In his previous life, whenever Zhang Yang went out, he always brought his two assistants, and everything was prepared for him by them. It was a pity that those two capable helpers had vanished with him in the plane crash of his past life.

Silver needles were absolutely essential. Without the unique weapons of his past life, the needles he had now would have to suffice.

Besides needles, there were numerous other medicines that might be needed. Some medicines had to be compounded on-site, or else the whole affair would become a drawn-out hassle.

Judging from Xie Hui's description, his grandfather’s condition stemmed from an injury to his vital energy (Yuan Qi) sustained during wartime, which was then exacerbated by further exertion for the sake of the family, leading to the severity of his current state. This time, the treatment would primarily target that loss of Yuan Qi.

That was the main cause, but the minor details could not be overlooked either.

A severe depletion of Yuan Qi easily brought along various complications, and it was also possible that some illnesses inherently damaged the Yuan Qi. If he didn't strike simultaneously from multiple angles, plugging every leak, even restoring the Yuan Qi would be useless; the old man's body would still be frail.

Without assistants, all this preparation had to be done by Zhang Yang himself.

Returning home, Zhang Yang grabbed a few things and then headed out.

He primarily visited the major pharmacies, constantly purchasing what he needed. For any hard-to-buy or unobtainable medicines, he could only seek out substitutes.

This made Zhang Yang regret not having purchased more medicine the last time he was in Jiao Yi.

The traditional Chinese medicine market in Jiao Yi was incredibly comprehensive; everything Zhang Yang needed could be found there.

After several hours of running around, he finally managed to buy most of the usable supplies. Zhang Yang returned home and started packing clothes, shoes, and socks.

He wouldn't be returning in a day on this trip, so daily necessities also needed preparation; he couldn't rely on others for everything once he arrived.

Having packed everything, even Zhang Yang felt a bit weary, which brought back fond memories of his two former assistants. Sadly, given how close they were to him, they likely no longer existed in this world.

The next morning, Zhang Yang drove over early to pick up Mi Xue.

Su Wei expressed extreme displeasure at Zhang Yang taking Mi Xue away so early, and she was unwilling to let Mi Xue go.

It was only after Zhang Yang explained that he had to take Mi Xue on a house call and couldn't afford any delays that she relented. This resolution only came after Su Shaohua himself stepped in.

That girl, Su Wei, was utterly unreasonable; no reason from Zhang Yang worked. She seemed convinced that everyone else's affairs were less important than hers, and everything had to revolve around her.

A girl with such a temperament was someone Zhang Yang would definitely keep his distance from.

“Qingya Mountain? That’s not close, is it?”

Mi Xue looked at Zhang Yang in surprise in the car. She didn't know where they were going until they were already on the road. She knew of Qingya Mountain; she had even visited it before. Her own home was quite near it, only about thirty kilometers away.

“I know. On this house call, we can take a few days to relax in Qingya Mountain as a mini-vacation!”

Zhang Yang turned his head and smiled. Zhang Yang wasn't actually clear on what Qingya Mountain looked like. In his past life, he hadn't heard much about it until the end, suggesting it wasn't very famous.

This time, he was purely using the house call as an opportunity to explore the mountain a bit; after all, it was a mountain.

“Great! When we get to Qingya Mountain, I’ll show you around!”

Mi Xue smiled sweetly, a truly beautiful smile that, in turn, surprised Zhang Yang.

After Mi Xue explained, he learned that Qingya Mountain was indeed very close to her ancestral home. Mi Xue’s old home was near Fenghua Mountain, and both mountains belonged to the same extensive range, which included many primeval peaks.

Speaking of the mountains around her hometown, Mi Xue became much more talkative, wishing they could arrive at Qingya Mountain right away.

After returning to pack a few things, Xie Hui’s call came through. Xie Hui was still at yesterday's teahouse and invited Zhang Yang to depart together.

When Zhang Yang and Mi Xue arrived, Xie Hui was already waiting. Parked beside him were three cars.

One was Xie Hui’s Mercedes from yesterday, another was a bullet-shaped minivan, and the last was an SUV. It seemed there were people with each of the three vehicles.

“These are some of our family members here in the country. They heard that Mr. Zhang could treat Grandpa, so they rushed over and wanted to follow you to see,” Xie Hui said immediately upon seeing Zhang Yang exit his car. At this moment, Zhang Yang was his honored guest, and ensuring his satisfaction was paramount.

That was why he took the initiative to explain, not wanting Zhang Yang to have any misunderstandings due to the large group.

“I understand. It seems your grandfather holds a very high position in the hearts of everyone in your family!” Zhang Yang nodded with a smile. Hearing this, Xie Hui showed a flash of pride again.

“The greatest virtue of the Xie family is unity. We achieved our status as a major domestic family through unity in the past. Later, Grandpa and the others fought the devils relying on that same unity, killing many of them. It’s still true now; the family’s development in recent years has been excellent, largely because we don't have so many internal disputes!”

Xie Hui was right. A unified family possesses immense cohesion; development is inevitable.

Other families also understood this, but few could achieve it. In such a large family, everyone sought personal gain.

Even the Su family, which appeared harmonious on the surface, might crumble over some critical issue; they were perhaps not as sound as the Xie family.

“Let’s get going!” Zhang Yang said directly. Xie Hui immediately nodded; the earlier they set off, the sooner they could see his grandfather.

With three cars plus Zhang Yang's vehicle, they made a total of four, driving out of the city together.

Qingya Mountain was located within Qingya County; the mountain's name was quite explicit, and the county itself was established around it, with many residences situated at its base.

There was no fully express route from Changjing to Qingya Mountain. Only the first eighty kilometers to Huhe City were expressway; after that, they would have to take slightly poorer provincial roads.

This meant the journey would take longer.

Fortunately, the total distance was relatively short. They set off in the morning and arrived at Qingya Mountain a little after two in the afternoon. Xie Hui's grandfather lived in a villa at the summit, and their several cars drove straight up the mountain, finally stopping at the resort villa on the peak.

Qingya Mountain wasn't particularly high; a sloping road led up. Upon reaching the top, a few people were waiting for them.

“Where is Grandpa?” Xie Hui asked one of the men, who looked under forty, as soon as he got out of the car by the villa gate.

“Grandpa is in the back. Did you really find the thousand-year-old ginseng?” The man nodded, then immediately pressed the question, a hint of disbelief still lingering on his face.

It was understandable. So many of them had searched for years, even becoming ginseng experts, yet failed to find any thousand-year-old specimen. Now that Xie Hui claimed to have found one, a sliver of doubt remained.

“Big Brother, this is Mr. Zhang Yang. He’s a doctor who volunteered to treat Grandpa after hearing about his condition. The thousand-year-old ginseng is Mr. Zhang’s treasure!” Xie Hui smiled, immediately introducing Zhang Yang to the man before him.

“Mr. Zhang, this is my elder brother, Xie Fei. He’s also very concerned about the thousand-year-old ginseng, so please don't take offense!” After introducing Zhang Yang, Xie Hui introduced the other man, an act that showed respect to Zhang Yang while also being cautious lest Zhang Yang misunderstand his focus.

Mi Xue stayed close to Zhang Yang, curiously observing everything around her. She had visited Qingya Mountain several times, but never the villa complex atop the summit. This area was private, off-limits to ordinary people. This was her first time at this location.

“No problem, Mr. Xie, hello!” After Xie Hui’s introduction, Zhang Yang extended his hand first. Xie Fei quickly reached out to shake it; he had indeed been momentarily preoccupied with concern. He had almost rushed to Changjing after Xie Hui’s call last night but was persuaded by Xie Hui’s repeated assurances to wait here for them.

In reality, he wasn't waiting for Zhang Yang, but for the thousand-year-old ginseng Zhang Yang possessed.

They had sought treatment for their grandfather for so many years, consulting countless doctors, and the consensus had narrowed down to only one solution: finding ginseng, the older the better. A century-old piece could sustain life, but a thousand-year-old piece could save it. That was why they had been searching relentlessly until they encountered Zhang Yang.

“Mr. Zhang, please, come inside!” Xie Fei finally collected himself. Regardless of whether Zhang Yang could cure their grandfather, the mere fact that Zhang Yang possessed the thousand-year-old ginseng meant they could not afford to be careless. The ginseng hadn't been acquired yet.

The people who followed also got out of their cars. Most of these were young, with a few small children. The older ones were mostly women. The drivers were two young men who looked even younger than Zhang Yang.

After Zhang Yang and the others entered, all these people followed them into the villa.

“Mr. Xie, you didn't rest well last night, did you? Your liver fire is too strong; it's quite detrimental to your health. If you have chrysanthemum tea, drink more to cool down the fire!” As they walked through the door, Zhang Yang suddenly said softly to Xie Fei. After speaking, he walked further inside.

Xie Fei stood there momentarily stunned. By the time Zhang Yang had moved ahead of him, he finally reacted. He hurried to catch up, a look of surprise on his face. He truly had not slept well yesterday, mainly due to the conviction in Xie Hui’s news. He habitually suffered from excessive liver fire, and he felt quite unwell this morning, having taken some cooling medicine, though its effect was minimal. His earlier demeanor had been partly influenced by this. He was amazed that Zhang Yang could discern this just by glancing at him, confirming that Zhang Yang was indeed a capable physician.

“Grandpa, why did you come out!” The villa was large, divided into a front and back courtyard. Upon reaching the rear, Xie Hui suddenly quickened his pace, heading toward the front area where an elderly man stood, flanked by two middle-aged women.

From a distance, the old man's hair was completely white, and his back was slightly stooped, yet when he stood there, he exuded a straightness akin to a towering pine, accompanied by an aura of battle-hardened might. Zhang Yang nodded silently. This was indeed a veteran of the battlefield. His unique temperament was something others could not replicate; only those who had truly walked through fields of blood and fire carried such martial intensity.
