There are physical reasons—I have to get acupuncture every day, and catching a severe chill in the summer has left me only recently recovering, having started treatment back in August.
Of course, after the doctor examined me, I also realized my problems weren't just from the chill; it was a tangle of various issues combining that kept even a minor ailment from getting better.
As if that weren't enough, I've developed a nasty patch of dermatitis on my arm these past few days!
But even that isn't the worst of it; the worst troubles stem from the psychological side!
The content of Volume Two sparked controversy, with many threatening to stop reading altogether, yet I haven't altered the original outline—because if I change it now, this entire book is ruined, and I might as well start a new series.
However, due to the backlash, the plot of Volume Two has been rewritten and compressed numerous times! In fact, what I’m writing now is drastically different from the original plan; aside from the main overarching plot points, the content and character arcs have been almost entirely redesigned.
The result of this is... writer's block!
Many people comment that Volume Two feels like Ye Wen’s solo performance, just constant leveling up—this is because so much connective plot was cut, but the core character progression still needs to happen, which gives that specific impression.
Writer’s block, combined with the mental fatigue from poor health, all while trying to maintain a daily ten-thousand-character release schedule, has made the feeling of inadequacy increasingly intense. Today's chapter is late because I simply couldn't produce the words.
Staring blankly at the computer screen is an awful sensation. Between resting and keeping my perfect attendance bonus, I ultimately chose rest—let it be a penance for my current mental exhaustion. Goodbye to the ten-thousand-character daily bonus!
To talk about the book again: if you dislike Volume Two, please just skip it for now. After all, reading is a matter of mutual agreement; support it if you enjoy it, or wait for Volume Three if you don't. Volume Two has been heavily compressed, and there isn't much left of it anyway.
As for Volume Three, I won’t reveal too much, but I’ll offer a brief glimpse. Volume Three takes place in the Immortal Realm, and many characters from Volume One will make their return there.
Well, that’s roughly the situation... A
