“Boss Liu, long time no see,” Jiang Nanyi greeted Liu Hui.

“It’s Group Leader Jiang, it has indeed been a while,” Liu Hui hadn't quite processed the situation yet.

“Jiang Nanyi, what are you doing here? This area is no longer under your jurisdiction,” Guo Jia said calmly, seeing Jiang Nanyi burst through the door without showing any anger.

“What I’m doing here, you should know very well in your heart. I know you brought Elder Wu, so Elder Ding from our Special Operations Group came with me,” Jiang Nanyi stated coldly.

“It seems this has nothing to do with you, does it? I was just having a talk with Boss Liu; why must you involve yourselves in this messy affair?” Guo Jia sighed.

“I also have something to discuss with Boss Liu. Just now outside, I seemed to overhear Young Master Guo mentioning the siege of the Hantang Hospital on New Year's Day. Coincidentally, I’ve also obtained some relevant intelligence. The Hantang Hospital once treated us like half-staff; I feel it's quite necessary to brief Boss Liu on this information,” Jiang Nanyi explained.

“Oh? You’ve dug up some intelligence too? Perhaps you could share it with us and broaden our horizons,” Guo Jia chuckled.

“Since Young Master Guo is also present, I shall explain this matter thoroughly,” Jiang Nanyi said.

At this moment, Wen Sheng, who had been thrown to the ground, regained some composure and said to Guo Jia, “Young Master Guo, the Special Operations Group has mobilized troops from the military region. They deployed armored vehicles, and there are armed helicopters overhead.”

Everyone listened intently, and the faint roar of rotating propellers could be vaguely heard in the air. Guo Jia laughed, “The Special Operations Group has certainly invested heavily this time, even bringing out their ultimate backer. However, you don’t grasp the larger situation, and you are ultimately bound to fail. After all, going against the current demands a price.”

“The outcome is not yet decided; who will pay the price remains to be seen!” Elder Ding behind Jiang Nanyi stated solemnly, while Guo Jia and Elder Wu behind him merely sneered.

Jiang Nanyi, unaffected by Guo Jia, turned to Liu Hui and said, “Boss Liu, after the New Year’s Day attack, our Special Operations Group found it incredibly strange. We conducted a thorough investigation later and uncovered something rather interesting.”

“Group Leader Jiang, please tell us what is so interesting,” Liu Hui replied courteously.

“That night, as soon as we retreated, someone attacked the hospital. On the surface, it looked like a leadership inspection from the Special Operations Group headquarters, leading to the tragedy caused by our absence from our posts. However, there was a deeper scheme at play,” Jiang Nanyi remarked.

“A deeper scheme?” Liu Hui asked curiously.

“When we returned, we contacted that leader, who was also utterly baffled. He had been summoned to Bashan by a mysterious phone call, just as the forces we stationed at Hantang Hospital had received a mysterious call telling them the leader was coming for an inspection and they needed to report to him immediately. That leader assumed we sought him out for a briefing, and we assumed the leader demanded our presence for a briefing, so neither of us noticed anything amiss at the time. For some reason, the leader didn't receive a report about the hospital attack the next morning and subsequently left Bashan. Consequently, everyone assumed there was an issue within the Special Operations Group that led to the siege of Hantang Hospital on New Year’s Day, and the Special Operations Group took a massive unwarranted blow to its reputation,” Jiang Nanyi explained.

“Then, Group Leader Jiang, did you later discover who made that mysterious call?” Liu Hui inquired.

“We haven't found out who made the mysterious call, but whoever is hidden behind this operation is the important one; the caller is insignificant. I felt I had disgraced the Special Operations Group, so upon returning, I immediately launched a detailed investigation into this bizarre incident, and accidentally uncovered a secret,” Jiang Nanyi began to smile.

“Just state the secret directly, don't build up the suspense,” Guo Jia interjected.

“Those Japanese were tricked into attacking Hantang Hospital. That person duped them, claiming the hospital would be undefended that night, and if they attacked, they could obtain the hospital’s latest technology, which could then be used to manufacture an AIDS drug,” Jiang Nanyi revealed.

“So, who misled those Japanese into attacking us?” Liu Hui asked.

“It was that Japanese man named Sakai. Of course, according to what Young Master Guo says now, he is an outstanding Chinese intelligence operative embedded in Japan,” Jiang Nanyi mocked.

“Why would Sakai trick them into attacking our hospital?” Liu Hui asked.

“In an extremely chance encounter, we obtained a videotape. The tape was dated half a month before New Year’s Day. In the recording, Young Master Guo is seen discussing matters with Sakai. The video has no audio, but after analysis by our lip-reading experts, they were discussing how to trick the Japanese into attacking Hantang Hospital,” Jiang Nanyi suddenly looked pointedly at Guo Jia.

“Heh heh, Group Leader Jiang, just say what you need to say; I am impervious to it,” Guo Jia stated magnanimously.

“On that tape, Young Master Guo instructed Sakai to fool the Japanese into attacking Hantang Hospital to seize the hospital’s latest technology in one go. Guo himself deployed a large contingent of personnel around the hospital's perimeter, planning to ambush and seize the technology from the Japanese after they succeeded—a classic double-cross. However, Guo miscalculated one thing: he didn't anticipate that the security at Hantang Hospital was so formidable that they routed the Japanese, nearly wiping them out entirely. We later never found any trace of those fleeing Japanese; I imagine they were silenced by the people waiting on the periphery for the double-cross opportunity!” Jiang Nanyi said calmly.

“Aside from a few details, your account is largely accurate,” Guo Jia surprisingly did not deny it.

“Heh heh, quite the calculated scheme. Incite the Japanese to rob the hospital, and then rob the Japanese, obtaining the hospital's latest technology indirectly while avoiding any personal risk,” Liu Hui sneered coldly.

“Heh heh, but in the end, it failed! Boss Liu is far more capable, nurturing so many experts for the hospital without anyone noticing,” Guo Jia admitted frankly.

“You instigated the Japanese siege, and Boss Liu’s men acted in legitimate self-defense. They violated no national law and will naturally bear no responsibility, as those Japanese deserved their fate, including that Sakai. Since you’ve admitted it, you need to come with us and assist our Special Operations Group with some inquiries,” Jiang Nanyi advanced toward Guo Jia. Elder Ding shifted slightly to block Elder Wu, but Elder Wu showed no reaction.

“Alas! Why do some people never see the bigger picture? Truly troublesome,” Guo Jia sighed, pulling out his phone and dialing a number.

“Hello, is that Elder Wang? This is Guo Jia. You haven't relayed the latest decision downstairs, have you? Please immediately instruct Group Leader Jiang of Special Operations Group Nine underneath you to withdraw at once; he is standing right next to me,” Guo Jia said, then hung up the phone.

The moment Jiang Nanyi heard Guo Jia mention Elder Wang, his expression changed. Indeed, shortly after Guo Jia finished his call, Jiang Nanyi’s phone rang. He answered, spoke a few tense sentences, hung up, and stared fixedly at Guo Jia.

“Don't glare at me with your death rays; it won't work on me,” Guo Jia laughed.

“It seems you will stop at nothing to get this hospital. The higher-ups reached a conclusion tonight, and you moved immediately, catching me completely off guard. We concede tonight, but there will be a time when we meet again. I hope then you will still represent the will from above,” Jiang Nanyi said coldly, then cast an apologetic glance toward Liu Hui.

“Group Leader Jiang, I will remember everything that happened tonight,” Liu Hui replied with a smile directed at Jiang Nanyi.

“Boss Liu, is there anything I can do to help?” Jiang Nanyi wished to offer some amends.

“If possible, take all the security personnel out of the hospital,” Liu Hui requested.

Jiang Nanyi glanced at Liu Hui, then left with Elder Ding.

“It seems Guo Gongzi’s accusation about the Hantang Hospital harming people isn't much of an issue then?” Liu Hui said to Guo Jia.

“If I were to insist that Boss Liu was also involved in the murder of state intelligence agents, even if Boss Liu could defend himself, it would still take a considerable amount of time before he’s cleared!”

“Arresting people arbitrarily—that’s always been your tradition. I have no recourse against that!” Liu Hui conceded.

“No, we have evidence,” Guo Jia suddenly smiled, then made another call. Soon, the basement door was opened again from the outside, and a man timidly shuffled in.

“See? This is our evidence. He is Yang Fuguo, one of your hospital’s security guards. He witnessed firsthand how you brutally murdered our outstanding intelligence agents. So, he voluntarily came to us and reported you,” Guo Jia chuckled.

“Yang Fuguo, you traitor!” Zhou Tengyun suddenly roared, lunging forward and slamming a palm into Yang Fuguo, sending him flying to crash heavily against the wall. Yang Fuguo’s body instantly crumpled into a smear of flesh, sticking to the wall before slowly sliding down.

“Brilliant, too bad there was no camera to record it as a souvenir.” Guo Jia applauded the gruesome scene, while Elder Wu behind him didn't even flinch.

“However, can you kill all the traitors?” Guo Jia’s tone shifted.

“What do you mean by that?” Liu Hui felt a dark premonition.

Guo Jia made another call, then said, “If you can kill this person, I will leave immediately.”

As Guo Jia finished speaking, the door opened again, and a figure slowly walked in.

“How is this possible…”

When Liu Hui clearly saw who had entered, he felt his entire body violently shake. A rush of blood surged to his throat, nearly overwhelming his internal injuries.
