He Shao floored the accelerator, veering onto the wrong side of the road, causing chaos—cars swerving, people tumbling—as Li Yundong pursued relentlessly, his inner fury escalating with every passing second.

His mind held only one thought: Catch him, catch him!

Su Chan, tailing closely behind, watched Li Yundong's retreating figure with mounting anxiety. She wanted to interject a word of caution, but she had never witnessed such raw rage in him before. The words poised on her lips caught, then dissolved back down her throat.

This was the peak of rush hour, and He Shao couldn't maintain any real speed on the packed streets. Frustrated, he ducked down a less congested route, eventually finding himself near Tiannan University.

As he navigated past the university grounds and into a side street, an elderly woman pushing a cart laden with vegetables stepped out of an alleyway. He Shao slammed the brakes too late. With a deafening crunch, both the woman and her cart were thrown aside. The car screeched to a halt against a parked vehicle.

He Shao shuddered, forcing himself to look. He saw the old woman struggling weakly on the ground, trying to rise. A wave of relief washed over him. He twisted the ignition key, preparing to flee, when suddenly a young man lunged at his door. It was Er Lu, who hammered furiously on the glass: "You animal! How do you drive? You hit my mother!"

He quickly glanced back at his mother, shouting, "Mom, are you alright!"

He Shao risked a look in his rearview mirror. Li Yundong, a tiny, bean-like figure, was still locked in pursuit, a vengeful spirit closing the gap with terrifying speed. A fresh tremor ran through He Shao. He fumbled frantically, pulling out every bit of cash he had and tossing it out the window, screaming in panic, "Get out of the way! Clear the road for me!"

Er Lu jammed his hand through the open window, seizing the steering wheel with an iron grip. He roared, "Is a little money so great? Get out of the car! You're not leaving!"

He Shao dared not exit. Watching Li Yundong, the terrifying specter demanding retribution, draw ever closer, his panic intensified, his control dissolving completely.

Suddenly, He Shao’s hand brushed against something cold and hard tucked into his waistband. A vicious thought flared to life. He whipped out the pistol tucked there and pointed it at Er Lu, bellowing, "Get out of my way!"

Er Lu was stubborn to a fault. He shouted back, "You dare shoot? Shoot, then! If you have the guts, kill me! Get out, and you're not leaving until you take my mother to the hospital!"

He Shao kept glancing backward; sweat poured down his back. His face contorted into a mask of hysteria. "Get lost! I'm serious, I will shoot!!"

Er Lu instinctively turned his head, following He Shao’s gaze backward. What he saw made him gasp, a mix of shock and elation. "Benefactor!" he cried out.

Hearing those two words, He Shao’s heart plummeted: These two are working together!

He hesitated no longer. He unleashed three rapid shots at Er Lu—Bang! Bang! Bang!

Er Lu flinched. He turned back, seemingly unable to believe this young man truly dared to fire. His body swayed precariously. He looked down at the three gaping wounds blooming crimson on his chest, and his legs gave way. He collapsed softly.

He Shao wrenched Er Lu's arm, which was still draped over the car window, free. He stomped on the accelerator, but just as the car lunged forward, an old woman—Er Lu's mother—flung herself with manic fury toward the front of the vehicle, clawing and shrieking, "Give me back my son, you beast!"

The sheer madness in her attack made He Shao recoil. His foot involuntarily pressed harder on the gas. The engine roared, and the car shot forward, the woman vanishing instantly under the hood. A heavy jolt shook the chassis as the car rolled over her body.

"You asked for this! You brought this on yourselves!" He Shao shrieked, cursing wildly.

Li Yundong witnessed the entire horrific scene from behind. He was so enraged he felt he might explode, wishing desperately for wings.

But by the time he reached the scene of the atrocity, He Shao’s car had already sped fifteen meters away.

Shot three times, Er Lu was not yet dead. He struggled on the ground, dragging himself toward his mother, leaving a wide, bloody smear in his wake.

He finally reached his mother, touched her face for a breath, and let out a wail of anguish that tore the air: "Mother!!!"

"A beast deserving death!!!" Li Yundong’s fury boiled over. His presence erupted like a berserk predator, roaring through the area!

He flexed his legs with immense power, his body launching six to seven meters into the air. Landing with the impact of a meteorite, he immediately coiled his powerful thighs and sprang up again!

The raw strength Li Yundong unleashed in that moment of absolute rage was unbelievable. He bounded forward like the Hulk in a movie, his legs functioning as two impossibly strong steel springs, launching him skyward again and again as he hurtled toward He Shao!

Li Yundong’s pursuit was terrifying, but fortunately, the road was already somewhat isolated, edging toward the suburbs. After a short chase, he managed to drive He Shao out of the city limits.

Seeing Li Yundong gaining ground again, He Shao became frantic, stomping the accelerator pedal mercilessly. Yet, Li Yundong continued to close the distance!

In his panic, He Shao leaned out, trying to shoot Li Yundong. But if Zhao Yujian couldn't hit him at close range, how could He Shao, driving and shooting across a twenty-meter gap?

Li Yundong didn't even bother to dodge. His rage-filled eyes were locked solely on He Shao's car. His footwork grew faster, as if he had donned the Wind Fire Wheels.

He Shao fired several times without effect. When he pulled the trigger again, the mechanism clicked empty. He threw the gun aside, and when he turned back, he realized he had driven onto the wrong side of the road. A vehicle coming toward him slammed head-on.

Terrified, He Shao wrenched the steering wheel. The BMW shrieked, carving a jagged, weaving arc across the pavement.

This maneuver brought Li Yundong right upon him!

"Stop right there!!" Li Yundong had held back from speaking or stopping during the chase, fearing that if he broke his internal qi flow or paused its momentum, He Shao would escape.

But with the BMW right in front of him, Li Yundong could hold back no longer. With a furious roar, he bent low, gripping the chassis underneath the BMW with both hands, and heaved!

The BMW spun several times in mid-air before flying sideways, crashing down near the roadside with a roar, rolling violently.

After tumbling to a stop, He Shao miraculously had not died—only a scrape on his forehead. He scrambled out of the wreck, screaming in desperate madness, "You dare kill me? You dare kill me!"

Li Yundong’s fists were clenched tight, a terrifying killing intent blazing in his eyes: "You think I don't dare kill you?"

He stalked over, lifted He Shao with one hand, his eyes so wide the corners seemed to split, his voice trembling with rage: "You, you morally bankrupt beast, how could you commit such an act!!"

He Shao roared back, "I didn't want to! They forced me! You forced me!"

Li Yundong’s fury peaked. His fist swung high, poised to smash He Shao’s head into pulp, sending blood and brains spraying like a shattered tomato!

But just as the blow was about to land, Zhou Qin, who had arrived driving just behind, shrieked in horror, "No, Li Yundong! If you kill him, you’ll pay with your life!"

Hearing the voice behind him, Li Yundong whipped his head around, his expression savage. "So, we just let him go?"

Zhou Qin abandoned her car, rushing to his side, pleading, "Don't be rash. The law will deal with him. So many people saw the accident; he can't possibly get away!"

As she spoke, Su Chan, Ziyuan, and Ruan Hongling also arrived. Several cars had stopped nearby, their occupants pointing and murmuring.

Seeing the crowd gather, Li Yundong hesitated. He Shao immediately burst into manic laughter. "Hahahaha! Come and kill me! You dare? With all these people watching, where could you run if you killed me!"

Li Yundong shook with contained rage. Zhou Qin shouted at the culprit, "He Shao, you depraved monster! Do you truly believe there is no law in this world to govern you?"

He Shao sprang up, roaring, "Law? What law? Let me tell you, in Tiannan City, I am the law! I am the only law! Who saw me cause the accident? Step forward! Who!"

Ruan Hongling, having followed the entire ordeal, though she had her own history with Li Yundong, couldn't suppress her fury. "You have committed such terrible deeds; aren't you afraid of divine retribution?"

"Divine retribution?" He Shao paused, then doubled over, howling with laughter as if he’d heard the funniest joke in creation.

"Divine retribution! Hee hee hee, hahahaha! You kill me!" He Shao shrieked, pointing at the sky. "Heaven, I have done evil! Come and strike me down!"

He Shao's arrogant bellow carried far, but the world remained utterly calm, undisturbed. Only his own laughter echoed.

Heaven shows no benevolence; it treats all things as straw dogs! How many evildoers tread the earth, yet none have ever been struck down by heaven's lightning!

Everyone understood this truth, yet everyone prayed for a bolt from above to strike this monster dead.

Ruan Hongling ground her teeth in anger and started forward, but Ziyuan gripped her arm, her voice icy. "Stop. Have you forgotten the prohibition against cultivators striking common mortals?"

Ruan Hongling’s fury was suffocating. She hissed, "Don't gloat! Heaven will collect you eventually!"

He Shao only laughed louder, crazed. "Heaven will collect me? Hahahaha! Great Heaven, I beg you, come and collect me!"

He Shao screamed like a raving lunatic for a moment, but the sky remained placid, utterly silent. He Shao laughed wildly. "See? Heaven doesn't care about people like you! Heaven won't collect me!"

Li Yundong could endure no longer. He let out a shattering shout: "If Heaven won't collect you, I will!!"
