After completing the preparations for Foundation Establishment, Li Yundong drew a deep breath, closed his eyes slightly, pressed his tongue to the roof of his mouth, and gradually emptied his mind. Slowly, he felt a surge of heat rising from his lower back, moving to his Dantian, then through the , crossing the Que Bridge, reaching the Niwan Palace, and finally circulating through the extraordinary meridians to the Baihui point on the top of his head.
At this moment, Li Yundong felt a pleasant warmth suffusing his entire body, his thoughts gradually fading, and the soft chanting of Lü Dongbin's verses by Su Chan reaching his ears.
“Concentrate the spirit for still contemplation and further regulate the breath, Use the five senses and seven orifices to listen for the true breath. Listening to the breath and following the breath is most crucial, The human heart and the Dao heart rely on each other. When the ordinary breath stops and the true breath arises, It remains continuous, existing subtly without intention. When the true breath stops and the ordinary breath returns, Every breath roots down into the lower Dantian. The self possesses a universe of heaven and earth, The heart is like heaven, the kidneys like earth. All exhalation enters the root of the Heavenly Origin, All inhalation enters the center of the Earthly Origin. What cannot be exhaled is the heart, what is inhaled passes the navel, This is the true principle of breath regulation; the true heart and true breath are always interdependent, Spirit and Qi rely on each other in deep stillness.”
Li Yundong heard it clearly. Although he couldn't grasp the meaning of this cultivation poem immediately, as his mind gradually emptied, his breath unconsciously began to operate according to the principles described in the verse.
Su Chan, standing nearby, watched Li Yundong’s eyelids closely. When a person closes their eyes, unless sleeping, their eyeballs constantly roll unconsciously if there are thoughts in their mind. When Su Chan noticed the rolling under Li Yundong’s eyelids cease, she knew he had entered the state of stillness without breath, the state of Ruding.
In this state, once the thoughts cease, the true spirit inside automatically manifests—this is what the cultivation poem means by, “When the divine sense severs, the true spirit is born; when the true spirit is born, the Primordial Spirit is refined.”
After entering a deeper state of Ruding, Li Yundong found himself once again situated within the Small Thousand World he had created, transformed into an Immovable Wisdom King with three heads and six arms, towering to the heavens. The last time Li Yundong controlled this boundless true spirit, he nearly fell into the realm of the Great Free Heavenly Demon and could not extricate himself. This time, forewarned, his spirit was far less likely to be shaken by the boundless divine power within him.
Li Yundong attempted to raise a hand, and with a thunderous roar, countless dark clouds rapidly churned in the distant sky, the lightning cracking menacingly. With another wave of his hand, a sharp kacha sound echoed, and countless bolts of heavenly lightning crashed down from above, making the very earth seem to face a devastating thunder calamity, every inch of ground fiercely impacted.
Yet Li Yundong stood unmoved between heaven and earth. Despite the myriad lightning strikes surrounding him, not a single bolt struck him—like a majestic monarch standing on the battlefield, while soldiers charged forward in a tide, yet none dared to approach him.
Watching this world-shattering spectacle, Li Yundong couldn't help but muse: When will I be able to cultivate such divine powers in the real world?
But the moment this thought flickered through his mind, Li Yundong suddenly discovered the entire Small Thousand World shifting violently. He was no longer standing amidst the vast expanse of heaven and earth, but abruptly found himself standing in an ordinary world.
Li Yundong saw He Shao standing there, pointing directly at his nose and shouting obscenities: “What the hell do you think you are? You illiterate little mongrel, daring to fight me for a woman? Little mongrel, I’m telling you, Zhou Qin is my woman. If you dare touch a single hair on her, I’ll wipe you out immediately!”
Wipe me out? I’d like to see who wipes out whom!
Li Yundong was instantly enraged. He raised a hand, and with a thunderous sound, countless heavenly bolts descended, instantly reducing He Shao to ash, his soul scattered. But immediately afterward, people who had held grudges against him—Liu Chuan, Wu Hui, and others—leapt out, cursing loudly: “If you can kill one, can you kill everyone in the world? Was he wrong? You’re just a piece of trash; you’re not worthy of the woman beside you!”
Li Yundong roared in fury. As his anger erupted, even heaven and earth trembled. Clad in terrifying azure lightning energy, he resembled an enraged Heavenly God: “Do you all seek death?”
Just as Li Yundong was about to unleash his power and call down the lightning, Zhou Qin appeared beside him, desperately pleading, “Li Yundong, stop! Killing people is against the law!”
Li Yundong felt at that moment that heaven and earth were within his grasp; no one in the world could defeat him, and nothing could threaten him. He laughed heartily: “Against the law?”
Saying this, Li Yundong pointed one finger to the sky above and another to the earth below, roaring: “This heaven exists because of me, this earth rises because of me! If I will all sentient beings to thrive and grow, only then do they have life. If I will this world to perish and dissipate, they will instantly be annihilated and die! Tell me, what use is this law!”
After speaking, Li Yundong prepared to summon his power to strike down Liu Chuan, Wu Hui, and the others. But at that moment, Feng Na, Cheng Cheng, and Cao Ke Fei all appeared, begging him pitifully: “Even if He Shao deserved to die, these people do not deserve it. Please spare them!”
However, Liu Chuan and Wu Hui and their cohorts remained unrepentant, continuing their barrage of curses.
Li Yundong laughed angrily: “You people are all pretending to be good Samaritans. Have you seen even a trace of repentance in them? People like this might as well be dead!”
With that, Li Yundong prepared again to summon his power to strike down Liu Chuan and Wu Hui, but then Su Chan appeared.
The little fox looked at Li Yundong with an expression of sorrowful grief, pleading softly, “Yundong, no! This is the slaughtering inner demon within you; don’t let it control you, or you will suffer Qi Deviation!”
The moment Li Yundong saw Su Chan, the surging anger within him immediately dissipated considerably, and the flickering lightning aura surrounding him gradually vanished. He stared blankly at Su Chan, slightly annoyed: “You too are trying to persuade me?”
Su Chan walked slowly up to Li Yundong, fixing her eyes intently on him, and said softly, “I am not trying to persuade you; have you forgotten our promise? If you suffer Qi Deviation, you won't be able to achieve Foundation Establishment. If you can't establish the foundation, how can we ascend together?”
As she spoke, Su Chan’s cheeks flushed, her expression shy yet expectant.
Li Yundong’s towering anger vanished instantly. As soon as his rage subsided, he found himself startling awake from his Ruding. He was back in the cramped hotel room, and Su Chan was watching him with a mixture of shock and joy, exclaiming loudly: “Master, you have succeeded in Foundation Establishment!”
Li Yundong was stunned: “I succeeded? No way, that was so simple, so fast?”
Su Chan nodded vigorously, her face blooming into a beautiful smile, wrapping her arms around Li Yundong’s neck: “Of course! My Master is a genius born only once in five hundred years!”
Li Yundong laughed heartily. The beautiful woman before him breathed out a faint fragrance, her delicate, jade-like face filled with an admiring smile—how could this not inflate his pride?
Li Yundong wrapped his arms around the young girl’s waist and chuckled wickedly: “Then does that mean we can do that now?”
Su Chan’s cheeks turned red, and she giggled: “Bad guy, wanting to cause trouble right after succeeding in Foundation Establishment. No!” With that, she tried to run.
Li Yundong wouldn't let her escape. He quickly wrapped his arms around her, lowered his head, and pressed his lips against hers. The moment the young girl was kissed, her body went soft, collapsing bonelessly into his embrace, emitting soft groans from her nose, sweet as melted honey.
Li Yundong had longed for this day for a long time. Hearing that sound made his whole body burn with heat. He reached out toward the young girl’s chest, pressing his entire body slowly down upon the ** of her soft form.
For a time, the two were entangled in a passionate embrace, turning the red curtains into waves. Li Yundong charged and conquered in this intoxicating tenderness that gnawed at his bones, the beauty beneath him panting repeatedly. He was lost in a haze, completely unaware that he had already suffered Qi Deviation!
Wherein lies the horror of the blurring between the real and the illusory? Its terror lies in this: just when you think you are in an illusion, you are actually in the real world; but when you think you have returned to the real world, you are, in fact, still caught in your own illusion.
In the brief time Li Yundong caused upheaval in the Small Thousand World while entering the Foundation Establishment state, two full days had passed in the outside world. Li Yundong, influenced by Su Chan’s effect on him, managed to overcome the inner Heavenly Demon of self, yet simultaneously fell prey to his affection for Su Chan and his longing for **.
Human desires are like a net, layer upon layer, link upon link. One desire is extinguished, only for another to rise, stealthily attacking when one is least prepared.
Li Yundong, in his first Foundation Establishment, knew nothing of this terrifying duality of reality and illusion. Furthermore, before entering meditation, he had already been distracted and filled with lustful thoughts by Su Chan, thereby planting the seed of an inner demon.
He believed at this moment that he had successfully established his foundation and was engaged in intimacy with the young girl, but in reality, in the physical world, Su Chan was drenched in cold sweat from fright.
At this time, the desires rising from Li Yundong's inherent nature in his divine sense were unstoppable, causing the blood flow within his body to accelerate. Most terrifyingly, the thing at his waist, stimulated by lust, rose stiffly and high, with the blood in his body wildly surging toward it.
Su Chan knew Li Yundong must be controlled by the inner demon now; the Qi within him was not circulating normally. Seeing the protrusion at his lower body throbbing with the surge of blood, she was even more terrified, her face turning pale, fearing that Li Yundong would erupt at any second.
During Foundation Establishment, a cultivator is marshalling all the Qi in the body to compress and refine it into an Inner Elixir. At this time, the body is like a pressure cooker, with boiling Qi having nowhere to vent. If Li Yundong were to open the Gate of Essence now, his Perfect Body of Non-Leakage would instantly be broken!
This would be akin to a massive flood suddenly finding a vent, instantly gushing out, taking with it Li Yundong’s precious Golden Core Primordial Qi, which would be lost forever along with the emission of essence!
Su Chan was anxious to the point of burning. She knew that during Foundation Establishment, an outsider must never interfere, let alone assist, otherwise, even the helper might fall into the inner demon and be unable to break free.
But Li Yundong was on the brink of ruin, and Su Chan could no longer afford to hesitate. She gritted her teeth, pressing one hand onto the Baihui point on the top of Li Yundong’s head, and the other hand poking the Lingtai acupoint on his forehead with her index finger.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, there is a method of bloodletting; when the Qi in a person’s body becomes too strong and inflated, one pricks a finger to release the internal Qi through bleeding. Su Chan poked Li Yundong’s Lingtai point as if performing a finger-prick bloodletting; with that touch, the surging Qi inside Li Yundong’s body immediately found an outlet.
While poking the Lingtai point to release pressure, Su Chan poured her own Yin Qi into Li Yundong’s body through the Baihui point on his crown, attempting to stabilize the violently flowing Yang Qi within him.
However, she had not anticipated that the Yang Qi within Li Yundong was far more powerful than she expected. The moment her Yin Qi entered his body, it was instantly met with a ferocious counter-attack from the powerful Yang Qi. This counter-attack was so fierce that in the blink of an eye, it invaded Su Chan’s body, causing her to experience the bone-deep desires that Li Yundong was sinking into in the sea of lust.
Su Chan was immobilized by the impact of Li Yundong’s powerful Qi, her expression pained and terrified. A sliver of despair flashed through her mind: It’s over, now both of us are finished! How could this happen?
