Ye Jingyu had no idea if Luo Haitian would rebel; even if he did know, he lacked the inclination to stop it at this moment. This was precisely why Zhuge Yi Shi had refrained from sharing his conjectures with him...
At this juncture, only one thought occupied Ye Jingyu's mind, a single, burning obsession: finding the Turbid Dragon, finding the Heaven-Defying Fruit, and bringing Luo Ling'er back to life...
It must be admitted that Ni Bo's speed was genuinely astonishing, surpassing even that of sacred beasts like the Unicorn. When Ni Bo poured all its vital energy into running, its velocity reached an almost unbelievable degree.
Covering a distance of nearly thirty thousand li, Ni Bo managed the journey to the edge of the Blue Dream Marsh in a mere two and a half days...
The moment it landed, Ni Bo collapsed entirely, its massive body spread prone on the ground. Two and a half days of relentless travel had utterly drained even its formidable stamina. Had the bloodline of the Qilin not coursed through its veins, it might well have perished from exhaustion...
Looking at Ni Bo, which was now panting and frothing at the mouth, Ye Jingyu felt a profound wave of emotion. He knew that for this journey spanning tens of thousands of li, Ni Bo had risked its very life...
"Xiao Hei, you stay here at the edge and get some proper rest. I'll go in and look around myself!" Ye Jingyu gently stroked Xiao Hei’s head as he spoke softly.
Ni Bo was panting heavily, managing only a slight nod. It wasn't that it refused to enter the Blue Dream Marsh; it was simply that its strength was completely spent. To go further would only drag Ye Jingyu down...
Seeing Xiao Hei acquiesce, a silver light shot out from the center of Ye Jingyu's brow, sweeping across the surrounding area like a scanner. Once he confirmed that no creature nearby could harm Xiao Hei, Ye Jingyu turned and stepped into the Blue Dream Marsh...
The Blue Dream Marsh was situated in the southernmost region of the Southern Wilderness Forest, close to the South Sea. It was a vast swamp constantly enveloped by swamp gas laced with potent toxins—a place even the sacred beasts avoided.
It was called the Blue Dream Marsh because the gas here possessed a distinct blue hue. Normal eyesight could penetrate at most one zhang; even with Ye Jingyu's superior vision, he could only clearly distinguish objects within three zhang. Anything beyond that faded into an impenetrable blur...
Treading cautiously through the mire, inhaling the strangely fragrant swamp gas, and observing the incredibly beautiful yet utterly bizarre flora, Ye Jingyu felt as though he had stepped into a dream...
The Blue Dream Marsh—it truly was a marsh of blue dreams. Everything here was so fantastical, even the air itself. Yet, the question remained: could an ordinary person withstand the invasion of this gas?
Ye Jingyu understood that his physical body, the Chaos Physique, rendered him virtually immune to all manner of poisons, which was why he ignored the gas entirely. For anyone else, even a Martial God, entering this place would necessitate enveloping themselves in Profound Energy for protection, as their divine bodies could scarcely withstand such venomous vapors...
The ground was damp, faintly sludgy, but with Ye Jingyu’s current cultivation, sinking into a mud pit was impossible. His five senses were heightened to their extreme, keenly perceiving everything around him...
After walking for about fifteen minutes, covering several thousand meters, he had encountered no animals, not even a hint of vitality. The entire world was steeped in dead silence.
Were there truly no living things here? Looking at the vividly colored vegetation surrounding him, such a doubt surfaced in Ye Jingyu’s mind...
"Swoosh..." Just then, a sharp sound ripped through the air. Ye Jingyu pointed a single finger, and a flash of golden sword light erupted from his fingertip—the Spiritual Rhino Finger—stabbing straight ahead...
With a "Chik..." sound, as if striking something solid, Ye Jingyu looked down to see the corpse of a frog-like creature lying on the ground.
This frog, however, was entirely covered in scales, presenting a uniform blue coloration, resembling an amphibian clad in azure armor...
But now, pierced by Ye Jingyu’s sword, blue blood seeped from the wound...
As this sound echoed, a chorus of "Croak, croak, croak" suddenly erupted ahead. Ye Jingyu’s eyebrows arched. The Eye of Samsara on his brow swept over the area, instantly revealing at least a thousand fist-sized blue frogs crouching in the marsh, their round eyes fixed upon him as they encircled him...
"Strange. These armored frogs possess almost no offensive capability. Why are they coming here to die?" Ye Jingyu murmured to himself, observing these essentially defenseless Jiawa...
But at that precise moment, the cacophony of croaking abruptly ceased. Following the silence came a series of booming sounds, like the beating of immense drums...
"Whoosh..." A colossal intake of breath echoed from above, immediately followed by an overwhelming suction force. Ye Jingyu's heart seized. He slammed both hands down onto the earth to anchor himself against the pull, but the surrounding blue swamp gas offered no resistance, swept away like water encountering a massive pump.
In a short time, the blue gas covering an area of about one li was entirely inhaled. Suddenly, Ye Jingyu could see the landscape ahead, and the culprit responsible for devouring the miasma became clear.
Upon seeing the perpetrator, even Ye Jingyu’s steadfast composure cracked, and he instinctively sucked in a sharp breath of air...
About a hundred meters ahead of him squatted a gigantic creature, entirely covered in blue scales, yet bearing an identical appearance to a frog.
The reason for calling it gigantic was its sheer size: it stood as tall as a two-story building, resembling a massive, squatting statue. Compared to it, the fist-sized Jiawa nearby looked small, and Ye Jingyu himself seemed no larger than a fly standing before it...
Its eyeballs alone were the size of washbasins, and the tongue it extended resembled a monstrous python, lashing back and forth in the air...
Ye Jingyu harbored no doubt: if this colossal toad decided to prey on him, he would be swallowed whole without a second thought...
This was only on the periphery of the Blue Dream Marsh; what terrors lay deeper within?
"This is not where you belong. Leave this place..." Just then, a human voice suddenly sounded. Ye Jingyu froze in astonishment. Had this giant frog achieved sentience? Before he could fully process this, a head emerged from the creature's back...
