Still holding the last spot on the Subscription List, I beg for recommendation votes, brothers, and membership clicks—let’s storm our way up! One word: Charge! Charge all the way! Break through the heavens! …… Ye Chen glanced at the elder, a faint curve playing on his lips. "You meticulously prepared all these things here for one purpose: to make anyone who enters instantly cautious, only to find that none of these items possess hidden mechanisms. This drastically reduces their guard, making them believe the spaceship isn't as dangerous as imagined."
"Then," Ye Chen looked towards the metal tray holding the Gold Beans, "you step out, pretending to be a good person, offering gifts. Everyone understands there’s no such thing as a free lunch, so upon hearing your words, their vigilance would naturally resurface. However, because the items you offer are so tempting, people will still reach for them, albeit with much greater caution."
"If only one person had come, they would have been killed by the traps beneath the moment they reached for a Gold Bean—one strike and done. But there are six of us, and only one tray of Gold Beans; there’s no need for all six of us to take them. Therefore, you concluded that we would only send one person to retrieve them. This leaves two possible outcomes: First, the person taking the Gold Beans is eliminated by the mechanisms. Second, they return safely! If the second outcome occurs, our wariness toward you will drop even lower. Combined with your previous calculated sorrow and lonely tone, it would actually make us feel guilty for suspecting you."
Ye Chen's expression remained unperturbed. "The facts show you chose the second path. Following that, there’s a pile of treasures on this stone platform—one person can’t take it all. And after experiencing the benefit of the Gold Beans, seeing such abundant fruit instantly makes one’s heart itch uncontrollably, causing everyone to rush in—that is the nature of humanity, perhaps the nature of all living things."
"And at that moment," Ye Chen smiled at the elder, "that is the final goal of your entire process: to wipe out all of us outsiders in one go! Am I correct?"
The elder let out a cold snort, staring intensely at Ye Chen. "On what grounds do you assume I intend to kill you? I have been completely sincere toward you; how dare you still suspect me!"
Ye Chen waved a hand dismissively. "I have never trusted anyone. Even if everything here is genuine and mechanism-free, I would still only allow one person to take anything. Even if you repeated this gesture a hundred times, I still wouldn't trust you!"
The elder froze, looking utterly astonished.
Bailong and the others nearby managed wry smiles. Everyone who had ever tried to scheme against Ye Chen had seemingly failed, whether it was Little Hei’s betrayal last time or this current ambush...
"What exactly is your goal?" Ye Chen looked at the elder with detached indifference.
The elder offered a bitter laugh. "I truly meant well for you; I have absolutely no other motive. It’s unavoidable if you don't believe me."
"Is that so?" Ye Chen murmured lightly. "Then hand over the control schematic map for this spaceship, along with your core Rune Technology secrets—for instance, how to manufacture talisman paper, and how the runes must be drawn to achieve various effects?"
The elder was stunned.
Bailong and the others looked upon the elder with pity—poor child, running into this cold-blooded plunderer who intended to strip him down to the bone. Mourn for him...
"Since you claim you only meant well for us," Ye Chen continued languidly, his demeanor striking Bailong and the others as bullying a child, "then leaving this ship here is just a waste of materials. Hand over control!"
"Don't push your luck," the elder frowned, speaking coldly.
Ye Chen glanced at the white crystal test tubes behind him, his eyes flickering. "What would happen if I shattered that tube and broke the energy crystal inside?"
The elder’s face instantly changed. He quickly shielded the crystal tube, fixing Ye Chen with a cold, sharp gaze. He hissed, "Don't force my hand! If you dare to shatter the transport conduit, I swear I will control the ship to seal the hatches a second before it breaks. Once the conduit is shattered, the ship’s energy will be lost, rendering it inoperable. With your strength, you won't be able to push these hatches open!"
"That's unnecessary concern," Ye Chen said calmly. "I naturally have a way to open the hatches." Even though his true form only possessed the strength of 298 men, once he entered the Superman State, he instantly commanded the power of 6,000 men, enough to forcefully pry open tiny fissures in the spaceship and escape from within.
Ye Chen’s composed demeanor gave the elder pause. He had encountered countless people in his long life and could distinguish between false composure and genuine confidence rooted in hidden strength; Ye Chen was clearly the latter...
"Enough pleasantries. You have two choices. First, we cooperate. I can assist you in leaving this space, and in return, you must tell me everything you know."
"The second choice: you can slam your head against this wall yourself, saving me the trouble. Consider your options!"
Everyone present fell silent.
The elder roared in anger. "Don't push me too far! I control everything here; with a mere thought, I can direct the ship’s massive artillery batteries to blast you into dust!"
"You mean before!" Ye Chen stated calmly. "The runes on this ship are severely damaged, and most of those powerful energy technology weapons are unusable. Otherwise, facing my current attitude, you would have annihilated us long ago."
Bailong and the others felt a flush of embarrassment. They realized that Ye Chen's aggressive and arrogant posture was itself a probe into the elder’s true capabilities—and what’s more... this rogue frequently put on this kind of face, knowing it would provoke others!!
Ye Zhu, standing beside him, revealed a small, knowing smile as he watched Ye Chen's detached expression.
"Choose!" Ye Chen sounded slightly impatient.
The elder looked at him speechlessly. This man, since entering, had been extraordinarily calm. He hadn't even glanced at the cold weapons hanging on the wall. Faced with a mountain of tempting fruits, he maintained his composure and managed to deduce most of the truth from minuscule clues, even using seemingly casual displays of force as probes...
It was easy to imagine how deep this man's cunning ran.
The elder felt a crushing sense of powerlessness, as if he didn't even know if his next move was within the other party's calculations, or if it was just another layer of a trap. This stifling feeling left him with nothing but a bitter smile.
"Fine, I choose the first option," the elder admitted mournfully. He had no other choice.
Ye Chen nodded. "Now, recite the data for the spaceship's control schematic, the core technology of the Rune Tech, and all related materials!"
The elder chuckled bitterly. "I am merely an energy life form managing the ship's power. I know nothing about the technology used to develop the runes. At most, I can control and repair this vessel. However, the energy reserves are critically low, barely enough for maintenance. Furthermore, the runes on the ship are damaged, causing some functions to be unusable. We need to find Rune Scrolls to fix them."
"You don't know how to create runes?" Ye Chen frowned slightly, a trace of disappointment in his tone. "So that’s all your value amounts to."
The elder: "..."
Bailong and the others looked at him with pity.
Ye Chen understood that repairing damaged runes required Rune Scrolls, but those items were too precious. In a minor ruin like this, they were unlikely to exist; otherwise, the elder would have used them long ago instead of waiting for Ye Chen to arrive.
"Hand over everything of value on this spaceship!" Ye Chen told the elder. "Don't hoard anything!"
The elder sighed bitterly, raised his hand, and tapped. A section of the metal wall beside him slowly opened, revealing a room filled with armor, weapons, energy technology implements, and the like.
"No fruit?" Ye Chen glanced over and frowned slightly.
The elder replied helplessly, "That group of Dark Demons plundered everything here. What's left are things they deemed worthless, except for those Gold Beans. As for the fruits you saw earlier, they were mere projections, nonexistent."
Ye Chen did not enter the room. He turned to Bailong beside him. "You go in and retrieve the items. We will stand here; he won't harm you."
Bailong nodded and walked in.
Ye Chen turned back to the elder. "Is there any method to carry this dimensional space hidden by the spaceship with one's person?"
"You want to carry this entire space with you?" The elder was astonished.
Ye Chen stated calmly, "Of course. This spaceship cannot be wasted. Since the runes are broken and it cannot be subjected to matter-energy conversion, the only option is to carry the entire space with me."
Yue Heng and the others listened, utterly astounded. They knew that an item that could be carried on one's person would necessarily be miniature. If they could carry this entire dimensional space attached to their body, being able to enter or exit at will would be utterly heaven-defying.
It was tantamount to carrying an entire world on one's person!!
