Crack!
A serpent's tail, as thick as a man's waist, lashed out like lightning toward the two Indians wielding massive scimitars. The two Indian martial artists instantly leaped five or six meters high with a whoosh, grabbing onto the railing of a nearby residential building. The serpent’s tail, however, slammed violently into a massive tree nearby, its trunk fracturing with a snap five or six meters up, causing it to crash down with a rumble.
“Hahahaha, trying to kill me?” Luo Feng, holding a shield, sprinted forward at that moment.
Both heads of the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent frantically pursued Luo Feng!
Swish! Swish!
He waved his hand, launching two throwing knives. Though it appeared Luo Feng was throwing them by hand, the instant the blades left his grasp, they were completely controlled by mental energy, accelerating the knives to astonishing speeds. The eye could only blurrily perceive two streaks of cold light shadowing the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent!
“Hiss-hiss~~” The serpent roared and evaded.
“Change!” Luo Feng’s gaze sharpened.
Both throwing knives slightly altered their trajectory—neither change was significant. Since the knives were far faster than sniper rifle bullets, no one else could detect the shift in direction.
Thwack! Sizzle!
One of the two throwing knives grazed the left serpent head as it passed, but the other struck the left head dead center. Since the battle began, Luo Feng had deployed six knives, and every single one had targeted the left head. By now, the left head was covered in blood, its wounds terrifyingly severe.
“Whoosh!” Luo Feng moved like a swallow, his running speed frighteningly high.
“GD!”
The leader of the Indians, holding an alloy staff, shouted excitedly. Taking advantage of the serpent chasing Luo Feng, he hammered down like striking a drowning dog, his staff thrusting faster and faster toward the serpent’s right head. The serpent dared not meet the alloy staff head-on and could only struggle to dodge.
One had to know that although the staff seemed to lack sheer piercing power compared to the sharp tip of a spear, when thrust, the force concentrated on the tip. With a small impact area, that tiny cross-section generated the effect of a blunt weapon!
“Indians, put some effort in!” Gao Feng yelled.
The other two Indian martial artists, armed with massive scimitars and shields, attacked the serpent’s body at close range alongside Gao Feng. This served two purposes: first, to prevent the serpent from using its tail to attack Luo Feng and the Indian leader, and second, they aimed for the snake’s vital spot—the qicun (seven inches)!
A serpent’s vital area is its qicun, though this is often figurative; the true weak point is the heart in the abdomen. Despite its confidence in its defense, the great serpent dared not allow Gao Feng and the other two to attack its vitals. Thus, its tail lashed and coiled intermittently, trying every means necessary to deal with the trio.
Swish!
Luo Feng’s left-arm shield was guided by mental energy. He propelled himself forward with a burst of power, rocketing toward Captain Gao Feng. As he neared, Luo Feng whispered urgently, “Captain, when you engage up close, use the throwing hammer and smash it toward the serpent’s left head!”
“Heh heh, understood.” Gao Feng immediately grasped Luo Feng’s intent.
Luo Feng's movements on the battlefield were erratic and elusive; he never engaged the great serpent closely, instead darting around the periphery with astonishing speed.
“Agh!” The Indian leader suddenly roared, his face flushing crimson as the blood surged through his body to its absolute limit. For a moment, he resembled a Buddhist Arhat from legend. The speed of his staff suddenly skyrocketed, and he charged toward the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent as if reckless of his own life. The speed of his staff reached an instantaneous peak, unleashing dozens of staff shadows in the blink of an eye!
Bang! Bang!
Two of those dozens of strikes slammed hard into the right serpent head. The massive right head wobbled, seemingly dazed, and then crashed heavily onto the ground below.
“Sss-wooo~” The serpent’s left head immediately let out a terrifying roar. Its huge, soft, and elongated body suddenly coiled and sprang up, swimming rapidly as it attempted to flee.
“Quick!” shouted the Indian leader, the bald, sturdy man urgently.
Swish!
Gao Feng, who was extremely close to the serpent, roared, “Die!” He swung the heavy hammer with all his might. The hammer flew like a cannonball straight toward the serpent’s left head. The left head dodged, but Luo Feng, watching from nearby, his eyes flashing, channeled all his mental energy into the hammer, instantly accelerating it!
Thud!
The serpent managed to avoid a direct hit, but the hammer still slammed into its neck area!
With Gao Feng’s peak strength augmented by Luo Feng’s mental energy assistance, the impact of that blow was immense. The serpent’s left head grew dizzy and slumped to the ground. However, just as it began to regain consciousness and tried to lift its head—
Luo Feng smiled faintly!
Thwack! A black throwing knife instantly burst from the ground, shooting directly into the skull through the gash on the left serpent head’s face!
The left head never lifted again.
Thwip! The bald, sturdy Indian leader’s alloy staff flashed like lightning, directly piercing and exploding the eyeball of the right head, penetrating clean through the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent’s skull! With both heads destroyed, the massive body convulsed and twisted unconsciously until it finally lay still.
“Hahahaha!” The Indian leader burst into laughter.
“Beautiful work,” Gao Feng said happily, retrieving his heavy hammer, while Luo Feng smiled and walked to collect his various throwing knives.
From start to finish, the Indians likely never noticed that he controlled weapons with mental energy. Especially the final blow: the serpent’s head had already hit the ground before Luo Feng controlled the knife to erupt from the soil and pierce straight into its braincase.
“Friend,” the bald, sturdy man said, smiling as he greeted Luo Feng and Gao Feng. “GD!”
“You didn’t hold back either,” Luo Feng replied with a smile. He could tell that the bald man had used a desperate, life-risking move in the end; even now, the man’s face remained red, his veins still visibly bulging.
“Half for you, half for us!” the bald man stated.
Luo Feng pointed to the left serpent head and smiled faintly, “The scales are half as well.”
Both sides sensed the other’s strength. Moreover, both Luo Feng’s squad and the Indian squad likely had firearms experts aiming from the shadows, and both groups were immensely strong. Thus, the atmosphere between them was amicable. Luo Feng and Gao Feng began to dissect the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent’s left head.
The Indians dissected the right head.
“Luo Feng, that strike was vicious,” Gao Feng murmured quietly.
Luo Feng smiled, retrieving the black throwing knife from the already dissected serpent head—it was this single blow that had killed the left head.
Suddenly—
“Hmm?”
Luo Feng and Gao Feng rapidly turned to look. The three Indians also changed expression and looked over.
Nine human martial artists, all of East Asian descent, were approaching in the distance. The moment these nine newcomers saw the massive serpent corpse on the ground, they instantly calculated its value: over a billion. Greed flickered in many of their eyes.
“Please leave!” the bald Indian leader spoke in broken Mandarin.
“I didn’t expect to run into the Tiger Tooth Squad here. You guys really haunt us,” Gao Feng said, scanning the group before him.
Luo Feng remained silent, observing. Among the nine arrivals, besides the six from the Tiger Tooth Squad, there was an elder, a tall, sturdy Caucasian man, and a young man of mixed race.
“Hahahaha, Gao Feng, you actually allied with the Indians? Tsk, tsk… but killing this Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent is truly rare for you,” the leader of the Tiger Tooth Squad sneered. “Be smart and clear out quickly. If you do, our Thunder Squad might spare your lives, otherwise… tsk, tsk, don’t blame us. Oh, this Senior Liu is the captain of our Thunder Squad. And this Mr. Kalong is our vice-captain.”
Senior Liu was the elder, and Kalong was the Caucasian man.
Luo Feng’s gaze chilled.
“This is my first time in City 003. This prey belongs to me. You can leave now,” said the mixed-race youth with a smile.
The elder and the Caucasian man stood on either side of the youth, scanning Luo Feng’s group.
“Whoever dares to steal my prey… dies!” the bald Indian leader growled darkly. The two Indians wielding massive scimitars beside him radiated killing intent. How hard was it to kill a Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent? First, it was rare to encounter such a valuable mutated monster, and second, the fight had been grueling.
Gao Feng also held his heavy hammer, his eyes glinting fiercely.
“If you want it, come and take it,” Luo Feng said with a cold smile, planting his foot on the serpent’s head as he faced the group. “We killed the Two-Headed Black-Striped Serpent; as for your bunch… oh right, my brother’s sniper rifle is currently aimed at you!”
“Our sniper rifles are aimed at you too!” one of the Indians holding a scimitar stated coldly.
Luo Feng, Gao Feng, and the three Indians stood beside the carcass, looking impassively at the nine newcomers.
“Sniper rifles?”
Many among the nine couldn’t help but look up towards the surrounding residential buildings, but they couldn't see a single shadow in the ruined structures. Yet, it was precisely this invisibility that frightened them more. The Tiger Tooth Squad knew well that the Fire Hammer Squad had a sniper named Chen Gu. And how could the Indian squad not bring an expert in hot weapons?
