Quite a few people were unnerved by the little girl's ferocity. The little girl swept her gaze over the group of gawky teenagers and then gave a soft smile.
"Big brothers, tell me your names." "@々ˇ¨〃※~^#*!" "※!/‘~^*." "..." The little girl rolled her eyes. "Speak human!" The crowd: "...These are our names." The little girl sighed in exasperation.
"What do your names mean?" One boy rushed to speak first. "It means the rosy glow on the distant mountains." The little girl nodded.
"Fine, from now on, you're Xiao Hong (Little Red)." The others immediately fell silent, afraid to speak. The little girl pointed down the line, "Xiao Cheng (Little Orange), Xiao Huang (Little Yellow), Xiao Lü (Little Green), Xiao Qing (Little Cyan), Xiao Lan (Little Blue), Xiao Zi (Little Purple)." Just then, the two boys who had been guarding the gate the day before ran over, and the little girl pointed a slender finger at them.
"Xiao Hei (Little Black) and Xiao Bai (Little White)." Xiao Hei and Xiao Bai were late because they had learned the trick to the energy device early and were bombarded with questions by a crowd. Unaware of what had transpired, the little girl continued, "Your next task is to find the decomposer in the refuse pile." The crowd was bewildered.
"Why?" The little girl grinned mischievously. "If you can spy on us, you should have some capability, or you might as well scram early before I have to deal with you." Several of the men were quite irritated by her words.
Xiao Hei, however, seemed to ponder this more deeply. He had witnessed Ziye fixing the energy device with his own eyes the night before, and then used her method to light up his home with a bright lamp.
From that moment on, he resolved to follow Ziye. Thus, while the others were sulking, he simply said, "I'll go." The others watched him with looks of astonishment, but he ignored their gazes and walked straight into the distance.
Xiao Bai’s talent wasn't as sharp as Xiao Hei’s. After struggling all night and repeatedly asking Xiao Hei for clarification, he finally grasped the mystery behind it.
He deeply admired Xiao Hei’s ability, so when Xiao Hei declared he would go, Xiao Bai followed without hesitation. The others either hesitated where they stood or turned and walked away.
Working for the old man was one thing, but having to work for a woman? Absolutely not!
The little girl didn't force anyone. She transmitted the list to Ziye and then, as Ziye instructed, followed the few boys heading to the trash heaps to search for decomposers.
Time proved Ziye’s approach correct. The boys who could quickly grasp the principles of the energy devices indeed showed far greater aptitude for mechanics than the rest.
Although they couldn't immediately understand the theory and repair the decomposers when they found them, they were all able to learn the internal structure through disassembly. After reviewing the carrier system of the battleship, Ziye saw them scattered around the trash mountain in small groups, meticulously examining the decomposers.
She paused, then walked up behind Xiao Hei. He was holding the core of an integrated domestic waste decomposer, a standard piece of equipment from a space waste treatment center.
Ziye couldn't help but marvel once again at Xiao Hei's exceptional comprehension skills; finding the most suitable decomposer in such a short time wasn't something achieved by mere luck. He had already taken the decomposer apart, but due to his inexperience and technical limitations, he hadn't yet pinpointed the fundamental reason why it was rendered unusable.
Ziye shook her head. "This decomposer is still functional; there's no need to research what went wrong." Xiao Hei Monty turned around, seeing her, as if seeing a savior.
"If it's still good, why was it discarded?" Ziye explained, "Every item has a specific service life. Once that period is over, even if it still appears functional, it might fail at any moment.
To prevent such issues, it is dismantled once its service life is reached." Xiao Hei gasped. "Space is truly wealthy!" Ziye suggested, "Since you've disassembled it, you can reassemble it to try breaking down domestic waste, or modify it into a metal decomposer and analyze the metals for your use." Xiao Hei's eyes immediately lit up, and he got to work transforming it into a metal waste decomposer.
Ziye watched him, a faint smile on her lips. As long as they could create decomposers and break down the refuse, the soil here would be exposed, making any future mineral extraction much easier.
Of course, with less trash, their living space would increase—it was a win-win situation no matter how one looked at it. In the end, only six or seven people were willing to work on the trash mountain building decomposers.
Among them, two had mediocre aptitude, two were decent, and the best were Xiao Hei and Xiao Cheng. Ziye watched them toil, sweat dripping in the harsh environment of the trash mountain, and suddenly felt a strong urge to take them to space.
For her, there was no one more suitable for cultivation than those with talent who were willing to endure hardship. She herself had emerged from a difficult environment and understood that given the right conditions, they could leap to a position above others!
Ziye considered for a moment. "Xiao Hei, do you want to leave Trash Planet?" Xiao Hei didn't even look up.
"Yes!" Ziye asked, "The reason?" Xiao Hei replied, "Our planet is too backward, and everything is held tightly in the hands of the Ten Thousand Holders. I want to go out, learn many, many new technologies, and change the current situation of our planet!" Ziye smiled.
"That is an excellent goal. Study hard; I will teach you anything you wish to learn that I can impart." Xiao Hei's eyes instantly brightened, but then doubt flickered across his face.
"Why would you be willing to help me?" Ziye shrugged. "Helping you is helping myself." Xiao Hei looked up, fixing his gaze on her, and she met his stare with calm assurance.
Xiao Hei nodded. "Thank you for your help; I will never forget your kindness." Ziye gave a slight smile and turned toward Butler W, as her stomach was rumbling...
Life on Trash Planet seemed to have reverted to the days on Silver Talisman Star—only work and eating, day in and day out. As she successfully established her foothold on Trash Planet and taught the first group of five or six people the simplified energy system and waste decomposition system, her reputation spread across the planet.
Every day, people came knocking, begging her to teach them this knowledge. Ziye didn't hoard it.
She instructed Butler W to explain basic, easy-to-understand mechanical theory while charting the map of Trash Planet. The population learning grew, mostly consisting of idle teenagers and younger children.
Being younger, they absorbed knowledge more readily, and within a few days, remarkable achievements were noted. Ziye was delighted watching their progress.
Having learned from Ziye, they accepted this alien, and even grew fond of her. Every evening after work, groups of teenagers would climb onto Ziye's wall to sing love songs to her, occasionally running to her door with fresh vegetables and fruit.
Although Ziye lived in the house of the Ten Thousand Holders, she was not one of his concubines, and under Ziye's subtle influence, the teenagers' fear of the Ten Thousand Holders had lessened. Whenever the Ten Thousand Holders sent someone to summon Ziye during working hours, the teenagers would automatically form a 'Ziye Protection Squad' and intercept them in shifts.
The Ten Thousand Holders tried repeatedly and failed to summon her, and he became enraged!
