Having finished what she was doing, Zi Ye ambled toward the robot mall where Black Beard’s shop was located, with Little Sprout trailing along. Just as they entered the main door, Little Sprout suddenly tugged at her, “Zi Ye, Zi Ye, let’s not go in, let’s just go home.” Zi Ye shook her head. “No way. I need to do some market research. We’re going the professional robot route from now on.”
Wherever there are people, there is a need for robots. The robots she used to make were good companions for home and travel, but coming to the Angel Domain, she felt that specializing in professional robots could lead to quite a good market. Professional robots, like security bots for space stations, guide bots, cleaning bots… anywhere there’s a space station, they could be used. Above space, space stations are the most abundant thing there is.
Clutching this golden opportunity, she wouldn’t have to worry about finding customers. It would be even better if she could collaborate with the Legions or the Great Families.
She trusted Black Beard had the capability for that. The more determined Zi Ye appeared, the more anxious Little Sprout became. It bounced in front of her, using its body to block her view, preventing her from moving forward. Zi Ye snapped out of her thoughts, noticing its suspicious behavior, and deliberately put on a stern face. “Little Sprout, are you hiding something from me?” Little Sprout flapped its wings in agitation. “No, no, I’m not!” Zi Ye had only been joking, but seeing its reaction, she genuinely suspected it had a guilty conscience. She shot it a sidelong glance. “Move aside!” Startled, Little Sprout tumbled from the air. It frantically grabbed onto her clothes, bumping her waist with its head. “Waaah, I was wrong, I was wrong!” Zi Ye was momentarily bewildered. Just as she was about to ask what was going on, the next second, she saw the live broadcast of interstellar news on the virtual screen inside the mall: “Angel Legion CEO An Junlie successfully meets with Principal Fitt of Lings, reaching an agreement regarding the Angel Legion sending exchange students.” So that was it?
Zi Ye looked down at the guilty-looking Little Sprout. “An Junlie is at Lings, hmm?” Her voice rose with a hint of menace. Little Sprout shrieked in fear, desperately trying to burrow into her clothes. “Zi Ye, don’t abandon me, it wasn’t intentional!” Zi Ye almost slapped its behind hard, but her hand stopped midway. She realized the situation arose because she hadn’t made things clear, so she couldn't go through with the punishment. Instead, she scooped it up and sighed. “Let’s go back to school.” Little Sprout clung to her collar for a long moment. Seeing that she truly wasn’t blaming it, it grew bolder, quickly flying up to perch on her shoulder, sitting obediently and daring not to cause any more trouble. It glanced back at the huge virtual screen; for a fleeting second, it intensely wished it could black out every screen in the entire mall! Those virtual screens were undeniably the most detestable things in the galaxy, bar none! On the surface, Zi Ye remained calm, but inside she was quite impulsive. Burning with impatience, she piloted her shuttle straight outside the Lings Space Station, landing directly on the platform atop the external office building used for receiving guests. Little Sprout had never seen her in such a hurry. It quietly thought to itself, Has Zi Ye finally realized the benefits of aliens? Will I be able to use nude photos of aliens to threaten her in the future?
Heh heh, it had stored so many nude photos of aliens. However, since Zi Ye hadn't punished it, was what it did a bit wrong? Little Sprout pondered this dilemma again and again, until it accidentally slipped from Zi Ye’s shoulder. It suddenly snapped back to reality, grabbed onto the edge of her clothing, and laboriously climbed back onto her shoulder… Zi Ye disembarked from the shuttle and rushed straight into the star-lit hall where the meeting took place. What frustrated her was that she didn't see An Junlie in person at all.
The meeting had long since concluded, and only duty staff remained. An Junlie had already departed. She rubbed Little Sprout against her cheek, trying to soothe her vexation. “Forget it, let’s go.” Zi Ye didn't know that the person she longed to see was currently sitting in the lounge at the dock exit, waiting for her return! Any departure required passing through the dock exit unless using a personal shuttle. An Junlie naturally assumed she would pass that way and deliberately waited in ambush. He hadn't counted on Zi Ye acquiring her own shuttle the day before and flying directly to the external office just to see him. An Junlie’s deliberate visit to the Principal of Lings University, publicized on the interstellar news, was entirely to inform Zi Ye that he was at the Lings Space Station, so she could return anytime if she wished to see him. Yet, he hadn't expected that even though Zi Ye returned, they still missed each other. In his agonizing wait, he realized with despair: Zi Ye was avoiding him; Zi Ye didn't want to see him! An Junlie pinched the bridge of his nose, boarded his shuttle once more, and left Lings for Si Yatu. The interstellar route leading to Yin Fu was nearing completion, and he needed to find time to visit some old friends and discuss establishing a pilot training base on Yin Fu Star with them…
Perhaps, after seeing them, and then seeing Zi Ye, she would be willing to meet him.
An Junlie left Lings filled with deep disappointment and headed for Si Yatu.
Lately, Lan Li had been quite neglectful of his duties.
According to Lan Li’s personal secretary, Lan Li had been completely captivated by a seductive, enchanting woman for the past week and hadn't shown up before them, causing them considerable worry.
An Junlie felt a flicker of surprise, and fearing something might have happened to Lan Li, he decided to pay him a visit.
Fortunately, the progress on the interstellar route was going smoothly.
The Galactic Federation personnel had recently grown fat and slow, completely failing to notice that a route was being constructed right under their noses. Of course, they had taken every precaution for secrecy, and in space, a route is like an airplane flight path above a planet.
Those who couldn’t even see airplane routes certainly wouldn’t spot an interstellar track.
An Junlie wanted to ask Lan Li what was going on, but upon reflection, since Lan Li was neither sick nor injured, it was natural for him to have private matters, so he decided not to disturb him.
The next order of business should be returning to the Angel Domain to focus on dealing with the Fur Beasts appearing on the western frontier.
The Angel expert had just sent him the examination report on the Fur Beasts. Indeed, someone had been conducting experiments on them, and the laboratory was likely not far from their western border.
These Fur Beasts were all failed experimental subjects. Those with malicious intent had thrown them onto the frontier, naturally causing them to rampage there.
This matter would naturally be followed up by the Crisis Management Team; he wasn’t in a rush to return.
Because, in his heart, there was one person and one matter he couldn't let go of—Zi Ye.
Si Yatu formed a triangle with Kaga and the Angel Domain, making it quite out of the way. An Junlie looked at the star chart, wrestled with the decision in his mind for a moment, and finally resolved to make another trip to Lings.
In the future, unless there were special circumstances, he definitely wouldn't make a special trip to Lings again.
Right now, if he didn't go to Lings, he would never find peace of mind about her.
How she got out, the hardships she endured in the cosmos—that was all in the past, it didn't matter. He had only one thought: to ensure she never suffered again!
