Li Yundong carried Su Chan to where she lived. He looked up and saw a house built of blue bricks, its red wooden door tightly shut—the kind of private courtyard dwelling often seen in historical dramas.

Though they had arrived at her home, Su Chan clung to Li Yundong's back, refusing to get down. She instructed him, "Just push the door open."

Li Yundong asked, confused, "It's not locked? Aren't you afraid of thieves?"

With that, he pushed the wooden door, which creaked open as he stepped into a small courtyard barely ten square meters, filled with growing vegetables and a tiny vegetable patch. Beyond that was a single-story house consisting of five rooms. The center room served as the living area, containing nothing more than a square Eight Immortals table and two matching stools.

Li Yundong circled the living room while still carrying the little girl, then gave a wry smile. "If a thief came here, it would be a wasted trip. You don't even have a single electrical appliance!" Saying this, he patted the girl's backside. "Get down now. How long are you going to cling on?"

Su Chan wiggled, whining playfully, "I want to cling on forever!" Though she said so, she obediently slid off his back.

Li Yundong smiled, glancing at the two bedrooms on either side. "Which one is yours?"

Su Chan pointed to the one on the right. Li Yundong then asked, "Where is the kitchen?"

Su Chan pointed to a small room next to the living room. Li Yundong nodded, took a look inside the kitchen, and gasped sharply: Whoa!! It was a traditional wood-burning stove! This was far too archaic, too unfashionable!

Li Yundong looked around with a bitter smile. He noticed there were still some non-perishable vegetables inside—carrots, sweet potatoes, corn, etc. He laughed, "You have some food here! Why don't you cook for yourself? Are you trying to let my little lady starve? Watch out, or I'll punish you!"

Su Chan grabbed Li Yundong's hand, giggling playfully, "Didn't you tell me not to cook when you weren't around?"

Li Yundong then remembered he had specifically told the young girl not to cook when she was alone. He chuckled ruefully, "But that depends on the situation! Are you planning to starve to death?"

Su Chan chirped, "I knew you would come to save me; you wouldn't let me starve to death!"

Li Yundong smiled and lightly pinched the tip of the girl's nose. "Is there anywhere nearby to buy groceries?"

Su Chan thought for a moment. "Yes, but it's a bit of a walk."

Li Yundong laughed. "Then I'll go buy the food. You wait here for me?"

Su Chan clung tightly to Li Yundong's arm, protesting, "No! I want to go with you."

Li Yundong didn't want to be separated from the little girl for even a second, so he smiled. "Alright, we'll go together then."

Saying this, the two of them didn't even bother locking the door; they just gently nudged it shut before heading out again.

Li Yundong and Su Chan walked down the street as if they were physically attached. Many people on the way stared at them with curious eyes, especially as they kept glancing at the two dark handprints on Li Yundong’s chest, secretly covering their mouths to chuckle. Li Yundong assumed they were laughing at Su Chan’s charmingly naive appearance and paid them no mind.

Su Chan, however, had something to hide. Seeing people approaching ahead, she had a sudden idea. She darted in front of Li Yundong to block everyone’s view, and once they passed, she quickly moved behind him to block their sight again. Back and forth she went, spinning around Li Yundong like a top, incredibly busy.

Seeing her flitting about like a busy little bee, Li Yundong laughed, "What are you turning around for? You're making my eyes spin!"

Su Chan chuckled mischievously, "It's nothing."

Li Yundong noticed that the tourists near Qili Shantang were all focused on him. He couldn't help but be curious. "Why are they all looking at me? Is there something on my face?"

Su Chan startled inwardly and forced a dry laugh. "Nothing, nothing at all! Sir is the most handsome; how could he have something on his face?" Saying this, she urged Li Yundong to hurry up. "I'm starving! Let’s go buy groceries quickly."

Li Yundong didn't suspect a thing. Smiling, he accompanied the little girl to a small supermarket nearby, bought some groceries, and prepared to head home. However, on the way back, they suddenly ran into the young man who had been bothering Su Chan earlier.

Li Yundong gave him a cool glance and walked past without a word, leading Su Chan away. Su Chan, however, deliberately and defiantly squeezed Li Yundong's arm tightly, pulling a funny face at the young man.

The young man stood there stunned, watching Su Chan and Li Yundong depart as a couple, instantly furious enough to spew smoke from all seven orifices. "Damn it, the choicest cabbages are being snatched up by pigs! Is this beauty blind? To leave someone as handsome as me, distinguished and wealthy, to run off with a mute! And his clothes are filthy! What kind of world is this? Me, so dashing and rich, and she chooses that guy! Is there any justice left? Any law?"

Li Yundong had no idea someone was silently cursing him behind his back. He brought the little girl back to their lodging, efficiently cooked two dishes and one soup in the kitchen, and set them on the Eight Immortals table. The two sat facing each other. The little girl held her warm bowl of rice, looking at the steaming soup before her, and felt a warmth spreading sweetly through her heart.

She stretched her head out, opened her mouth, and smiled. "I want you to feed me the soup."

Li Yundong smiled, scooped a spoonful of soup, blew on it gently near his lips, and brought it close to Su Chan's mouth, chuckling, "Alright, I’ll feed you like this for the rest of our lives!"

Su Chan stared blankly at Li Yundong. For some reason, her heart suddenly ached, and tears welled up in her eyes, dripping onto the soup spoon.

Li Yundong smiled. "Why are you crying again? Are you thinking of your Master again? Don't worry, I will definitely help you find her."

Su Chan shook her head, wiping a tear away. "No, I believe you can find Master. I... I'm just too happy."

Li Yundong laughed. "If you're happy, then drink the soup while it's hot."

Su Chan stuck out her bright red tongue, licked the spoon, and smacked her lips. "It's salty! You put too much salt in!"

Li Yundong feigned anger. "Nonsense! It's clearly because your tears dripped in just now that the soup is salty!"

Su Chan giggled, opened her mouth wide, and swallowed the entire spoonful, sucking the broth clean. When she opened her mouth again, she smiled, "It's sweet!"

Li Yundong saw her saying salty one moment and sweet the next, realizing she was just talking nonsense, and burst out laughing. He opened his own mouth, leaned slightly forward with his upper body, and said, "I've fed you; now it's your turn to feed me!"

Su Chan scooped a spoonful of soup and stood up in a practiced manner to feed him. But just as the spoon neared Li Yundong's mouth, her gaze fell upon the two intensely glaring black handprints on his chest. She gasped, her hand wavered, and the soup splashed toward Li Yundong’s mouth.

Li Yundong twisted his mouth to try and catch it, but some still spilled all over him. He quickly stood up and bent over to brush the drops off his clothes. But as he looked down, he sucked in a sharp breath: Good heavens, it looks like I’ve been hit with the Secret Art of the Great Hand Imprint!

Li Yundong knew instantly it must have been the little girl’s doing. He reluctantly looked up and drawled out, "Su... Chan!"

Seeing she couldn't hide it any longer, the little girl walked over with her head down, nervously twisting the corner of her clothes, and whispered pitifully, "I'm sorry! I was too excited just now, that's why I got your clothes dirty. B-b-big brother, I’ll wash them for you, that’s all."

Li Yundong couldn't help but smile at the girl's miserable expression. He pinched her nose lightly. "Eat first!"

Su Chan brightened up immediately. "I don't have to wash them?"

Li Yundong laughed and chided, "You need energy to wash them after you eat!"

Su Chan's face immediately fell. "Oh!" She obediently sat back down at the table and began to eat.

At first, she was wolfing down the food. Li Yundong couldn't bear to watch, so he tapped her bowl with his chopsticks and scolded playfully, "Are you a hungry ghost reborn? Eat slowly! Chew thoroughly! You're supposed to be a cultivator!"

Su Chan mumbled, "Okay," and then said wistfully, "Your tone of voice sounds just like my Master's."

Li Yundong smiled. "Is that so? Whether from the perspective of me being your boyfriend or from the perspective of the Fox Zen Sect, you should listen to me!"

Su Chan blinked, confused. "Why do you say that?"

Li Yundong chuckled. "Because I am now the Sect Master of the Fox Zen Sect!"

Su Chan was utterly dumbfounded, her cherry lips widening into a perfect O shape. She stammered, "Yundong, you... you aren't joking, are you?"

Li Yundong smiled. "Of course not. Eat your meal first, wash the clothes afterward, and then I'll tell you all about it slowly."

Su Chan was so curious she wished she could finish eating instantly and took another huge gulp. Li Yundong immediately tapped her bowl with his chopsticks and commanded, "Eat slowly!"

Only then did Su Chan obediently begin to chew and swallow gracefully, like a proper lady.

Once she finished eating, she smartly began clearing the bowls from the table herself. Li Yundong, with nothing pressing to do, wandered into Su Chan's room.

This room contained only a rosewood desk and an antique-style rosewood bed with soft bedding, and the desk held brushes, ink, paper, and an inkstone.

Li Yundong walked over to the desk and noticed a stack of Xuan paper pressed under a paperweight. Written on the paper in small seal script was a poem. Li Yundong picked it up, a smile spreading across his face, and recited loudly: "Delicate clouds play tricks, flying stars send regret, the Silver River stretches far, crossing in secret. A meeting of golden wind and jade dew surpasses ten thousand chances in the mortal world. Tender feelings are like water, the destined moment like a dream, how can one bear to turn back the path of the magpie bridge! If the love between two people lasts forever, what need is there for bed after bed..."

After finishing, he burst into hearty laughter. He picked up a nearby brush and added a line: "Delicate clouds play tricks, flying stars send regret, the Silver River stretches far, crossing in secret. A meeting of golden wind and jade dew surpasses countless affairs between adulterers and whores. Tender feelings are like water, the destined moment like a dream, how can one bear to turn back the path of the magpie bridge! If the love between two people lasts forever, what need is there for bed after bed! Hahaha, now that's a fitting parallel structure!"

Li Yundong amused himself by completely butchering Qin Guan's "Que Qiao Xian." He then flipped to the sheet underneath and saw Yuan Haowen's immortal line written there. He began to read, "Ask the world, what is love..."

Before he could finish the line, Su Chan rushed in breathlessly, her face flushed crimson, and lunged toward Li Yundong to snatch the paper from his hand, shouting, "Don't read it! Give it to me, quickly!"

Li Yundong, having the manuscript snatched away, laughed until he bent over double. Su Chan, made scarlet by his laughter, was overwhelmed with shame. She stomped her foot angrily. "Do you still want me to wash your clothes or not! Stop laughing!"

Li Yundong forced himself to stop laughing. "Alright, alright, I won't laugh anymore. Hurry up and wash my clothes for me!"

Su Chan, blushing, reached out. "Take your clothes off!"

Li Yundong began to undress, shaking his head and swaying his body while chanting, "Ask the world, what is love, that makes men strip off their pants!"

With that, he seriously handed the clothes to Su Chan and asked with a completely earnest expression, "Should I take off my pants?"

Su Chan let out a suppressed giggle but quickly put on a stern face, snatching Li Yundong's clothes and pouncing at him playfully, "I want you to! I want you to! I’ll bite you!"

Li Yundong roared with laughter. When she lunged, he fell backward onto the rosewood bed, and the two tumbled together, laughing and playing around happily for a while.

Li Yundong felt the fragrance of the girl in his arms, her charming face just inches from his own. Her bright red lips looked tender and ready to burst, like frozen strawberries. Without thinking, he lowered his head and moved in to kiss her.

But just as his lips were about to meet hers, he suddenly heard a series of loud knocks coming from outside: "Is anyone home? Is anyone inside!"
