Two successive gunshots made Chris and the others, who were in another large classroom, freeze. The exchange students from American universities all stood up in unison, causing an uproar. Since gun control in the United States is not strict and almost every household owns a firearm, many among them had handled guns, and some were even gun enthusiasts. Therefore, they immediately recognized those two sounds.

"My God, I didn't mishear that, did I?" John exclaimed in shock. "Gunshots? I actually heard gunshots in a country where firearms circulation is strictly prohibited?"

Chris paused for only a moment: "Where are the gunshots coming from?"

John was a practitioner and skilled at discerning sound direction. He stated, "It sounds like it's coming from the direction of Master's class."

Although Li Yundong had not formally accepted John as a disciple, John stubbornly insisted on calling Li Yundong "Master," and every time he saw Li Yundong, he would greet him with deference, showing no sign of holding a grudge for Li Yundong's previous prank on him.

Upon hearing John, Chris ignored the ongoing lecture, spun around, and bolted out of the classroom. John immediately followed suit.

"Chris, are you crazy?" John shouted. "Where are you going? Trying to be a hero?"

The classroom where Chris was attending class was separated from the large, trapezoidal classroom where Li Yundong was by only one academic building. As she ran, she shouted, "I'm going to see what's happening! Don't forget, I'm a dual-degree student—besides studying Chinese Language and Literature, I'm also in the Journalism department. The closer I am to the scene, the closer I am to the Pulitzer Prize! That's the famous saying of Master Capa!"

John muttered under his breath, cursing, "Capa never said it like that, you madwoman!"

The two quickly arrived at the base of the building where the shots originated. At this time, the vast majority of the university students had not yet grasped what had happened.

Chris observed for a moment and whispered, "The fact that these students haven't fled yet indicates the gunman hasn't started a general massacre."

John looked at her tensely, "Hey, Chris, this isn't a game, and it's no joke. You don't want us to carry you out horizontally, do you!"

Chris's grandmother was from a prominent family; while studying in England, she defied her family’s objections to marry a penniless sailor in London. When World War II broke out, the family took a tanker to Pennsylvania, USA, eventually settling down.

After enduring the hardships of starting a business, the family slowly grew into a local dynasty with considerable influence and status.

Chris was the youngest daughter of her parents, with four older brothers and two younger sisters above her. She grew up primarily with her grandmother and grandfather. She inherited not only her Chinese grandmother's lineage but also her grandmother's deep affinity for China, marked by intense interest and passion for Chinese civilization. Simultaneously, she inherited the wild, adventurous spirit unique to her British grandfather, the sailor.

Chris glanced back at John, her eyes glittering with an excited yet tense light. She crouched slightly and whispered to John, "Stop talking nonsense, John. If you're not afraid to die, follow me! Or, you could try dialing 911?"

John gasped, "911? That's not the emergency number in this country. Don't treat me like I know nothing about this place! The emergency number here is 110!"

Chris retorted, "Then dial 110!"

John cursed, "This is my domestic cell phone. If I call it, are the domestic police going to airdrop here? Good heavens, that would trigger World War III!"

Chris chuckled, "Then shut up! I'm off to shoot my Pulitzer Prize! The Philadelphia Inquirer would be very interested in this kind of news!"

Saying that, Chris turned and rushed inside. After taking two steps, she turned back, gritting her teeth to add, "Also, I really hope that gunman blows your Master’s head off!"

John was greatly startled and grabbed Chris, "Hey, you're joking, right?"

Chris gave a cunning smile, "You caught me, I was joking!"

John gave her a look of resignation and quickly followed her upstairs.

As Chris navigated her way, the closer they got to Li Yundong's classroom, the greater the resistance they encountered. More and more students became aware of what was happening inside the classroom, screaming and shoving their way down the stairs.

"Look!" John pulled Chris's arm and pointed to a female student sitting near a classroom doorway.

Only half of the girl’s body was visible from the side, but what sent a chill down their spines was the lifeless hand lying beside her.

Chris held her breath, approached the classroom door, peered out slightly, activated her phone's camera function, and extended the phone.

Chris had no idea that this single act of peering out would completely alter the fates of both her and John.

Inside the classroom at that moment, all the students were paralyzed with terror; not a single person dared to rise and resist. Even the students closest to Zhao Yujian dared not move.

Only Li Yundong stood alone in the back row, standing out like a crane among chickens.

The moment Zhao Yujian saw Li Yundong, his eyes burned with hatred. The killing intent in his eyes grew stronger, and his grip on the gun tightened. When the killing intent in his eyes reached its boiling peak, he suddenly raised the gun and fired at Li Yundong!

At this moment, Li Yundong's entire body was suffused with internal energy. The instant Zhao Yujian raised his hand, he sensed a sharp, piercing pain near his forehead with keen intensity. Li Yundong immediately jerked his head aside. Almost simultaneously with the gunshot, his head moved a short distance away, and the bullet grazed past his ear.

Zhao Yujian, seeing his first shot miss Li Yundong, was momentarily stunned, then immediately fired again!

This time, Li Yundong felt a sharp, piercing pain in his right chest. Again, at the instant the shot rang out, he immediately shifted his body sideways, as if two people had pulled the trigger and shifted stance simultaneously.

Zhao Yujian’s second shot also went wide. This time, a look of intense doubt and bewilderment appeared in his eyes. Not only him, but everyone present found it unbelievable that someone could dodge bullets in real life—unless they were watching a movie!

Zhao Yujian's hesitation lasted less than two seconds. He quickly gritted his teeth and emptied the pistol’s cylinder by repeatedly pulling the trigger while aiming at Li Yundong.

In that split second, Li Yundong felt an extremely terrifying danger surge towards him. The internal energy in his body surged to its absolute peak. His blood vessels distended, his muscles tensed with high excitement, and every hair on his body stood on end, straining outward like radar, trying to probe and search for the direction from which the impending danger would strike through the air!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!!!"

Three consecutive shots rang out! As Zhao Yujian pulled the trigger each time, Li Yundong’s body flashed from one posture to another with lightning speed, his movements so fast that they seemed to leave afterimages.

The students next to him stared at Li Yundong with wide eyes, as if they had never seen this young man before. A fanatic of Resident Evil 5 seemed to see the villain Wesker appear, capable of evading bullets!

Li Yundong successfully dodged five shots in a row. This extremely incredible feat led the students in the classroom to have a momentary illusion: that all the shots from Zhao Yujian’s gun, except the first, were blanks!

One student bravely stood up and tried to sprint out, attempting to escape the area.

Zhao Yujian, having missed several shots consecutively, was also startled by Li Yundong and stood frozen in place. He glanced down at the pistol in his hand, instinctively wanting to pull out the magazine to check if it contained blanks!

But when Zhao Yujian noticed the escapee, he didn't hesitate; he immediately raised his hand and fired!

With a "bang," the student was hit in the back and collapsed near the doorway! The students in the classroom let out a collective gasp. Only then did everyone realize that the shots Zhao Yujian had just fired at Li Yundong were not blanks!

Seeing that the bullets in his gun were real, Zhao Yujian burst into triumphant laughter. He pointed at Li Yundong, pulled the trigger, and another shot flew out with a "bang."

The moment the muzzle turned towards him, Li Yundong sensed danger and executed another lightning-fast sidestep. The bullet once again zipped past his chest.

This shot also missed!

The classroom was dead silent! All the students looked at Li Yundong with a strange mixture of terror and shock, as if this young man was fundamentally an alien!

Zhao Yujian was trembling all over. He stared at Li Yundong, seeing that this former unremarkable student now fixed him with intensely sharp eyes, like a hunter sighting his prey.

In that instant, Zhao Yujian was drenched in sweat. He felt as if a demon was grinning ferociously at him! When he had casually executed living beings one after another with his pistol, the thrill of playing with others' lives in the palm of his hand had once made him feel omnipotent, like a god! But now, Zhao Yujian discovered with fearful trembling that the figure standing before him was a "god" whom mortals could neither compare with nor even fathom!

At the doorway, John and Chris stared dumbfounded at the scene displayed on the phone screen, their eyeballs nearly popping out of their sockets.

John stammered, "Oh, God, Jesus Christ, how is this possible? Is he dodging bullets? Are we watching The Matrix?"

Chris was also deeply shaken by Li Yundong's almost supernatural performance, her scalp tingling, but her reaction was a beat faster than John's. She pointed at the student who had been shot at the door, "Quick, pull that person out! See if there’s any chance of saving them!"

John gritted his teeth, crawled forward, and cautiously poked his head out. Seeing Zhao Yujian standing dazed inside the classroom, completely unaware of them, he finally mustered the courage to reach out and slowly drag the teacher and student who had been shot at the threshold out.

Sweating profusely, John dragged both of them out. He immediately spotted the teacher who had been shot in the head; without even checking for a pulse, he shook his head, "This one is beyond saving." Then, he checked the pulse of the other student and let out a cry of relief, "This one still has a pulse!"
