The two-bedroom, one-living-room apartment was usually sufficient for him and Mi Xue, but whenever friends came over, it felt cramped, sparking the notion in Zhang Yang to buy a new house again. He needed to find a place that was spacious enough to accommodate several people.

“Zhang Yang, thank you so much for yesterday!” The three girls were up very late today, and they were now laughing together while preparing breakfast. It was Xiao Dai who greeted Zhang Yang.

The bruises on Xiao Dai’s face were barely visible now; judging by her appearance alone, one wouldn’t guess she had suffered such humiliation the day before. “And thank you for your friends too!” Nan Nan added from the side.

Her complexion had also improved significantly; yesterday had been a nightmare for her, and now the nightmare was over. “So polite?

If you want to thank me, treat me to a meal later!” Zhang Yang smiled lightly. Seeing them both looking well finally put his mind at ease; it seemed yesterday’s events hadn't affected them too deeply.

“We’re cooking right now, you can have a meal with us shortly!” Xiao Dai chirped with a grin. Zhang Yang’s eyes widened slightly—who invites someone to eat breakfast as a thank-you meal?

“Just kidding! I already agreed with Nan Nan, we’ll treat you tonight, along with your friends.

I can’t afford the really nice places, though (Shu Shu Wu).” Xiao Dai said, smiling again, before darting back into the kitchen to busy herself with their breakfast. Soon, her laughter mingled with Mi Xue’s from inside the kitchen.

Zhang Yang shook his head gently, realizing the little imp had played a trick on him. But this confirmed they had genuinely recovered; this was just Xiao Dai’s usual lively nature.

The breakfast among the three girls was lively. Before they had even finished, Hu Xin and Gu Cheng rushed in, both having slept poorly and worrying for a long time.

Seeing Xiao Dai and Nan Nan looking as they did now made them immensely happy. Having earned a rare day off, neither of them planned on driving their haulage trucks today; they decided everyone should go out and have some real fun.

Since buying vehicles, Hu Xin and Gu Cheng had been working incredibly hard. This was, in fact, their first complete day of rest.

There were more people now, but there were also more cars. Hu Xin drove Zhang Yang’s large Mercedes, while Zhang Yang and Mi Xue took his Mercedes sports car, and they all headed out.

Hu Xin was intensely envious of Zhang Yang’s two new Mercedes vehicles. He loudly swore that in the future, he too would rely on his own efforts to buy a Mercedes that belonged solely to him.

Long Feng continued to follow closely beside Zhang Yang. His demeanor confused Hu Xin and the others.

Long Feng was like a block of wood, utterly silent. Even when they greeted him, they received no response, at most a slight nod.

After a while, they mostly stopped trying to talk to him, just finding it strange why Zhang Yang had hired such an odd bodyguard. The group of six went to the amusement park.

They had discussed going there together back in school, but years had passed without them ever actually making it. This was the perfect opportunity.

“Squeak, squeak!” “Chirp, chirp!” Upon arrival at the park, the most excited were the two little ones, Lightning and Shadow. They both leaped out, squeaking incessantly, drawing the attention of other nearby children.

Lightning’s adorable appearance was its most potent weapon. It wasn't just the children; many girls couldn't help but glance over, watching the lively little creature.

After enjoying a few rides while holding the two little ones, they became even more animated, wanting to jump onto everything they saw. This amusement park was vast, featuring a large lake.

Adjacent to the lake were artificial swimming pools, a water park, and areas for boating. When they tired of the main attractions, boating on the lake seemed pleasant.

The boats here had large canopies, so the sun wasn't a worry. The surface of the water felt cool—perfectly comfortable.

“Help! Somebody help!” “Quick, save them!

Someone fell in the water!” As the group reached the lake’s edge, they heard frantic shouting from not far away. Everyone’s gaze tracked toward the sound.

In the center of the lake, two girls on a small boat were waving and screaming, while two figures thrashed in the water nearby. Judging by their desperate flailing, neither could swim, and at that rate, they would soon sink beneath the surface.

The girls’ cries had drawn a crowd, and other boaters were already paddling towards them. People on the shore also gathered near Zhang Yang’s group.

One man even jumped into the water and began swimming toward the middle, clearly intending a rescue. Unfortunately, the shore was too far from the accident site.

It would take him several minutes to swim there, and the drowning victims wouldn't last that long. With a light sigh, Zhang Yang took off his canvas bag, handed it to Mi Xue, and immediately dove into the water himself.

Mi Xue hadn't even registered what he was doing before Zhang Yang vanished. She could only stand there, clutching Lightning and the canvas bag, watching tensely.

Hu Xin and Xiao Dai were stunned; no one expected Zhang Yang to jump in too. “Wait a minute, Zhang Yang can’t swim!” Gu Cheng’s face changed drastically, and the words burst out of him.

Being the closest friend and from the same hometown, he knew Zhang Yang’s situation intimately. It was true; Zhang Yang couldn't swim.

In Gu Cheng’s memory, Zhang Yang always avoided the swimming pool with classmates. “What?” Mi Xue’s face went pale, horror flashing across her features.

By now, many people were gathered around, and they paused when they heard Gu Cheng’s revelation. Murmurs of discussion rippled through the crowd.

Saving someone was brave, but jumping in without knowing how to swim was foolish, many people muttered as they stared at the water's surface. Hu Xin began stripping off his shirt; he could swim and was preparing to go in after Zhang Yang.

Mi Xue held Lightning tightly, her hands clenched together so hard she bit her lip until it bled, unaware of the injury. “Where is he?

Where’s that young man who jumped?” “I heard this lake has a lot of water weeds. Maybe he got tangled underneath!” Time dragged on.

A full minute passed, and Zhang Yang hadn't surfaced. The crowd began to buzz again.

Mi Xue’s face grew even paler. Hu Xin and Gu Cheng stared anxiously, waiting for Zhang Yang to emerge so they could assist.

“Don't worry, he will be fine!” Long Feng, who had been lingering at a distance, suddenly appeared beside them and spoke softly to Mi Xue. Mi Xue froze, and Hu Xin and the others turned around, looking at Long Feng in surprise.

In their experience, Long Feng was utterly taciturn, someone who rarely uttered a full sentence. None of them expected him to walk over and say something like this.

“He’s coming up!” Long Feng suddenly lifted his gaze, focusing ahead. Zhang Yang did emerge, rising directly from the location of the victims.

Mi Xue and Hu Xin quickly looked back. Indeed, Zhang Yang was holding one person, forcefully pushing them up toward the boat.

After securing the first person, Zhang Yang dove back under the surface. Moments later, he brought the second drowning victim to the surface as well.

“Chengzi, you said Zhang Yang couldn’t swim?” Hu Xin immediately spun around, glaring at Gu Cheng. Gu Cheng’s earlier words had terrified him; the drowning strangers mattered less, but Zhang Yang absolutely could not be in danger.

“Yes, he really couldn’t before! It’s strange—when did he learn to swim, and so fast?” Gu Cheng scratched his head, completely bewildered.

Hearing this, the surrounding onlookers leaned forward in astonishment. The man who jumped in before Zhang Yang hadn't even covered a quarter of the distance yet.

Zhang Yang had jumped in and reached the victims in just over a minute. That speed was astonishing.

Even competitive swimmers probably couldn't match Zhang Yang, especially since he seemed to have stayed submerged the whole time; no one recalled him surfacing even once in between. Holding one's breath for over a minute was achievable for many, but swimming that far underwater was beyond ordinary capability.

Watching their stunned faces, Long Feng simply shook his head to himself. Zhang Yang was an expert in Neijin, and there were even Neijin experts more powerful than him.

Submerged, their speeds were naturally quick. Zhang Yang hadn't even exerted his full strength; going all out would have shaved off even more time.

He was confident he could reach the victims underwater in under a minute. “Hey, why isn't he getting on the boat?” “Yeah, it looks like he’s towing that person toward the shore?” The crowd began discussing again.

After rescuing the second person, Zhang Yang hadn't brought him onto the boat; instead, he was swimming toward the bank. His pace wasn't as swift as before, but he reached the shore in just over two minutes, dripping wet, carrying an unconscious young man onto the sand.

“Mi Xue, the bag!” As soon as his feet hit the ground, Zhang Yang urgently called out. Mi Xue rushed to hand over his canvas bag.

Zhang Yang’s expression turned grim. Ignoring the water dripping from his face, he opened the medical kit and took out sterilized needles.

Zhang Yang held two needles and immediately plunged them into the young man’s chest. “What—what’s going on here?” Hu Xin and Gu Cheng stood beside Zhang Yang.

Hu Xin was using his own shirt to wipe the water off him. “He has congenital heart disease, and it’s acting up right now!” Zhang Yang took out several more needles, placing them on the young man’s body while speaking softly.

Simultaneously, he marveled at the young man's luck. Falling into the water happened to coincide with his presence.

If he hadn't noticed something was wrong underwater and diagnosed the heart attack, no one else could have saved him. By the time Zhang Yang brought him ashore, the young man’s heart had already stopped beating.

After inserting over a dozen needles, Zhang Yang suddenly slammed his fist onto the young man’s chest. After three hard strikes, the young man let out a groan and spat out a significant amount of water.

Seeing that the young man showed signs of waking, Zhang Yang finally let out a breath and gently flicked every needle still embedded in him. He had been rushing; not getting on the boat was because he needed to retrieve his silver needles.

The heart attack had come on too suddenly, and he required his tools to save the man.
