Seeing Number Two poisoned, I immediately stepped forward and asked, "How is it? Are you alright?" Number Two's face looked terrible, but he managed a nod and said, "I'm fine; poison of this level can't take me down..." But as soon as the words left his mouth, his face twisted into a grimace.
Clutching his hand, his body began to shake uncontrollably, covered in sweat, looking as if he couldn't hold on much longer. Seeing he could barely stand steady, I rushed to support him, saying, "And you call that fine!
You need to rest immediately! I think we should retreat for now." Number Two shook his head, glaring fiercely at the Six-Armed Bodhisattva ahead, gritting his teeth as he said, "I'm fine.
There isn't time to retreat now, and this monster up ahead won't let us go either!" Saying that, he pushed my hand away and staggered forward, declaring, "You grotesque monstrosity, you truly insult the title of Bodhisattva. Since you are bent on evil, I won't spare you today!
Die!" With that, he pressed his palms together, and a faint golden light emanated from his body, his expression utterly solemn, leaving us all stunned. Then, as if defying the laws of nature, Number Two's body began to slowly levitate.
A small spot of golden light on his brow slowly expanded and brightened. Perhaps due to the surging power, Number Two's robes billowed violently in the wind, making him resemble an immortal about to ascend.
The shockwave he generated blasted rings of dirt outward, and those of us standing nearby felt an irresistible pressure. Clearly, the Six-Armed Bodhisattva not far from us also sensed this aura of danger.
Its six arms, which had been waving about triumphantly in the air, instantly froze their movements; its entire body seemed suddenly encased in ice, unable to budge. We then watched the Six-Armed Bodhisattva retreat steadily, attempting to distance itself from us.
Just then, Number Two's eyes slowly opened, and an incredible golden light shot from both pupils. "Ama-mimi-mi!" he chanted under his breath.
The golden spot on his brow slowly transformed into a swastika symbol, while the golden light in the center of his palms burned brighter than before, even dimming the sunlight overhead. Seeing this move was extraordinary, we all hastily retreated.
At this point, the Six-Armed Bodhisattva let out a series of squeaking noises, sounding perhaps fearful, or maybe chanting an incantation of its own. We then realized the creature seemed to be abandoning its escape.
Its belly began to swell slowly, the distension even more pronounced than the last time—it looked ready to unleash a full-power strike against Number Two. How could we let it succeed?
We rushed forward to interrupt the Six-Armed Bodhisattva’s maneuver. However, the black, serpentine creatures coiled on the ground immediately became active as we approached, raising their heads to hiss weirdly at us, trying to block our way.
We knew how dangerous those snakes were, so we dared not approach rashly for the moment. I noticed that although these things looked like snakes, they possessed only mouths and fangs, lacking any eyes or nostrils.
Their bodies were incredibly smooth, devoid of scales; they were less like snakes and more like parasitic organisms residing within the Six-Armed Bodhisattva. For some inexplicable reason, seeing such things made me feel instantly nauseous.
"You don't need to stop it! No matter how much it struggles, it's useless.
You all step back quickly, lest I accidentally hurt you!" Number Two shouted to us then. Knowing the gravity of the situation, we followed his instructions and scattered to the sides.
By now, the Six-Armed Bodhisattva's belly had swelled to an unimaginable degree, looking ready to burst any second. At that moment, its strange limbs also began to change.
All four limbs bent backward completely, causing its entire body to form an arc. Then, each of its limbs started elongating slowly, growing extra joints like an elevator shaft.
These joints, resembling the supports beneath a cannon mount, gradually elevated the Six-Armed Bodhisattva's arched body. Combined with its swollen belly, the entire form truly looked like a cannon tube about to fire.
However, this bizarre cannon tube was not aimed at us, but toward the other side. Seeing its peculiar posture, we were utterly confused, yet we sensed that something momentous was about to happen.
Just as we were speculating how the Six-Armed Bodhisattva would aim its attack at us, a strange purple mist suddenly billowed up from beneath it. Number Twelve cursed, "Damn it, it's coming from the rear!" Hearing him say that, I immediately realized the Six-Armed Bodhisattva’s method of attack was, incredibly...
As the purple mist poured out from beneath it, carrying a peculiar odor—something reminiscent of gunpowder—I suspected that even a tiny spark nearby would cause the purple fumes to explode instantly. As if on cue, a sharp hiss sounded in our ears.
The purple smoke gushing from the Six-Armed Bodhisattva's lower half intensified, rapidly enveloping us until everything was obscured. Although the scent of the smoke wasn't particularly foul, we all felt uneasy.
Being caught in this mist meant facing terrifying danger at any second, so I said to Number Two, "Big Brother, you hold the line, we're pulling back." Number Two's voice was muffled through the haze: "You all go quickly; this move is powerful." Hearing his urgency, we couldn't linger. We bolted away from the area shrouded by the mist.
After running for about a minute, we cleared the mist's perimeter. Looking back, we saw the fog expanding like an all-encompassing darkness, blanketing an area roughly two hundred meters in radius.
Within this fog-covered zone, a single beam of golden light flickered incessantly. Initially barely visible, it steadily grew larger, eventually emerging distinctly from the purple haze based on our judgment.
I said to Number Twelve, "If the charging time takes this long, it must be a world-shattering move!" Just as I finished speaking, a spark flashed within the mist. Before we could react to what had happened, a colossal BOOM ripped through the air, and a massive column of flame shot skyward.
The resulting blast wave surged toward us like a tidal wave. Number Twelve and I both changed color and immediately threw ourselves to the ground.
The scorching air current rushed over our heads. Though it didn't strike us directly, the heat impact left our backs stinging painfully.
At that moment, Number Twelve and I shared the exact same thought: Protect our hairstyles! We clamped our hands over our heads, determined that even if the backs of our hands were burned raw, we would not let our hair burn off into bald patches!
Indeed, the wave of scorching air burned our hands, leaving a faint smell of charring. But neither of us dared to pull away, waiting until the blast wave passed before turning over, cradling our hands and wailing in pain.
After just a few cries, we simultaneously pulled out our phones to check if our hair was still there. Seeing that our hair remained black and lustrous, we finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Ignoring the smoke still rising behind us, we urgently turned to look at the site of the explosion. The sight that greeted us was shocking.
The explosion had blasted a massive crater into the ground. The pit was strewn with jagged rocks, everything scorched black.
Although Number Two was still standing in the crater and hadn't fallen, he looked as if he had just climbed out of a coal mine, entirely blackened. In his hand, he gripped the neck of the Six-Armed Bodhisattva.
Its six arms and two legs were gone, and the mask on its face had evidently blown off; only a round head and a round body remained. Most bizarrely, its previously distended belly was now shriveled, resembling a waterskin that had been completely emptied.
On its round head, although the mouth was still opening and closing as it breathed, it was incredibly weak—it looked like it wouldn't last much longer. Looking around, we suddenly remembered that we hadn't managed to pull Big Pillar out during the explosion, and we wondered if he had survived.
I vaguely recalled that when we ran out of the mist, Big Pillar had run in the opposite direction, carrying his father on his back. Looking now in the direction he fled, we saw no sign of anyone.
Even though Big Pillar and the others might be in danger, our immediate priority was to check on Number Two’s condition. As the two of us tentatively prepared to jump down into the crater to check on Number Two, the Six-Armed Bodhisattva suddenly let out strange squeaks from its mouth, its breathing becoming rapid and shallow.
Then we heard Number Two say quietly, "I know you are immortal, but destroying you is not difficult; all it takes is Karmic Fire." "You have taken the lives of so many people; you turned an entire village into ruins. Now it is time to pay the price!" With that, he tightened his grip, choking the Six-Armed Bodhisattva.
As the creature convulsed unnaturally, a ball of red light suddenly ignited in Number Two's hand, and then the entire body of the Six-Armed Bodhisattva burst into flames with a WHOOSH. Number Two tossed the creature aside dismissively, watching as it struggled, slowly turning to ash in the Karmic Fire.
When the Six-Armed Bodhisattva dissolved into a plume of blue smoke and vanished, Number Two turned and looked at us, a faint smile touching his lips. Seeing he was safe, we gave him a thumbs-up, but unexpectedly, Number Two suddenly collapsed onto the ground with a thud.
Seeing this, the two of us immediately jumped into the pit and helped Number Two up. Flipping open his eyelids, I saw that the poison had taken a deep hold.
His body was physically unharmed, but the toxicity had already spread to his nervous system. I sighed and said to Number Twelve, "This must be the unluckiest mission for Number Two since he started.
Getting injured repeatedly, and even dying once—he's truly cursed!"
