This ocean in the South was boundless, often beset by storms of earth-shattering power. Coastal fishermen dared not venture deep; any distance from the shore usually ended in shipwreck and death. Even ordinary cultivators dared not venture far within.
Thus, it earned the moniker, the Sea of No Return.
For a Foundation Establishment cultivator like Feng Zikang, the harsh climate of the Sea of No Return posed no threat to his life, but the multitude of demonic creatures within made it no easy place.
After consideration, they decided to proceed discreetly, muffling the light of their Cloud Chariot, focusing solely on speed and stirring up as little trouble as possible.
Moli’er's father was Zhan Bu, the White Eagle King, one of the Five Great Demon Kings.
His cultivation had already reached the late stage of Core Condensation, his power formidable, commanding respect in his domain. He had been injured in the East Sea and, through a karmic entanglement with Ghost King Tu, fathered this daughter, Moli’er.
Along the way, Feng Zikang meticulously inquired about the White Eagle King's habits and cultivation, but Ghost King Tu herself only had a vague understanding and could not explain things clearly.
Years ago, after the White Eagle King returned to the Sea of No Return and became one of the Five Great Demon Kings, he had sought out Ghost King Tu, wishing to bring her and their daughter to reside in the Sea of No Return. However, Ghost King Tu was inherently stubborn, and secondly, she was preoccupied with calculating the benefits of the Profound Realm at the time, so she refused the earnest great demon.
They had not spent much time together in total, and Ghost King Tu could not answer many of Feng Zikang's detailed questions.
Feng Zikang smiled faintly, which caused Ghost King Tu to blush deeply. She always regarded this matter as a profound humiliation and was reluctant to bring it up, only revealing everything now out of necessity.
Today, as they entered the Sea of No Return, Heaven seemed to grant them favor: the weather was mild and beautiful, with not a shadow of a storm in sight. Yet, everyone remained cautious; the weather in the Sea of No Return was notoriously fickle and could shift in an instant.
Indeed, shortly after noon, a dark patch appeared on the horizon.
Ghost King Tu had been to the Sea of No Return several times and knew the danger. She quickly warned, "My Lord, a storm is likely approaching. We should not fly too high, lest we lose our bearings, and these two Heavenly Horses cannot endure the strain. It is better to descend closer to the sea surface; even with the waves, we will be safer."
The two Heavenly Horses whinnied softly; they rarely traveled over the sea and were genuinely frightened of the coming storm.
Feng Zikang nodded. The Cloud Chariot descended to a spot not far above the water surface. Before long, the winds and waves rose fiercely, the sky turned pitch black, and rain began to pour down instantly.
Lightning flashed and thunder boomed, wind and rain lashed together, and the waves at sea were high enough to strike the Cloud Chariot. The Heavenly Horses trembled in fear, swaying precariously in the gale, unable to keep the chariot steady.
Feng Zikang, however, remained perfectly composed. Amidst the terrifying, surging waves, he cultivated calmly, his expression unchanged.
Ghost King Tu watched, secretly admiring him. This youth was truly a peerless genius she had never seen before; his cunning and methods were remarkable, and he could still focus on cultivation. His future was limitless.
"I wonder what realm this youth will reach in a few years..."
Ghost King Tu marveled inwardly, yet felt a chill run down her spine.
After about two hours, the storm gradually subsided, the dark clouds dispersed, and the sun reappeared.
Seeing the two Heavenly Horses shaking with terror and exhaustion, Feng Zikang smiled faintly, retracted the Cloud Chariot, and let them return to the Rouge Box to rest. He took to the air himself on his sword light.
"What outsider? How dare you trespass into the Sea of No Return?"
Suddenly, a roaring shout came from the front-left. Several streaks of bird-like light shot across at an angle, intercepting them directly in front.
Leading them was a demon with a horn on its head, possessing a villainous appearance, clutching a long spear, and menacingly questioning Feng Zikang, "Who are you? Do you not know this is the territory of our Demon Race?"
Feng Zikang had come here intending to keep a low profile and naturally did not wish to clash with this demon. Ghost King Tu knew his intent and quickly stepped forward, bowing slightly to the demon. "Esteemed Elder Brother, I am actually returning to the Sea of No Return to visit my husband. This young master is kindly escorting me; please do not take offense..."
She was originally a ghost entity, and now she had refined herself into a ghost-child; to call her a demon was not entirely inaccurate.
The demon’s demeanor softened slightly upon seeing her beauty, and upon noticing Moli’er standing behind Feng Zikang, he became utterly captivated.
"Oh my, what a pretty little girl..."
The demon almost drooled, stepping forward to touch Moli’er's face.
Ghost King Tu’s expression shifted, and she blocked him.
"Esteemed Elder Brother, this is my daughter. I beg you to show some face and allow us to pass..."
"Nonsense!"
The demon was enraged when his hand was blocked, swinging his long spear to push Ghost King Tu aside.
"What are you? On what basis should the Great King One-Horn show you respect? I tell you, trespassing into the Sea of No Return is a capital offense now. If you are wise, you two—mother and daughter—play with this old master, and I shall let you go!"
The One-Horned Great King was crude and vicious, openly declaring his lust. Those behind him cheered in unison, and he laughed heartily, "Of course, my brothers can have some fun too!"
"You court death!"
Ghost King Tu roared in anger, sending out a bolt of dark light. The One-Horned Great King laughed loudly, lightly parrying it with his long spear.
"Want a fight? Little missy has quite some spirit; I like that!"
He swung his long spear to push Ghost King Tu back, shouting loudly, "Brothers, these fellows resist capture! Take them down! We’ll keep the man for dinner tonight, and tie up the women!"
The other demons shouted in agreement and surrounded them.
Ghost King Tu hadn't expected such trouble immediately upon entering the Sea of No Return. She glanced back, seeking instruction from Feng Zikang, who nodded slightly.
Ghost King Tu felt instantly reassured. With a fierce shout, she summoned the Styx River, tossing the surrounding demons away. "You One-Horned blockhead! I was polite to you, but you don't know what's good for you. If I don't teach you a lesson today, you won't know my capabilities!"
The One-Horned Great King was also at the Foundation Establishment level, but in Feng Zikang's eyes, his foundation was shallow, his body filled with impurities, and his divine abilities mediocre. He was far inferior not only to Feng Zikang but also to the long-cultivated Ghost King Tu. Even though Ghost King Tu had only recovered seven or eight-tenths of her combat power after her injuries, she was more than capable of handling the One-Horned Great King.
Feng Zikang was not worried in the slightest and merely watched the show leisurely.
The One-Horned Great King staggered after being swept by the Styx River, thoroughly enraged. He shouted a command, and his subordinate demons rushed forward, surrounding Ghost King Tu and attacking her fiercely.
However, the Styx River was inexhaustible, and being at sea, it could reform even if momentarily dispersed. It swept the dozen or so demons inside. Although it couldn't instantly kill them, it battered them until they were covered in grime and utterly miserable.
The One-Horned Great King was furious. He frantically waved his long spear, struggling out of the Styx River. He chanted an incantation, activating the spear in his hand, which transformed into a silver serpent, opening its sharp jaws to bite Ghost King Tu.
The silver serpent was agile; even the entanglement of the two Styx Rivers could not fully impede its thrust. Ghost King Tu was caught off guard and almost completely encircled by the serpent. She quickly shifted her body and managed to evade the strike. Fury surged within her; the two Styx Rivers coiled, transforming into a vortex that sucked the One-Horned Great King in. After shaking him dozens of feet, she flung him out.
"Splash!"
The One-Horned Great King was thrown into the sea, dizzy and battered. It took him a long time to crawl out, spitting up seawater he had swallowed, retching violently.
"If you don't scatter now, don't blame me for showing no mercy!"
Ghost King Tu had reached the limit of her patience with their harassment. Having received Feng Zikang's tacit approval, she was prepared to kill them all. Since they initiated the provocation, it would be easier to explain even if discovered.
The One-Horned Great King knew he was no match for this woman and was about to flee when he suddenly saw another mass of colored clouds flying overhead. Overjoyed, he immediately shouted for help.
"Patrolman Mou! There are outsiders causing trouble here, quickly come and rescue me!"
Feng Zikang’s brow twitched slightly. He watched the mass of colored clouds rapidly approach and arrive in an instant—a young demon dressed in five-colored robes, his expression stern, blocking in front of everyone.
The One-Horned Great King scurried forward, presenting his report breathlessly. "Reporting to Patrolman Mou, I am One-Horn of the Thirteenth Watch of the West Sea of the Sea of No Return. Today, I saw outsiders sneaking into the Sea of No Return under the cover of the storm. I was just about to apprehend them for questioning when these people suddenly attacked and injured several of my brothers. Their magic is powerful; I am no match for them! I beg Patrolman Mou to apprehend and question them!"
"Oh?"
The young demon called Patrolman Mou raised his head and scrutinized Feng Zikang up and down. At this moment, Feng Zikang was also quietly observing him. Their eyes met.
Core Condensation!
Feng Zikang recognized the opponent's realm at a glance—he had actually reached the Core Condensation stage. The muscles on his back immediately tensed, and his entire body pulsed with dangerous warning signals.
He hadn't expected to encounter a Core Condensation expert among the Demon Race so quickly. The power of the Demon Race within the Sea of No Return was truly overwhelming; Feng Zikang dared not underestimate them and became even more cautious.
"You... where are you from?"
The demon suddenly spoke, his voice strange and distorted, and a bizarre light flickered in his eyes.
Feng Zikang nodded slightly. Ghost King Tu understood and stepped forward again.
"Reporting to Esteemed Patrolman, this humble one is from the East Sea. Because my husband resides in the Sea of No Return, I brought my daughter to join him. Unexpectedly, this one," she pointed at the One-Horned Great King, "desired to insult my daughter and me because of our beauty. I was forced to resist. I hope Your Honor will investigate clearly!"
"Oh?"
Patrolman Mou’s tone held no surprise. He merely glanced coldly at the One-Horned Great King but said nothing, continuing his questioning.
"You say you've come to visit your husband; who is your husband?"
"Who else could he be... definitely some minor demon that can’t be traced," the One-Horned Great King, humiliated by her accusation, snarled spitefully. "Patrolman Mou, this person must be a spy! Don't treat them..."
Patrolman Mou glanced at him again, which chilled the One-Horned Great King to the bone, stopping him from speaking further. He could only glare furiously at Ghost King Tu, grinding his teeth.
Ghost King Tu looked back at Feng Zikang, seeing his slight nod. Knowing his intention, she stepped forward, a look of proud spirit on her face.
"Speaking of my child's father, he is..."
She deliberately glanced at the One-Horned Great King and gave a mocking, cold smile.
