Siren jogged toward the platform with a light step, and when he was still over a hundred meters away, a hazy silver light enveloped his feet, lifting him onto the platform in a single bound.
Jack, clad in the corporation’s uniform, approached the stage slowly. A faint smile touched his lips as he walked with measured steps to the edge of the two-meter-high platform and jumped aboard.
The representatives from the other four defense companies had all withdrawn; this had devolved entirely into a duel between Siren and Jack.
Jack executed a perfect military salute toward Siren. “Jie Yuan. You can call me Jack!” Siren lazily nodded at Jack and said lightly, “Oh, you already know my name, so I won’t bore you with pleasantries... Damn it!”
Before Siren could finish speaking, Jack Yuan, who had maintained his faint, easy smile, suddenly lunged forward like a tiger descending a mountain, his right hand forming a tiger claw aimed directly at Siren’s throat. A pale, light-colored Gang Qi erupted over an inch from Jack’s fingertips, tearing the air and leaving five faint white shockwaves in its wake—a continuous, sharp crackling sound filled the air.
Cursing loudly, Siren stomped his feet and swiftly retreated backward, his right fist shooting forward to meet Jack’s right claw in a wild exchange.
The moment fist met claw, it was as if a small-caliber shell had detonated on the platform. A blast wave rolled outward for dozens of meters, kicking up dust around the platform’s edge. Jack’s forward momentum did not slow; he swept his right claw back and followed up by chopping forward with his left hand, shaping it like a blade aimed at Siren’s chest. Pale green Gang Qi coiled around the edge of his hand. Jack’s chopping palm strike actually carried a sharp blade-like Gang Qi, as if he were not striking barehanded but slashing down with a lethal weapon.
Silver light flashed, and Siren’s body executed a movement impossible for an ordinary fighter. Two sheets of silver light lifted his rapidly retreating form, causing him to gracefully soar into the sky like a bird amidst the fierce, chilling Gang Qi. Jack’s violent lunge swept past Siren’s feet, and Siren ruthlessly stomped down hard toward the crown of Jack’s head.
Jack’s forward-leaning body rotated an unbelievable one hundred and eighty degrees. Jack looked upward, and his left palm, still arcing forward from its previous swing, met Siren’s downward-stamping left foot.
Foot met palm, and an explosion stronger than the previous one erupted where they collided. Jack fell backward onto the ground, slightly disheveled, scraping backward along the platform for over ten meters. Siren was jolted upward by the force of Jack’s palm strike, flying nearly a hundred meters high. His left boot cracked open with a piercing sound, and drops of blood seeped from the torn combat boot; Jack’s palm strike had carved a gash half a finger-depth deep across the sole of Siren’s foot.
“How dare you injure my exquisitely delicate and flawless feet!” Siren roared in fury. “Who knows if you’ve got athlete’s foot or some kind of fungus on your hands? Heavens, what if you’ve infected me?”
Gu Xiechen rolled his eyes and turned his head to gaze at the distant ocean. Penghua muttered under his breath, “Show-off!”
Rage flashed in Siren’s eyes as a sharp silver light erupted. Three beams of silver light shot out from beside him, and three tall, strikingly beautiful women in form-fitting, translucent ninja suits stepped out of the light.
The skin of these three beauties was yellow, white, and black, respectively. Their hair colors were black, gold, and deep purple, and their eyes were blue, purple, and pale silver. Their uncanny skin, hair, and eye colors, combined with their tall, alluring figures, and the sheer transparency of their ninja suits—suits which revealed absolutely no undergarments beneath!—made them objects of desperate fascination. Even more bizarrely, the three shared identical features, height, and measurements.
The beautiful female ninjas, each wielding a massive Ōdachi nearly a meter and a half long, cried out and charged at Jack. The three swords aimed for the most direct, decisive targets: the heart, the lower abdomen, and the groin. Sword light flickered and Dao Qi filled the air. Moreover, the three long blades shot out silvery Dao Qi nearly a meter in length.
Judging solely by the length and density of the Dao Qi, these three female ninjas were at least High-Tier Saturn realm fighters—far more powerful than the World Puppets Siren had summoned on Paradise Star.
Leaping up from the ground, Jack bent low and charged headlong toward the three ninjas. His feet moved in strange patterns, his body twisting left and right like a caterpillar, creating eerie ripples. His hands were held behind his back, and strands of faint blue electrical arcs coiled between his fingers. Accompanied by the faint crackle of electricity, two fist-sized blue orbs of energy materialized in Jack’s palms.
“Hah-yah!” With a great roar, Jack swung both hands forward. Two blue lightning dragons, thick as a ruler, roared toward two of the ninjas a few meters away amid a massive crackle of current. Jack suddenly accelerated, his muscular body leaving dozens of hazy afterimages in the air as he swiftly closed the distance on the last female ninja. His left fist, vibrating with intense electricity, emitted a piercing shriek as Jack exhaled and punched straight for the final ninja’s heart.
The long swords suddenly shattered. All the energy within the three female ninjas surged into their respective blades. Countless tiny, irregular metal shards whistled out in every direction. The two incoming lightning dragons were struck violently by the broken blade fragments, causing the dragons to immediately explode. Innumerable small electric sparks danced erratically along the trajectory of the flying shards—hissing amid the crackle of electricity, the fragments shot past the platform, blasting the nearby ground with nearly a thousand deep pits, each meter-deep.
Ignoring Jack’s lethal attack, the ninjas whose swords had just shattered threw themselves forward, desperately clinging to Jack’s body.
With a sickening squelch, Jack’s heavy punch pierced through the upper body of one female ninja. His fist, flashing with dazzling electrical light, emerged from her back.
“Long live the Master! We die for the Master!” The three female ninjas shrieked wildly. The heavy magnetic oscillation bombs strapped to their backs detonated with a deafening BOOM.
Twenty heavy magnetic oscillation bombs, each carrying the equivalent power of half a ton of standard explosive. A small mushroom cloud rose over the platform. Siren’s body was thrown upward another hundred meters by the shockwave. White atmospheric waves swept outward in all directions, and the platform collapsed into dust amidst the flames. Countless fragments shot outward randomly, accompanied by piercing sounds of air rupture. A massive impact crater, dozens of meters deep, replaced the original site; the platform was completely gone.
Siren tumbled briefly in the air, then excitedly raised his right hand. “Hey, can you declare me the victor now?” Suddenly, a bolt of intense cyan light shot up from the bottom of the crater created by the explosion. The cyan beam, thick as a human fist, carried terrifying heat and temperature. Caught completely off guard, Siren frantically twisted in the air, barely avoiding the cyan light’s thrust. A long scorched streak was burned into his silver outer garment, running from his lower abdomen to his right shoulder. Had Siren not evaded so quickly, the cyan light would surely have pierced his gut.
The dust below the crater was slowly pushed aside by a supple, immense force. Jack emerged slowly from the pit, his clothes tattered, revealing his well-developed physique. His swollen right hand was slowly retracting, and the previously fair skin on his right arm had turned a strange pale cyan color. Faint wisps of smoke continuously rose from Jack’s right hand’s five fingers, which were trembling minutely.
The nearby sensors immediately registered the energy index contained within that cyan light: Ninety-seven thousand standard Zakkla Index units—a strike at the peak of Jupiter level.
Siren gasped, sucking in a sharp breath. Seeing the energy reading of Jack’s previous strike displayed on the monitor screen sent a chill of fear through him. His body absolutely could not withstand such an attack!
Jack walked slowly to the edge of the crater, looked up at Siren, and sneered, “Lucky break. I missed!”
Siren exploded in anger. “Luck, my ass! It wasn’t luck, it was strength! Pure strength!”
Vast swathes of silver light continuously flickered around Siren. Hundreds of beautiful young girls carrying heavy bombs charged out of the silver light. Shouting ‘Long live the Master!’ the girls joyfully rushed toward Jack, surrounding him from every direction.
Jack watched these girls, laden with heavy magnetic oscillation bombs, with a cold smile, arrogantly raising his head.
Hundreds of girls clung tightly to Jack, piling up to form a tower of human bodies, effectively trapping him inside.
Warriors and staff from the four major defense companies in the stands screamed and fled in all directions. The explosion from the bombs on the backs of the three female ninjas had already stunned many of the weaker spectators. Now, the cumulative explosive power of the bombs carried by this multitude of girls was equivalent to nearly a thousand tons of standard explosives, well within the lethal radius for several kilometers. Who dared to stay and watch the show?
This was unlike the clashes between high-level Innate Fighters. No matter how powerful the explosive attacks unleashed by high-level Innate Fighters, ninety-nine point ninety-nine percent of the energy was directed at the enemy—either canceling out through mutual clash, or entirely absorbed and neutralized by the opponent’s physical body—causing minimal external collateral damage. Siren’s method of attack, however, was indiscriminate, large-scale slaughter. This was completely unreasonable!
Jack remained motionless, showing no intention of using the moment to escape.
Siren also remained still, slowly flying higher into the sky, distancing himself from the ground. Even with this level of explosion, Siren was being cautious in the extreme.
After several minutes of chaos, during which the surrounding audience was rapidly evacuated via ship transport, Siren finally flicked his finger. The bombs on hundreds of World Puppets detonated simultaneously.
A blinding mushroom cloud shot straight into the upper atmosphere. The intense light and deafening sound shook Easter Island to its core.
Following the violent oscillation, a pit over a hundred meters deep appeared in the ground. The soil within the pit had been melted by the extreme heat of the explosion, faintly glowing red.
A figure, curled into a tight ball, slowly stood up from the very bottom of the pit. He slowly uncoiled his body and let out an excited, high-pitched cry!
Gu Xiechen stared intently at Jack, who was slowly emerging from the crater. Was this guy even human anymore?
A thick shell armor, resembling that of a beetle, protected Jack’s entire body, exposing only his handsome face. But even his facial skin had undergone keratinization; the smooth keratinized layer reflected an eerie light under the sun. The armor plating Jack wore was extremely imposing. Long, sharp black spikes jutted out from every joint, and the heavy plating increased Jack’s height by about ten centimeters compared to the beginning.
What truly chilled the blood was that this armor had not been put on; it had grown out of Jack’s body!
What kind of monster was this?
Sigh, I always wondered what would happen if people ate too much genetically modified food.
