Liu Hui's mother’s hand loosened, and the dish of food she was holding slipped, hitting the ground with a sharp smack, shattering into pieces.

Liu Hui froze, immediately reminded of past incidents involving his mother, and a wave of dread washed over him. His father, hearing the sound of something breaking from inside the room, rushed out, only to find a man standing next to his wife, both of them seemingly agitated.

Liu Hui’s father, Liu Decheng, whose proudest achievement in life was marrying Liu Hui’s mother, kept a close watch on her. Seeing his wife’s unusual emotional state, even without knowing what had happened, he adopted the correct approach: he stepped forward, firmly pulled his wife behind him, and demanded of Chen Shaokang, "Who are you? How did you get into my home?"

Chen Shaokang smiled. "My name is Chen Shaokang. I am Mina’s husband. I am grateful for the care you have given her over the years. I have come today to take her with me."

Liu Decheng started, suddenly recalling Mina’s past experiences. His expression shifted, and he said, "I don't know who you are, but please stop speaking nonsense. I am Mina’s husband; caring for her is my responsibility."

Liu Hui, watching from the side, became furious. He turned to Chen Lang and demanded, "Is this why you came today?"

Chen Lang looked somewhat awkward and said to Chen Shaokang, "Father, have you made a mistake? This is Liu Hui’s mother?"

Chen Shaokang laughed heartily. "Son, how could I possibly be mistaken? She is my beloved, your biological mother. We were forced apart thirty-five years ago. I have been searching for her for thirty years, and today I have finally found her. I am overjoyed."

Liu Decheng was enraged. He shielded Mina behind him and shouted, "You surnamed Chen, what do you mean by that? Mina is my wife. If you know what’s good for you, leave quickly, or I won't be polite."

Chen Shaokang ignored Liu Decheng. He spoke tenderly to Mina. "Nana, I have looked for you for over thirty years, and now I have finally found you. I won't be separated from you again. Look, that is our child; his name is Chen Lang, he is thirty-six this year. Let's live happily together as a family from now on, alright?"

Mina stared blankly at Chen Lang, murmuring, "Is this the prodigal son? I vaguely remember what he looked like as a child; his face resembles mine, much like in my dreams."

Chen Shaokang said excitedly, "He is your son, so naturally, he resembles you. Today is truly a wonderful day; our family is finally reunited."

Liu Decheng roared, "You surnamed Chen, get out of here immediately. Don't set your sights on my wife. Aren't you afraid your own wife at home will find out?"

Chen Shaokang looked at Mina and smiled. "I have no wife. I have loved only Nana my entire life. I thought of her constantly; how could I possibly have married another woman?"

Mina was momentarily stunned and instinctively asked, "Shaokang, have you truly remained unmarried all these years?"

Chen Shaokang nodded. "After we separated, I took Langzi to America and accepted my grandfather's inheritance. I missed you terribly then, so I renamed the company 'Amy Group.' Amy means 'Ai Ni'—loving you—as I held onto the hope of reuniting with you. Because of this, I found none of the women introduced to me suitable, remaining single all that time."

Chen Shaokang paused before continuing, "During those years in America, my heart was heavy, so I poured all my energy into managing the company, achieving some success in the industry. When China implemented the Reform and Opening Up, I returned home and found the very village where we had been sent down to work. However, the villagers told me you had disappeared. I also learned of the suffering you endured for me back then. So, I used my connections to search for traces of you across the country, but fate played cruel tricks, and I could never find a trace of you—I didn't even know if you were alive or dead. Heaven has been kind; today, I have finally found you."

Mina had calmed down by then and said quietly, "Shaokang, it is wonderful to see you again. I am also relieved to see our son has grown so tall. However, I am married now and cannot have any entanglement with you again. You should forget about me."

Chen Shaokang smiled. "I have checked your marriage records. The woman married to this man surnamed Liu is a village woman named Huang Ermei, not my Mina. Therefore, I can take you away openly right now."

Liu Decheng, lacking in eloquence and unable to articulate complex arguments, grew frantic. His face flushed red as he looked at his wife and asked, "Wife, you are mine. We have a happy home, and our son is about to get married. You aren’t going to leave with him, are you?"

Mina’s mind was in turmoil. Seeing her former lover and son at a time she never expected, decades of hidden longing surged through her, leaving her completely bewildered and speechless.

Seeing her silence, Liu Decheng mistakenly assumed she was wavering and became furious. "After all these years of me treating you so well, catering to your every whim, you are being so heartless, wanting to leave me and Xiaohui?"

Chen Shaokang smiled. "You treated Nana well, so her staying with you all these years was repayment of a debt of gratitude. She cared for you for so long; you should be content. But she could never fall in love with you; at most, she feels gratitude. The man she loves is me. I advise you to give up this idea and let her go. You are clearly the interloper who shouldn't have been near Nana."

Liu Decheng turned and asked, "Wife, tell me yourself—do you love me or not?"

Mina did not answer Liu Decheng but looked at Chen Shaokang and said, "Shaokang, why put yourself through this?"

Chen Shaokang smiled. "I am sixty years old and might not be around much longer. I just want to spend the remainder of my life with you. After all, we have wasted too much time; neither of us is young anymore."

Liu Decheng watched their wordless understanding, feeling a surge of bitterness. He let out a loud cry to the heavens, then rushed into the room to sulk alone.

Liu Hui and Hu Xian'er exchanged a glance, sensing trouble, and quickly followed him into the room.

"Dad, how can you be sulking alone in the room at a time like this? If that Chen Shaokang manages to sway Mom with his words and she leaves with him, you’ll have lost everything!" Liu Hui urged.

"That's right, Uncle. Women are at their most vulnerable at moments like this. If you don't comfort her, and Chen Shaokang gets to her first, she might genuinely leave you," Hu Xian'er also advised.

"Dad, remember, you are not fighting alone. We two are here to support you!" Liu Hui urged again, and he and Hu Xian'er made a cheering gesture together.

Liu Decheng had only been acting out of momentary anger. Now, after being persuaded by Liu Hui and Hu Xian'er, he sobered up. His greatest rival for affection was still outside with his wife. He immediately rushed out of the room and saw Mina weeping in Chen Lang's embrace.

Liu Decheng walked over and stood beside Mina, saying, "Wife, he is your son; I won't say more about that. But you can’t be like this with that old man surnamed Chen either."

Chen Shaokang became furious. "What do you mean, 'old man surnamed Chen'? I am Nana's husband! We were privately wed back then; she is my wife. Why can't I embrace her?" With that, he lunged forward, trying to pull Mina into his arms.

Liu Decheng was enraged and blocked Chen Shaokang. The two began to scuffle. Mina was greatly alarmed, released Chen Lang, and repeatedly cried out for them to stop. However, despite their age, both men were consumed by passion, fighting for their future happiness, and paid no heed to her pleas. Liu Hui, Hu Xian'er, and Chen Lang were caught off guard and stood aside, unsure what to do.

Liu Decheng had, after all, received the Rejuvenation Fluid injection, making his body somewhat stronger than Chen Shaokang’s. After a brief struggle, he managed to pin Chen Shaokang down and landed several hard punches on Chen Shaokang’s face. Mina rushed forward and pulled Liu Decheng off Chen Shaokang, crying out, "What are you two doing? Are you trying to drive me to my death?"

Both Liu Decheng and Chen Shaokang were at a loss. Liu Decheng moved to wipe Mina's tears, but she immediately shoved him away and ran out of the room. Both men started to chase after her, but then they heard Mina shout, "Neither of you is allowed to follow me, or I will never see either of you again." The two men exchanged a look but dared not follow.

Liu Hui glared fiercely at Chen Shaokang and Chen Lang, then chased after Hu Xian'er. He caught up with his mother downstairs and was about to persuade her to return when Hu Xian'er intervened, saying, "Auntie, we can't go back home right now. Why don't we find a hotel to stay at nearby?"

Liu Hui’s mother was at her wit's end. Accompanied by Liu Hui and Hu Xian'er, they went to the Hong Kong Shangri-La Hotel. Worried that his father and Chen Shaokang might resume fighting, Liu Hui called Mei Peng and asked him to bring some security personnel to his home to protect his father's safety.

Liu Hui booked a luxurious Presidential Suite at the Shangri-La, putting his mother in the main, larger room. Fearing his mother might have problems being alone, he arranged for Hu Xian'er to share the room with her for mutual support, while he took the smaller connecting room.

Liu Hui was caught completely off guard by the day's events. In a confused rush, he had brought Chen Shaokang back to his home, injecting endless variables into his once stable family life, a situation he deeply regretted. Although he suddenly had a biological brother, he never wanted this to happen; his mother should only be his mother, not someone else's.

Liu Hui was filled with self-reproach toward his father. He couldn't sleep, tossing and turning until the deep hours of the night before finally drifting off.

Liu Hui was handling business matters in his office. The Star Sky Group was flourishing, and all projects were progressing smoothly, bringing him closer to realizing his ambitions, which put him in high spirits.

At eleven in the morning, Liu Hui suddenly felt an internal pang, and the sky instantly darkened. He pulled open the window and saw that the sky had become completely covered with black cloud cover; the sun had vanished early on. Other employees in the company also curiously opened their windows to look outside.

Liu Hui felt a pang of suspicion, and then he saw a fireball appear from within the dark clouds. The fireball grew larger and larger, rapidly plunging toward the ground. It hit with a tremendous boom, landing precisely on the mountain in Tseung Kwan O, not far from the Star Sky Group headquarters. A violent explosion followed, creating a huge mushroom cloud in the sky. The blast from the fireball vaporized the ground in a one-kilometer radius, leaving only a massive crater. The intense shockwave even shattered all the glass in Liu Hui’s office windows.

"Holy mother of—what in the world was that?" Liu Hui exclaimed, but he immediately sensed that the situation was far from normal.

Because Liu Hui quickly saw a second fireball descending from the same mass of black clouds. This large fireball landed near Times Square on Hong Kong Island, causing a violent explosion that obliterated the surrounding high-rise buildings and engulfed countless citizens in a sea of fire. This single blast undoubtedly cost countless lives; another mushroom cloud rose into the air.

"If this isn't war, then the Earth is being attacked by meteorites," Liu Hui realized with a start. Recognizing the danger, he rushed downstairs. By then, order in the office building had collapsed, and everyone was scrambling to leave.

Liu Hui dared not use the elevator for fear of getting trapped. Relying on his strong physique, he fought his way through the crowd, carving a path toward his home.

His parents and Hu Xian'er were all still at home. Seeing the critical situation, Liu Hui intended to run back and get them out; regardless of whether it was war or a meteorite strike, they needed to take shelter somewhere safe first.

As Liu Hui was running furiously toward his home, he saw a fireball descend, its trajectory aimed directly near the dormitory building where he lived.

"No!" Liu Hui cried out in a heart-wrenching scream, but the massive fireball was not swayed by his will; it slammed into the ground nonetheless, the resulting explosion instantly destroying all structures within a one-kilometer radius.

Liu Hui was knocked to the ground by the shockwave. He immediately scrambled up and stood there dumbfounded, unable to process what he had witnessed. Only after the dust settled did he see a colossal pit before him where his dormitory building used to stand. Furthermore, the Star Sky Group he had worked so hard to build was half-destroyed by this single blast.

"How could this happen? What on earth is going on? Can someone tell me?" Liu Hui roared to the heavens in grief and fury.

"Boss, why are you still here? Hurry up and run, this place is about to be submerged," a company employee rushed past, seeing Liu Hui standing motionless, and urged him kindly.

"What did you say? This place is about to be submerged?" Liu Hui stopped him, grabbing the employee to prevent him from leaving.

The employee stammered fearfully, "Boss, the television just broadcasted news that the Earth is passing through a meteor belt along its rotation path. The planet has entered this belt, and these fireballs are the meteorites attacking the Earth. Not only is Hong Kong experiencing meteorite strikes, but almost every place in the world is being hit. Moreover, a gigantic meteorite fell into the Pacific Ocean, generating a tsunami hundreds of meters high. The news said this wave will reach Hong Kong in half an hour. If you don't leave now, you'll be drowned!"

Liu Hui was instantly devastated. He had never imagined the Earth would suffer a meteorite assault. Not only had his family been directly killed by a meteorite strike, but the Star Sky Group he had built with such effort was also half-ruined. Years of his hard work were seemingly wasted in an instant.

"Boss, let's go quickly! It's too dangerous here. We are near the coast; no one can escape when the tsunami hits," the employee urged.

Just then, a meteorite pierced the black clouds and plunged into the sea near the Star Sky Group. A massive wave immediately surged up from the ocean surface, charging toward the shore with destructive force, completely annihilating the Star Sky Group buildings.

"Boss, run!" The employee grabbed Liu Hui, shoved him into a waiting car, and quickly started the engine, speeding away before the giant wave could catch up.

All along the way, they saw meteorites falling from the sky, causing violent explosions and forming mushroom clouds. The city was erupting in explosions everywhere, engulfed in flames, with thick smoke blotting out the sky. Countless people were crying out in agony—a scene of utter, apocalyptic devastation.

After escaping the coastline, the employee drove onto the highway, skillfully evading several burning cars caused by explosions, heading toward Hong Kong Island.

Liu Hui felt profound sorrow. He turned on the car radio, which was broadcasting news reports.

The radio reported that the Earth was currently traversing a massive meteoroid stream within the solar system, and the attacks on the planet had reached a peak. Virtually nowhere was safe from bombardment. More critically, the greatest catastrophe for humanity lay in two enormous meteorites that had struck the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, each generating tsunamis hundreds of meters high that had already submerged many Pacific islands and countries in their path. That wave was still advancing and would reach Hong Kong soon. Furthermore, scientists’ latest calculations indicated that an even larger, super-sized meteorite was due to strike the Earth in an hour, at which point the entire planet would be annihilated, with no place left to hide.

The radio had somehow brought on an expert, who stated, "The world's major powers knew about this impending meteorite attack well in advance but chose not to disclose the information to the public, fearing widespread panic. Now that humanity is under assault, the heads of state and high-ranking officials have all retreated to pre-built bunkers. However, even they cannot escape. Once that super-meteorite arrives, the Earth will be finished, and humanity will be over…"
