Long Feng looked at Zhang Yang with a touch of surprise; he hadn't expected Zhang Yang to take the initiative to strike.
Zhang Yang’s temperament had always been exemplary. Unlike cultivators raised within established powerful families like themselves, Zhang Yang carried himself in the secular world in such a way that you would never suspect he was a cultivator—you could treat him as an ordinary person entirely.
If it had been Long Feng in the previous situation, taking action would have been entirely normal; for anyone to dare insult him to that degree, knocking out two of their teeth would have been the mildest possible punishment.
Zhang Yang’s direct and immediate physical correction of the person caught Long Feng somewhat off guard.
“Someone! Come quickly! Someone is assaulting people here! Young Master Li has been hit!”
As soon as Zhang Yang and Huang Jing started to leave, a young man standing behind Li Hua immediately bellowed out the alarm. This young man was the one who had made the call to notify Li Hua earlier.
Long Feng frowned slightly and walked directly over.
After just a couple of shouts, the sound abruptly ceased, and the young man looked at Long Feng with sheer terror.
His collar was instantly gripped by Long Feng, suspending him mid-air.
Long Feng, clad entirely in black and sporting sunglasses, already presented a fearsome appearance. As the man struggled, caught in his grasp, he found himself unable to utter a sound from his throat.
Long Feng held him without a word, then simply tossed him aside.
He put a degree of latent internal strength into the throw; the man’s backside would likely be unable to sit comfortably for three days. Long Feng’s methods were arguably harsher than Zhang Yang’s.
Zhang Yang shook his head slightly at Long Feng, prompting Long Feng to turn and follow him out, with Zhuifeng trotting alongside. The beast snorted contemptuously through its nose, clearly hoping those people would dare provoke it so it could teach them a lesson.
Huang Jing suddenly stopped where she stood, her brow furrowing once more, her face etched with worry.
Seven or eight security guards, accompanied by a man in a black suit, came running from a short distance away.
Huang Jing recognized the man in the black suit: he was the vice president of this venue, the overall person in charge. The club’s actual owner was one of the shareholders and rarely present; this man managed nearly everything. It was this very person who had processed her Silver Card membership application.
The seven strapping security guards arrived swiftly, quickly surrounding the man in black as he approached. Zhang Yang was already standing there, watching the unfolding scene in silence.
Long Feng stood protectively in front of Zhang Yang; their three-year pact was still in effect, making him Zhang Yang's official bodyguard for this period.
“Manager Liang!”
Huang Jing took the initiative to greet the man first. His name was Liang Wanyi, an interestingly named individual, but known to be ruthless. Once, someone had been overly aggressive at the club, and Liang Wanyi had broken that person’s legs before throwing him out. The victim had later limped back to apologize, but his membership was still revoked, and he reportedly left Hangzhou to seek opportunities elsewhere, as he could no longer remain in the city.
“Manager Liang, you’ve arrived! You must deliver justice for us! Young Master Li and Young Master Wang have both been beaten!”
As soon as Huang Jing finished her greeting, the young men who had been accompanying Li Hua crowded around, simultaneously launching a barrage of complaints while glaring viciously at Zhang Yang.
Li Hua himself also managed to walk over, displaying his ravaged state to Liang Wanyi. His mouth was slick with blood, causing him to lisp slightly when he spoke, yet his eyes burned with intense malice as he looked at Zhang Yang. He was determined to get revenge on this fraud, to see Zhang Yang suffer a terrible end. The fact that Zhang Yang dared strike him, and so brutally, meant Zhang Yang would certainly face severe consequences.
Seeing Li Hua's condition, Liang Wanyi’s eyebrows twitched. This club exclusively catered to members, and every member held a certain standing. Such individuals rarely caused trouble here. Through a few harsh lessons delivered previously, he had thoroughly intimidated everyone; for over a year, nothing significant had occurred. Even acquaintances with old grudges dared only exchange words if they met on the premises, never resorting to physical conflict. No one had anticipated that today someone would dare to initiate a fight.
“Sir, you seem unfamiliar. Let me see your membership card!”
Without waiting for Li Hua’s full account, Liang Wanyi took a step forward and addressed Zhang Yang directly. The surrounding security guards immediately closed ranks, all glaring fiercely at Zhang Yang. They knew that if Liang Wanyi gave the order, they would subdue this young man and give him a thorough beating. They were aware that as long as they didn’t beat someone to death on the premises, there would be no repercussions for them.
“Manager Liang…” Huang Jing called out urgently.
“Miss Huang, this is not your concern right now. I am addressing this gentleman!”
Her words were cut off by Liang Wanyi, who spoke to her with marked impoliteness.
Li Hua’s entourage supported him. Li Hua fixed a venomous stare on Zhang Yang, already plotting how he would deal with Zhang Yang later to settle the score and vent his frustration. He also resented Huang Jing now; once his family matters were settled, he resolved to teach that girl a harsh lesson, to torment her fiercely and make her understand his power.
“I don’t have a membership card!”
Zhang Yang replied softly. He had come with Huang Jing and therefore possessed no card.
“Manager Liang, Mr. Zhang is my guest—a very important one. I brought him here, and I hope you will grant me some face in this matter!”
Huang Jing quickly interjected with an explanation. She had only brought Zhang Yang here because she found the environment pleasant. She hadn't anticipated this kind of incident and regretted the situation, but she was doing her best. She was keenly aware that her standing wasn't sufficient to influence Liang Wanyi significantly.
“No membership card? You just came along with someone else?”
Liang Wanyi paused briefly, then bellowed, his eyes flashing with anger. While the club allowed guests, those brought along were expected to be more disciplined. Members with the means sought to obtain cards; those without were typically timid.
“Manager Liang, Mr. Zhang is Chapter 679’s guest today, which has attracted quite a number of other patrons who have come over to watch the excitement. For a moment, this spot turned into a small crowd gathering.”
“How did he cause trouble? Tell me,” the young man asked again. Young Master Qi had also noticed Zhang Yang at this point, and he too paused in surprise, though the people surrounding him were even more taken aback.
“This is…”
Liang Wanyi didn't speak immediately; instead, he glanced towards Young Master Qi.
“Answer immediately. Tell me exactly what happened, omitting not a single word!” Young Master Qi stated calmly. Liang Wanyi’s heart gave a sudden lurch. He sensed something was amiss, yet he couldn't pinpoint what it was. He had no time to dwell on it, however, and could only offer a brief summary of the events as Li Hua had related them: Zhang Yang had hit someone and caused a disturbance here.
“Zhang Yang, you vanished without a trace, and now you show up here fighting people?” The young man who had previously questioned him looked at Zhang Yang with amusement and asked with a grin.
“Exactly! You must explain yourself clearly right now, or none of us will let you off the hook this time!” another young man chimed in, glancing admiringly at Zhuifeng beside him as he spoke.
Reviewing the previous chapters today, I realized I had forgotten a crucial matter. I have been busy traveling recently and neglected to provide the bonus chapter owed to the Patron a1398796. Whenever a Patron emerges, a dedicated bonus chapter is warranted to celebrate. Little Yu is making up for it here with an extra chapter for Patron a1398796, and I thank Patron a1398796 again for their support! (Your support is my greatest motivation.)RQ
