These malevolent beasts, sealed away for countless ages, remained unvanquished. Though their might was diminished compared to their prime, they were still beyond the match of gods and spirits; even many God-Emperor powerhouses found themselves at a disadvantage in single combat.

Ye Chen lingered not, casting one silent glance before urging Xiao Zhongsheng to quicken their pace, hurtling towards the Celestial Lord Divine Continent where the clan was relocating.

Along the way, they passed over a dozen cities, witnessing too many corpses and too much blood. Ye Chen’s expression grew steadily colder, as if numbed to death itself, yet his eyes became increasingly frigid.

Suddenly, a counter-gust of wind surged upward, originating from the mountain range ahead of the Celestial Dao Divine Vessel. Out of the peaks burst a black malevolent beast carrying six wings. Its entire body was sheathed in black scales, tightly protecting every joint and patch of skin. Its fangs were ferocious and razor-sharp, dripping with viscous, yellowish saliva, and its eyes, brilliant and blood-red like rubies, seemed dyed in gore, brimming with savagery and intent to slaughter.

It charged forward against the wind.

Xiao Zhongsheng remained unperturbed. Her radar had long since detected the ferocious beast. Upon her delicate, oval face, cool and aloof, her slender fingers, as fair as scallions, lightly pressed a red button.

Kaka-ka~

A metal plate on the base of the Celestial Dao Divine Vessel suddenly slid open, from which emerged a row of gaping muzzles of enormous caliber. These cannons instantly targeted the beast, spewing forth fierce tongues of fire. Relentlessly, beams of energy enveloped the creature’s body in an instant, as if tearing through spacetime itself, piercing the void with streaks of light resembling transparent arrows.

The beast furiously lunged, a defiant, enraged monster, opening its cavernous maw to unleash a colossal energy pillar, crashing headlong against the barrage of energy projectiles raining down.

The two forces collided with a deafening impact, yet no sound escaped; the entire world seemed to instantly fall silent, terrifyingly still. Only a blinding, snow-white light shone forth, dazzling and overwhelming the beast before it, manifesting like a scorching sun. The beast’s chest and torso were illuminated stark white, and gradually, its entire form was consumed by this white radiance.

Then, the delayed thunderclap finally arrived, rolling like celestial lightning across the heavens, causing the surrounding spatial energy to churn into chaos. Heaven and earth seemed to shake and tremble.

Whoosh!

Amidst a brilliant flash of snow-white light, the Celestial Dao Divine Vessel whistled past, tearing through the glow and speeding into the distance. The dust cloud left in its wake slowly settled, as if the whole event had never occurred.

The Celestial Lord Divine Continent—one of the Divine Continents outside the ancient Rainbow Divine Continent—vastly surpassed the former White Lotus Divine Continent in terms of sheer territorial size.

Its lands were fertile, rich in resources, and its mountains and rivers presented magnificent scenery. Legend held that several God-Emperor powerhouses, along with numerous deities, had once emerged from this very continent.

Originally, this land was home to twelve great cities, four major sects, and two alliances. One was the Merchant Alliance, responsible for commerce, comprising the wealthiest individuals and major traders from both within the Celestial Lord Divine Continent and from outside. In terms of sheer wealth on this land, this alliance was undoubtedly paramount.

The other organization was the War God Alliance, a gathering place for the most powerful figures, assembling all the deities of this divine continent. It was rumored that the Alliance Lord was a God-Emperor level powerhouse!

The headquarters of the War God Alliance was situated in the very center of Queyue City, one of the twelve major cities. Everyone knew that the largest, tallest, and most magnificent mansion in the city was the seat of the War God Alliance.

Consequently, few dared to approach. Passersby would carefully circle the area from afar, seemingly unable to bear the potent killing aura emanating from the compound.

Even the bright sunlight in the sky seemed to hesitate directly above the mansion, pausing in apprehension before daring to descend.

At the mansion’s entrance stood two lifelike stone sculptures of ferocious lions. Flanking the vermilion-lacquered main doors were ten guards, each possessing the peak strength of a False God. Any person who met the gaze of these death-god-like sentinels would be driven back by the cold indifference in their eyes.

Suddenly, hurried footsteps echoed from afar as a man in purple robes rushed forward. Moving ten zhang with every stride, he reached the mansion gates in just a few blinks of an eye.

He then walked straight inside, treating the guards at the entrance as if they were merely the two stone sculptures—utterly disregarded.

The guards did move, but not to draw their weapons; instead, they performed slight bows, their expressions conveying a reverence and respect so profound it surpassed what they might show the Alliance Lord himself—by a noticeable margin!

The purple-robed youth dashed inside, arriving in the main hall where he saw a woman of unparalleled beauty and grace seated upon the dais above. She sat with dignified poise, enveloped in a robe embroidered with fresh floral down, which accentuated her skin, white and pure as snow, making her stunningly captivating. Beneath her exquisitely long legs were a pair of slender, lovely battle boots, intricately carved with silver butterfly patterns—beauty without peer.

She seemed the very embodiment of worldly elegance. Her soft, crimson feathered cloak radiated a pure, gentle luminescence. Her long, dark hair cascaded over her shoulders, and a delicate earring adorned her ear, adding an extra touch of dazzling allure.

Beside her stood a burly, imposing man, respectfully attentive. A sword scar marred his face, its color a fresh, soft pink, suggesting it was recently inflicted. Any native of the city witnessing this man’s obsequious stance would be utterly astonished, for this burly figure, standing subserviently like a slave, was none other than the Alliance Lord of the War God Alliance—the legendary God-Emperor powerhouse!

The purple-robed youth entered. Behind him, soft beams of sunlight illuminated the courtyard, casting his upright figure within the hall. He swept his gaze past the hulking man, pausing momentarily on the sword scar on his face before shifting his eyes. He seemed rather nonchalant regarding the mark, a scar only the man himself could have inflicted.

“Hao’er, why such haste? Have you encountered trouble at the border?” The voice of the devastatingly beautiful woman was soft, carrying a peculiar charm that calmed the spirit.

The purple-robed youth quickly nodded, clasping his hands in salute. “Yes, the corps of the dead that previously attacked our clan has actually pursued us. Although the main army has not arrived, the contingent sent ahead is already terrifying enough.”

“Is that so? How many have arrived?” Nuwa asked gracefully.

Shao Hao bit his lower lip slightly. “By estimate, no less than a thousand, and among them are several exceptionally powerful ones. My father and Uncle Fuxi are currently holding them off. The rest of the monsters are engaged in fierce combat with our clan’s experts; both sides are sustaining damage. Father sent me here to seek counsel from the venerable Empress Nuwa.”

Nuwa nodded faintly. Her eyes, bright as flowing water, slowly lifted to gaze toward the courtyard behind the purple-robed youth. After a long moment, she drew her gaze back and spoke softly, “Tell the Yellow Emperor and Fuxi to alter their formation and deploy the Demon Sealing Array. Once the Demon Sealing Array has trapped the corps of the dead, switch to the Two Extremes Array. Let the two of them serve as the array’s core, and everyone else must assist with full strength for annihilation!”

Shao Hao’s eyes brightened. He quickly cupped his fists. “Understood! I shall depart at once!” With that, he turned and sprinted outward.

Nuwa watched his figure vanish beyond the door. Her clear eyes held a light that no one could fathom. After a short while, she lowered her head, looking at the burly man standing respectfully beside her. “You go as well.”

“Yes!” The burly man humbly accepted the command.

He knew perfectly well, deep in his heart, just how terrifying this peerlessly beautiful woman before him truly was!

Thus, he left without looking back, executing several rapid teleportations to catch up with Shao Hao’s retreating figure. Shao Hao paid him no mind, merely burying his head and accelerating his flashing progress. The burly man said nothing either, simply following in silence. The two moved one ahead of the other, the atmosphere between them subtly peculiar.

Before long, the burly man arrived with Shao Hao at the border of the Celestial Lord Divine Continent. This area was the weakest region of the void, devoid of gravity or energy storms. From the distant horizon drifted black specks, densely packed like a swarm of locusts. Closer inspection revealed these to be various ferocious beasts hovering in the emptiness.

Some had dragon heads and tiger bodies; others possessed cat heads and wolf bodies—their forms bizarre and terrifying. Having just endured a massive battle, their bodies, which should have been tireless, were now at rest, all because of a small boy among them.

This young boy wore a little red bib, perhaps five or six years old, his skin fair and rosy with the plumpness of infancy, emitting a faint glow. He held a shepherd’s flute in his hand, leaning casually against a golden-maned Lion-Dragon Beast in the most comfortable posture imaginable.

His cherubic face hinted at an inherent wickedness. His eyes, dark and lustrous as pure black gemstones, reflected the bloody full moon in the sky. A slight upward curve played upon his lips.

After a long silence, he slowly closed his eyes, resting quietly. After several intense battles and a long pursuit, he felt weary, so he gently shut his eyes.

Not far from this legion of dead beasts, a gathering of figures hovered in the air, suspended amidst numerous warships and vessels. Cruisers and carriers were arranged in an intricate formation, maintaining interlocking defensive positions around the Celestial Lord Divine Continent.

Fuxi stood on the deck of a warship, his hand resting on the railing, gazing at the dim sky in the distance. A faint worry shadowed his deep features. The armor he wore was stained red with blood, and despite having been cleaned, faint traces remained. The number of malevolent beasts that had fallen by his hand during the relocation battles was immeasurable…

Having fought continuously, he had not removed his armor, and now he felt its weight, so heavy it felt almost unbearable. He clenched his fist slightly, savoring the gentle breeze blowing in from afar, indulging in the simple sensation of being alive.

Soon, a smiling voice sounded beside him, “What are you looking at?”

He did not answer. Upon hearing that voice, turning around became unnecessary. He withdrew his hand from the railing and reached to his left side, retrieving a flask of wine upon drawing it back. He showed no surprise, simply uncapping the flask with natural ease, taking a long draught, wiping the wine from his lips, and quietly stating, “Looking at this world.”

The Yellow Emperor, clad in golden battle armor, stood beside him, his sharp sword-like eyebrows slightly raised, a hint of amusement in his expression. “Haven’t you seen enough?”

Fuxi watched in silence for a while longer before slowly shaking his head, swallowing another gulp of strong liquor, his voice deepening. “I’ve seen more than enough for a long time, but there is one thing I have yet to fully grasp.”

“And what is that?”

“Emotion!”

“Oh?”

“Were it not for the ties to my race, I would have long since sought higher realms. I have repeatedly wished to cast everything aside, to be free of all earthly attachments, but while the physical burdens can be dropped, what is in the heart cannot.”

“If you could let go, perhaps the world you see would be different?”

Hoo, finally done. I was delayed by something today; I promised three updates for today, and if time permits, there will be four. Three updates were already tight today, but since I promised, I stayed up to finish writing. Hoo, this third update is so late; my brothers have waited too long, sweat. Old Gu is going to eat now, signing off. I’ll work harder tomorrow. (To be continued)
