entering. He then closed the door to Warehouse No. 1, took out a biological healing tank from his storage space, placed A'xia, who was the most severely injured on the floor, inside, activated the tank, and then draped his own upper garment over Yao Yao, who resembled a charred piece of charcoal on the ground.
Liu Hui said to Zhou Tengyun beside him, "Third Brother, guard these two here. I'll be back shortly."
Liu Hui left again, went to the adjacent Warehouse No. 2, opened the planar trading device, and began hailing the Zerg from the Zerg race. Zerg quickly appeared. Perhaps the Zerg were engaged in a large-scale battle with the Protoss, as his face looked extremely weary.
Liu Hui stated, "Esteemed Zerg, I need your help with something important."
Zerg replied, "Esteemed Liu Hui, please tell me what you need help with. It is my honor to resolve your troubles."
Liu Hui immediately placed the suspected gene virus contained in the syringe onto the planar trading device, saying, "Lord Zerg, the contents of this syringe might be a gene drug specifically developed against us humans. Therefore, I must trouble you to analyze it and determine if this substance truly poses a threat to humanity. If it is a human-targeted gene virus, I also request that you research and develop an antidote for it."
Zerg clicked the trade button and took the syringe into his hand. He closely observed the small white object and stated, "No problem. We will conduct research on it and contact you immediately once we have the results."
Liu Hui responded, "Thank you for your trouble, Lord Zerg. By the way, I wanted to ask if you have any finished Bio-Healing Water Tanks available? I have an urgent need for them now."
Zerg recalled for a moment and replied, "I still have two ready-made Bio-Healing Water Tanks here. I wonder if that will be enough for you?"
Liu Hui was overjoyed and exclaimed, "Enough, enough! Can you trade them to me right away?"
Zerg said, "Very well. Please wait a moment; I'll go to the warehouse to retrieve them." He then closed the planar trading device.
Liu Hui waited for half an hour in Warehouse Two. Zerg contacted him again and subsequently traded the two Bio-Healing Water Tanks over.
Having received the two brand-new Bio-Healing Water Tanks, Liu Hui immediately proceeded to Warehouse One next door. He took out the two new tanks, placed Zhou Tengyun inside, and activated the system. Zhou Tengyun immediately fell into a coma. He then opened the other Bio-Healing Water Tank and placed Yao Yao, who looked like a piece of charcoal, inside before activating that tank as well.
Only then did Liu Hui finally breathe a sigh of relief. With these three Bio-Healing Water Tanks, the lives of these three severely injured high-level experts were finally secured.
After dealing with the intrusion by these God-level masters, a heavy weight lifted completely from Liu Hui's heart. From now on, no one should be able to infiltrate the "Starry Sky City" and threaten his safety, as all the God-level masters in this world had been rounded up. As for when another God-level master might emerge, who could say?
As Liu Hui relaxed, he remembered the threat of the super tsunami looming over the "Starry Sky City." After instructing his subordinates to guard Warehouse One well, he returned to the command and control center of "Starry Sky City."
"How is the sea tsunami downstairs?" Liu Hui inquired.
"Boss, the shockwave from the third wave of the tsunami has passed far away. So far, it has not caused any damage to our 'Starry Sky City,'" the command personnel inside the room excitedly reported.
To withstand an attack by a tsunami of this magnitude without suffering any casualties or property loss aboard the "Starry Sky City" was nothing short of a miracle, and these staff members had every reason to feel proud.
"It's good that the great tsunami has passed, but do not let your guard down. You must continue to monitor the sea areas surrounding the epicenter of the earthquake to prevent any new developments," Liu Hui instructed.
"Yes, Boss, we understand."
So, Liu Hui remained stationed in the command and control center. Even though the massive tsunami had subsided, he did not wish for any further unforeseen incidents to occur.
Half an hour later, a message came through from the orbital space station overhead.
"Boss, the US Pacific Fleet suddenly departed from the Hawaii naval base an hour ago. They were originally heading toward our 'Starry Sky City,' but about half an hour ago, this massive naval fleet abruptly halted its advance and returned to the naval base in Hawaii along the same route. Because all our previous energy was focused on detecting the super tsunami, we failed to notice this fleet's unusual movement in time."
Upon hearing about the strange actions of the US Pacific Fleet, Liu Hui instantly understood the reason for their return.
Bina had dispatched eight God-level masters to assassinate him, intending to throw "Starry Sky City" into chaos so that the US Pacific Fleet could formally intervene and take control of the city. However, since he had completely wiped out Bina's contingent of God-level masters, the Pacific Fleet likely hadn't received confirmation back from Bina and was probably hesitant and uncertain, leading them to reverse course.
Liu Hui sneered inwardly. The Americans had clearly gambled everything, planning to assassinate him and then have the Pacific Fleet press the attack, intending to make the leaderless "Starry Sky City" surrender to them. These Americans had truly devised a meticulous plan; to seize "Starry Sky City," they hadn't even hesitated regarding the threat of the super tsunami, which reached thirty-five meters in height.
