Zhou Tengyun sighed resignedly and drove away from the hospital with Liu Hui. The street beside the hospital was still thronged with police officers, and on the outermost perimeter of the police cordon, several people were engaged in a heated argument.

“Boss, it’s Captain Wu and Captain Huang.” Zhou Tengyun spotted the quarreling parties at a glance.

“Let’s go take a look.”

Zhou Tengyun drove the car over. Wu Yuanjia and Huang Huali were arguing with the police officers on the edge of the perimeter. They insisted they were hospital security personnel and needed access to protect the hospital. The police, however, informed them that all roads were sealed, the entire street was under lockdown, and any further obstruction would result in their immediate arrest. But Wu Yuanjia and Huang Huali refused to back down; emotions were running high on both sides, and it looked dangerously close to a physical confrontation.

“Captain Wu, Captain Huang,” Liu Hui said weakly, rolling down the window.

“Boss,” Wu Yuanjia saw Liu Hui in the car immediately.

“You all leave here now, head straight to the training center outside the city. We’ll discuss anything else tomorrow.” Liu Hui insisted on finishing his statement; he had coughed up a great deal of blood that evening and was starting to feel dizzy.

Seeing Liu Hui in that state, Wu Yuanjia and Huang Huali quickly disciplined their men and departed with him.

Zhou Tengyun drove toward the residential complex where Liu Hui and Liang Jingyue once lived. It was already past 2:00 AM; the streets were deserted, and the surroundings were deathly silent. Bashan City was situated by the river, and a thick mist had suddenly risen from the water, slowly enveloping the road. Even with all the headlights on, they could barely see two meters ahead.

Zhou Tengyun carefully navigated the car, his eyes scanning the surroundings. Suddenly, the sound of a vehicle moving at high speed ripped through the dense fog ahead, and then a strangely shaped car burst forth from the haze. The event was so sudden that Zhou Tengyun had no time to swerve; the odd vehicle slammed into the front of their car, crushing the hood. The vehicle bucked violently, and Liu Hui began vomiting blood uncontrollably.

The bizarrely shaped car, after wrecking Zhou Tengyun’s vehicle, sustained absolutely no visible damage itself. The driver of the strange car had become motionless, and the monstrosity remained jammed against their crushed hood. Enraged, Zhou Tengyun retrieved a wrench from the driver's compartment and hurled it with full force at the strange car. Given Zhou Tengyun’s current superhuman strength, the force imparted to the wrench was immense. Yet, when it struck the strange car’s glass, it only produced a dull thud; not even a scratch appeared on the surface.

The driver of the strange car seemed startled awake by the noise, immediately began reversing, and then sped away. The car weaved erratically down the road, as if being driven while intoxicated. Just as Zhou Tengyun prepared to pursue, he noticed Liu Hui beside him had fallen unconscious. After a moment of hesitation, he immediately spun the car around and headed toward the suburban villa.

Zhou Tengyun reached the villa swiftly. He carried Liu Hui down to the basement, began splashing cold water on his face, and repeatedly called his name until Liu Hui finally opened his eyes.

“Boss, hurry and get that thing out! You’re fading fast, hurry!” Zhou Tengyun yelled anxiously.

Liu Hui stared blankly at Zhou Tengyun, only seeing his mouth moving but hearing nothing of what he said. Zhou Tengyun slapped Liu Hui’s face, shouting, “Get the thing out quickly! The one that heals injuries, be fast!”

Only then did Liu Hui clearly register Zhou Tengyun’s words. He made a slight movement, and the Bioregeneration Tank materialized before them. Zhou Tengyun was overjoyed; he immediately lifted Liu Hui into the tank, secured the respirator over his face, sealed the lid, and pressed the activation button. The Bioregeneration Tank flashed with white light, and Liu Hui slipped into a deep coma.

Liu Hui was speeding down the road in his car. After being fully healed within the tank, he discovered everyone connected to him gathered at the villa. He exchanged brief words with them, made a few necessary arrangements, barely pausing to comfort his own parents, and then drove off toward his former residential complex.

Liu Hui arrived at the complex, parked the car without even locking the doors, and ran toward his old apartment. He paused at the doorway, looking at the familiar door, uncertain how he should address Liang Jingyue once inside. His hands trembling, he pulled out his key, slowly unlocked the door, and stepped in.

“Huh? Jingyue isn’t here?” Liu Hui didn’t see Liang Jingyue upon entering. He searched the room carefully, confirming evidence of her recent presence but finding no clue as to her current whereabouts.

Liu Hui immediately pulled out his phone and dialed Liang Jingyue’s number; it remained switched off. He then called Liang Bo, but that line was also dead. He continued by calling Liang Bo’s home number, but there was no answer.

Liu Hui felt a surge of disorientation. He couldn't fathom where Liang Jingyue had gone; the room offered no clues whatsoever. With a crestfallen expression, he turned to leave, just as the door across the hall opened and a woman stepped out.

“Xiao Hui, what’s going on with you all? We heard Jingyue crying all last night, and we knocked, but no one answered. Did you mistreat her?” The speaker was Sister Zhang, Liu Hui’s former neighbor who used to look after him often.

“Sister Zhang, do you happen to know where Jingyue went?” Liu Hui urgently asked.

“Not precisely. We heard her crying in the middle of the night until dawn, and then it went quiet. Don’t you know where she is?” Sister Zhang asked with concern.

“Thank you, Sister Zhang, I’ll go look for her right away.” Failing to get useful information, Liu Hui immediately left the complex. He drove his car to Liang Bo’s villa, rang the doorbell, but received no response from inside.

Liu Hui surveyed the exterior, then scaled the wall to enter Liang Bo’s property. He found the villa completely empty. Everything inside was orderly, giving the impression that the owners had merely stepped out to run errands.

A sudden possibility struck Liu Hui, draining the color from his face. He quickly retrieved his phone and checked the account balance remotely, only to find the funds untouched. While the money in the bank was safe, his anxiety only deepened.

Suddenly, Liu Hui’s phone rang. He snatched it up and instinctively asked, “Is that Jingyue?”

The person on the other end paused before replying, “Boss Liu, it’s Guo Jia. I’m calling to remind you that the press conference is about to start; why aren’t you here yet?”

“I will be there on time.” Liu Hui was deeply disappointed. He searched the villa again, even examining Liang Jingyue’s room meticulously. All her belongings were still there, showing no sign of being packed. Furthermore, Liang Bo’s and Liang Jingyue’s cars were still in the garage. It didn't look like they had left town, so where had Liang Bo, Liang Jingyue, and their family gone?

Seeing that time was running short, Liu Hui finally drove toward the press conference location. The conference was being held in the conference room of Han Tang Hospital. Guo Jia was running back and forth, already acting as if he owned the place. The moment Liu Hui saw Guo Jia, he ushered him into a small room.

“Young Master Guo, what did you do to Liang Jingyue and her family? Why can’t I reach any of them?”

“Didn’t Liang Jingyue leave last night? Didn’t you go look for her?” Guo Jia asked, puzzled.

“If I had found her, I wouldn't be asking you! Where exactly have you hidden them?”

“I truly don't know what you are talking about. If I had done anything, I wouldn't keep it from you, especially at this critical juncture. How could I do something that would destroy our cooperation?” Guo Jia was genuinely confused by Liu Hui’s accusations.

“Liang Jingyue’s family has vanished. I need you to immediately instruct your subordinates to help me find the whereabouts of Liang Jingyue and her family,” Liu Hui said, sinking into a chair dejectedly.

“You mean they suddenly disappeared?” Guo Jia was equally startled.

“Yes. Since this morning, they are completely unreachable, and no one is at their residence.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll arrange people to investigate this immediately. By the way, here is the material for your relocation to Hong Kong; the procedures are all complete. And these are the original case files regarding the events I mentioned yesterday; please keep them safe.” Guo Jia handed over several documents to Liu Hui.

Liu Hui accepted the materials, then handed a sheet of paper to Guo Jia. “This is the list of personnel requiring relocation. I hope to have the finalized paperwork by this time tomorrow.”

“If there are no unforeseen issues, I can deliver those documents to you before noon tomorrow.”

Soon, it was time for the press conference. Liu Hui and Guo Jia took their seats on the main stage. Liu Hui glanced around and asked curiously, “Why don’t I see Secretary Wei?”

Guo Jia chuckled. “Secretary Wei can’t make it; something happened to him a couple of days ago.”

“What happened to Secretary Wei?” Liu Hui asked.

“This information is technically confidential, but since you and Secretary Wei are acquainted, I’ll make an exception for you. His daughter has been missing for a long time without any leads. He finally sought the assistance of national resources for the search. Once national power mobilized, they discovered his daughter had joined an assassin organization while she was in the United States and had become a renowned killer. Since his daughter is an assassin, Secretary Wei, as her father, must undergo investigation. That’s why he naturally couldn't attend,” Guo Jia explained. Liu Hui merely uttered an ‘oh’ and said nothing more as the press conference officially began.

The host delivered a brief, formulaic opening before moving straight to the main agenda: “We now begin the press conference regarding the acquisition of Han Tang Hospital by First Hospital of Kyoto. We invite Mr. Guo Jia, representing First Hospital of Kyoto, and Mr. Liu Hui, representing Han Tang Hospital.”

Liu Hui and Guo Jia took their places at the designated area on the stage. Several agreements and pens lay before each of them. Liu Hui quickly scanned the agreement; it was identical to the one from the previous night. He raised his hand and signed his name, then exchanged documents with Guo Jia before signing again. Finally, the two men stood and shook hands as the assembled reporters flashed their cameras relentlessly.

Guo Jia presented Liu Hui with a large check for one hundred million yuan. The two held the check up together as the reporters’ flashes exploded once more.
