The welcome banquet for Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals officially commenced that evening. All employees of Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals and everyone brought by Liu Hui attended—a gathering totaling nearly one hundred people.

Manager Zhao, acting as the host, first delivered an enthusiastic welcoming speech before inviting Liu Hui to address the crowd.

Liu Hui took the microphone, surveying the employees below. Many of them had been recruited from Hong Kong; he didn't recognize most of them.

He began, "Esteemed colleagues, I am Liu Hui, and I am genuinely pleased to see you all gathered here. Many of you likely do not know me, and perhaps feel a degree of apprehension. However, that is unimportant. Soon, you will be proud of the choice you have made today. I am about to create miracles on this barren land that will astonish the world. We will make the name Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals renowned globally. I may not know many of you personally, but I ask you to trust me and follow my lead. I will realize your dreams. As long as you possess ability and diligence, I will provide you the space to showcase your talents, enabling you to achieve accomplishments recognized by the entire world."

Hearing Liu Hui speak, the Hong Kong employees exhibited little outward excitement. They were primarily working simply to support their families; ideals and grand achievements felt distant and abstract to them. Conversely, the security guards and bodyguards who had followed Liu Hui to Hong Kong, knowing his history, believed every word he said, and their reaction was overwhelmingly fervent.

Liu Hui, noticing the subdued response from the new staff, understood their mindset perfectly. Still, he felt no anger. Time, he reasoned, would be the ultimate validator.

After Liu Hui finished speaking, the banquet officially began. Liu Hui had placed enormous importance on this evening, setting exceptionally high standards, primarily to reassure those who had accompanied him to Hong Kong.

Evidently, the lavish spread pleased the employees greatly. Led by Manager Zhao, the new staff, and guided by Wu Yuanjia, the veteran employees, took turns offering toasts to Liu Hui. To their surprise, Liu Hui drained every glass presented to him and offered warm words of encouragement to each person. His bold and generous demeanor endeared him to the staff. Though uncertain about the future of their work, they certainly approved of his drinking capacity.

Of course, Liu Hui could not possibly drink all that wine. He had already transferred the contents of the glasses into his Storage Space. To avoid arousing suspicion, he intentionally spilled some liquid onto his clothes and excused himself to the restroom several times.

Everyone enjoyed the evening immensely. Around the tables, camaraderie blossomed quickly, easing the melancholy of leaving their hometowns. The feast formally concluded around ten that night. Everyone departed for home, eager for rest after a long day. Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals had arranged shuttle services for employees living in the city, dropping them off individually. Liu Hui returned home, exchanged a few brief words with his parents, and went straight to bed.

The next morning, when Liu Hui woke up, his mother had already prepared breakfast, and his father was watching the television news.

"My two fine gentlemen, come and eat!" his mother chirped cheerfully.

"Mom, it’s been ages since I had your breakfast," Liu Hui said, savoring the memory of his mother’s cooking.

"Since it's been so long, eat plenty today. It’s a pity we left in such a hurry; I didn't bring any of our homemade preserved vegetables. Otherwise, pickled veggies with steamed buns would be true bliss. I’ll go buy a few jars later to start some new preserves. You two gentlemen eat first; I’ll check on the congee I’m cooking." His mother smiled and retreated to the kitchen.

Liu Hui looked at his father eating a bun opposite him and asked quietly, "Dad, there's something I wanted to ask you, if it's alright?"

"Xiao Hui, just say it. I’m your father, why be so formal?" his father responded with mild displeasure.

"Dad, do you know about Mom’s past? I mean, before she met you?" Liu Hui inquired.

"Since you ask like that, has someone been telling you things about your mother?" His father set down his bun.

"Someone mentioned some things about Mom’s past, and since I don't know the full story, I wanted to confirm it with you," Liu Hui said, a touch of nervousness in his voice.

"I know everything about your mother’s past; she told me every detail herself. Her family background was that of a capitalist, she had a previous husband, and even had a child with him, though they were separated later. But I don't care. I am even grateful for the political climate back then; without it, I never would have been able to marry your mother. You know, these past few decades living with your mother have been the happiest of my entire life." His father grew reflective as he spoke.

"Dad, you really don't mind Mom's past?" Liu Hui asked carefully.

"Why should I? If you truly love someone, you don't let outside interference dictate your feelings. Living with your mother is the greatest joy I know; so why should I dwell on her past affairs? Look, aren't I living happily now?" his father said proudly.

"Oh, I see now," Liu Hui nodded.

"Son, are you troubled by the matter concerning Liang Jingyue?" his father suddenly asked.

"A little troubled, yes. I don't know how to face her," Liu Hui admitted, not hiding anything from his father.

"My son, think carefully in your heart: are you happy when you are with Liang Jingyue? Do you feel profound sadness when you are apart? Do you have an overwhelming urge to see her? The key question is, do you still love her in your heart?" his father advised with deep sincerity.

"What are you two gentlemen discussing?" His mother walked over with a smile.

"Oh, nothing much. Your son and I were just exchanging some reflections on life," his father chuckled, subtly shooting Liu Hui a meaningful look.

Liu Hui understood and smiled. "That’s right, Dad taught me an important lesson about how to live!"

After breakfast, Liu Hui proceeded to his office in the main administrative building. A crucial meeting was scheduled for that morning. As he entered the conference room, it was already full of people. Upon seeing Liu Hui, everyone immediately stood up and called out, "Boss is here!"

Liu Hui nodded at them, gesturing for them to sit. Manager Zhao was chairing the meeting today and, seeing Liu Hui enter, whispered quickly, "Boss, all department heads are present. Shall we begin immediately?"

"Everyone is here? Then let’s start. But before we dive in, let’s have a round of introductions. I still don’t know most of you!" Liu Hui said with a smile.

"Everyone, since this is the first meeting called by the Boss, please introduce yourselves!" Manager Zhao announced.

"Boss, I am Huang Ying from the Finance Department."

"Boss, I am Qian Meiyuan from the Office Administration."

"Boss, I am Zhang Yabin from the Management Department."

"Boss, I am Qu Quanzhong from the Legal Advisory Office."

"Boss, I am Jia Jian from the Production Department."

"Boss, I am Wu Jiancai from the Transportation Center."

"Boss, I am Ding Chengyun from the Construction Division."

"Everyone, I am Mei Peng, who came with the Boss."

"Everyone, I am Liu Lin, who came with the Boss."

"Everyone, I am Zhou Tengyun, who came with the Boss."

"Everyone, I am Wu Yuanjia, who came with the Boss."

"Everyone, I am Huang Huali, who came with the Boss."

"Indeed, I know you already. You have all done exceptionally well. The establishment and opening of Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals would not have been possible without your diligent efforts. I am very satisfied with your work; Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals has met my expectations. Therefore, I have decided to award a bonus of one hundred thousand yuan to every department head who participated in the (establishment phase), and fifty thousand yuan to every general staff member involved."

Those involved in the establishment phase were overjoyed, and the office instantly filled with expressions of praise and admiration.

"Now, let us invite the Boss to give us his work directives!" Manager Zhao initiated the applause, and everyone quickly joined in.

Liu Hui smiled. "Once the rewards are distributed, we will move to the main agenda! This meeting today is extremely important; it will determine the company's direction for the foreseeable future. I expect everyone to fully grasp every word I say and perform their duties to the best of their ability."

"First, I will discuss our company structure. I plan to establish Starry Sky Group, under which several subsidiary companies will operate. Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals is established; I intend to create Starry Sky Security Company, Starry Sky Hospital, Starry Sky Construction Company, Starry Sky Sales Company, Starry Sky Transportation Company, Starry Sky Legal Advisory Center, and Starry Sky Technology Research Laboratory." Liu Hui stated.

Everyone diligently took notes of what Liu Hui was saying.

Liu Hui continued, "However, our current focus must be on Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals and Starry Sky Security; the other subsidiaries will be established gradually later. I will now announce a few personnel appointments: Comrade Zhao Yunhua will serve as the General Manager of Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals, assisted by Comrade Mei Peng. Comrade Wu Yuanjia will serve as the General Manager of Starry Sky Security Company, assisted by Comrades Huang Huali and Zhou Tengyun. Comrade Liu Lin will assist Comrade Qian Meiyuan in office administration. All other positions will remain unchanged for the time being."

The department heads from Hong Kong visibly relaxed. They had feared being replaced by Liu Hui’s trusted faction from the mainland. Given the exceptionally high salaries at Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals, they valued their positions greatly.

"Our most critical task moving forward, under the leadership of Zhao Yuanhua and Mei Peng, is to fully devote ourselves to the installation, debugging of the production lines, and the clinical trials for our new product. Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals' first product will be 'Starry Sky Myopia Cure' for treating nearsightedness. This drug has already undergone clinical trials with excellent results; it can restore a nearsighted person's vision to optimal levels within a single day and ensure they will not suffer from myopia again for five years. We must bring this product to market as quickly as possible; the focus of every department must shift towards these two tasks." Liu Hui introduced the new drug with palpable conviction.

"Whoa!" A wave of astonishment swept through the room. Except for Mei Peng and Zhou Tengyun, who had prior knowledge, everyone hearing about this drug for the first time was deeply shocked. They were keenly aware of the enormous market for treating nearsightedness—a condition for which there was currently no cure on the market. If their drug launched, it could capture the majority, perhaps even monopolize, the market! The orders generated could sustain Starry Sky Pharmaceuticals for years; the profits it could contribute were staggering. The mere thought excited them immensely.

Liu Hui was highly satisfied with their reaction. He had deliberately revealed this stunning piece of information to boost their confidence, enhance cohesion within the company, and motivate them to exert a hundred percent of their fighting spirit.

"Therefore, we must launch this drug as soon as possible. I hope everyone will put their minds together and complete this task promptly. Furthermore, our current manpower is severely insufficient. Please, department heads, prepare a list of personnel requirements, detailing the positions we lack. We will conduct unified external recruitment." Liu Hui continued issuing his directives.
