In the transmission, she cried out excitedly, “Little Ye Zi, I’ve found a celestial wonderland!”
Zi Ye was astonished. “Where? I didn’t see it! Where did you see it?”
The thought that she alone knew the location of this paradise immediately made Xiao Wan’er feel vastly superior, and she boasted, “I made it to the Oguang Galaxy! Say, do you know what I saw?”
Zi Ye recalled the journey—nothing but clean, empty space—and truly hadn't seen any remarkable scenery. She honestly shook her head. “No.”
Xiao Wan’er cackled, presenting her discovery like a treasure. “I saw a massive rose garden!”
Zi Ye: “…”
Xiao Wan’er animatedly continued, “It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a rose garden this big! And the colors of those roses are so special—several shades I’ve never encountered before. They are breathtaking!”
Zi Ye chuckled, “Where are you? I’ll come pick you up.”
Xiao Wan’er sent coordinates while saying, “I’ve found the Rose Pavilion, and I desperately want to stay here, ying ying. I’m sending you the coordinates; you send yours back, and I’ll tell the Captain to fetch you so we can play together.”
Zi Ye received the coordinates, and her eye twitched when she saw them. Stepping out of the Rose Pavilion, she boarded an air skiff and flew toward the northwest edge of the rose garden. Three minutes later, she spotted the girl, wearing a pink, wide-hemmed dress, as beautiful as a flower amidst the blooms.
Two captains, a man and a woman, were beside her, conversing over a light screen.
Zi Ye expertly landed her skiff on the designated landing pad along the rose path and waved to Xiao Wan’er. “Hey, I’m here.”
The three turned simultaneously. Xiao Wan’er looked surprised. “How did you get here so fast? I was just wondering why you hadn’t sent your coordinates yet.”
Zi Ye laughed heartily. “Come, come, I’ll take you guys.”
Both captains were First-Tier Captains from the Tang Clan, seasoned in both piloting and social navigation. The female captain, in particular, immediately sensed something unusual in Zi Ye’s demeanor and guessed, “You’re from here?”
Zi Ye grinned mischievously. “This is a friend’s rose garden. Currently, I’m the acting groundskeeper.”
“Whoa!!!” Xiao Wan’er gasped, shaking Zi Ye’s shoulders. “Little Ye Zi, you are such a terrible friend! You never told me, making me show off to you like an idiot. You’re awful.”
Zi Ye dodged playfully while starting the skiff. “You found it yourself before I even had a chance to tell you.”
The two bickered playfully in the front seats. Zi Ye’s piloting skills were superb, so she felt no concern about trouble. Returning to the Rose Pavilion, Zi Ye lowered the protective shield. “Be careful, both of you.”
Huh?
Before Xiao Wan’er could react, the scene blurred, and a large swarm of animals rushed in. Zi Ye immediately jumped off the skiff.
The entire group of animals immediately climbed onto the three of them.
“…Ah!” Xiao Wan’er let out a shriek, frantically trying to shake off the small creatures. However, the harder she struggled, the tighter the animals clung, until she was pitifully submerged.
Xiao Wan’er cried out, “Little Ye Zi, save me, wuwu.”
The other two weren't as hysterical as Xiao Wan’er, but their faces were still pale, standing frozen, afraid to move.
Zi Ye leaned against the glass door and smiled. “They aren’t biting you, they are just—” As she spoke, Xiao Wan’er instantly realized it too: none of the creatures were biting her; they were only licking her.
Upon closer inspection, all the little animals were quite adorable.
Zi Ye clapped her hands, and the animals immediately scrambled off them with whoosh sounds, darting into the rose bushes in three quick movements.
The three experienced a false alarm. Once they recovered, they noticed their clothes hadn't even wrinkled—these little creatures were terrifyingly affectionate!
Zi Ye laughed. “These are our guardian animals, called Kenken Stars. They eat the bugs off the roses and the weeds on the ground, but they don’t bite people. Every time I visit, I receive a warm welcome from them. The same goes for you.”
Xiao Wan’er patted her chest. Once her heart settled, she wanted to catch a Kenken Star to play with. She looked left and right but couldn't see one. Instead, she spotted a round, plump lump resting by the entrance—it was Douzai. Assuming it was an obese version of the Kenken Star, she rushed over and scooped it up. “Can I borrow you to play with—”
Before she finished speaking, Douzai opened its mouth, revealing sharp, menacing teeth.
Zi Ye rushed over urgently and snatched the pet back from Xiao Wan’er’s grasp. “Not this one; this one bites people.”
Douzai barked at Zi Ye. Zi Ye picked up a metal chew toy and shoved it into its mouth.
Xiao Wan’er: “…”
Did she have the feeling she was in an alternate dimension?
Zi Ye held Douzai and called out the G-system little girl, inviting the three to sit in the hall and serving them rose water.
The three finally felt as if they had entered a normal world.
However, drinking rose water so casually seemed incredibly extravagant!
Sitting down, Zi Ye had the G-system little girl serve four cups of freshly made rose jelly. Xiao Wan’er’s eyes shone so brightly that she nearly worshipped Zi Ye as a deity.
“Little Ye Zi, you are amazing!”
Zi Ye smiled. “Do you want to go explore the rose garden?”
Xiao Wan’er nodded her head like pounding garlic. “Yes!”
Zi Ye continued, “Do you want to learn a very powerful skill?”
Xiao Wan’er unhesitatingly nodded again. “Yes!!”
Zi Ye pressed on, “Do you want to stay with me?”
Xiao Wan’er blurted out, “More than anything!!!”
Zi Ye nodded contentedly. “Good girl!”
Xiao Wan’er immediately turned to the two captains. “That’s wonderful! I’ll stay here with you. Captain Big Brother and Captain Big Sister, you two should head back first, okay?”
The two captains exchanged another knowing glance.
Xiao Wan’er’s meaning was clear enough. Their mission was simply to escort her to Zi Ye. Now that they had met Zi Ye, their task was complete.
Recently, there had been some unpleasant rumors circulating about Zi Ye in the Tang Clan.
Because Zi Ye had reneged at the last minute and refused the blood and DNA tests, many people were spreading rumors that Zi Ye was not the real sister of Tang Wen—that she was an imposter, a fraud who had run away at the last moment. They claimed Tang Wen was blinded by believing her.
The captains leaned toward these rumors and didn't have a high opinion of Zi Ye. But now, seeing her, she didn't seem like the person described in the gossip.
Her true strength was far greater than what they had initially perceived.
After receiving the same gracious hospitality Zi Ye had shown Xiao Wan’er, the captains’ favorable impression of her soared. Hearing Xiao Wan’er’s suggestion, they cheerfully took their leave.
Once they departed, Xiao Wan’er excitedly ran a lap around the garden. “Little Ye Zi, is there anything I can help you with in the rose garden?”
Zi Ye paused in thought. “What’s your major?”
Xiao Wan’er pouted. “Combat Command.”
Zi Ye: “…”
Xiao Wan’er looked aggrieved. “My brother made me study that. They said Command courses were the easiest. I wanted to study horticulture before, but Eldest Brother vetoed it. Later, I wanted to be a Captain, but Second Brother was scornful. Then I wanted to study architectural design, but the three of them said it wasn't suitable for girls.”
