Ao Wushuang never expected Mo Ashi to suddenly make a move. Although her power and magic were considered the best in the Fox Zen Sect, her skill level wasn't overwhelmingly superior to Mo Ashi’s.
If the two were to engage in a formal duel, Ao Wushuang would naturally have the upper hand. But if one was completely unprepared and the other launched a surprise assault, the unprepared party would suffer a massive disadvantage!
Seeing Mo Ashi’s face abruptly change and the sudden ambush, Ao Wushuang could only instinctively flick her sleeve, deflecting Mo Ashi's two fingers. However, while she could defend against those two digits, she couldn't guard against the closely launched surprise attack of the Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin.
The Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin possessed a momentary cloaking effect during a close-range strike, making it incredibly insidious. Caught completely off guard, Ao Wushuang had no way to block it.
With a soft thwack, Ao Wushuang felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. She looked down to see the Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin embedded right there!
When Mo Ashi saw that Ao Wushuang remained standing despite being struck in the lower abdomen by the Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin, she couldn't help but sneer, "Truly worthy of the name Ao Wushuang; to remain standing after being hit by this artifact, impressive, truly impressive!"
Ao Wushuang was both shocked and furious. She stared wide-eyed at Mo Ashi and angrily demanded, "Senior Sister, what are you doing?"
Mo Ashi paused momentarily, "You still call me Senior Sister? Could it be... you haven't realized..."
Ao Wushuang’s heart jolted violently, "Realized what?"
Mo Ashi’s expression shifted between shadows, then she gritted her teeth and coldly laughed, "Nothing. Regardless, the die is cast. Just surrender now!"
Saying this, she flipped her wrist, and suddenly a small, purple bell appeared in her hand.
The moment Ao Wushuang spotted the little purple bell, her face changed drastically. She pointed at Mo Ashi and exclaimed loudly, "This is impossible, you are..."
Mo Ashi would not allow her to finish speaking. With a flick of her palm, the small bell flew up, growing larger as it hovered in the air, descending toward Ao Wushuang.
Ao Wushuang's Qihai point in her lower abdomen had been pierced by the Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin, causing the vital energy within her body to become a tangled mess. Any cultivator with slightly weaker internal energy would have had their soul ripped from their body immediately, yet Ao Wushuang could still manage her internal flow to resist the artifact, showcasing her inherent resilience.
But as Ao Wushuang focused all her might against the Luo Mu Soul-Leaving Pin, she couldn't fight off the small bell. Her figure was instantly enveloped by it. The bell then rapidly shrank and flew back into Mo Ashi’s hand.
Ao Wushuang’s figure had vanished from where she stood, seemingly imprisoned within the magical artifact.
Mo Ashi held the small bell in her hands and laughed triumphantly, "Ao Wushuang, Ao Wushuang, you have lived to see this day? Heh, don't worry, I won't kill you so quickly. I want you to watch with your own eyes as I kill every familiar person around you, one by one, until your Fox Zen Sect shatters completely!"
As she spoke, she threw her head back and laughed heartily. The sound wasn't loud, as if deliberately suppressed and controlled, but the sheer delight within her tone could not be concealed at all.
After a moment, her laughter subsided. With a short, sharp chuckle, she flipped her wrist, retracting the purple bell, and then turned to leave.
After she departed, the room fell into a deep silence. It was as if Ao Wushuang had never been there at all. Both the inner and outer chambers were as quiet as a funeral hall, and the very air seemed frozen.
After a long interval, Mo Ashi’s figure suddenly reappeared in the outer room. Her gaze swept the surroundings with barely concealed malice. Then, with a sweep of her sleeve, she violently slammed open the inner room door with a bang. Her face was filled with suspicion as she searched back and forth inside, coldly sneering, "Come out. I can smell your presence!"
She flipped her wrist, and a swirling mass of pale green energy instantly materialized in her hand. Mo Ashi jeered, "Don't make me force you out with my spells!"
She finished speaking, but after a moment, the inner room remained utterly silent, yielding not a single sound.
Mo Ashi’s expression darkened. She sharply commanded, "Then don't blame me for being impolite!" Saying this, she moved to form hand seals to cast a spell!
But just then, a voice called from outside the door, "Senior Sister!" It was Gu Feng of the Fox Zen Sect.
Mo Ashi’s fingers quickly snapped closed, crushing the swirling green energy in her palm. She shot a hateful glare around the room, stomped her foot, and quickly hurried out.
Not long after she left, Su Chan’s figure slowly emerged in the room. Her face was etched with shock and terror. She nervously poked her head around the doorway, trembling. The moment she craned her neck out, Mo Ashi suddenly materialized, thrusting a finger toward her while laughing loudly, "Clever as a devil, but you still fell for the trap, didn't you?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, her finger touched Su Chan's body. Su Chan’s form twisted violently, then instantly vanished, leaving a talisman slowly drifting down from the air.
Mo Ashi immediately exploded in rage. She snatched the talisman and quickly burned it to ash, roaring under her breath, "What kind of disciple is raised by what kind of slut! Daring to trick me! You won't escape!"
With that, she spun her head sharply, glaring fiercely at Gu Feng outside the door, "Hurry up and go catch her for me!"
Gu Feng frowned, asking, "Where am I supposed to catch her?"
Mo Ashi snarled, "You chase east, and I will chase west! I don't believe she can fly to the heavens!" With that, she instantly transformed into a streak of azure light and shot out.
Gu Feng stared intently at her retreating back for a moment, then he too transformed into a streak of green light and flew away.
After they had been gone for a long time, Su Chan’s figure slowly materialized back in the room. She was shivering violently, her teeth chattering uncontrollably, terrified and afraid as she thought: What should I do? Master has been captured by that fiend—what can I possibly do?
After panicking in the room for a while, she gradually recovered from her fear. Su Chan took a deep breath, made her form invisible again, held her breath, and remained completely still inside the inner room.
During this time, Mo Ashi and Gu Feng returned to check several more times, but each time they failed to detect the slightest anomaly. Only then did they give up and cease their searching.
When deep night fell, Su Chan, using the cover of darkness, slowly walked out of the Taoist temple. She dared not fly, fearing that taking flight would expose her energy signature and attract the attention of Mo Ashi, that great demoness.
Along the way, Su Chan stumbled through the deep mountains until she reached the foot of the range. She looked back and saw that the temple was already hidden within the deep mountain night, its silhouette completely gone. Only then did Su Chan relax slightly, letting out a small sigh of relief.
With that momentary relaxation, sorrow overwhelmed Su Chan. She slumped onto a stone in the mountainside and whispered, sobbing, "Master, it’s all my fault. If I hadn't been so afraid and shown myself sooner, you wouldn't have been captured! Master, I was so frightened when I saw Senior Sister Mo Ashi—I was terrified she would suck me dry like a mummy!"
She cried softly for a time, suddenly feeling utterly alone in the wilderness, unsure where to go. She pondered, crying as she thought: Now that Master is taken, I absolutely cannot return, or I will surely die. But... but where can I go now?
As this thought occurred, something sparked within Su Chan. She jumped up suddenly, shouting in a low voice with manic excitement and joy, "That's right! I’ll go find Yun Dong! He will definitely have a way to help me rescue Master!"
But her excitement was short-lived. She immediately remembered: But is Yun Dong a match for Mo Ashi? It looked like she had several immensely powerful artifacts in her hands! Moreover, I don't even know if Yun Dong has overcome his Heavenly Tribulation yet. What if I recklessly rush to him and disrupt his cultivation, causing him to fail the Tribulation? And what if Mo Ashi follows me, tracing my path?
Though Su Chan was usually carefree, she was certainly not foolish. The times she seemed dull and often made mistakes when she was with Li Yun Dong were due to her absolute trust in him, leading her to prefer not to use her brain.
But when she was left alone and helpless, her wit and intelligence became apparent.
Su Chan thought it over, gradually settling on a decision. She cast one last look back towards the direction of the Fox Zen Sect, then glanced towards Tiannan City, before turning and disappearing into the encroaching night.
Just as Su Chan made her escape, two streaks of green light flashed across the sky. Mo Ashi and Gu Feng simultaneously appeared in Mo Ashi's quarters. Mo Ashi said with a face like dark iron, "You didn't find any trace of that little bitch?"
Gu Feng shook his head, "No."
Mo Ashi ground out through clenched teeth, "How utterly useless you are!"
Gu Feng glanced at her, coldly mocking, "Stop bossing me around. I am from the Myriad Manifestations Gate; I am not subject to your commands! Besides, you didn't catch her either, did you? On what grounds do you criticize me?"
Mo Ashi flew into a rage, her dignified and beautiful features instantly contorting into a fierce and menacing expression. She glared fiercely at Gu Feng, "What did you just say!"
Gu Feng was startled by her expression and took a step back, raising his guard warily, "What are you planning? You want to fight here? Fine! Let’s do it! Let the leader of the Fox Zen Sect see how his own disciples tear each other apart!"
Mo Ashi’s expression hardened. She took a deep breath, forcefully suppressing the rage boiling within her, and coldly stated, "I will let this matter with you slide for today. However, you must hasten to notify the Six Great Sects and tell them that the siege on the Fox Zen Sect must be moved forward!"
Gu Feng couldn't help but hiss under his breath, "Do you think you are the supreme leader of the cultivation world? You can order things moved forward or postponed just by saying so? Your self-importance is a bit excessive!"
Mo Ashi erupted in fury. She suddenly thrust out her hand and grabbed the air, lifting Gu Feng bodily. She snarled viciously, "Without me, the Six Great Sects wouldn't even know where the Fox Zen Sect is, let alone besiege it! Now that Ao Wushuang is sealed by me, and her disciple's whereabouts are unknown, if we don't attack the Fox Zen Sect immediately, that old fox Liu Ye will surely realize something is amiss before long! Once he realizes, and sees the Fox Zen Sect’s strength severely diminished with a powerful enemy at the gate, hmph, you all can forget about ever finding the Fox Zen Sect again!"
Gu Feng, struggling for breath as she choked him, managed to say between gasps, "You, you let me down! Even if you choke me to death, it won't benefit you. With Ao Wushuang gone, if I disappear too, how will you explain it to Liu Ye?"
Mo Ashi flung her arm out, tossing Gu Feng flying. She coldly stated, "If I didn't think you still had some minor use, I would have already eliminated you! A mere Myriad Manifestations Gate dares to challenge me? Hmph, even your Sect Master treats me with courtesy when he sees me. What kind of insignificant thing are you, daring to push your luck!"
Saying this, Mo Ashi pointed at Gu Feng, her killing intent palpable, "Let me tell you, I have been planning the destruction of the Fox Zen Sect for nine years. If you dare to ruin my affair, I guarantee you will taste a torment where living is unbearable and dying is impossible!"
Hearing this, Gu Feng immediately broke into a cold sweat. He knew that this Mo Ashi truly possessed such terrifying means. For a cultivator, the worst fate wasn't death, because once they reached the stage of the Nascent Soul leaving the body, they could transcend life and death, allowing reincarnation or possession even if the physical body was destroyed. But to be captured by a great cultivator, their body restrained, their soul sealed, and to be tortured ceaselessly—that was truly the greatest fear and terror for any practitioner!
Gu Feng's eye twitched, and he forced a laugh, "I, I understand. Destroying the Fox Zen Sect is the shared objective of all Six Great Sects. I will go notify them immediately!"
Mo Ashi waved her sleeve and commanded in a low voice, "Go quickly! The Six Great Sects must move within two weeks at the latest! At that time, I will act as the inside informant and crush this demonic sect in one fell swoop!"
