Having slain the Demon Wolf King, there was still no sign of Luo Ling'er or the others, which naturally left Ye Jingyu deeply worried. He had no choice but to remain on the Panbulasi Great Grassland, continuing his search.
In the blink of an eye, another three days passed. The group had traveled several hundred miles to the northwest before stopping once more. This time, gazing out at the boundless prairie, Ye Jingyu's brow was tightly furrowed.
Seeing Ye Jingyu halt, Yao Rao was just about to step forward to speak with him when Jiu Feng’s figure arrived before him, speaking with a voice remarkably soft, "A’Yu, what is it?"
Ye Jingyu offered no reply, merely shaking his head. He stood silently upon the slight rise of the mound, the Moon Wheel mark between his brows emitting faint silver light, attempting to trace something—some echo.
But he scanned the area for a full quarter of an hour, still without finding anything, his forehead slick with sweat.
"A’Yu, don't worry, she will certainly be fine!" Seeing Ye Jingyu’s intense anxiety, Jiu Feng’s own face betrayed a flash of worry. She even took out her personal handkerchief and gently wiped the sweat from his brow, her movements tender, her tone filled with kindness.
"Jiu Feng, about Ling'er…" Seeing that Jiu Feng harbored no resentment towards him for his past actions, a wave of guilt washed over Ye Jingyu. He intended to explain the situation concerning Luo Ling'er, but Jiu Feng cut him off immediately.
"Don't say another word. I understand everything. As long as I can stay by your side, I am content!" Jiu Feng's voice was so gentle; if those people from the Ming Yan Tower were present, they would never believe this was the fearsome Miss Jiu.
Even Yao Rao, though fully aware of Jiu Feng's devotion to Ye Jingyu, sounded somewhat incredulous hearing such a tone.
Gazing into Jiu Feng's sincere brown eyes, Ye Jingyu secretly swore an oath: no matter what, he absolutely could not let down this woman who loved him so deeply again.
No many words were necessary. He simply opened his arms, pulling Jiu Feng tightly into an embrace. Feeling the warmth of Ye Jingyu’s hold, Jiu Feng’s heart swelled with sweetness.
Watching the two locked together, Yao Rao’s expression momentarily glazed over, lost in thought. She couldn't explain why, but her greatest desire right then was simply to have a pair of strong arms to hold her just as tightly.
Her wish was soon granted. Arms did appear before her, though they were rather thin.
"Miss Yao Rao, if you are willing, let me be the strongest shoulder for your arms!" Liang Xiaoke said with tender affection.
Seeing Liang Xiaoke’s earnest gaze, watching as his outstretched arms drew closer, Yao Rao rolled her eyes and promptly turned to walk away...
"Hey, Miss Yao Rao, let's talk this over! I truly love you, I—I damn, what is that?" Liang Xiaoke jumped up when Yao Rao left, ready to chase after her, but suddenly noticed a dark shadow shooting towards them from the distance, eliciting a sharp cry of alarm.
Following Liang Xiaoke's startled shout, everyone looked up. They saw a streak of black fire light hurtling directly toward them.
"Xiao Hei..." The Moon Wheel between Ye Jingyu's brows flared intensely. He released Jiu Feng and lunged towards the black light. In just a few steps, he intercepted it, grasping the incoming shadow—it was the escaped Ni Bo.
At this moment, Ni Bo was covered in bloody gashes, and pale gold blood continuously streamed down, staining his otherwise obsidian body with a faint golden hue.
His expression was exhausted, and pale gold blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. Clearly, escaping the Blood Mist Forest had consumed an enormous amount of energy. Seeing that Ye Jingyu was the one who caught him, the tension in Ni Bo's eyes slowly receded. Without speaking, he instantly projected a wave of mental energy.
The moment he received the information transmitted by Ni Bo, Ye Jingyu’s expression shifted violently. Luo Ling'er and the others had been captured—even Hei Ming Shixuan was seized! How could this not shock him?
"Big Brother, you guys take care of Xiao Hei first, and we’ll figure out what to do after he wakes up. Jiu Feng, you stay with Big Brother, everyone be careful. I'm going ahead!" Xiao Hei had taken a full day to flee the Blood Mist Forest, and all this information had flooded into Ye Jingyu's mind. He couldn't bear to think about what state Luo Ling'er and the others might be in now.
The instant his words faded, silver light flashed beneath Ye Jingyu's feet, and his body vanished from the spot. Liang Xiaoke and the others tried to pursue, but they could not match his speed. Meanwhile, Ni Bo, having delivered the message, completely collapsed, blood continuously flowing from his mouth—his strength clearly exhausted, he had fainted.
Ye Jingyu was long gone. Regardless of their current worry, they could only wait for Ni Bo to wake up first. He pulled out a handful of spiritual medicines from his robe and forced them into Ni Bo's mouth.
Ye Jingyu ran relentlessly. Following Ni Bo’s memories, it took him about an hour to reach the outer edge of the Blood Mist Jungle. Looking at the jungle shrouded in dense crimson fog, his brow furrowed slightly. Without further hesitation, he plunged directly into the depths.
With his current strength, even if he encountered a Venerable-level powerhouse, he wouldn't be instantly killed upon sight. He had no need to worry about that. The most crucial point was that Luo Ling'er, Hei Ming Shixuan, and Tao Tie were all captured. If any one of them suffered harm, he would never forgive himself.
Yet, the Blood Mist Jungle was profoundly deceptive; even for ordinary people who entered, finding the specific mountain cave would be exceedingly difficult. But under the effect of the Eye of Samsara, everything became trivial.
With almost no effort, Ye Jingyu located the cave Ni Bo had indicated. Concealing his presence, he sped toward the interior of the cavern.
After a few breaths of time, he distinctly felt he had passed into another plane of existence. Immediately, he burst forth at maximum speed, soon arriving in that enormous gorge.
When he reached this place, he found the entire canyon enveloped by a strange power. Dozens of powerful auras—seven-fold might—permeated the surroundings, with the strongest presence situated upon the island in the lake...
Gazing upon the colossal stone pillar, at the massive Celestial Dragon chained to it, and at the figures bound beneath the pillar—Tao Tie, Hei Ming Shixuan, Luo Ling'er, and the rest—Ye Jingyu cautiously swam towards the lake's edge...
