"Kazunul, Manzul, Zist, List, what are you doing here?" Bolpot frowned, looking displeased at the men. "If I recall correctly, you should be undergoing priestly education in the temple now. This is your study time; you shouldn't be wandering around."
The several tall, handsome youths, whose radiant appearances were akin to sun gods, simultaneously bowed slightly to Bolpot. Among them, the one with the most golden, radiant long hair, Kazunul, Bolpot’s eldest brother, chuckled, "Dear elder brother, we only wish to lend you a hand, to lighten some of the pressure on your shoulders."
Manzul, Kazunul’s full-blooded younger brother, fiddled with a ruby the size of a fist and said slowly, "You are the elder brother; your fame now resounds everywhere. What about us? We still have to receive education from the priests in the temple like uninitiated children. This makes us feel very unfair, my brother."
Zist and List also chimed in, stating that Bolpot had soared to success while neglecting his own brothers. The nine elector families of the First Roman Kingdom had been established. Besides the number one Holsam family, the other eight were also prominent families among the Romans, including six of the original nine elector families of the former Roman Kingdom. These elector families had already begun to divide the power of the First Roman Kingdom, from military to administration to finance and every other aspect. It seemed there was hardly any political cake left to slice in the First Roman Kingdom's territory.
"We require official positions, elder brother," Zist stated frankly. "Don't you think keeping us in the temple education is a waste of talent?"
List was even more direct: "Instead of letting outsiders share the power that belongs to us, why don't we brothers secure a larger share for ourselves? What do you think?"
Bolpot gazed deeply at his brothers and sneered, "What the priests in the temple teach you is the profound technology inherited from the Roman Knights, the culture and knowledge left by our ancestors. I kept you in the temple to continue learning for your own good." He paused, then added placidly, "However, since you are willing to help me, the newly established Ministry of Infrastructure in the kingdom is short of a few supervisors. You can take charge of that area."
With a benevolent smile, Bolpot spoke gently, "Go, go. You know the kingdom is undertaking massive infrastructure projects, involving countless manpower, material, and financial resources. If you can achieve some merit here, it will facilitate your future promotions."
Intentionally or not, Bolpot spoke with an air of proud disdain: "Undoubtedly, I will inherit the Holsam family. As for you, if you wish, you can enjoy your due power and wealth within the family. If you are unwilling, in the future, I will allow you to leave the family according to Roman tradition to establish families of your own. While the family's glory can still protect you, go and accumulate some connections and strength that might help you later. It will benefit you."
Bolpot's words caused the faces of Kazunul and the others to change drastically. They stared blankly at Bolpot for a moment, bowed simultaneously, then straightened up without a word and left the woods.
Bolpot watched the backs of the four brothers and coldly chuckled in a low voice, "At least I agree with one thing Father said: Roman women are always too superficial and shallow. They know nothing of the political game, yet they always enjoy playing their pitiful little tricks. Heavens, heavens, don't they realize how impossible it is for their sons to compete with me?"
After a few cold laughs, Bolpot casually said, "Let them each be responsible for the construction of the military bases on the north and south poles of these three planets. That is a highly lucrative post. Hmm, assign them more powerful subjugated clan warriors; recall eighty percent of the clansmen and Ling race vassal soldiers currently responsible for the construction of those bases. Provide them with priority for the necessary materials and funds."
A Doom Guard Knight flashed out of thin air, saluted Bolpot, and then dissolved back into the air.
Bolpot smiled coldly. He looked up at the sky and muttered softly, "My brothers, please don't let the last shred of brotherhood I feel for you dissipate... Hmm, Heishuo Jin, you wretch who only hides behind two brothers, what are you doing right now?"
Heishuo Jin was reveling with several Roman beauties. Completely naked, he was frantically chasing an equally unclothed Roman woman. Lecherous laughter echoed far across the flower-strewn garden, even drifting over the high palace gates into the outer courtyard.
This was the palace of the Second Roman Kingdom, composed of the Roman Royal Palace—relocated directly from Mars—and dozens of newly constructed magnificent palace complexes. Behind the palace cluster was a vast mountain range, from which dozens of waterfalls, each thousands of meters high, roared down. Mist drifted over the palaces, and dozens of colorful rainbows faintly shimmered within the vapor, dazzling and indescribably beautiful.
In front of the palaces lay a freshwater lake. Although it was newly established, its surface area was comparable to the Pacific Ocean on Earth. Water from several deep pools at the base of the fish-shaped peaks flowed into the lake through river channels spanning over ten kilometers. This magnificent palace complex was thus surrounded by water systems large and small. The clear, green water reflected the towering trees and blooming flowers everywhere, making this collection of palaces as captivating as a celestial dwelling.
Squads of Roman warriors stood guard around the palaces, their vigilant gazes sweeping the surroundings, noting every movement. Any disturbance, however slight, could draw their merciless response.
Dozens of giant armed turrets patrolled the palace grounds. These frighteningly destructive weapons had also been relocated from Mars. The Second Roman Kingdom, having inherited the entire legacy of the former Roman Kingdom, clearly possessed superior infrastructure compared to Bolpot’s First Roman Kingdom.
"Hahahaha!" Heishuo Jin's triumphant roar came from the rear garden. He pinned a woman who couldn't escape to the ground, impatiently pressing himself down upon her.
The few Roman warriors guarding the rear garden entrance couldn't help but swallow. The women frolicking in the garden were no ordinary people; they all hailed from the most noble and well-connected elector families in the Second Roman Kingdom. The noblest Roman noble blood flowed in their veins. Furthermore, they were the most famous beauties among the Romans, each a darling who commanded attention at every social gathering. But now, they shared the same title: Consorts of the Second Roman Kingdom.
Sharp moans continuously drifted from the garden. The few Roman guards exchanged glances, cautiously pressing their faces against the cracks of the garden gate, drooling as they spied on their King and his Consorts’ unrestrained, spectacular performance. Soon, a thick golden hue spread across the guards' faces as they panted with excitement.
An unhappy, slight cough was heard. Borugin and Yakjin strode forward grandly, leading a large contingent of Roman warriors toward the area.
The few guards at the gate jumped up in alarm, standing as stiffly as wooden posts with grim faces at the entrance to the rear garden.
Borugin and Yakjin exchanged a look, and a mocking laugh escaped them. Borugin subtly hooked his finger: "Kill them!"
Several Roman subjugated warriors, fierce as wolves and tigers, rushed toward the ashen-faced guards, grabbing them and pinning them to the ground. With clean, swift strokes from their heavy bronze battle-axes, they severed their heads. Golden blood sprayed across the emerald-green lawn. A few subjugated warriors jubilantly raised the severed heads of the Roman soldiers. For these vassal warriors, killing "Gods" under the command of a "Great God" was intoxicating—they were almost driven mad with ecstasy.
Borugin stepped over the blood of his kinsmen and arrived at the rear garden door, pushing it open forcefully.
Yakjin rushed into the rear garden impatiently. His eyes immediately caught sight of Heishuo Jin vigorously thrusting his body amidst the flowers. Yakjin laughed loudly and applauded, "Honorable Elder Brother, Your Majesty the King, you are truly magnificent! Ah, your mighty physique not only captivates women but nearly enchants us as well!"
Heishuo Jin roared and leaped up. He angrily took a few steps toward them, pointing at Yakjin and shouting in fury, "Bastards, is this how a Roman noble should address his King?"
Borugin and Yakjin’s expressions shifted, and both immediately fell to their knees. Yakjin forced a dry laugh, "No, Your Majesty, I was merely praising your might and handsomeness."
Borugin’s smile became even more lewd, and he chuckled, "Furthermore, we are immensely envious of the exquisite figures of several Consorts. Oh, truly worthy of being the most famous flowers of our Roman people."
Heishuo Jin’s face darkened with rage. Although Borugin and Yakjin knelt before him, their King, with outward subservience, their words contained not even the most basic respect for him. His body trembled violently. Suddenly, he turned back toward his astonished consorts and roared, "Get inside! How many men do you want to see your bodies? Is ten billion not enough? Should I throw you into the barracks so everyone can admire your figures?"
The consorts screamed in terror, hastily covering their vital areas as they fled into an exquisite side hall within the rear garden.
Several handmaidens rushed over to help Heishuo Jin drape a loose robe over himself. A gold-inlaid throne was brought over, and Heishuo Jin sprawled onto it, coldly observing Borugin and Yakjin kneeling on the ground. Calming the anger in his heart, Heishuo Jin sneered, "My dear brothers, you rushed over here so urgently, what is it you wish to convey?"
Borugin respectfully pressed his forehead against the tips of the grass blades on the ground and stated calmly, "It is this, Your Majesty. Yakjin and I believe that we deserve a status more fitting to our standing."
