The Earth Elementals, being a tier above the purely mindless Earth Golem puppets, were naturally superior beings.
They were enormous in stature, with savage visages and immeasurable strength, even possessing a certain bestial instinct, and once summoned, they would gradually evolve. Over the long years, they might even transform into true Earth Spirits, becoming actual living creatures.
However, with their rudimentary intellects, they were utterly incapable of comprehending the meaning of human laughter.
And even less capable of grasping the contempt conveyed within that sound.
But they were enraged nonetheless!
That tiny figure before them, by some unknown means, had managed to provoke the fury of the entire cohort of Earth Elementals. They roared and bellowed, simultaneously swinging fists the size of wine vats, swirling with earthen-yellow Primordial Force, and smashing down violently upon that minuscule insect!
Feng Zikang deftly dodged and bolted, a planned maneuver that held no shame.
In the instant he fled, his peripheral vision caught sight of a black silhouette in the corner of the cavern, wielding a massive greatsword, who also appeared to charge toward him in a staggering manner, as if having lost all reason; meanwhile, Luo Lianxin, who had been behind him, suddenly had her eyes turn blood-red, glaring fiercely at him, her hands forming seals as if preparing some terrifying divine ability.
“Let the heart be pure as ice, and all evils scatter!”
Feng Zikang was certainly not foolish enough to simultaneously endure the wrath of both a Peak Qi Condensation cultivator and a Ghost God General. With a flick of his wrist, two Clarity Charms ignited, shooting toward Luo Lianxin and the Ghost God General respectively.
The moment the Clarity Charms made contact, Luo Lianxin let out a soft hum, her gaze immediately clearing. The divine ability she was preparing instantly halted. She gave Feng Zikang a slight nod, then immediately focused, adopting a watchful stance.
The Ghost God General also halted its advance, looking left and right in confusion, seemingly wondering how it had ended up standing there.
But Feng Zikang had no time for that now; a pack of vicious Earth Elementals was bearing down on him from behind. He let out a sharp cry, activated his Instant Step divine ability, brushed past Luo Lianxin, and bounded ten zhang away.
Under the effect of the "Laughter for All That Is Ridiculous Under Heaven" divine ability, those Earth Elementals indeed ignored Luo Lianxin standing in the middle of the path, rushing relentlessly forward, relentlessly pursuing Feng Zikang.
Feng Zikang broke into a run, but the speed of the Earth Elementals was greater than his. He gritted his teeth and ignited another Spirit Movement Talisman, only then gradually widening the distance between himself and this pack of wolf-like giants.
“I shall naturally seek reimbursement from Senior Sister Luo for this Spirit Movement Talisman…”
He ran across the stone bridge leading to the outer cavern, the crowd of Earth Elementals jostling and squeezing as they chased after him, gradually receding. Feng Zikang’s heart settled, and he began leading them in circles within the cavern.
The routes in the outer section of the Earth Element Origin Cave were complex. Feng Zikang weaved east and west. Although the Earth Elementals were ferocious, their movements were somewhat sluggish, allowing him to shake them off whenever he turned, leaving them roaring in frustration to no avail.
Sometimes Feng Zikang would slow his pace, deliberately inviting their pursuit, only to immediately activate his Shadow Concealment divine ability to hide his form. While the dull-witted Earth Elementals stared at each other, uncertain of what to do next, he would reappear, provoking their furious temper until they erupted in rage and lunged again.
Chasing and fleeing in turn, in a short span, Feng Zikang had actually reached the entrance of the Earth Element Origin Cave. Fortunately, no low-ranking disciples were cultivating here, or there would have been a grave danger of them being smashed to death by the Elementals.
A thought suddenly struck Feng Zikang: What would happen if he lured this group of Earth Elementals outside the cave?
No one had ever attempted such a feat before, so there was no experience to consult.
Logically, these Earth Elementals were condensed entirely from Earth Element Primordial Force. Outside the cave, the Five Elements Primordial Force was a chaotic mix; insufficient Earth Element Force should not be able to sustain the bodies of these constructs—wouldn't they disintegrate?
As a Heavenly Demon Incarnation, he naturally did not dwell on the consequences if these monsters failed to dissolve and caused massive chaos, whether they would utterly wreck the entrance to the Five Elements Origin Cave. But the thought had occurred, and he rushed toward the entrance without hesitation.
Amidst the roars of the Elementals, his figure flickered, taking several quick steps, and he leaped out of the cave mouth, standing on the open ground before the entrance of the Five Elements Origin Cave.
The senior disciple guarding the entrance was still drinking in the thatched hut, likely groggy and unable to mind his business. With no one else around, a tremendous booming sound echoed, and the horde of Earth Elementals poured out.
“Let’s see how rampant you are outside of here!”
Feng Zikang stopped, a slight smile playing on his lips.
“Disperse!”
Feng Zikang turned back, pointing and gesturing at the savage Earth Elementals. They shrieked, but their forms truly became sluggish outside the cave. Their firm, earthen-yellow bodies actually began to dissolve into nothingness, stripped away by the multicolored mist swirling around them.
“Just as expected!”
This outcome was precisely within Feng Zikang’s anticipation. Luring these Earth Element monsters outside the cave meant the turbulent Five Elements Primordial Force would inevitably destroy their forms. Of course, this scenario wouldn't count as him slaying the Elementals, so there would be no cultivation benefits.
The Earth Elementals, perhaps unaware of their impending demise or simply consumed by rage, shuffled slowly toward him step by step. During this process, their bodies continuously shrank. By the time they were close to Feng Zikang, the forms once hailed as giants were already shorter than ordinary Earth Golems by a good margin.
Feng Zikang merely waved his hand gently, smashing the once-arrogant Earth Elementals into powder. A yellow vapor rose, instantly sucked into the multicolored vortex, vanishing without a trace.
In the blink of an eye, the Earth Elementals that had been swaggering moments before had completely disappeared.
“Alas! If Luo Lianxin could have devised this method, why would she have needed to ask for my help?”
With the Earth Elementals gone, even though the cave was rich in Earth Element Primordial Force, it would take quite some time for it to re-coalesce. In that time, it would have been more than enough for Luo Lianxin to slay the Ghost God General alone.
“By now, that girl has likely dealt with most of the Ghost God General. I should go take a look…”
The Earth Element Origin Cave was now entirely without danger for Feng Zikang. He strode boldly into the cave, heading toward its depths.
Crossing the stone bridge, he carefully avoided the impact of the Earth Element Primordial Force and stepped into the deepest part of the cavern.
Before he could properly survey the scene, he heard earth-shattering roars echoing from within the cave.
“So she hasn't finished dealing with the Ghost God General yet…”
Feng Zikang paused, somewhat perplexed. Given Luo Lianxin’s strength and her apparent complete confidence, handling the Ghost God General should have been a straightforward matter. Why was it taking so long?
Judging by the creature’s shouts, its vitality was robust; it didn't sound injured at all.
While pondering, a green shadow streaked out—it was Luo Lianxin, her face ashen. She paused briefly upon seeing him standing at the cave mouth.
“Hurry! The Ghost God General is already…”
Before she could finish speaking, a massive black shadow burst forth violently from the cave, accompanied by an overwhelming stench of blood. It brandished a greatsword with devastating force, as if trying to cleave heaven and earth apart. Within the cavern, earth and stone flew, deep gouges etched by the sword energies unleashed by the Ghost God General.
Yellow dust clouds surged up, only to be immediately blown apart. The Earth Element Primordial Force within the cave had been utterly thrown into disarray by the Ghost God General!
Feng Zikang looked closely. The Ghost God General was enveloped in swirling black miasma, looking exceptionally ferocious. Its greatsword seemed imbued with life; its spine resembled gnarled white bone, and both edges flashed with cold light, exuding a terrifying aura.
At the tip of the blade, several dreadful, shadowy skulls could vaguely be seen circling ceaselessly, emitting faint, mournful cries.
It was vastly different from the General he had seen at the Tomb of the Generals that day!
