In the alien dimension, everyone present clearly understood the extent of victory achievable using combat robots; while these automatons were fine for routine hunting, they were essentially cannon fodder against truly powerful and ferocious adversaries.
Naturally, given the powerful self-detonation devices installed within each combat robot, there was no risk of them being captured and consumed by the Hive Queen, leading to the creation of other strange life forms.
It was less about testing the combat robots inside than it was about testing the full potential and power of this newly developed psychic ability.
The vast alien dimension, teeming with countless strange and aggressive creatures, was sheer hell for normal people.
For scientists, especially the biologist Lin Liqiang, it was paradise!
Bang!
The research project for the New Humans had only just begun; Lin Liqiang required immense amounts of data and countless specimens. He had to either follow Zhang Hao's Genesis Society path and conduct human **experiments, or venture into this alien dimension.
Yinzaluota didn't say much, his eyes fixed entirely on the projections of the alien dimension's flora.
Plants growing in different spaces would naturally vary. Especially since the precursors to these plants had been bombed by nuclear warheads—who knew what mutations they might exhibit? And what role might these mutations play in pharmaceutical refinement? That, too, held infinite possibilities.
The driving force for these two scientific geniuses to enter the alien dimension was hardly less potent than that of Qin Fen and the other martial artists.
The Brain fell silent after hearing Lin Liqiang's reply, and the group of researchers accompanying him also grew quiet. This wasn't merely inconsistent with extrapolated data; even describing the initial psychic strength of these two young individuals as "heaven-defying" wouldn't be enough.
The Brain had calculated the possibility of controlling a hundred combat robots simultaneously, but that required a first-generation psychic—after opening the gate of psychic power and discovering a method to cultivate it—to continuously enhance their strength until it reached a certain height.
To possess such a level of power immediately after awakening their psychic abilities? The researchers couldn't believe it, and the Brain couldn't comprehend what mistake had been made to create such two monsters.
"One hundred units," the Brain mused. "I, too, wish to witness such a grand spectacle. Be careful when you enter. If danger arises, I will open the escape portal for you at any time, allowing you to evacuate instantly."
"Indeed?" The Brain's voice carried immense surprise. "Zhang Hao is truly remarkable. He only took a handful of space scientists back then, yet he can now control the opening and closing of the dimensional gate at will."
Another projection instantaneously appeared on the smooth metal wall.
Qin Fen's astonishment was no less than that of Brain No. 7, perhaps even greater.
On the massive projection screen, a young martial artist, clad in a special super-nanofiber combat suit patterned with white tiger stripes, was descending from a newly opened spatial rift. His appearance was sharp—sword-like brows and star-like eyes—his cold, proud features enveloped in an indescribable aura of slaughter, as if a bloody presence cloaked his entire being.
The Little Pluto King, Hades, unseen for days! Compared to his appearance on Earth in the Sahara, Hades looked even more different now. Apart from his blood-red eyes, his entire physique was identical to that of an ordinary person, as if he were no insect warrior at all. Only those eyes, heavy with the scent of blood, announced to the world that the current Hades was no longer the man of the past.
More surprising to Qin Fen than this latest change in appearance was the aura surrounding Hades. Looking at him in the projection, Qin Fen had the illusion of seeing the White Tiger resurrected. This young man, whose strength hadn't yet qualified him to be a Divine Beast Martial Artist, still resembled the White Tiger of yesteryear; the way of the killing martial path suited his insect warrior origins perfectly.
"The peril Hades faced on Venus will be no less than what you experienced on Saturn," the Brain stated with absolute resolve. "For the Three Great Constellation Generals to surround him and yet he still survives today is a miracle. Qin Fen, I know you defeated him once, but that doesn't guarantee you'll win every time."
Qin Fen quietly gazed at Hades' projection. Many people never recover after a failure. Little Pluto King Hades had been utterly crippled in martial arts; his path should have ended, yet he returned! The hardship involved was unimaginable to outsiders!
"Only by experiencing nirvana can one have the chance to become an era's prodigy."
Qin Fen remembered his Master’s words, and he also remembered the immense wealth gained from the nirvana transformation he underwent after being severely wounded by the White Tiger.
Compared to the damage inflicted by the White Tiger's strike, although Qin Fen's strength was weaker back then, the damage he inflicted on Little Pluto King Hades must have been even greater.
"I want to fight him," Qin Fen's ten fingers had clenched into fists without him realizing it. No matter how much he respected Hades' ability to rise again, he absolutely had to cripple him once more!
This might disregard the larger picture, but Qin Fen had to do this. How deep was Little Pluto King Hades' hatred? How ruthless were his attacks, practicing the killing martial path? Even simpletons understood the level of danger this represented.
Qin Fen wasn't afraid of Little Pluto King Hades coming after him, but he was terrified of Hades targeting his friends and family. Years of experience had forged a core principle in his life: eliminate any danger at its inception! Such an approach might not always be deemed moral, but only a fool would wait until a criminal has committed a crime, left evidence, and harmed their loved ones before attempting to capture or eliminate them.
The Brain's indicator lights flashed several times. After a period of silence, it slowly spoke: "I apologize, I refuse."
Refuse? A flicker of surprise crossed Qin Fen’s eyes, quickly replaced by a helpless sigh. From their time together, he understood the Brain well enough: even without a human shell, it was still a scientist, working diligently to satisfy all human needs.
Such a "person" would never prioritize personal grudges when considering matters. Even when Zhang Hao's Genesis Society first broke away and was at its weakest, the Brain hadn't used its power to hunt them down over their betrayal.
"Preserving the interests of humanity" was the Brain's first consideration.
Zhang Hao's Genesis Society posed a danger, and Zhang Hao's insect warriors were at risk, but both should rank below the alien dimension's Hive Queen.
When facing the Hive Queen, the insect warriors were a powerful fighting force! Little Pluto King Hades, furthermore, was hailed as one of the four strongest among the younger generation today!
If a war broke out, the contributions Little Pluto King Hades could make to human society were what the Brain considered first.
Scientists have their steadfast faith, and martial artists have theirs. Qin Fen knew perfectly well that even if he threatened to shatter that 'head' entirely, the Brain would absolutely not compromise on this issue.
"Young man, we must preserve every force capable of opposing the alien dimension's Hive Queen," the Brain stated slowly, its tone almost solemn. "More than you or the Divine Beasts, I trust the destruction-level insect warrior Hades created by Zhang Hao."
"What do you mean?"
Qin Fen stared intensely at the Brain. Those words surely held a deeper meaning: Little Pluto King Hades, him...?
The Brain paused briefly. "You are very astute! Very well, I won't hide it from you. Little Pluto King Hades merely believes he controls himself. In reality, when Zhang Hao issues a command, the directive hidden deep within his brain is activated. That came from a research team that extracted the loyalty gene from the dog brain through countless experiments..."
Biological weapon! Icy chills surged through Qin Fen. His gaze drifted to Lin Liqiang and the other two nearby. That experiment just now...
"Young man, you needn't worry excessively about your friends. I have investigated you thoroughly; your weak spot is the circle of friends around you. I will not touch your weak spot. The Genesis Society seeks assistance, not enemies."
The Brain's words somewhat eased Qin Fen's anxiety. "Very well. Since you can't send me to Hades, send us somewhere else then."
The projection screen unfolded into a massive map, far larger than Earth, dwarfing even a planet like Saturn.
The feeling Qin Fen got from the alien dimension was one of profound doubt as to whether it was truly flat, as the map showed no continent with a spherical shape.
"How large the alien dimension truly is, we don't know," the Brain sighed incessantly while speaking, expressing the helplessness of being unable to fully comprehend a space he had personally opened. "This is only a portion of the map we have documented, along with the distribution map of the Hive Queen's subordinates."
On the enormous map was a huge purple light spot, marked with two conspicuous characters: King.
At varying distances from the purple spot were nine crimson light spots, labeled: The Hive Queen’s Nine Great Demon Kings.
Demon Kings! The Genesis Society referred to the alien dimension's creatures as demon beasts, and the Hive Queen's nine strongest offspring were positioned in different locations, commanding vast hordes of demon beasts and guarding various territories.
It wasn't fear of rebellion among the demon beasts; this peculiar space possessed an extremely strange social structure. All creatures displayed absolute loyalty to the Hive Queen, a stark contrast to human society, where not everyone was loyal to the Emperor, even in feudal times.
The Nine Great Demon Kings guarded the nine most fertile tracts of land explored by humanity so far! Any plant here received unimaginable nutrition and grew rapidly, even without time acceleration.
The demon beasts needed to survive; they needed to eat. These fertile continents were truly their habitats. Sometimes they would intentionally hide their migration paths to plant crops here, only to attack and seize the harvest.
Fighting was what these demon beasts did best. As for production, they were inept; perhaps the concept of production was absent from their innate genes, possessing only the genes for plundering and raiding.
Besides the nine crimson spots, thirty-six dark red spots were scattered in other locations. The ruling demon beasts in these areas were designated as Demon Marshals by the Genesis Society.
These demon beast rulers occupied prime territories second only to the nine fertile lands, and they commanded countless subordinate beasts.
Further down were several hundred light spots, all dark yellow, representing the rulers of General-level Demon Beasts.
Looking at this map, it resembled a quasi-feudal ancient imperial system. The Hive Queen sat at the center, while the King, Marshal, and General-level demon beasts acted like regional governors, commanding the armies of demon beasts spawned by the Hive Queen, each guarding a domain.
It was a fascinating diagram. The territories of the various demon beasts appeared loosely connected yet subtly interlinked; if any single area was attacked, at least one or two neighboring territories could send reinforcements, with some areas receiving ten or more.
"Since you insist on entering, I must first clarify one thing," the Brain stated dutifully, like an instructor. "The King-level or Marshal-level classification of these demon beasts was not a judgment given by the Genesis Society. Their ranking was personally assigned by Qilin."
The name Qilin instantly sent a small jolt through everyone. The strongest entity on Earth, the oldest Divine Beast Martial Artist, and universally acclaimed as the absolute strongest living powerhouse!
Even those aiming to surpass their predecessors were slightly shaken by the name of this top-tier powerhouse, and they listened intently to the classification of demon beasts established by a Divine Beast Martial Artist.
"According to Qilin's classification, these Nine Great Demon Kings either possess or nearly possess the strength of Divine Beast Martial Artists."
Upon hearing this, Qin Fen's expression shifted slightly—not out of fear, but surprise. The Hive Queen could spawn such powerful demon beasts, and not just one or two. If there were nine Divine Beast-level demon beasts, once they evolved beyond spatial constraints and arrived here...
"Are you all surprised?" the Brain's voice remained calm. "Qilin said that despite their power, these demon beasts cannot truly grasp what the martial path entails. Even if they all possessed the strength of Divine Beast Martial Artists, only three Divine Beast Martial Artists would be needed to counter them!"
Yang Lie’s expression didn't improve much. There seemed to be only four Divine Beast Martial Artists left in the world: Qilin, Vermilion Bird, Azure Dragon, and Black Tortoise! Oh, if counted strictly, there was also the Martial Venerable of the Sacred Martial Hall. There used to be the White Tiger on Venus, but it was rumored to have been killed by the Azure Dragon...
"Rather than the threat of the Demon Kings, the Demon Marshals pose a greater threat," the Brain’s voice turned solemn. "Qilin stated that each of these Demon Marshals possesses the strength of a Constellation General, and almost all are top-tier! Although they lack the backing of the martial path..."
Qin Fen stared at the flashing lights, calculating in his mind. There were thirty-six of them! Each Divine Beast Martial Artist had only four Constellation Generals under them; five Divine Beasts meant twenty Constellation Generals. Now that the Golden Star's strongest, the Gold-Metal Dragon, was crippled, nineteen remained. Even if the Sacred Martial Hall could produce some experts, they likely couldn't muster thirty-six.
"As for the Demon Generals..."
"The Demon Generals probably have the strength of Martial Dao Masters or above?" Qin Fen pressed, staring at the projection screen. "Place us at the Demon Marshal locations."
"Constellation General level?" The Brain answered without hesitation. "I suggest you first encounter the General-level beasts to acclimatize to their combat style."
Qin Fen grimaced. These beasts were varied, and their fighting styles differed. Combat experience against the General-level beasts probably couldn't serve as true reference. "The Marshals' territory instead."
The Brain's indicator lights flickered incessantly again. The electronic eyes in the room swept over the young martial artists, finding no one dissenting; everyone looked eager to try.
"Are you certain?"
"It is my decision!" Qin Fen nodded.
Brooks stroked his broad battle saber, his smiling eyes alight with fighting spirit. "Let's go! Deploy us inside, and let us stir up chaos in there!"
"Think about it again. Although we can open spatial portals anytime, anywhere, it still requires a brief moment," the Brain explained. "Inside, life and death are a matter of an instant. It’s not like you can decide to retreat, and we can open the portal in a thousandth of a second. The demon beasts' reinforcements are fast, and the satellites we deploy inside cannot capture the movements of those top-tier experts, so we cannot provide you with any warning." (To be continued)
