There was no doubt that the four security guards had been knocked unconscious by them. To heighten their tension further.
When a person is stressed, their potential is limitless; the real show would only begin once this group’s full potential was unleashed. Lan Li pondered, "What is the objective?
Will this serve your goal significantly?" The redhead seemed as if a bucket of cold water had been dumped on her, instantly losing interest. She leaned against the door in thought for half a minute, finally conceding to Lan Li's perspective: "You're right.
If things don't descend into chaos in a focused manner, it will be hard to achieve our objective." Lan Li nodded subtly to himself. Clever enough, rational enough, and without the petulance of a woman; able to accept advice humbly...
Seeing his contemplative expression, the redhead shot him a sidelong glance, then activated the super-comm in her hand, locating a hidden program within the shared data and beginning the installation. She made no move to conceal it from Lan Li.
He watched the installation bar progress with some surprise: installing a program now instead of strategizing? Was she planning to go the hacker route?
The Colay Hotel had jammed the super-comm signals and all everyday radio waves and electromagnetic frequencies; not only were super-comms impossible, but even the internal communication network of the Angel Domain couldn't get through. The redhead offered no explanation.
Once the installation was complete and she saw the signal bar fill, she dialed Ziye’s silver-comm: "Hey, Little Stink, what are you busy with?" Ziye was so surprised her hair nearly stood on end, "Isn't the Colay Hotel locked down?" The redhead raised an eyebrow, "Oh? You even know about that?" Ziye's fingers flew across the console, distracted, "The outside world has gone completely mad.
There are rumors that the Legion leaders have all been killed, and the joint forces of the Star Federation and Fia are trying to use your absence to take down Wolf's Den at top speed." The redhead’s face instantly darkened, "What’s the situation at Wolf's Den?" Ziye chuckled smugly, "It’s fine. I'm temporarily serving as the acting Combat Director." The redhead burst into laughter and posted a message on the Wolf's Den share: "I, Redhead, formally authorize Ziye to temporarily fulfill the duties of Combat Director for the Wolf's Den Legion!" The two chatted on as if no one else were present.
Lan Li, standing beside them, was utterly dumbfounded. What in the world was this situation?
Just how capable was the redhead! One program solved the problem of signal jamming and blocking?
He shook his head. The woman he admired was terrifying—capable of fighting on the battlefield when out, reigning as a queen indoors, acting as an assassin in a venue, and now, a hacker as well.
He didn't know that this program was no ordinary item; it had been created by Little Sprout, that heaven-defying divine artifact. Ever since there had been an insider within Wolf's Den and since An Junlie was not officially part of Wolf's Den, making silver-comms inconvenient, everyone had downloaded this program onto the shared drive.
It could instantly reroute signal sequencing and encrypt communication channels to prevent eavesdropping. It had to be said, this was one of Ziye’s wisest moves, allowing the redhead to contact her at this crucial moment.
Ziye asked, "How are things on your end? Can you get out?" The redhead replied, "I have something I need to do here, so I won't be leaving yet.
Can you find a way to get me access to the hotel’s surveillance feed?" Ziye paused in thought; she couldn't afford to be distracted on the command ship now, so she handed command over to Tang Jing. Opening the optical computer she carried with her, she said, "You handle your business.
I'll give you an answer in half an hour." The redhead hung up the silver-comm with satisfaction and asked Lan Li, "Have the people outside left?" Lan Li, monitoring the situation outside while paying attention to the redhead’s words, immediately replied, "They have." The redhead stated, "Let's go out. We need to scout near the hotel's surveillance center first, to make operations easier." The more Lan Li witnessed the redhead’s capabilities, the more he wanted to see the extent of her skills.
He stopped offering suggestions and simply followed her lead, stepping out of the room with her and heading toward their target. The redhead had a general understanding of the hotel’s layout and quickly found their way near the surveillance center.
However, someone was faster than they were. Before they even reached the surveillance center, a large contingent of robots was already guarding the entrance.
Those robots were unmistakably the P-series security robots from the Sprout Group. The redhead smiled silently.
Good heavens, this felt like an opportunity being handed to her! No one present was more familiar with the Sprout Group robots than she was.
But this familiarity wouldn't stop the robots from attacking her. All units sold were programmed only to recognize Ziye's identity; they would attack anyone else who posed an intrusion without discrimination.
The redhead chuckled and drew another gun from her thigh. This handgun was peculiar; it didn't fire bullets but instead emitted chaotic interference waves, further equipped with a signal disruption device.
As she activated the gun, the P-series robots lost the ability to recognize their identity data and could not receive command signals from the central hub. They watched the two walk past without even blinking an eye.
The redhead and Lan Li exchanged a smug smile, about to say something, when the periphery of the redhead’s vision caught sight of a figure standing by the surveillance center door. She hastily ducked back behind the wall.
In that split second, Lan Li clearly saw who it was: Peizhe! A flicker of confusion crossed both their eyes.
Whose side was he on? They knew everything he did at the entrance before the lockdown; Peizhe’s strength and speed were beyond that of ordinary people.
In a one-on-one fight, they couldn't beat him, but a two-on-one would surely alert others. Lan Li stepped forward to shield the redhead, preventing Peizhe from spotting them and launching a sudden attack.
The redhead was not accustomed to standing behind others and was about to push him away when Lan Li suddenly remembered something, "Don't you think he looks familiar? Like I've seen him somewhere before..." The redhead was about his height, and standing behind him, she couldn't see a thing, so she pushed his head aside with her hand, peering through the gap between his head and the wall, and shook her head: "Don't recognize him." —That face wasn't strikingly handsome nor particularly ugly; it lacked distinguishing features, except for an exceptional ferocity.
In her memory, there was no one who possessed that type of frantic, savage strength. Lan Li frowned slightly.
Just then, the silver-comm in the redhead's hand lit up; a message from Ziye had arrived. A flash of insight sparked in Lan Li’s mind: "I remember now!
The time I went with you to Kaga for the Twins competition, I saw them. He was the pilot on the runner-up team, with Illia." The redhead raised an eyebrow, "Oh?
You remember something that long ago?" Lan Li ignored her sarcasm and pointed to the silver-comm, "Answer it first." The redhead accepted the call and swiped her fingertip across the screen, converting her text to voice: "How is it?" Ziye replied, "I sent the—" A heavy missile screamed toward the viewport. The captain violently pitched the command ship sideways, and Ziye lost her balance, tumbling onto the floor with a thud.
The heavy missile whistled past! She scrambled up, rubbing her sore backside, "That hurt!
The program has been sent to your silver-comm—" As she spoke, another missile slammed in. Odo was launching a fierce counterattack!
