Hanging up the communication, Ye Wen did not continue to bicker with Cui Jun about whether he had turned into some foolish boy who liked wearing a red vest and sporting a small gourd with two leaves atop his head.
Still, he was very curious about what the subsequent moves of the so-called Seven Gourd Techniques would be like. According to Cui Jun’s description, the later ones merely involved manipulating water and fire, and upon deep mastery, one could command their own unique water and fire, as if grasping the power of the cosmos. Ye Wen inquired if Cui Jun possessed any special water or fire, only to be met with a mischievous chuckle that masked the old man’s answer.
As for the invisibility ability, he did not conceal it; moreover, this skill was not particularly rare, its sole function being the concealment of one’s form. However, this concealment was vastly different from common invisibility spells: if one mastered this technique to its extreme, even the Grand Supreme Elder Lord or the Buddha himself could not possibly see through it or locate the hidden figure.
Ye Wen was quite interested in this technique, but Cui Jun cut him short with, "It's a shame that since I created this cultivation method, even I haven't been able to master the sixth move to its peak!" This single statement made it clear to him that these were merely theoretical effects; whether they could truly be achieved upon completion was uncertain, or perhaps the sixth move was simply unattainable before reaching the Golden Immortal realm? If one reached that level, however, what need would there be to hide from those two esteemed figures?
"A tactical dilemma?" Ye Wen felt like labeling it as such, but considering he still needed to learn this method from the old man, he refrained from voicing the thought.
Regarding the seventh move, Cui Jun remained completely silent, merely stating, "That is the Daoist Elder Ran’s ultimate killing move, not to be revealed lightly..." This single sentence halted Ye Wen’s inquiries. After all, Ye Wen was not his disciple, and even if he were, sharing the profound secrets of a final decisive technique was not something casually done. Thus, after briefly asking about the key points of the first move, Ye Wen concluded the call.
He retracted the detector into his ring, closed his eyes, circulated his internal qi, and manipulated the various energies within his body according to Cui Jun’s instructions. He felt the surging qi within him swell as if exploding, though thankfully, this expansion was under his control.
Judging that he had progressed enough, Ye Wen stopped the motion and opened his eyes, looking down.
Good heavens, he had grown so tall without realizing it. Ye Wen felt his distance from the ground had doubled, and the dome of the palace seemed much closer. It was fortunate that the palace space was vast and the ceiling high; in the small hut where he used to live, he would have surely bumped his head long ago.
"I seem to have grown a bit too large!"
He slightly calmed his mind, dissipating some of the surging power. Ye Wen watched his body slowly shrink as if a punctured balloon were deflating. The sensation was bizarre, but certainly not pleasant.
When he felt the change was sufficient, Ye Wen stopped again and scrutinized his form.
He now stood around two meters and ten centimeters tall, his robust muscles inciting envy and jealousy in all men and driving women who favored muscles to frenzied screams.
At this size, even standing next to Heracles, Ye Wen’s physique would not be inferior; in fact, he appeared slightly bulkier than Heracles.
Striking a bodybuilder's pose, Ye Wen chuckled, "I have my moments of might too!" As a man, he had always vaguely yearned to possess such powerful musculature, to become an icon even more formidable than the Governor, but this desire wasn't deeply rooted; he suspected he might not adapt well if he truly achieved it.
However, the Seven Gourd Techniques taught by Cui Jun resolved this dilemma. From now on, if he wanted to be a muscle-bound man, he could become one; once he tired of it, he could revert to normal—truly living life as he pleased, boundless in joy!
"It’s just that I need to be careful with my clothes when I transform next time!" Although he had put away his long robe, he hadn't removed his inner garments. Dressed completely, he had forgotten this detail. The preceding transformation had left him with only a few tattered strips of cloth hanging on, leaving him nearly naked. It was fortunate no one else was around, lest they mistake Ye Wen for someone with questionable habits.
Looking down, Ye Wen grinned faintly, then casually retrieved a tank top and a pair of shorts from his ring. These two items looked about the size of socks when held, but upon wearing, they would stretch to accentuate the physique. Now that his size had ballooned several times over, only clothing with such excellent elasticity would fit. While his ring held many other outfits, he was certain he couldn't wear any of them in his current state.
His feet had also grown correspondingly larger, forcing him to go barefoot. Luckily, he only needed to sort out his undergarments, as a complete set of outer attire lay beside him.
Even these two simple pieces of clothing caused Ye Wen a wave of sweat. The massive surge in power had caused a corresponding drop in agility; Ye Wen was not entirely accustomed to this body. It seemed that even after mastering the technique, controlling this suddenly multiplied strength and size would require extensive training. Cui Jun, by contrast, must have long since achieved effortless control over his amplified strength, unlocking truly terrifying potential.
It was fortunate that Ye Wen had always excelled at controlling his own power. Although he was somewhat unadjusted now, he managed not to make a complete fool of himself—save for accidentally tearing the tank top once at the beginning. The rest of the process went relatively smoothly. While his steps landed heavily, making a muffled sound upon the floor, he managed not to crack the ground beneath him.
He casually swung a punch at the golden chest, but his slightly excessive force dented the ornate box. As Ye Wen registered his embarrassment, the Taurus Gold Cloth, gleaming with golden light, flew out of the box, decomposed into individual pieces before him, and swiftly armored him.
Unlike his disciple Yuwentuo, the Taurus Gold Cloth emitted waves of palpable joy once donned. Though the Cloth couldn't speak or use gestures to express emotion, the intense, blazing golden aura emanating from the armor allowed Ye Wen to instantly grasp the Cloth's sentiment.
"It seems my strength pleases this Cloth!" For Ye Wen, possessing power comparable to the main gods of Olympus, wearing the Gold Cloth was indeed a stroke of luck for the armor. The Taurus Cloth reacting this way was entirely expected.
What surprised Ye Wen, though, was the sudden appearance of a cloak behind him after he had fully armored up. He had no idea where the cape materialized from; it was lodged between the seams of the back armor, hanging almost to his heels, completely covering his back.
The cloak would ripple gently when he walked, and billow dramatically when he moved faster, giving him a decidedly striking look. "That Hephaestus really added this little thing... The Olympians are certainly masters of looking cool!" When he first introduced the Gold Cloths, he certainly hadn't drawn a cape in the schematics; this addition must have been Hephaestus’s own embellishment.
He was unaware that the idea had actually originated with Athena. In their world, capes were not just decorative; in certain settings, a cape symbolized status! To emphasize the supreme standing of the Gold Saints within the Sanctuary, Athena had required them to wear capes with their armor. "Since the Gold Cloths are essentially full body armor, pairing them with capes is quite fitting."
Because of this suggestion, ten of the twelve Gold Cloths—excluding Sagittarius with its large wings and Libra laden with weapons—were designed with this feature: upon being fully worn, a white cape would emerge from the seam at the nape of the neck.
Walking a few paces in the bedroom while wearing the armor, Ye Wen gradually acclimated to his new body and bearing. He then casually picked up the golden chest, which now bore an indentation, tossed his helmet into it, and strode toward the exit.
Not only was his stature taller and bulkier, but his sheer mass had ascended several tiers. Clad in the Taurus Gold Cloth, his gait, while not shaking the earth, was certainly imposing.
Before he even appeared, the few individuals sitting in the main hall sensed someone approaching. Hearing the exaggerated, muffled footsteps, Athena even showed a flicker of curiosity, eagerly anticipating Ye Wen’s appearance in the Taurus Gold Cloth.
Yuwentuo, squatting nearby, felt the ache in his abdomen and side ease slightly before muttering, "Why did Master go in for so long? Did he melt down the Taurus Cloth to refashion it?" His speculation was tacitly supported by Zhang Ling, though she chose not to voice agreement.
Athena thought similarly. After all, Ye Wen had designed the Gold Cloths; the Goddess of Wisdom wouldn't believe for a moment that he didn't know how to forge them. Moreover, Ye Wen had told her that he would be responsible for creating the Saint Cloth required by Zeus upon his reincarnation, which indicated that the Master Ye possessed considerable skill in forging.
This confirmed that Ye Wen understood the relevant techniques; modifying the Taurus Cloth slightly to suit himself was not impossible.
However, the muffled footsteps currently approaching did indeed possess the imposing aura of Taurus.
As she pondered this, a flash of golden light suddenly illuminated the area, the dazzling brilliance nearly engulfing the entire hall. The immense light source forced everyone to squint involuntarily. After a moment of adjustment, they could clearly discern the colossal, golden spotlight that had appeared.
Ye Wen then appropriately suppressed his constantly burning Cosmos (the Cloth’s, not his own), fully revealing himself.
"Wow! He actually put it on?"
"Good heavens? Does the Taurus Gold Cloth have a fitness effect? It turned Master into the Governor? No, even more exaggerated than the Governor!" Athena was astounded by Ye Wen’s transformation. She briefly thought he had summoned Heracles and dressed him in the armor, but the exposed face and long black hair—without the helmet—clearly signaled to her that this exaggeratedly muscular man before her was the previously somewhat slender Eastern man.
Athena instinctively took a few steps forward, wishing to examine if Ye Wen had used some strange sorcery for this change—she had initially suspected Ye Wen of employing a mind-based spell, believing the sight before her might just be an illusion.
Unfortunately, when she placed her god-infused hand on Ye Wen’s thick arm, she clearly felt the terrifying, explosive power contained within, a force that seemed capable of annihilating everything—something a mere illusion could not generate.
"Such... immense power!" Because of his increased height and bulk, Ye Wen’s features had hardened slightly. His black hair, no longer constrained by a crown, now hung loose, naturally cascading down his back.
Ye Wen lifted his chin slightly, looking rather smug. He couldn't help it; these people had doubted whether he could properly manifest the imposing spirit of the Taurus Cloth.
Looking at the towering Athena, nearly a meter shorter than him, Ye Wen felt a surge of vindication, a feeling that was somewhat bewildering even to himself. "Why do I feel like a child?" he wondered. "Could this Seven Gourd Technique have side effects?" Attributing all strange phenomena to Cui Jun's cultivation method seemed like a convenient answer. Ye Wen then stood comfortably, hands on hips, letting the others gawk at his tall, robust frame.
Only Zhang Ling observed him, adjusted her glasses, and commented, "I didn't expect Master to look so fitting as a bro-like figure, that’s a surprise! I thought only Brother Guo was suited for this look!" "..."
This statement caused Ye Wen’s imposing air to falter. Yuwentuo, standing nearby, looked at his senior sister with undisguised astonishment, scrutinizing her up and down.
"What?" Zhang Ling's gaze sharpened, imbued with a blade-like killing intent that made Yuwentuo jump aside before daring to voice his question, "So, Senior Sister has a preference for that kind of physique?" "I was merely stating an observation based on fact; it has nothing to do with my personal tastes!" As the two were conversing, Athena unexpectedly reached out again, running her hands over Ye Wen’s significantly broadened waist and abdomen, before displaying a rather suggestive smile. "I really like this look on you; it's absolutely marvelous!" "..."
Ye Wen remained silent, visibly embarrassed. Nearby, Yuwentuo looked shocked and incredulous, but quickly shifted to an expression of realization, punching his left hand with his right fist. "So that's it. No wonder she doesn't like me! I completely forgot the vast difference in aesthetic appreciation between Eastern and Western women!" But then his expression contorted into one of pain and conflict, clutching his head with both hands, muttering, "Do I have to transform into this as well? Perhaps she doesn't actually like this appearance?" He then shook his head, "No, she probably does like this. I heard that guy used to be a muscular type too..."
Zhang Ling glanced at the seemingly deranged Yuwentuo, then looked at Garfield, only to find Hua Xiaomao watching her as well. The person and the cat sighed in unison, wearing expressions that said, "This child is beyond saving."
Ye Wen, watching Athena circle him and examine his form, finally said awkwardly, "Shall we... not depart yet?"
This pulled the slightly lost Goddess of Wisdom back to reality. "Right, let's go!" However, after only a few steps, the Goddess added, "I’m starting to have second thoughts now. Perhaps leaving you on Mount Olympus was the better choice?" This comment did nothing to slow Ye Wen; in fact, his pace quickened. Combined with his now thick, long legs, a few strides placed him a considerable distance ahead of the group.
As they stepped outside, Shen Gongbao, who had been away on some undisclosed errand, happened to return. Walking with his head down, Shen Gongbao failed to notice the approaching Ye Wen, nearly colliding head-on. Fortunately, both possessed considerable cultivation and managed to halt their momentum just in time.
Compared to Ye Wen, Shen Gongbao's expression was far more dramatic!
He had initially thought he was about to crash into one of the Olympian gods, but when he looked up, his eyes were filled with golden light. The golden Saint Cloth was utterly arresting.
He then noticed that this expanse of gold was perhaps too broad, so he took a slight step back to get a clear look at the wall-like figure before him. His surprise doubled when he recognized the familiar features on this towering figure—over two meters tall, broad-shouldered, and built like a monstrous human.
"Ye... Master?"
Shen Gongbao was a man accustomed to tumult and quickly identified the individual behind the "giant beast." He was still very surprised, as Eastern cultivators, upon reaching a certain level, rarely altered their physical form unless necessary. Ye Wen’s current appearance...
Just as he was about to inquire further, Athena walked forward with elegant steps. She glanced coolly at Shen Gongbao and stated, "We can discuss any questions on the road. You will be accompanying us this time!"
"Me?" Shen Gongbao recalled being summoned back by Athena’s order. This meant the Goddess required his service? He had no intention of refusing and immediately asked, "What is my task?"
"Managing the Sanctuary!"
