An Junlie stated with grave seriousness, "I will handle him. If he has ill intent, I'll toss him into the rose garden to feed the roses." Ziye looked at him skeptically, not believing for a second he could be so kind-hearted.
"Are you serious?" An Junlie drew her into an embrace, pledging solemnly, "I am one hundred percent serious." Tang Wan conceived of a rather excellent idea and ran upstairs, intending to discuss it with Ziye, but inadvertently caught sight of An Junlie and Ziye pressed close together. From her angle, it looked as if An Junlie was leaning down to kiss her.
She couldn't help but cry out, throwing a hand over her face. "Ah, I didn't see a thing!" Ziye turned, noting that though Tang Wan covered her face, her fingers left gaps larger than her eyes, through which she peered at them with undisguised curiosity, showing no trace of embarrassment.
Ziye, caught between amusement and exasperation, broke free from An Junlie’s hold and walked toward Tang Wan. "What is it?" Tang Wan frantically waved her hands.
"Nothing, nothing, please, continue." With that, she clattered down the stairs and fled. Ziye looked back at An Junlie, observing him standing with his hands clasped behind his back, watching her with infuriating leisure.
Anger flared in her heart again. "What are you looking at?" An Junlie smiled broadly.
"Good girl." Ziye let out an "Hmph," and stomped heavily toward her room. Only once she entered and shut the door did An Junlie bring his hands from behind his back, revealing her Comm-Unit.
He reconnected the call, adopting a sincere tone. "Hello, Yunlan?
Where are you? I'll send someone to meet you." Yunlan had entered Space Station Two.
Unable to reach Ziye on her Comm-Unit, he asked around casually, only to learn that the LingS University student apartments were not located on Station Two. He promptly turned and went back outside.
LingS had over a dozen space stations, and he had no idea which one housed the university. He decided to treat it as a tour, entering each one sequentially.
When his Comm-Unit finally reconnected, a man's voice answered unexpectedly, immediately putting him on high alert. "Who is this?" An Junlie replied, "I am Ziye's boyfriend, and also one of the shareholders of the Nine Sprout Group." Yunlan instantly let out a horrified wail.
"She already has a boyfriend? Heavens, another potential crush gone!" An Junlie coughed dryly.
"However, if you are genuinely serious about working for the Nine Sprout Group, tell me where you are, and I will come pick you up." Yunlan’s face fell. "Let me digest that first.
I came here to see a cute girl, and now I’m looking at a full-grown man. My capacity isn't up to it." An Junlie showed no mercy.
"Fine. We'll talk when your heart capacity has been restored." With that, he abruptly hung up the Comm-Unit and headed downstairs to gather his escort.
Since Xiao Hei, Xiao Bai, and Xiao Cheng and Xie Er had returned for a meeting, while Xiao Chi, Xiao Hong, and Xiao Lu were busy fabricating armor, including himself, he counted eight males. He simply brought along two more robots to make a party of ten, setting out in grand style.
Xiao Hei looked utterly bewildered as they left. "Where are we going?" It felt suspiciously like setting out for revenge.
An Junlie smiled. "Ziye just recruited a designer for the Nine Sprout Group.
We're going to see if this designer is actually up to standard." The seven present were all self-taught talents, and they shared a common trait: a love for causing a scene. Upon hearing An Junlie’s announcement, they pushed aside the precious Xiao Chi and stood tall, heading out to meet the newcomer.
Shortly after leaving, Yunlan called back, his expression one of profound mourning. "If there's no cute girl, fine, but since I'm already here, you at least have to treat me to a meal." An Junlie readily agreed.
"Sure. Which station are you on?" Yunlan looked up.
"Number five." An Junlie instructed, "Wait for me at the dock entrance. It should be around Entrance Eleven.
Look for the Wolf Den Group insignia on the shuttle." Their contingent switched their airship for a shuttle at the station and departed for Space Station Five. Yunlan reached the designated spot, and soon a shuttle settled smoothly at the checkpoint.
He checked the insignia, then cross-referenced it with the one he found online—it was indeed the Wolf Den. The hatch hissed open, and a dark-skinned young man emerged, dressed in a white shirt, black vest, black dress shoes, and white gloves, his face set in a look of stern composure.
Yunlan immediately felt something was off. Since when were butlers this dark?
And weren't butlers' hair usually slicked back impeccably? This person's hair looked like a bird's nest.
Just as he was about to step forward, the young man stopped at the threshold and remained silent. Before Yunlan could fully process his surprise, another young man stepped out, dressed identically.
He positioned himself directly opposite the first one, equally still and silent. Only then did Yunlan begin to grasp the situation.
That posture was clearly military. The Wolf Den soldiers were posing as butlers to greet him; that was quite the show of deference.
As he pondered this, the third, fourth, fifth, and sixth figures emerged. Yunlan, however, held back, choosing to wait and see what else would appear.
The next second, his eyeballs nearly popped out of his head. Robots?
Indeed. They were butler robots, the classic model from the Sprout Group, complete with the traditional black-and-white uniform.
Bizarre. Robots acting as hosts to welcome him?
Then, a second robot walked out. Yunlan decided to cease thinking and just observe how they planned to torment him.
However, the very instant he surrendered his mental processing, he saw an astonishing figure—An Junlie, Commander of the Angel Legion! Blast it.
An Junlie must have just accidentally taken a Wolf Den shuttle by chance! Yunlan was beyond speech.
"You must be Yunlan?" An Junlie asked, his smile warm and pleasant, as if he had never spoken ill of Yunlan in front of Ziye. He managed a perfect balance of respect and authority.
"I am An Junlie, Ziye’s boyfriend. She isn't feeling well today, and I didn't want her overexerting herself, so I came out to greet you in her stead." The six pseudo-butlers and two real butlers roared in unison, "Welcome, Mr.
Yunlan!" The sound was perfectly synchronized, a deep baritone male voice that suddenly resonated like hundreds of people speaking at once, deafening. Everyone near the space station turned to see what the commotion was about.
Yunlan felt an overwhelming urge to drop to his knees right there. No matter how powerful the Vajra Group was, it was merely a normal commercial entity.
How could it compare to a first-rate interstellar military legion? The Angel Domain was an existence utterly beyond the grasp of a mere corporation.
Thus, seeing An Junlie was akin to staring up at an insurmountable peak. Ziye’s boyfriend was overwhelmingly impressive.
If he had known her boyfriend was An Junlie, he wouldn't have dared utter that nonsense about losing a cute girl, even if his life depended on it. These soldiers were clearly not ordinary troops either; this was truly a grand display today.
On second thought, it made sense that An Junlie associated with the Wolf Den military—they were family. Realizing the Wolf Den and the Angel Domain were connected, Yunlan knew he had come to the right place.
The Nine Sprout Group belonged to the Wolf Den Legion, which was currently soaring to new heights. Though the Nine Sprout was just beginning, it was guaranteed not to fizzle out, especially with the Commander of the Angel Domain as a shareholder.
It was like having two massive mountains backing them—far more solid than the Vajra Group or others. Of course, he also trusted that with his own skill, even if he were the sole designer in the entire group, he could ensure the company thrived brilliantly.
"Greetings, Commander An. I only just learned today that you are Ziye’s boyfriend.
A pleasure, a true pleasure." An Junlie waved his hand dismissively and gestured, "Come, come, no rush. You've made quite the journey.
I've booked a table at the Regal Palace Hotel; we'll go celebrate your arrival." Yunlan was slightly taken aback. Such accessibility from a commanding officer?
It was highly unexpected. Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai, who had been disguised as butlers, immediately jumped up.
"Excellent! Let's go pick up Ziye and the others so we can all go together." An Junlie chuckled.
"They should already be on their way. We can just head over." Yunlan naturally agreed.
When they arrived at the Regal Palace Hotel, sure enough, Ziye, Ling Yin, and Tang Wan were already waiting. Upon seeing the cute girls, Yunlan charged forward without a second thought.
His eyes were sharp; he immediately identified Tang Wan as the prettiest and cutest among the three, rushing directly to her, eyes gleaming. "Hey there, cutie pie." Tang Wan glanced sideways at him and looked toward Ziye.
"Who is this?" Ziye shook her head. "Don't recognize him." As soon as Ziye spoke, Yunlan recognized her voice and immediately turned back.
"Little Sister Nine Sprout? I'm Azure Wolf, why don't you know me?" Ziye took a deliberate step to the side and stated formally, "I don't know any sleazy guys who hit on cute girls everywhere they go." Yunlan immediately wilted.
Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai rushed over, delivering a punch to him, one on each side. "Hey, kid, you dare hit on our cute girl?
Are you tired of living?" Both of them were trained fighters; the impact of one punch from each nearly made Yunlan gasp in pain. He quickly stammered, "I was just joking around." Unseen by Yunlan, An Junlie discreetly gave Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai a thumbs-up.
Ziye saw it clearly and shot An Junlie a look of disdain. An Junlie paid it no mind, walking to her side, offering her a small smile, and then entering the Regal Palace Hotel with the rest of the group.
Although An Junlie’s sudden departure to fetch Yunlan seemed abrupt, his status alone was enough to immediately subdue Yunlan. After the welcoming drinks, Yunlan decisively announced on the spot that he was leaving the Vajra Group to join the Nine Sprout Group.
The major shareholders present offered him a grand welcome. When Yunlan realized who the others were—the shareholders—his jaw dropped once more.
Major shareholders disguising themselves as butlers and then collectively greeting him? What an immense honor!
He regretted not recording the scene; it would undoubtedly become a historic meeting in the annals of the Nine Sprout Group. However, Xiao Hei and the others had merely been playing roles—security detail, butlers, waiters—finding it amusing, and hadn't considered the broader implications.
Once they reached the hotel, they all dropped their disguises. Yunlan was also a bit of a reckless spirit, quickly hitting it off with them due to their shared mischievous streak.
Compared to the men’s revelry, Tang Wan was clearly not impressed with Yunlan. During the meal, she quietly asked Ziye, "Is he really a mecha designer?
Isn't he some kind of scammer?" Ling Yin agreed. "He doesn't exude any designer aura whatsoever."
