Bai Long, Mo Feng, and the others roared and charged forward. Bai Long’s figure flickered, darting along the flank of the lion-monster and leaping onto its back. He gripped the fur on its spine tightly, raised the battle saber in his hand, aimed it at the creature’s back ridge, and stabbed down fiercely!

Pfft!

The saber shattered; it failed to pierce the lion-monster’s hide. Bai Long roared, discarded the broken blade, and sprang toward the creature’s head. He clamped tightly onto its ear, opened his mouth wide, and bit down hard on a thick flap of skin.

This level of pain meant little to the lion-monster. Ignoring Bai Long, it charged, energized, toward the perimeter of the base city. It swept a paw through the Black Armor Battalion army, snagging dozens of soldiers, clutching them as if they were ants, and tossing them into its maw. With a single crunch, it swallowed them all, chewed a few times, and swallowed again, then stuck out its tongue to lick its lips, staring bloodthirstily at the remaining warriors.

Yue Heng’s eyes bulged; he let out a furious roar, abandoning his staff and charging forward barehanded. He reached the lion-monster and, like a rampaging divine ape, let out a bellow and punched squarely into the creature’s flank.

Boom!

The punch carried the force of ten thousand jun, bursting the lion-monster’s skin. His entire arm penetrated deep inside, the ferocious power driving the beast’s leg back and breaking it.

The lion-monster howled in pain, a look of terror flashing in its eyes. It hadn’t expected such terrifying power to erupt from Yue Heng’s body. Its inner ferocity was instantly stoked. It swiped its other claw toward Yue Heng, crushing the air before tearing down toward his face.

Yue Heng roared again, raising both arms to meet the blow, striking the palm of the lion-monster’s paw. A torrent of savage force erupted, punching a gaping hole through the monster’s palm. However, the ground beneath Yue Heng’s body simultaneously fractured and collapsed, burying him deep into the earth.

Mo Feng was just about to rush forward to help when another massive silhouette suddenly loomed before him—the Flood Dragon!

This creature was a thousand meters long, its upper body towering between heaven and earth; the hundred-meter city walls seemed dwarfed by comparison. The Flood Dragon’s scales were etched like knives, sharp and cold, and lesser monsters scattered around it, afraid to approach.

On the battlements, tens of thousands of Black Armor Battalion soldiers held their breath.

Mo Feng’s expression shifted, then he frowned. He glanced at the endless horde of monsters surrounding them, a light flashing in his eyes. His body moved, and he plunged into the monster army, emitting a piercing screech as he ran.

Ultrasonic Attack!

Under his superhuman state, Mo Feng’s larynx had altered, producing a sound so piercing it was like fingernails scraping glass, tearing into eardrums. Wherever the sound wave passed, the roars of the monsters turned into shrieks; their nerves were pierced by the sound.

“Aoo…”

“Ah!!”

Countless monsters wailed, losing all sense of direction. Their formation dissolved into chaos. Those with weaker physiological structures bled from their ears and eye sockets, collapsing unconscious and being trampled into mud on the ground.

“Laser Cannon! Now!!” Xu Tianguo bellowed, raising his saber and charging toward the Flood Dragon. He had only taken a few steps when a white shadow flashed before him. A giant ape, a hundred meters tall, appeared before his eyes, its fan-like palms seeming to envelop the sky as they slammed down.

Xu Tianguo’s face turned ashen with shock. He darted aside, accelerating sharply, and narrowly dodged the white ape’s grasp. Still shaken, before he could catch his breath, he heard a gravelly voice chuckle sinisterly, “You actually escaped? Not bad. With strength like yours, you should have quite the chewiness!”

Xu Tianguo turned to see the white ape pursuing him. A flicker of fear appeared in its eyes, quickly replaced by rage. He laughed wildly but didn't attack; instead, he spun around and bolted into the monster army, which numbered at least five hundred thousand—ten times the number of the base city’s defenders!

If not for the monsters’ incredibly low intelligence preventing them from utilizing traps or coordinated formations, the base city would have already fallen.

Xu Tianguo charged into the horde, his twin blades flashing. In an instant, he slaughtered three powerful monsters. As he carved a path, the glint of his blades tore apart the skulls of countless creatures, fighting his way through with unparalleled ferocity.

Just then, the giant ape caught up, roaring as it extended a huge palm toward Xu Tianguo. Xu Tianguo didn’t look back, only noticing the surroundings darkening as he hastily accelerated. He weaved left and right in a ‘Z’ pattern, narrowly avoiding the ape’s grasp. His Cheetah Superman form only granted speed; if his weapons had been sharp enough, he might have been able to fight the giant ape, perhaps even kill it.

However, his current weapons were too flimsy; they probably couldn’t cut through the ape’s tough hide.

He continued to kill other monsters while evading the giant ape, gradually pushing deeper into the horde. At that moment, his entire body began to convulse, his thick fur abruptly shortening, and the power within him rapidly draining away.

Xu Tianguo’s heart lurched. At that instant, the giant ape’s paw shot toward him at terrifying speed and seized him. As he was caught, Xu Tianguo’s superhuman mode reverted; his innate level was only 80. He had only managed to hold out against this thousand-level giant ape for so long thanks to his enhanced state.

The giant ape grinned menacingly, about to toss him into its mouth, when suddenly a voice filled with infinite fury echoed out. Immediately, a streak of golden light, like a comet, shot into the ape’s chest, piercing the skin and burrowing inside.

The giant ape roared, thrashing its other hand wildly against the wound. After only a few heavy blows, it let out a shrill, agonizing scream. Its colossal body went slack, and it tumbled straight toward the monster army, crushing thousands of creatures beneath it.

From the giant ape’s wound, a figure slowly emerged—it was Huang Tianci. Covered in slime and blood, he rushed straight toward Xu Tianguo the moment he was free, pulling him from the ape’s grasp. Without a word, he hoisted Xu Tianguo onto his back and sprinted toward the base city.

The pair of golden antennae on his forehead looked as majestic as a divine dragon. He had activated his superhuman mode later than Xu Tianguo and rushed over immediately upon sensing his comrade was in peril.

Not long after, after fighting his way through the enemies, he reached the city wall and gently lowered Xu Tianguo down. His superhuman state ended precisely as they arrived, his antennae retracting back into his body, leaving him in his normal form.

The two comrades, who had been together since the dawn of the apocalypse, exchanged a look and managed wry smiles. Just then, a desperate shout rang out, followed by a dark figure being flung from the distance, crashing heavily onto the wall and creating a deep crater. It was Yue Heng!

By now, the man was drenched in blood. One arm had been bitten clean off, and his lower body was gone, only his torso and head remaining. It was easy to imagine the horror he had endured.

Yue Heng’s superhuman mode had long since expired. The impact of landing on the wall knocked him instantly unconscious. If not for his already formidable physical constitution, the fall would have killed him outright.

Xu Tianguo’s face changed, and he quickly moved to staunch the bleeding. He glanced over his shoulder and saw Bai Long, after throwing Yue Heng’s body, plunging back into the monster horde, fighting with frenzied abandon.

Bai Long had only seconds left on his superhuman timer, yet he refused to retreat. One of his arms had been severed by an unknown monster, and he fought on single-handedly, gripping his blade amidst the gore.

Xu Tianguo stood atop the wall, gazing down. The sky was choked with ink-black clouds, the wind howled, and the Demon Bird Leader, along with countless lesser demonic and fire-sparrow birds, circled overhead, ready to strike at any moment. Beneath the city, the ground was stained crimson with blood, littered with countless corpses: severed limbs, broken bones, and spilled entrails coating the earth.

Of the fifty thousand Black Armor Battalion soldiers, fewer than twenty thousand remained—a loss exceeding half!

The Blood God Sect’s group of over six hundred was reduced to just over two hundred. Of the remaining thirty-two superhuman warriors, the majority were dead or wounded; only a few were still struggling, while the rest had been evacuated to the medical camp, or worse, seized and devoured by monsters before they could even be retrieved.

The wind intensified, and the dark clouds churned violently.

Suddenly, a white ape, six zhang high, leaped up before the battlements, towering over the two men, roaring excitedly as it hammered down a massive punch. There were no superhuman warriors nearby at this moment. The blow came with extreme speed; he had no chance to dodge!

At that precise moment—

A graceful silhouette suddenly appeared, intercepting the strike. Her three thousand strands of dark hair billowed out as, through the passage of fleeting moments, she slowly extended a slender, pale hand to meet the descending fist.

“Ye Zhu!” Xu Tianguo froze.

It was as if all the wind in the world had been extinguished. The two fists, disproportionate in size, collided with a deafening bang. The one sent flying backward was not Ye Zhu, however, but the white ape!

The ground cracked beneath Ye Zhu’s feet. Her expression was severe, all traces of playfulness gone. Her suit of python-skin armor accentuated her lithe figure. She stared at the recoiling white ape, killing intent blazing in her eyes, and shot forward in a blur of motion.

Just then, the sky before her suddenly darkened. A tiger-monster charged from the rear of the horde, carving a bloody path through the ranks and crushing hundreds of Black Armor Battalion soldiers. Its icy eyes fixed on Ye Zhu, and with a cold snort, it brought down a massive claw.

Whoosh!

The gale was ripped apart.

This tiger-monster possessed a physical strength level of at least 1,500!

Ye Zhu’s face changed. Although her striking power reached 1,800 under her superhuman mode, her body, her organs, and her internal structure did not possess corresponding strength. Against a genuine Level 1,500 monster, she was slightly inferior—unless she had an exceptionally sharp blade!

Facing the tiger claw descending from above, Ye Zhu knew she couldn’t retreat. Gritting her silver teeth, she raised her white jade-like palm to meet the descending claw.

Clang!

The tiger-monster’s momentum faltered for a beat, while the city wall beneath Ye Zhu fractured under the immense force, collapsing entirely. She felt as if her entire body was about to split apart, her intestines and bones threatening to shatter. Her face flushed crimson, and she spat out a mouthful of blood.

The tiger-monster felt its claw go numb and roared in anger, slamming another strike toward Ye Zhu. The claw seemed to expand rapidly in her pupils—

In the laboratory, Ye Chen, who had been frantically fusing genes, suddenly opened his eyes.

To reiterate once more: I mentioned last month that I would release 10 chapters, contingent on surpassing 500 monthly votes, but that threshold was not met. However, I decided to take a day off and release 10 chapters anyway. The promise was for the following month, which is this month. I stated at the beginning of the month that the 10-chapter burst would be on October 18th. To suggest I am untrustworthy is regrettable.
