Ye Chen rubbed his nose and walked to the elevator, finding it pitch black inside.
He took one step forward.
That single step felt like walking into another world.
All surrounding light dimmed, plunging him into a void where countless meteors streaked past—beautiful and dazzling, enough to make one dizzy with yearning.
Just as Ye Chen came to his senses, a cute, mischievous voice sounded near his ear: "Master, we've arrived."
Ye Chen couldn't help but startle. He turned around to see a brilliant doorway open behind him where there had been nothing before. He looked at Zixiang in astonishment. "So fast?"
Zixiang chuckled. "We can reach any location in the Demon God Palace in mere seconds with this light-speed elevator. This place is the Armory, housing countless weapons left behind by the many God Emperors you slew in your past life."
God Emperor weapons? Ye Chen's eyes lit up. What rank of being were God Emperors? The weapons they wielded possessed boundless might. With the capability of an army of ten thousand, slaughtering so many God Emperors back then—the accumulated arsenal must be immense!
Zixiang led Ye Chen out of the light-speed elevator into a vast plaza. Ten majestic structures dominated the square, each building stretching over a hundred kilometers, projecting an air of unmatched grandeur and immovable solidity.
"These ten palaces house different types of weaponry: armor, leg guards, various edged weapons, domain weapons, or even ship-class armaments," Zixiang explained, acting like a boutique guide for Ye Chen. Ye Chen nodded slightly. "Let's check the domain weapons first. Which palace is that?"
"This way." Zixiang walked directly toward a palace in the east.
Ye Chen quickly followed.
The palace was magnificent and towering, standing like a colossal mountain. At the entrance stood two bronze lions, a hundred meters tall, their eyes fierce, their manes so lifelike they appeared to be genuine ferocious beasts.
Under the gaze of these two bronze lions, Ye Chen felt a tangible pressure. He frowned slightly, then strode past the lions, following Zixiang to the palace threshold.
Rumble~
The palace doors opened automatically.
The massive doors seemed not to have moved for countless ages. As they groaned open, the accumulated dust on their surface was stirred up, floating visibly in the light shafts.
Ye Chen remained composed, sensing that as the gates slowly yielded, a magnificent and mysterious gateway to another world was unfolding before him. The blood within him surged with a slight, invigorating heat.
"They even have a cleaning system, yet it still collects this much dust," Zixiang pouted, though she said no more, stepping casually into the palace.
Inside, the walls began to glow automatically, illuminating the interior as brightly as day. Looking around, the palace space was as vast as a plain, crisscrossed by flowing rivers of energy upon which numerous weapons floated.
The entire hall was vibrant with color. The energy rivers intertwined and cycled like galaxies, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Within these streams, many weapons rotated and orbited, radiating brilliant light like shining stars.
"These are all domain weapons, ranging from Lesser God level to Peak God level, and even Dao Artifact grade. Master, you may choose freely," Zixiang chuckled.
Although the Demon God Palace was a remnant from the previous Great Saint War era, its knowledge base was from that time. However, later generations in the Ancient World had not completely forgotten the knowledge from the last Great Saint War. Therefore, the classifications and items were primarily based on the knowledge unearthed from the soil of the previous epoch, using it as the foundation.
Ye Chen asked without hesitation, "Which one is the highest-grade domain weapon here?"
Zixiang tilted her small head, thinking for a moment before replying, "It’s the lower half of the Cosmic Disc—the Chrono-Disc!"
"Cosmic Disc?" Ye Chen paused, a strange thought sparking in his mind. "Could it be such a coincidence?"
"What is the 'lower half'?" Ye Chen inquired.
Zixiang surveyed the circulating rivers of energy floating in the hall. Suddenly, she seemed to spot something. She beckoned a finger, and from the central halo of one energy river, a streak of white light suddenly shot out. This projection moved with lightning speed, quickly landing in Zixiang's slender hands.
Ye Chen focused his gaze. It was a ball of white light, about the size of a palm, shaped like a Bagua symbol with eight sharp corners. It emitted a pure white radiance and subtly exuded a powerful pressure that made one’s heart tremble.
"This is the Chrono-Disc!" Zixiang giggled. "This Chrono-Disc was detached from the Cosmic Disc; it's the lower half. As for the upper half, the Astro-Disc, we don't know where it went. If the Astro-Disc and the Chrono-Disc could be rejoined, it would be the complete Cosmic Disc, whose power could rival the Demon God Palace itself."
"Rival the Demon God Palace?" Ye Chen’s pupils constricted.
Zixiang grinned. "Of course. In the time of the Great Saint War, the Cosmic Disc was the weapon possessed by the Heavenly Emperor of the Ancient World. Unfortunately, he encountered Master. In their fierce battle, the entire Cosmic Disc was ultimately dismantled, one piece falling to each combatant."
Shock flared in Ye Chen's eyes. He hadn't expected the force known as the Army of Ten Thousand to be so devastating that it could dismantle a weapon like the Cosmic Disc, whose power rivaled the Demon God Palace. The sheer intensity of that battle must have been apocalyptic. "This Chrono-Disc can currently exert the power of a High-Grade Dao Artifact. Do you want it, Master?" Zixiang asked playfully, blinking at him.
"I want it." Ye Chen reached out to take it, instantly feeling the Chrono-Disc behave like a chunk of lead and iron, heavy as a mountain. Even with his current physique, he couldn't budge it; it seemed fused to Zixiang's small hand.
Zixiang tilted her head, watching Ye Chen's reddening face with an expression of pure innocence. "Master, this Chrono-Disc requires the power of Laws to communicate with it before you can lift it easily. You don't know how to use the Laws?"
Ye Chen shot her a look, unable to hide his annoyance. "You know my strength perfectly well. Stop playing dumb!"
"I don't know," Zixiang insisted, shaking her small head like a rattle drum.
Ye Chen glared at her. "If you continue to be mischievous, I’ll order a reset of your chip, switching to a different mode." Since obtaining recognition from the Demon God Palace, he had learned certain administrative protocols. If the System Goddess disobeyed orders, he could command a chip reboot, effectively killing the existing System Goddess and replacing her with another—identical in appearance but possessing entirely different thoughts and personality.
Zixiang jumped in fright, her large, watery eyes welling up. She pleaded pitifully, "Oh, Master, please don't reset my chip! Little Xiang was just playing a joke. Don't be angry, okay? Waaah..." Ye Chen waved his hand dismissively. "Since the Dao Artifact is unusable, bring me a Peak Domain Divine Artifact first."
"No problem!" Zixiang immediately nodded, not daring to disobey. She gazed at the energy rivers overhead, observed for a moment, and lightly beckoned her hand. A small point of light, colored like violet lightning and laced with electrical filaments, floated out of the energy river—it was a small ring. The ring was inscribed with complex, indecipherable secret runes, exquisitely carved, radiating an overwhelming aura that pressed down subtly.
"This is the Purple Realm, a Peak Divine Artifact. It can manifest a Thunder World and control a domain!" Zixiang's usually cute face adopted a slight, fawning expression.
Ye Chen glanced at her, reached out, and took the violet-colored little ring. He felt a significant weight; in his previous state, he would have needed his full strength just to grip it.
He examined it carefully, sensing that the violet ring was infused with a cold, murderous energy, like a savage beast. Unconcerned, he slipped it onto his middle finger.
"Master, do you require any other domain artifacts?" Zixiang asked with a playful grin. "If you have any good friends you wish to gift something to, feel free to choose from here."
"Give me ten Domain Divine Artifacts of the Middle God level first," Ye Chen stated without reservation.
Zixiang obediently nodded. She summoned several times with her palms, and ten streaks of light floated out of the energy rivers like falling meteors, landing in her small hands.
"Here they are." Zixiang held out both hands, presenting them to Ye Chen. "Master, take them!"
Ye Chen nodded slightly, swept them up with a large hand, and stored the ten domain artifacts—which manifested as necklaces and rings capable of holding domains—into his Rune Space, planning to distribute them to Bailong and the others later.
"Let's go." Ye Chen turned to leave.
Zixiang quickly led the way, soon bringing him to the adjacent palace of bladed weapons. Here were all manner of edged weapons. Dao Artifact-level weapons required the power of Laws just to be tentatively activated. With Ye Chen's current strength, he could only look, not touch, and though his desire burned, he had to pass them by.
He selected a purple battle saber, 3.3 meters long, named: Raging Thunder!
This battle saber was a Peak Divine Artifact, carrying terrifying lethality. With Ye Chen's current strength, he could only barely activate it, unable to unleash its Law power, which, if accessed, would make its might even more horrifying.
Then, guided by Zixiang, Ye Chen continued to select numerous weapons. From head to toe, he acquired a full set of Peak Divine Artifacts, exuding a majestic presence and boundless pressure; every movement carried an unfathomable aura.
His newly acquired set was switched to "Disguise Mode," transforming into ordinary clothing—a simple black outfit. As for the Raging Thunder saber, it morphed into the belt at his waist, the hilt catching the tip, maintaining a look of noble authority.
Ye Chen felt a pang of regret. If his own power had reached the God level, he could utilize the power of Laws to directly wield the numerous Dao Artifacts stored in the armory. At that stage, he could even contend against God Emperors!
After finishing his tour of the Armory, Zixiang led him to the warehouse.
This warehouse was constructed similarly to the Armory, but the contents inside were far more varied, including not only various medicines and elemental bases but also machinery and numerous secret manuals from the previous Great Saint War era.
The technological sophistication contained in these manuals differed entirely from current technology, and the methods required for cultivation also presented certain variations. (To be continued.)
