The Azure Dragon Sovereign roared with laughter, enveloping the soul and consciousness of the All-Spirits avatar, and swallowed her in one great gulp. After a few chews, he exhaled a puff of air. "Supreme-level souls are truly delicious. Yan Chixing, Yan Chixing, it was that damned woman who killed you. As your brother, I have finally avenged you. Haha, your foolish disciple is just like you—fooled by a scoundrel."

"Shameless thing, you are the one who enjoys sowing discord, you dog!" Lei Dong sneered repeatedly. "If it hadn't been for you back then, how would my master, Yan Chixing, have been targeted by the Mother of All Spirits’ avatar? Fine, you’ve killed this avatar; it saves me the trouble."

"Jie jie, since this Master dared to summon you here, it means I do not fear you." The Azure Dragon Sovereign constantly mocked. "What do you know?" The Azure Dragon Sovereign roared in defiance. "That brat Ming Wang—if he hadn't obtained some inheritance from the Crystal Ancient Clan, and with the secret aid of Fairy Bibo, do you think he could have forged the true Eye of Reincarnation? The Crystal Ancient Clan were never native to our plane. The knowledge they possess is far more profound."

So that was it. Lei Dong understood some of the preceding events, but he probed further. "The function of the spirit is merely to refine the devoured souls, making them purer, removing some of the malevolence and resentment, nothing more. In any case, Azure Dragon Sovereign, you are now immune to malevolence and resentment. What use would you have for it?"

"Boy, you dare test me? You court death." The Azure Dragon Sovereign suddenly realized the ploy and erupted in fury, unleashing a punch. The fist shone with golden light, saturated with the Laws of Annihilation.

What immense power. Having devoured the souls of three Supreme-level experts and possessing half a Heart of Chaos, the Azure Dragon Sovereign’s strength had clearly become terrifyingly potent.

Initially, this tactic occasionally succeeded, causing the Azure Dragon Sovereign considerable distress. But soon, the cunning Azure Dragon Sovereign conceived a countermeasure, using Lei Dong's sneak attacks against him with a devastating blow.

Caught completely off guard, Lei Dong's body was nearly shattered. It was only thanks to his Spatial Ghostly Shadow Evasion, combined with the formidable Circulation Concealment Art, that he managed to escape.

"Jie jie, the Circulation Concealment Art indeed. The Mother of All Spirits taught you that trick too?" The Azure Dragon Sovereign sneered incessantly. "You two really are burning with illicit passion. Too bad. This Master has already imprinted a tracking spell on you using the Universal Will. Even if you flee to the ends of our universe, you will never escape. Surrender and merge with me; that is your true destiny."

Hmph. Lei Dong ignored him and quickly utilized the Demonic Body Rebirth Technique to reform his flesh. Fortunately, the preceding battle had left behind residual Chaos Spiritual Qi. After devouring a large amount, his True Chaos Essence was replenished.

"Dream on," Lei Dong retorted dismissively, but suddenly realized something. This old fellow’s obsession with the spirit meant his Eye of Reincarnation had a significant flaw—perhaps it could only barely suppress the erosion of malevolence and resentment.

With this thought, Lei Dong’s figure flickered, and he began fighting while maneuvering towards the Sea of Chaos. There lay boundless malevolence and resentment. The portions eliminated or lured away by him and the Azure Dragon Sovereign were only a fraction; the majority remained there, surging like maddened beasts.

Only in that location could he grow stronger the longer the battle raged. While the Azure Dragon Sovereign could also devour, Lei Dong doubted that, without the complete Eye of Reincarnation, he had an absolute limit to suppressing the malevolence. Once the Sovereign went mad, he would become much easier to deal with.
