This message traveled through layers of departments until it finally reached the Lord of Snow Moon City, appearing within his communicator. He rarely received emails, so when the notification sounded, the Lord immediately clicked to view it. Seeing only the words “Celestial Shaman Divine Envoy,” his body stiffened, and he hastily rose, departing the City Lord's Mansion.
This Lord of Snow Moon City was a powerhouse of instrument civilization; his entire body was coated in a metallic sheen, every cell within him a miniature device. His eyeballs were comprised of countless precision instruments, pieced together from telescopes, reflectors, folding mirrors, and other mechanisms.
The spacecraft he piloted resembled an island suspended in mid-air, a truly breathtaking sight. Most peculiar was that this island-like vessel moved with no loss of speed and could fluidly change its form, transforming into any shape imaginable.
The Lord of Snow Moon City rushed to the periphery of the Space Jump Point Plaza, waiting outside the long tunnel. A ship adorned with numerous precise runes pierced through the passage and emerged. Based on the details in the message, the Lord of Snow Moon City instantly recognized it as the Celestial Shaman Divine Envoy’s vessel.
His spirit instantly lifted, and he hurried forward to greet them.
Ye Chen stepped off the ship with Xiao Hei and the others. After a few pleasantries, he accepted the Lord's invitation to the city's most luxurious hotel for a celebratory meal.
“Lord Celestial Shaman Divine Envoy,” the Lord of Snow Moon City said, appearing mild-mannered, looking perhaps thirty years old. He automatically adjusted his towering, ten-foot frame to match Ye Chen’s height, raising his cup with a slight smile: “It is a profound honor to welcome the Divine Envoy!”
Ye Chen smiled gently. “You are too kind. I only intend to rest here for a short time before moving on. Lord City Master, I wonder if you happen to have any grain supplies? I require a substantial amount!”
The Lord of Snow Moon City replied heartily, “No problem at all! However much you need, consider it handled by me!”
Ye Chen said sincerely, “Thank you. In the future, I will certainly speak highly of Lord Snow Moon City’s virtue to the Celestial Shaman Teacher.”
The Lord of Snow Moon City chuckled, “Tell me then, how much grain do you require?”
“Enough to feed two hundred million people for two years,” Ye Chen stated directly.
The Lord nodded. “That is easily managed. I will have people send it over shortly.”
Ye Chen offered a slight bow.
After the meal, the Lord of Snow Moon City ordered men to bring the stored grain, contained within spatial rings, to Ye Chen and present them. For him, procuring supplies for a hundred million people was a trivial matter.
Ye Chen accepted the spatial rings, offered another respectful bow, and took his leave. With this vast supply of grain, the spiritual civilization would be sustained; even with rapid birth rates and population booms, there would be no cause for worry.
Bidding farewell to the Lord of Snow Moon City, Ye Chen, along with Xiao Hei and the others, boarded the rune-embellished spacecraft and proceeded directly to the access point for the Dark Great World portal in Snow Moon City.
Most cities maintained portals to the Dark Great World, allowing mercenary groups, bounty hunters, and guild members to enter, slaughter dark creatures, procure materials, and bring them back to trade.
Ye Chen flew his vessel, skirting a large portion of Snow Moon City, until he reached the portal. From a distance, he observed a wide, solid street with a flavor of bleak grandeur. The bronze-colored paving stones held an air of desolation, stained with dried blood and marked by the immense footprints of colossal creatures, lending the square-like avenue an ancient atmosphere. Many figures moved back and forth across this space; almost all of them exuded an aura saturated with killing intent, as if they had walked straight out of a sea of blood. The killing aura emanating from them was so dense that even Ye Chen, having slaughtered countless beings in both his past and present lives, felt his own aura paled in comparison.
They looked like demons forged from gore!
Even Ye Chen’s formidable composure faltered slightly upon glancing at them, akin to how an ordinary person would be shaken by the sheer presence of a notorious robber.
Most of these individuals carried broad battle blades, possessed powerful physiques, and exhibited faces carved from cold, bronze-hued stone, giving the undeniable impression of seasoned veterans.
At the center of their collective perimeter stood a magnificent stone sculpture. This statue was ancient, towering a thousand Zhang high, entirely obsidian black. It depicted a man clad in a dark cloak and heavy battle armor, wielding a blood-red demon blade, standing proudly against the backdrop of the entire world. His crimson hair whipped wildly behind him, a terrifying sight.
His mere presence seemed to hold up the very sky, repelling all manner of evil.
Ye Chen was utterly transfixed.
This aura, this majesty, suggested a being who pierced the heavens and trod the earth, supreme unto himself!
A boundless, arrogant disregard for the entire world!
This, he realized, was true, unassailable arrogance!
Facing this sculpture, Ye Chen felt as insignificant and fragile as an ant easily crushed underfoot.
“Xiao Chen Chen, Xiao Chen Chen…” the voice of the old man in the green rune sounded near his ear. “This is the docking area; spacecraft are not permitted inside.”
Ye Chen snapped back to the present and surveyed his surroundings, noticing that everyone else had landed their ships here as well. He nodded slightly. “Stop here.”
The old man in the green rune promptly halted the rune ship.
Click!
The hatch opened. Ye Chen moved instantly, stepping out of the rune ship. With a clench of his hand, he folded the rune space, tucking the vessel inside, and proceeded alone into the plaza, his own blade of slaughter strapped to his back.
Looking up, he saw people from various civilizations: the half-meter-tall Lai Ru, the Goblins, the Dwarves, and others, most standing between two and three meters tall.
Through his mental perception, Ye Chen sensed that the majority here were Pseudo-God level powerhouses, with only a few holding the rank of Half-God.
Ye Chen looked up again at the sculpture, majestic as a peak, standing aloof against the world, emanating an aura of cold pride. He secretly marveled, wondering what kind of figure this person was in life. A mere carving replicating his form could possess such presence; what terrifying being must the original have been!
Behind this statue was a vast, swirling black hole, resembling a cosmic singularity, though lacking the terrifying destructive power. As the vortex spun, figures occasionally leaped in, vanishing, presumably transported to another world plane.
Ye Chen’s expression remained calm as he walked toward the black vortex.
“Hey.” Suddenly, a voice called out from beside him.
Ye Chen paused briefly, turning to see a youth standing there. The young man possessed pointed ears, emerald-green hair, handsome, sharp features, and carried a purple longbow on his back, radiating the distinct energy of a Pseudo-God.
“Interested in joining our Ice Fire Battle Group?” the Elven youth asked with a smile, displaying gentlemanly politeness.
Ye Chen shook his head. “No need.”
The youth seemed momentarily taken aback, then chuckled. “Going alone will be very dangerous. The monsters in the Dark Great World are far beyond what you can imagine here. Our Ice Fire Battle Group has three peak Pseudo-God experts, and the rest are high-level Pseudo-Gods. You look capable, so I intended to bring you along.”
Ye Chen shook his head again. “Thank you, but I don’t require it.”
The youth frowned, his tone cooling slightly. “Do you have a partner?”
Ye Chen waved a dismissive hand. “You’re a bad person, so I won’t tell you.” With that, he turned to leave.
The Elven youth nearly spat blood in frustration.
After Ye Chen walked away, a powerful man approached the Elven youth and laughed. “What, the bait didn’t bite?”
The Elven youth snorted angrily. “Just an arrogant brat! I was planning to let him in, and when we reached that demonic lair, we could use him as bait; it would have gone much smoother. The fool didn't know what was good for him!”
“Your deception skills are too poor,” the middle-aged man commented with a smile.
Ye Chen slowly continued toward the black vortex, ignoring the solicitations from others around him. Back when he was still weak on Earth, he had often encountered such offers—gourmet meals promised—only to discover upon joining a group that he was merely intended as bait.
After so many years, Ye Chen had developed a keen insight into human nature.
Most people here were Pseudo-God experts. The Dark Great World was a powerful realm; entering it without Pseudo-God level strength could lead to immediate peril. Who would politely invite a mere Half-God?
Just as Ye Chen was about to step into the black vortex, the entire sky suddenly flashed with light. Immediately following this, the wandering clouds solidified, and a vague, fiery-red silhouette materialized in the expanse. Standing beside this figure was a stunning young woman, exquisitely slender, with a waterfall of red hair cascading down her back and skin as white as fine jade—beautiful and charming.
Standing behind the pair were nearly ten golden-armored men—members of the Yan God Empire’s Divine Guard!
“It’s him!” The red-haired girl instantly recognized Ye Chen, who was walking toward the portal, her eyes flashing with hatred. She pointed at him. “Seize him!”
The fiery-red silhouette remained motionless. In reality, given his stature, he absolutely would not intervene lightly, especially against a mere Half-God brat; it would be utterly humiliating and a complete loss of face.
The nearly ten Divine Guards standing behind them had no such reservations. They moved instantly, charging toward Ye Chen who was approaching the dark vortex.
Ye Chen suddenly felt a chill down his spine and started inwardly, quickly turning around to see over ten figures descending from the sky, each radiating the esoteric aura of laws. Their bodies appeared solid yet ethereal as they unleashed strands of divine energy, attempting to ensnare Ye Chen.
Because the plaza was crowded with numerous powerhouses, including several formidable Divine Beings, these attackers refrained from deploying Spatial Domain Control.
Ye Chen’s heart skipped a beat. Without hesitation, he rapidly activated his Lightning Superman Mode and dashed toward the black vortex.
“Halt!” One of the Divine Beings threw a talisman from his robes. The talisman transformed into a mysterious energy that instantly enveloped Ye Chen’s entire body, freezing him solid in the span of 0.001 seconds.
The sudden outbreak of combat caused a stir among the surrounding people. Using their discerning eyes, they immediately grasped the situation and cleared the area, creating a space for the fight.
“Don’t kill him!” the red-haired girl commanded.
The ten Divine Beings halted their momentum, quickly channeling divine power into binding threads aimed at entangling Ye Chen.
“Heavenly Beast Superman!” Ye Chen roared internally, his blood seeming to boil, every cell vibrating. Heavenly Beast Superman activated instantly, and Ye Chen seemed to become an integral part of space itself.
