Ziye calmed her nerves and was about to head back when her comm suddenly buzzed—it was Aix, whom she hadn't heard from in ages: "Yaya, where are you?" A warmth flooded her heart, and she immediately sent him her coordinates.
In less than three minutes, Aix rushed over and enveloped her in a solid hug. He was clearly inexperienced with hugging girls; the force was so intense she nearly coughed blood.
Aix looked concerned. "Yaya, did they bully you?"
That single sentence successfully activated Ziye's tear ducts.
Neither the mockery from her classmates in the Mech Repair track nor Ruilatis's plotting had made her cry, but Aix’s casual inquiry brought her to tears. She buried her head in his embrace, nestling in, secretly wiping away her tears. Raising her head, her eyes red, she managed, "I'm fine. What about Spente? Didn't he come?"
Aix affectionately stroked her head. "Someone just sent a batch of photos to Spente. He's dealing with it now and will be here soon."
Ziye was curious. "What photos?" It couldn't be that Little Sprout hacked Ruilatis's datapad and got explicit pictures, could it!
Aix opened his comm interface, tapped lightly, and the photos appeared. "These."
Phew, that’s a relief.
Ziye breathed a sigh of relief. She had already shown Little Sprout the photos Ruilatis had someone secretly take of her and Li Chunyu. Since she'd already gotten her revenge, she felt completely placated. Let Ruilatis spread whatever rumors she wanted; Ziye was, after all, Tang Wen’s legitimate student.
If Ruilatis’s explicit photos got out, the number one beauty of the Dongdian Military University would surely be ruined!
Ziye clenched her fists. Dongdian’s number one beauty, just you wait.
Aix Ben-Te chuckled. "Don't worry, Spente will expose the mastermind soon enough. We can just wait and enjoy the show."
Ziye, assuming they were thinking the exact same thing she was, quickly asked, "What are you planning? Don't tell me you're going to leak her explicit photos!"
Aix clicked his tongue. "Good heavens, you're even fiercer than we are!"
Ziye sensed a hidden meaning in his words. Confused, she asked, "What do you mean?"
Aix patted her head. "Little Yaya girl, let me tell you quietly: that woman Ruilatis has far too many lovers, most of them high-ranking officials in the Interstellar Federation. Leaking explicit photos isn't the main issue; if it drags in the power structures behind them, things get complicated for us. When you do something like this, it must be absolutely flawless."
Ziye was instantly startled. She questioned Little Sprout mentally: Little Sprout, did you send them out?
Little Sprout rolled around in her mind, mimicking Aix’s tone: Little Yaya girl. Let me tell you quietly: you’ve pulled 3.2% worth of grudge value just because of the twins. The main player is here now. We shouldn’t rush.
"Love you so much!" Ziye thought, simultaneously scooping up Little Sprout and planting a huge kiss on her.
Aix didn't seem bothered by this; he continued, "Revenge, you know, should be kept to a certain point. Going too far, stirring up the whole city, can bring about losses that outweigh the gains."
Seeing his seemingly skilled demeanor, Ziye asked earnestly, "Tell me quickly. What's your method?"
Aix glanced around mischievously. Seeing no one nearby, he whispered mysteriously, "Hush, I'm not telling you." This infuriated Ziye, who clenched her fists and gave him a good beating.
However, the fellow was thick-skinned, and she couldn't hurt him no matter how hard she hit. Once she was done, he slowly put his hands in his pockets. "Let's go wait for Spente at the Beautiful Flower House."
The Beautiful Flower House was the name of a restaurant.
The restaurant was on Kaga Station 3. By taking an airship and swiping their student cards, they could reach it directly via a dedicated track. The flower house was lavishly decorated with greenery. When the deliberately created breeze passed through, the orchid leaves swayed, the bamboo leaves moved, and the shadows of the grass shifted, releasing a fresh, leisurely fragrance.
In space, things like flowers and plants were incredibly rare and expensive. They could only be grown in one-thousandth of the asteroid belt; most had to be imported from planets. Furthermore, plants were difficult to sustain in space and required specialized care.
Consequently, the restaurant's prices were outrageously high.
In the past, Ziye certainly couldn't have afforded to spend money there, but now she felt, how many friends in a lifetime could be like the Twins? Even if her pockets were empty, she insisted on treating them to this meal.
When the two arrived at the Sunlight Flower House, Spente was already waiting. He was thrilled to see Ziye. "Over here, over here."
Many people turned their heads when they heard his voice. Seeing the Twins, they all offered slight smiles. The Twins walked in without ceremony amidst the smiles, settling down in a spot shaded by blooming flowers.
"Yaya, this is a gift for you." Spente picked up a long, slender, vintage green box tied with a red ribbon from his seat. He handed it to her, winked, and smiled, "You must cherish it."
Ziye was slightly taken aback but felt deeply touched. It was the first time someone had genuinely treated her as a friend and given her a New Year's gift; she hadn't even prepared anything for them.
Actually, even if they hadn't brought her a New Year's gift, simply standing by her side during these two days of incessant attacks was enough to move her to tears.
With glistening eyes, she took the gift with both hands. "May I open it?"
The Twins smiled back at her.
Ziye made a face and opened the box. Inside was a horizontal scroll, like an ancient Chinese scroll from thousands of years ago, made of brocade, covered in patterns. There were childish watercolor paintings, grand and sweeping ink washes, clumsy handwriting that looked like chicken scratches, and musical notes curled like intestines—all different patterns perfectly fused into a unique artistic conception.
The signature at the bottom read: Di Tar.
Aix explained with a smile, "When we went home, Sister Nineteen kept asking where Little Yaya sister had gone. We told her you were home for the New Year, and she insisted on getting you a gift. So our whole family painted this. We hope you don't mind."
As Ziye put the scroll away, she let out an "Eh?" when her peripheral vision caught a name written in vigorous strokes at the bottom: "An Junlie." She was surprised.
Spente leaned over, glanced, and boasted smugly, "It even has our Angel CEO's personal signature. Nineteen forced him to write it."
Ziye smiled faintly. "Please thank him for me."
The Twins spoke in unison, one on each side: "Do you want to talk to him on comms right now?"
Ziye quickly pressed down on both of them. "No, no need."
Her current strategy was to avoid contact whenever possible. People met during special times were best kept in memory; dragging them into daily life would only shatter those beautiful past notions. It was better not to disturb the Great CEO’s life.
To steer the conversation away from the CEO topic, Ziye smiled brightly. "I brought gifts for you too!" Saying this, she pulled out five or six robot models from her bag, placing them one by one on the table.
There were B-series, D-series, G-series, F-series, N-series, and W-series. They were made to scale, about 10cm tall, crafted from high-purity crystal, wearing exquisitely tailored formal attire—absolutely stunning.
The Twins' gazes were immediately captured. They held the models in their palms, unable to put them down.
Ziye laughed. "Which one do you want?"
Aix instantly scooped up all the crystal models. "Can I have all of them?"
Ziye let out a soft laugh and was about to speak when Spente immediately pried three out of his hands. "You can't have them all; these three are mine."
Ziye shook her head helplessly. "I made nineteen; there’s one for everyone in your family."
Spente immediately countered, "That's wrong! Our family has two new members! That makes 21 people now, plus Father and Mother Di Tar, that’s 23 people in total."
Ziye secretly wiped a bead of sweat. She had originally planned to give the Twins actual robots, but seeing how glued they were to the models, she just gave up. These models were practice pieces made by the newly created manual fabrication robots during the New Year; they turned out quite beautiful, and she had casually taken a few out, which happened to be just what she needed to give the Twins.
The Twins exchanged an embarrassed glance and carefully placed the models back on the table. "We'll just pick one," they said. Their eyes swept over the numerous robots, and without prior consultation, both reached for the G-series Loli model.
This model was designed based on later concepts, vastly different from the G-series little girl on Silver Talisman Star. It wore a gorgeous Gothic dress, had twin tails, a black satin ribbon, and striking azure pupils—it instantly hit the Twins' soft spot for cuteness.
Ziye was speechless. It was one thing that they looked alike; it was another that their tastes and hobbies were identical too. She shook her head and laughed, "Take them all. There are six here; I'll make a few more when I get back."
"How can we be so rude! We were just joking!" Aix Ben-Te said in unison. They actually only took the single G-series model, returning the other five.
Even if the Twins weren't connoisseurs, they knew crystal material was expensive, and adding the crafting cost meant these models were easily worth several hundred yuan. Ziye couldn't argue with them, so she placed the remaining five models back into her bag. She didn't feel the slightest bit bad; this crystal was stuff Blackbeard had thrown her as toys, gotten from who knows where, so it cost her nothing.
The three chatted so engrossed they forgot to order. The beautiful service robot of the restaurant had been standing near them, waiting. Only after they finally finished their antics did it step forward with standard precision. "What would the three of you like to order?"
The Twins were straightforward: one hot milk, one hot cocoa. This left Ziye stunned until she finally ordered a rose tea. After ordering, Aix seemed to remember something. "What about Li Chunyu? We have a gift for him too!"
Ziye was greatly surprised. "You prepared something for him as well?"
Spente grinned slyly. "Of course. Last semester, he promised to show us the Platinum Tycoon this semester. If we didn't have something to offer, it would be too awkward to ask, right!"
Ziye thought that made sense. Li Chunyu had escorted her back to the apartment yesterday and even brought her medicine; she hadn't thanked him yet. She immediately dialed his comm. "Chun Niu, where are you? Aix Ben-Te is here to see you!" As soon as she finished speaking, Aix Ben-Te leaned into the comm screen, making a silly face.
On the screen, a weary Li Chunyu replied, "I'm on Pearl Station 12. I got lost for three hours; I feel like throwing up."
